Solved

Hallo Everyone,I am currently trying to retrieve data from a VL53L8CX time-of-flight distance sensor using a NUCLEO-F401RE and an X-NUCLEO-53L8A1 on STM32CubeIDE with the VL53L8CX API. However, I am struggling to get it working and have no idea what I am doing wrong, as I am not getting any error messages from the IDE. I  have never worked on a stm device and this like my first steps, i would be very grateful if someone could help me to solve this issue.Here is my code: #include "main.h" #include "vl53l8cx_api.h" #include "stdio.h" /* Private includes ----------------------------------------------------------*/ /* USER CODE BEGIN Includes */ /* USER CODE END Includes */ /* Private typedef -----------------------------------------------------------*/ /* USER CODE BEGIN PTD */ /* USER CODE END PTD */ /* Private define ------------------------------------------------------------*/ /* USER CODE BEGIN PD */ /* USER CODE END PD */ /* Private macro -------------------------

I have a project that ran without issue, with STM32CubeIDE 1.13.0. When I updated it to 1.17.0 I could no longer debug that same project. The error window says:Error in final launch sequence: Failed to execute MI command:load D:\\Proyectos\\STM32CubeIDE\\XXXX\\XXXX\\Debug\\XXXX.elf Error message from debugger back end:Error finishing flash operationFailed to execute MI command:load D:\\Proyectos\\STM32CubeIDE\\XXXX\\XXXX\\Debug\\XXXX.elf Error message from debugger back end:Error finishing flash operationFailed to execute MI command:load D:\\Proyectos\\STM32CubeIDE\\XXXX\\XXXX\\Debug\\XXXX.elf Error message from debugger back end:Error finishing flash operationError finishing flash operation I added the log file in case it helps

Dear Sir,Please, answerWhat STM32 microcontrollers allows install Linux OS ? I need microcontroller such as STM32F407VET6. TIA Vladimir Naumenkov

Hello I'm very new in stm32wbX programming  and I've created a ble service with custom advertise data packet 0xff with values 0x60,0x61 in app_ble.c uint8_t a_AdvData[12] ={  7, AD_TYPE_COMPLETE_LOCAL_NAME, 'B', 'E', 'A', 'C', 'O', 'N',  /* Complete name */  3, AD_TYPE_MANUFACTURER_SPECIFIC_DATA,0x60,0x61,};  Now what i want it's change the values of data packets, so i've tried to call a function from custom_app.c but seems to crash and i can't see any beacon.What do you suggest to change the values?Thanks! void CustomPrint(){printf("Called\n"); tBleStatus status;uint8_t adv_data[12] ={  7, AD_TYPE_COMPLETE_LOCAL_NAME, 'C', 'H', 'A', 'N', 'G', 'E',  /* Complete name */  3, AD_TYPE_MANUFACTURER_SPECIFIC_DATA,0x70,0x71,};status =aci_gap_update_adv_data(adv_data, (uint8_t*) adv_data);printf("End \n");}

Hi Team,We would like to know how the detection threshold works . There will be 16 detection threshold for 16 blocks (4x4 sensor) . Will the interrupt be fired when any one of the threshold is met or all the 16 blocks detection threshold is met ?Please clarify us on the above query.Regards,Vikaash.K.B

Hello,I'm working on a project that requires the implementation of NB-IoT and to do this I started by testing the Discovery Kit B-L462CELL1, which is very poorly documented. I also noticed that the LBADXX1SC modem used by the kit is now obsolete.Can you recommend a development board from ST Microelectronics that would enable me to do NB-IoT (with zephyr would be a plus)?Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,I'm working with the LoRaWAN extension for STM32CubeIDE, specifically the LoRaWAN_End_Node project from STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V2.1.0. I need to control some GPIO pins, setting them HIGH and LOW in specific situations. To do that, I want to initialize them to LOW and then toggle them as needed.The problem is that this project does not include a .ioc file, and I'm not sure how to add one to an existing project. If I create a new project from scratch, I do get the .ioc file and can configure the pins easily, but I don’t know how to generate or integrate it into this existing project.Does anyone know how to add a .ioc file to an STM32CubeIDE project that doesn’t have one? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance!

The LXRW Variable Capacitors used on the Reference Design ST25R3916-DISCO  / STEVAL-25R3916B are now marked as Last Buy by Murata. What alternatives are recommended for new designs? Thanks,Nick

Hi all,I used another display with exactly the same resolution with my display for my DK.  If I change the display setup manually for different display's clock settings, I am able to display the image correctly.  Is there a way for me to modify the display's related settings using TouchGFX Designer 4.24.2?Secondly, once the code is generated by the Designer.  I can modify the GPIO/Peripheral/Timers using CubeMX, but once the code is generated by CubeMX, there are folder and files related to TouchGFX were deleted.  I had to go back to TouchGFX and re-generated the code in order for the deleted files to reinstate.What is the correct process should I follow in order for not losing files from generated by TouchGFX Designer?Thank you so much for all of your helps.

Hello ST Community, I am trying to set up SPI communication between two STM32 microcontrollers (two NUCLEO-F401RE boards); one as an SPI master and the other as an SPI slave. For now, I am only trying to transmit only one byte (0x61). For this I am using STM32’s HAL Library, and its functions HAL_SPI_Transmit_IT() and HAL_SPI_Receive_IT.On the slave, the HAL_SPI_RxCpltCallback() and the code inside it (setting a flag) are being executed, meaning that the slave is attempting to receive data sent by the master. However, the data in the SPI receive buffer is always 0x00 (serial terminal shown below; displaying "0" for every SPI receive interrupt occurrence). Termite serial terminal outputting "0" upon every occurance of SPI receive interrupt I need to have the master and the slave operating in Full-Duplex Master and Full-Duplex Slave modes respectively (both with interrupts), however, when setting them in Transmit Only Master and Receive Only Slave, and disabling interrupts

Hi,I'm trying to add external out-of-tree module in developer package. (following wiki)After following wiki, I got error message in board(STM32MP157F-DK2) like this. modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'kernel_module_example': Exec format error There was a difference with wiki while proceeding according to wiki's explanation.In wiki, the "kernel_module_example.ko" is generated in [install_artifact/lib/modules/"<kernel version>"/extra/].But, my .ko file is generated in [install_artifact/lib/modules/"<kernel version>"/updates/] Is there anything else I need to do to add external out-of-tree module? - Ubuntu version (PC) : ubuntu 20.04 lts- Board : STM32MP157F-DK2- source code version : 24.11.06 (stm32mp1-openstlinux-6.6-yocto-scarthgap-mpu-v24.11.06)   Thanks.Regards, Youngjun.

Hi, I am using the STM32U575.In my application, I have to transfer ADC readings to a destination buffer. I have set the DMA source address to the ADC data register (16-bit), and the destination address to a memory buffer start address. The data width is 16-bits or half word, as per the STM32 size definitions.My requirement is that I need to fill the ADC 1024 samples into the memory and after receiving these, transfer them to another buffer, that is connected to a UART, to be transmitted out.However, I need to increment the DMA destination buffer address by 32 bits, after each sample from the ADC, meaning, leave alternate half words empty. The data would look like this in the memory buffer:ADDR 0: fill with sample 1 (16 bits)   - increment DMA destination address by one word (32-bits)ADDR 2: empty - 16- bitsADDR4: fill with sample 2 (16 bits) - increment DMA destination address by one word (32-bits)ADDR6: empty - 16 bits........and so on till the 1024th location

Body:Hello STM32 Community,I’m facing an issue with EXTI interrupts on my Nucleo-G0B1RE board (STM32G0B1RE). The EXTI interrupt doesn’t trigger, even though the configuration appears correct, and I’ve tested both hardware and software triggers. I’ve tried multiple pins (PA0, PA1, PA8, PC13) and created a fresh STM32CubeMX project, but the issue persists. The SysTick interrupt works fine, indicating that the interrupt system is partially functional. I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions to resolve this issue.Problem DescriptionI’m trying to set up an EXTI interrupt on PA0 to trigger on a rising edge. PA0 is configured with a pull-down resistor, and I toggle it by connecting it to VDD (3.3V) to generate a rising edge. The GPIO input works (PA0 detects voltage changes), but the EXTI interrupt never triggers. I’ve also tried forcing a software EXTI interrupt using EXTI->SWIER1, but that doesn’t work either. However, the SysTick interrupt works perfectly, so the issue seems specific

How does the bootloader in the STM32C071 system memory generate its 12-character USB serial number string descriptor (e.g. "205537C24236")?  I notice some similarities between this serial number and the 96-bit unique device ID at address 0x1FFF7550, but overall they look very different.  I'm asking because I would like my firmware to use the same serial number as the bootloader, and being able to use a compact serial number would be beneficial as well.Here are some examples of the 96-bit unique ID (hex formatted, with dashes after every 2 bytes) and the corresponding 12-character USB serial number:1: 7A00-2500-0150-3642-4837-3020, 205537C242362: 7B00-5700-0150-3642-4837-3020, 208737C342363: 7B00-2700-0150-3642-4837-3020, 205737C342364: 7B00-8100-0150-3642-4837-3020, 20B137C34236I looked at the documentation of the unique ID in RM0490, section 30.1, but that documentation was partially incorrect and did not help.

I'm developing a tool to gang program STM32 products. I'm currently working on the STM32F411 (reference manual RM0383) and the FLASH_CR register SNB field mentions two sectors: user specific sector and user configuration sector. The user configuration sector is documented later in the manual but the user specific sector is only mentioned twice and not elaborated on. At a guess, I'd say its for the OTP region, but OTP can't be erased so its unclear. I've checked other RMs and some mention the user specific sector but don't elaborate on it either. Can anyone tell me what the "user specific sector" is and what I'm erasing if I set SNB to 0b1100 for an erase operation?Thanks,Keith

 Is there a way to have this breakpoint only enabled at the start of the debug session?So, when the code is first loaded, it will stop at main(); but then after subsequent resets I set my own breakpoint.It doesn't appear in the list of breakpoints, so I can't clear/disable it from there.

Hi,I have the ST25R3911B-DISCO connected to my Win 10 laptop and ST25R3911B Discovery GUI software is not finding the board.When I select Tag Editor in the software this is the message returned This is the message received when I try to upgrade the FWIt appears that the USB driver for the board is not installed correctly. I also tried this same install on a Win 11 and another Win 10 machine with the exact same results. What am I missing? Do I need to install a USB driver to allow the ST25R3911B Discovery GUI to see the board?

Hi to all.I'm trying the VL53L4CD nucleo expansion board. My goal is to use this ToF sensor to detect a very small change in  distace, starting from about 5 mm.The idea is use this VL53L4CD  sensor to detect if the distace become greater than 5mm. (5 mm could be from 2 to 6. No measurement is necessary).I have read the other posts and I agre than VL53L4CD can't be used for measurement < 7mm (better 10).But can it be used as a  "switch"? Is this VL53L4CD  the correct choice?

Hi,I am currently working with the example projects from the ST25FTM library inside the STSW-ST25R-LIB. In the AN5512 it is mentionend that the file "st25ftm_config_hal.h" needs to be provided and is the same for all NFC readers.This file (in the examples) contains the macro "#define ST25FTM_CRYPTO_ENABLE 0". But the AN5512 doesn't mention this macro and also when I search for references to this macro in the project it doesn't find any.My question is: does this macro do anything when defined as 1? And if not, what other options are there for the ST25R3916B reader (or STM readers in general) in terms of encryption?Kind regards,Jonas

Hi,I bought a VL53L1X Breakout board ToF sensor that I want to connect to a Raspberry Pi 3.I need to connect the VIN, GND, SDA and SCL.The documentation shows which pins are what, but it confuses me, as the layout in the documentation seems to be different than the boards itself.Of the 10 pin holes on the board, one hole has a square around it, indiciating that would be pin 1. Across would be pin 2, and then on to the next row for the rest.The square is on the outside column of the board.However in the documentation pin 1 is on the inside column of the board.What is the correct way to connect this?VIN isn't specified on the board, does it have adifferent name?I'm new to all of this, so I'm sorry if I ask the obvious.Any help much appreciated.

I do not know if this is appropriate place to ask but I will try. We are integrating the STM STL library and we cannot get the flash test to be successful.This, this, this nor this helped. I believe we are generating the checksums correctly, we tried either post-build step as recommended in the user manual or running the script separately in the CMD. We can see that the CRCs are written in the memory the same way they are written in the .elf. StlFlashStatus is being set to STL_FAILED every time.Our MCU is STM32H723ZG with 1 MB of flash. Therefore in the configuration, ROM start address is set to 0x08000000UL and ROM end address is set to 0x080FFFFFUL. We are trying flow similar to the default examples, either single test or multiple tests. ROM start address is set to 0x08000000U, even when trying to check 1 flash section, StlFlashStatus is set to STL_FAILED.Unfortunately we do not have Nucleo H743ZI to test the example project

Hello to everyoneI'm using the board NUCLEO-C071RB. I already done the firmware, and it seems work fine.Because now i must build my board i check again my project:I forgot to set PF0-PF1 (Osci IN OUT) and PC14-PC15(OSCX IN OUT). It would huge problem so why does the MCU work fine?

Is there a way to see how CubeIDE is expanding/pre-processing this code?typedef struct { int16_t x; int16_t y; int16_t z; } TouchPoint; #define TS_Point(_x, _y, _z) { .x = _x, .y = _y, .z = _z } TouchPoint Touch_FT6236_GetPoint(uint8_t n) { Touch_FT6236_ReadData(); if ((touches == 0) || (n > 1)) { return ((TouchPoint)TS_Point(0, 0, 0)); } else { return ((TouchPoint)TS_Point(touchX[n], touchY[n], 1)); } } Its compiling, but I'm getting weird values.

Hi,on the STM32MP257-DK board, the wires between the MPU and the RAM have an interesting shape:What is the reason for these non-direct wires? Have the same length for all the wires? Shielding? Some noise-thingy?Thanks!

Dear Community,i'm looking for a solution for NFC antenna of range ~10mm and M24SRxx-Y. The space on double layer PCB (1.6mm) is limited to max. +/- 20mm x 8mm, tag should be read by a mobile app.Does anyone experienced / has a reference design for such requirements ? I have found a MATRIX-M24SR - Matrix of multiple antenna for M24SR - Documentation purpose only - STMicroelectronics - there is a SMD coil antenna which can fit, but I'm afraid that it will not couple well with mobile antenna, which probably is much bigger. Does anoyone tested this antenna design on bench, what is a reading distance and performance ?Thanks for help and regards !
