Greeting, this is my first ever post on the forum so i hope the topic can be interesting to others.I was working with the ISM330 gyro, reading the datasheet and i noticed that the gyro rate sensitivity seems to be a bit off. Here is what they mention in the datasheet, when i look at the angular rate sensitivy (let assume we have put a full scale range of 2000 dps) the typical value here is 70 mdps/LSB with the tolerance of +-2%. This value doesnt seem to map all the 16 bit signed integer because if you do the math with 70 mdps/LSB the full scale range is actually 2293 dps not 2000 dps, that's like 14% deviation. I don't really know if its intended like this but it's obviously strange, i have worked on many other gyros previously, let say for example mpu6500 or mpu6050 and they don't seem to have this mismatch issue.I have looked up the issue and found a blog post of a japanese that also experience this frustration with the ISM330 (https://rofumi.net/gyroscope-ism330dhcx-angle/ ).

Hi all,I ran into an issue regarding FreeRTOS tickless idle mode. I wanted to share my findings and solution in case others encounter the same problem and also to ask if that's intended structure (so I am missing something) or if its not generated properly. Background:I was using SysTick as the OS kernel timebase.Tickless idle was enabled (configUSE_TICKLESS_IDLE = 1).I noticed that the portNVIC_SYSTICK_COUNT_FLAG_BIT was cleared unexpectedly during sleep, which caused the tickless idle implementation (vPortSuppressTicksAndSleep) to miscalculate elapsed ticks.Debugging revealed that the auto-generated SysTick_Handler in cmsis_os2.c was clearing the COUNTFLAG, even in tickless mode. The autogenerated handler looked like this:  void SysTick_Handler(void) { /* Clear overflow flag */ SysTick->CTRL; if (xTaskGetSchedulerState() != taskSCHEDULER_NOT_STARTED) { xPortSysTickHandler(); } }Reading the Cortex-M documentation shows that reading SYST_CSR clears the COUNTFLAG.This m

I'm using CMake presets to setup a bunch of variables (ccache launcher, build type, toolchainfile, binaryDir). My binaryDir is outside of source tree:"${sourceParentDir}/build/${sourceDirName}/${presetName}"And vscode configure fails to find arm-none-eabi-gcc, it seems that the process seeks the .settings/bundles.store.json to find the correct gnu-tools-for-stm32 but it fails since it look up cmake binary dir instead of cmake source dir. Copying my .settings directory does fix it, but I have multiple projects lying on the same place and I don't want to mix their settings. Is this an intended behavior or should the .settings files be searched in source dir instead ? Thanks

Hi Sir,I tried to refer to the PWM example:~\stm32cubeh7-v1-12-0\STM32Cube_FW_H7_V1.12.0\Projects\STM32H743I-EVAL\Examples\TIM\TIM_PWMOutput I see the four GPIO pins are initialized: And I see the four PWM channels are setup: But I can't find the code where each GPIO pin is bound to each PWM channel or the ISR where each GPIO is toggled whenever a PWM channel interrupt occurs. Please advise. Thanks. Jimmy

Exploring ADC discontinuous mode with interrupts. Any issues calling HAL_ADC_Start_IT() from ADC ISR? Looks like a lot of code to run from an ISR.

Hello,[Question]How should I modify the sample project so that I can achieve the expected current consumption in standby mode (as described in the user manual)?[Board]NUCLEO-U385RG-Q[Development Environment]STM32CubeIDE 1.19.0STM32CubeMX 6.15.0[PWR_STANDBY]I am using the sample project “PWR_STANDBY” generated from STM32CubeMX 6.15.0. I would like to modify this project for my purpose.[Goal]I want to put the board into standby mode, measure the current through JP4, and reproduce the expected value described in the user manual (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32u385rg.pdf, page 115).[Current Situation]When I run the sample project without any modification, I measure about 255 µA. This is much higher than the expected value in the user manual.Thank you for your advice and support.

TL;DR: Two-node bus: STM32 (FDCAN1) ↔ CANable (SocketCAN) at 500 kbit/s candump can0 shows frames from STM32, but STM32 keeps flagging ACK error and increments TxErrorCnt. Scope on CANH/CANL (diff trace CH1–CH2) shows a dominant ACK bit in the ACK slot (!) External loopback works. Looks like my MCU isn’t “seeing” the ACK at its RX input—looking for eyes on transceiver mode pins, RX pin mapping/AF, and timing. Hardware MCU: STSpin32G4  Transceiver: SN65HVD230DR Other node: CANable / candleLight  on Linux as can0. Wiring: STM32 TXD/RXD ↔ CAN transceiver ↔ twisted pair to CANable. Termination: 120 Ω at each end (I can measure ~60 Ω between CANH–CANL with power off; will re-check if requested). Ground: Common GND between boards. If helpful, I have shared the schematic snippet for the transceiver pins .What works vs. what failsWorks External loopback mode: frames “succeed.” candump sees frames from STM32 in normal mode. Scope on CANH/CANL shows clean dominant bits. The

Hello everyone,I want to use a C05300 based display with DSI. I can write and read in LP mode, but not in HS mode. I guess it's a timing problem. As seen from datasheet, UI should be more than 2ns, so I use a 500MHz bit clock.I use 24 bit data format to send data over DSI, so Pixel Clk = 480 x 2 / 24 = 40 MHz. I there something I miss?

Hello ST Community - I am seeking to migrate a functioning HTTP Client application from a SAMD51 MCU to STM32 silicon, I have an STM32H573I-DK on hand, objectives: HTTP Client Ethernet (wired) connectivity using a static IP address Storing retrieved JSON objects on an SD card DIsplaying selected attributes on the 240x240 LCD Other than the demo program, I have not deeply explored the STM32H573I-DK. Any configuration, and coding tips / examples would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks much, Kelly

I created a Boot/App/ExtMemLoader project for my NUCLEO-H7S3L8 via the STM32CubeMX for STM32CubeIDE, and ran into issues when running the application code from the external NOR Flash chip on the NUCLEO board (U18, P/N MX25UW25645GXDI00 on the schematic).  The Boot and ExtMemLoader applications run just fine.  However, the App would not run with the default config generated in STM32CubeMX.  Screenshot here:After changing the FifoThresholdByte to `1`, setting the size to 256Mbit, and reducing the XSPI clock to 180MHz, I was able to get the application to run.  I probably should double-check which of these settings are necessary.  Although I can now have it execute the Application from the external FLASH, I am now running into issues when setting breakpoints and debugging the application.  The debugger stops responding entirely, and I have to kill the GDB instances in order to recover.I wonder if something in the XSPI config is still off. Is there a way

The datasheet for STM32H573 (WLCSP80 package, rev 5 p. 251) says that the leftmost ball (in the bottom view on the datasheet) is F=0.384mm from the package edge. Horizontal ball pitch is 0.35mm*(1/2)*√3. Therefore centering the ball array horizontally would give F = 3.50/2 - 0.35*(9/4)*√3 = 0.386mm.This 2 micron difference has led to some discussion about whether the ball array should be horizontally centered within the package edges on PCB footprints. (Additional discussion arose from my initial misunderstanding of the datasheet. The datasheet could possibly be improved by measuring the margin to the top row rather than the second row. But now that I realize this, the question about horizontal centering still remains).Does ST have any insight about this 2 micron offset that might give a PCB designer confidence that it was truly intended? Can ST (or the ST community) give a recommendation about whether (or not) to update the KiCad libraries to include this 2 micron offset?

Good morning. I am trying to evaluate a P-NUCLEO-53L8A1 evaluation kit. I downloaded the software example from your website and unzipped it. I then attached the eval board to a USB port on my laptop (running Win 11). It enumerates as a STLink VCP.     I then added the cup detect binary file to the evaluation board as described in the manual. The file copies into the folder specified in the user manual (also LD1 on the eval board blinks). When the copy process is complete, the folder then momentarily disappears and the re-appears with the file removed. When I then run the Cup Detect executable I get the following error Could you please advise how I can resolve this issue? I also tried running the GUI on two other laptops (one using WIN11, the other WIN10). On both laptops the GUI does not launch. Thank you very much.

MCU used : STM32H753ZITx LQFP144CubeMx version : 6.13.0Situtation: I have a IOC file with some configurations on ADC1, like "Left Bit Shift" set to "4 bits shift" and "Conversion Data Management" to "DMA One Shot Mode".Those modifications are not translated into the generation ADC init in main.cI need to edit this by myself by callingADC_REG_InitStruct.DataTransferMode = LL_ADC_REG_DMA_TRANSFER_LIMITED;ADC_InitStruct.LeftBitShift = LL_ADC_LEFT_BIT_SHIFT_4;

When I setup my STM32CubeProject the NUCLEO-U5A5ZJ-Q  does not show up as option. No U5 devices show up. Is there a pack or something else I need to install? Thanks

Hello everyone,I am working on the STM32U5G9ZJT6Q MCU and am trying to use the JPEG Encoder by feeding him data through a GPDMA linkedlist mode from RAM. The data to encode is an image of 640*480 8-bit grayscale image (the image is stored in a .c file ; for jpeg, i use tables 0, no chrominance in sight).I am not using the HAL methods for jpeg/dma, eventhough the JPEG_DMA_StartProcess inside HAL_JPEG_Encode_DMA in stm32u5xx_hal_jpeg.h function seems to support dma linkedlist transfers.I ran the JPEG_EncodingFromFLASH_DMA example for stm32u5g9 discovery kit, without issue, but having to work with normal dma transfers and having to handle the input/output in interrupts seems a bit off to me. I would like to use the linkedlist for simpler automation.I configured the jpeg_rx (input) and jpeg_tx (output) dma transfers as linkedlists. The jpeg output works fine, the nodes are correctly updated and stream data as wanted. However, the jpeg input dma stalls after the first node, eventhough the ne

Hello again :)I have used all ideas including chat GPT. I can't see any changes in I2C line with oscilloscope. STM32G0B1KBU3N have Pin PB9 as SDA and PA9 as SLC. 3.3Volts pull up via 4.7 kOhm resistor. I am trying negotiate with LM51772 DC-DC buck-boost converter. No external clock crystal. I am sure the issue in the code but because lack op experience cant see where. Hello, is it possible to convert all the codes and libraries of the project into a flowchart that is also editable? Thank you.

Hello,   I work with a STM32L031K6TxLQFP32. I can already send a SMS by connecting a SIM card.  Can someone tell if I can control a SIM card, so I can send and received an Email or, if it doesen't work, because of what value it would fail? Thanks in advance.#stm32#email

Hi all,i'm working on a project involving BLE and I wanted to use the P-NUCLEO-WB55 board as a BLE sniffer as described here: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/Connectivity:STM32_Sniffer_for_BLE_Setup_guide#HardwareI managed to find a P-NUCLEO-WB55 board used by a colleague for old projects and I was trying to follow the guide at previous link to set-up the board but I cannot download the BLE stack, nor update the FUS. I am using STM32CubeProgrammer 2.20.0, and by reading FUS infos I get the following reply:The option bytes are set as listed in the attached file.I tried also to follow the procedure shown in this video (How to program a STM32WB55 with STM32CubeProgrammer ) having the following result:Is it possible to restore the stack on this board?  Kind regards,Andrea

I am working with LIS2DW12 configuring the INT1 for the activity/inactivity interrupt. With the below configurations (as provided in the datasheet), 1. Write 50h in CTRL1 // Turn on the accelerometer // ODR = 200 Hz, FS = ±2 g2. Write 42h in WAKE_UP_DUR // Set duration for inactivity detection // Set duration for wake-up detection3. Write 42h in WAKE_UP_THS // Set activity/inactivity threshold // Enable activity/inactivity detection4. Write 20h in CTRL4_INT1_PAD_CTRL // Activity (wake-up) interrupt driven to INT1 pin5. Write 20h in CTRL7 // Enable interruptsAs expected the interrupt is triggered as an when there is an activity (movement).I want the interrupt to be triggered when the activity is prolonged for 5 secs. I tried playing around with the CTRL1 & WAKE_UP_DUR settings. But results are not as expect. Kindly advice.

We bought the LSM6DSOX and installed into our equipment since 2021, please help to evaluate whether we need calibrate it. Are there any conditions that the sensor must be calibrated? Please show us the detailed steps for calibrating the sensor. Since the output acceleration information is very important for our application, could you 1) give us some reliability data from customer market (especially in Aviation Industry, we called FMEA: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis); 2) show us some basic principles for generating the acceleration data. From spec and application note of LSM6DSOX, we found it can support motion/stationary recognition, please show us more detail information with the reliability of this recognition and how to implement this function during practice. Are there any limitations or key points for installation of this sensor?

Please read this post: How to insert source code Hi  ,  I’m currently playing around with the STM32N66570-DK kit. I’m having a simple problem with button detection. For testing, I’m just using the USER1 button  (BP1 in my code ) and LED1. I couldn’t get the button working properly with interrupts, so in this code I just read the state of USER1 ( BP1) and turn LED1 on or off accordingly.  The USER1 button is always read as the same value, no matter whether I press it or not.     in debug Mode :  GPIOx const GPIO_TypeDef * 0x56020800GPIO_Pin uint16_t 8192bitstatus GPIO_PinState GPIO_PIN_RESET   Here are the code and screenshots. The code was generated with CubeMX. Thanks for your help! Once I get the button detection working, I’ll move on to using interrupts. Emmanuel main.

Hello,I'm using RFAL with the ST25R3916 to emulate NDEF tags. The tag emulation works perfectly. Now, I'd like to get the RSSI when the emulated tag is read.My problem is that rfalGetTransceiveRSSI() and even the low evel st25r3916GetRSSI() always return 0, wherever I use them (after device is activated, after or before data exchange, ...).These functions return a correct RSSI value when the ST25R3916 is used as a reader; but not when it's used as a tag emulator.Any idea how I can get the RSSI when the emulated tag is read ?Thanks !

Hi, I am trying to confiure my FSM on LSM6DSV320X chip following the instructions from AN6291LSM6DSV320X: finite state machine document. But in the document on page 52 line 18 it says: Write 41h to register 02h // PAGE_SEL = 4. But there is no description about "page 4". I would be really thankful to be helped with this issue. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks and regardsY@TDK @Andrew Neil

Hello,I am trying to use Nucleo-H563ZI with SPI display (ILI9431) with Single Frame buffer but i couldn't configure it and didn't find appropriate example. Do anyone have used SPI display with Single Frame Buffer? Any help would be great.I do have sufficient space to implement single Frame Buffer. I am lacking knowledge for implementation.I have successfully used partial frame buffer but there was a problem, whenever i used .invalidate() to update textArea other box flicker in the display. On the partial frame buffer i used SPI with DMA. Thank youkind regards,Binod Basnet
