Posted on November 21, 2017 at 23:34I like to use the Sleep-to-wake and Return-to-sleep feature of the LIS2DE12. I am wondering what axis value is compared with the threshold value (ACT_THS). Can I select the axis? Posted on November 24, 2017 at 15:19Hi All,I was working on getting user input via keyboard over uart. The input could be varible length. To handle this issue I use HAL uart receive DMA (circualr mode). To get input and and tranfer it over uart, i got an example which actually serves my purpose fine. The example is by pasztora and link is given below: <LINK NO LONGER ACTIVE>Now I implement my task in STM32L476RG Nucelo board and it was absolutely fineIn the example mentioned above, there is code block,if((USART2->ISR & USART_ISR_IDLE) != RESET){    USART2->ICR = UART_CLEAR_IDLEF;    /* Start DMA timer */    dma_uart_rx.timer = DMA_TIMEOUT_MS; }Well, for my client project I got a board which has STM32F401RETx. But for the STM32F401RETx board I dont get defined the below:USART2->ISRUSART2->ICRUSART_ISR_IDLEUART_CLEAR_IDLEFMy question is why those above mentioned are not defined? and wha

Posted on November 27, 2017 at 01:14Hi I planning to use either SPIRIT1 or S2-LP for my project on WMBus. Refering to the schematic (http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/layouts_and_diagrams/schematic_pack/d0/6d/01/df/b4/8f/43/75/steval-ikr002v4b_schematic.pdf/files/steval-ikr002v4b_schematic.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.steval-ikr002v4b_schematic.pdf), there are these four resistors (R6-R7 in the lower left corner) which are soldered for the selected operation frequency. These are shown to be connected between GND to GND !!  Can anyone explain how do these resistors work and affect the frequency of operation? It may be that these are placed on the PCB exactly at the position needed so that the board will operate at the selected frequency. I am not sure and it is very confusing without any information.  Would anyone please explain?Really appreciate your help!!Thanks in advance!Silas#balun #spirit1-wmbus

Posted on November 21, 2017 at 13:27 Dear All, I'd like to test an ADC conversion using ADC example from STM32F3Discovery's peripheral examples. I connected ADC1 channel(PC1) and GND to external power supply directly. and It was measured anormalvoltage between PC1 and GND using FLUKE Multimeter 8846A. But, as attached the ADC value on Terminal I/O, theresults are very unstable. Is that due to the bad connection for ADC input source? or I cannot catch the problem exactly. Could you please help the issue? 1. supplying 0V to ADC1 channel(PC1) 2. supplying 1.0V to ADC1 channel(PC1)

Posted on November 21, 2017 at 15:54According to this page http://www2.keil.com/mdk5/selector/ the Lite Keil edition does support Cortex-M0/M0+/M3/M4/M7.Does STM's F4 series belong to the category of ARM M4? If yes, why the Lite MDK license does not let me to target STM F4 boards such as Nucleo?(If this is relevant, I've already requested a license for STM F0 on my machine successfully, because earlier I played with STM F0 device. But now I need to switch to F4)Regards,Pavel#keil-mdk5 #free-keil

Posted on November 20, 2017 at 20:53Dear all,I am trying to set-up a new board using an stm32H743.In my tests, I initialized the MPU in order to use the cache L1 with the Flash. When I initialize the MPU to use the cache, the results are really impressive (about 1.8 faster than without L1).Unfortunately, the system is not stable; I often have 'hardfault' situation.Any suggestion of how to use L1 with the internal Flash? Here is my initialization code before activating the cache.Best regards  Edo ...// New attributes for the FLASH area (0x08000000)// Change the attribute only in the executable area   MPU->CTRL = 0x00000000;    // Disable the MPU    MPU->RNR  = 0x00000000;    // Region 0    MPU->RBAR = 0x08000000 | (1<<4) | (0<<0); // Address, valid & region 0    MPU->RASR = (0<<28)    // Instruction fetches enabled     &n

Posted on November 03, 2017 at 09:55Hello,I implemented a DMA with my LIS2HH12 to avoid losing datas. The problem is that my DMA is too fast, I am able to read at 1.8kHz (1800 (x,y,z) datas in 1 second) thanks to my DMA but the max ODR that I can choose on my accelerometer is 800Hz.So I am wasting a lot of memory with my DMA cause if I choose a 400Hz ODR if have a new data available each 4 or 5 sample. As I understood, it is not possible to change the DMA speep. Did I miss something on the datasheet that could help me to solve my problem ? FIFO is interesting but while reading all the registers to get (x,y,z) datas, I will loose some datas ?Note : I don't want an interrupt when new data available cause it will stop my program everytime

Posted on December 19, 2016 at 19:16We are using a STM32F769 to drive a 400x400 DSI display. What could we do to about double the current writing speed or to identify what is the bottleneck? LTDC is set up for sending data from SRAM1 for DSIHOST that is running in Adapted Command Mode. Drawing works ok but is limited to about 35 Frames Per Second, which with 24bit pixels and one display data lane is about 135 Mbps (when DSI should be  capable of 500).The problem does NOT seem to be LTDC clocking or DSI line speed: Slowing down the clocks for LTDC (APB2 and PLLSAI1) does not significantly affect the performance. Neither does changing the PLL DSI dominate the performance (with 125 Mbps DSI line speed 19fps, with 250 Mbps 27fps).  Changing HCLK linearly changes the DSI performance, even when keeping PLLDSI, PLLSAI1 and APB2 the same. In this testing we send the same frame buffer without drawing to it so there is no MCU computation load or significant memory/AHB access

Posted on November 17, 2017 at 17:36Hello everyone,I was researching about the TSC (Touch Sensing Controller) of my Board Nucleo L053R8 and I found that there it has  something called 'the analog switch'.The TSC is composed of several groups. Each group is composed of 4 I/Os being one of them dedicated for one  reference capacitor (Cs) while the other 3 are dedicated for connecting capacitive buttons. What I suspect is that one analog switch belong to one group, and it can be used to connect internally the I/Os of a group.Does anyone have experience with this topic? any code example? Mi goal is to connect internally and programatically two I/Os for certain time and after separate them.Thank you all. Any help is highly appreciated.Best regards,Diego Ballen#stm32-l0 #analog-switch #tsc

Posted on September 03, 2017 at 16:05In stm32f407xx.h  V2.6.1  14-February-2017 as seen in CubeF4 1.15 and 1.16, the definition section under/********************  Bit definition for OTG register  ********************/repeats twice (around 2x42 lines). Moreover, these definitions are duplicating the USB_OTG_GRXSTSP definitions and contrary to the latter they don't appear to be used anywhere else in Cube at all, so IMO both copies can be removed with no consequences whatsoever.JWPS. My ever-repeating request for adding non-single-bit bitfield values definitions into the CMSIS-mandated device headers still stands.

Posted on November 19, 2017 at 00:05I can't get the FIFO to work. The LSM6DSM is connected to a microcontroller via SPI. The sensor works fine when I use the status register and data registers to get the accel and gyro data. But for higher ODR I want to use the FIFO to read the data in bursts of 10 data sets each. It looks like it would work properly, I do get the WaterM flag when there are 60 words in the FIFO and it takes the appropriate time for the flag to return after reading. But the data is useless. It is always the sate static data which has nothing to do with the actual sensor data. The FIFO runs in continuous mode (110), FIFO ODR 6.66 kHz. Threshold is set to 60 (dec), accel and gyro are set to no decimation, 3rd and 4th data set are off as are all other options. I read FIFO_Status1 to check the WaterM flag and check FIFO_Status3 to see if the pattern is zero. Both accel and gyro run at the same ODR.Reading is done by sending $BE (register $3B plus read bit) and then doing a r

Posted on November 15, 2017 at 22:40I am trying to make the can interface work on the STM32F4Discovery board.I did create a project with Cube, and noted CAN1 as being on PD0 and 1.Then I created a can message and am trying to send it through CAN1 with HAL_CAN_Transmit...My circuit, only the pins PD0 and 1 are pulled up to 3V, rest is left alone , as I want to see something happen on those pins.I see in the debugger that:1) When pulling down PD0 or PD1, CAN does not initialize - It fails with timeout in the initialization of the hardware2) When pulling up PD0 and PD1, CAN does initialize3) When doing the HAL_CAN_Transmit, it fails with a timeout. If I connect a oscilloscope on the PD0 and 1, they are both high and do not toggle; nothing happens.Question: Without anything connected to the pins except a pullup (2k resistor) should I expect something to happen? This is my code for trying to send messages:CanTxMsgTypeDef mes;    mes.DLC = 8; //Length of data
