Posted on March 26, 2018 at 16:28Hi!I'm curently using the B-L072Z-LRWAN1 (STM32L072 and LoRa board) with the STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V1.1.4, and i'm trying to reduce the current consumption using this board.I'm currently running into a high current draw from the power supply (when i'm forcing the board to get into stop mode at the first line possible in the main, i still draw over 3mA from the power supply)I've tried to reduce the leakage from various ways (removed D2, no LED active, removed R19 to remove the link between battery and ST-link)However i'm still unable to guess where does the extra mA are going...At the start of my main, i'm using the insctruction HAL_PWR_EnterSLEEPMode(PWR_MAINREGULATOR_ON, PWR_SLEEPENTRY_WFI) (i've tried with stop and standby aswell, same current draw) and getting about 3.4mA at all time...During normal use, my current usage is about 25mA when transmitting and 13mA when receiving, not dropping below the 13mA (so I guess I'm not really entering sleep

Posted on April 09, 2018 at 16:58 Hello, I have a Nucleo-L476RG and I am trying to debug using openocd. I am able to reach main() function, but when it calls SystemClock_Config() get stuck in:while(LL_RCC_PLL_IsReady() != 1) The firmware does not get stuck when running without debug. This happens only in debug mode. void SystemClock_Config(void) { /* MSI configuration and activation */ LL_FLASH_SetLatency(LL_FLASH_LATENCY_4); LL_RCC_MSI_Enable(); while(LL_RCC_MSI_IsReady() != 1) { }; /* Main PLL configuration and activation */ LL_RCC_PLL_ConfigDomain_SYS(LL_RCC_PLLSOURCE_MSI, LL_RCC_PLLM_DIV_1, 40, LL_RCC_PLLR_DIV_2); LL_RCC_PLL_Enable(); LL_RCC_PLL_EnableDomain_SYS(); while(LL_RCC_PLL_IsReady() != 1) { }; /* Sysclk activation on the main PLL */ LL_RCC_SetAHBPrescaler(LL_RCC_SYSCLK_DIV_1); LL_RCC_SetSysClkSource(LL_RCC_SYS_CLKSOURCE_PLL); while(LL_RCC_GetSysClkSource() != LL_RCC_SYS_CLKSOURCE_STATUS_PLL) { }; /* Set APB1 & APB2 prescaler*/ LL

Posted on April 07, 2018 at 15:15Hi all,To start with:Board: STM32H743ZI NucleoIDE: Attolic TrueSTUDIO for STM32 9.0.0HAL version: STM32Cube_FW_H7_V1.2.0I'm trying to trigger a DMA transfer on DMA1_Stream7 using TIMER 3 CC3.  I want to trigger a transfer from a variable into the CCR for TIM3 channel 3.I can initial the DMA stream to the configuration I think it should be in but as soon as the stream is enabled I get a transfer error and I can't work out what the problem is.Any help would be great.ThanksBelow is a screenshot of DMA1, stream 7 register values.Below is my DMA stream initialisation code:void setUpDMA(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim){static DMA_HandleTypeDef hdma_tim;/* Enable DMA clock */ __HAL_RCC_DMA1_CLK_ENABLE();/* Set the parameters to be configured */ hdma_tim.Init.Request = DMA_REQUEST_TIM3_CH3; hdma_tim.Init.Direction = DMA_MEMORY_TO_PERIPH; hdma_tim.Init.PeriphInc = DMA_PINC_DISABLE; hdma_tim.Init.MemInc = DMA_MINC_DISABLE; hdma_tim.Init.PeriphDataAlignmen

Posted on December 02, 2017 at 16:56I tried to use the FAT file system with a SD card and the SDIO protocol, but with the v1.18.00 of stm32Cube for F4 MCU's doesn't work correctly, I discovered the next issues.1.-  Inside of the FATFS configuration if the DMA tamplate is enable this module doesn't work2.-   BSP_SD_Init() isn't called nowhere endded I need to call manually after  MX_FATFS_Init().3.- DMA template is mandatory if FreeRTOS is enable.Now, this issues didn't watch in the version v1.17.00 of stm32Cube for F4. The same programe is funcional in this version but not in the v1.18.00. Any idea regarding this topic? Is necessary to enable the DMA module to work with the protocol SDIO ?

Posted on April 08, 2018 at 08:261) CTRL_REG3 (22h)Can I set both I1_IA1 and I1_IA2? 2) What is I1_321DA? 3) Our project uses two threshold, one for stronger force (e.g. collision), the other for weaker force (e.g. impact). I assume I should set INT1_THS and IT2_THS to the high/low threshold. But should I use both event on INT1 or separately e.g. INT1 for high event and INT2 for low event? 4) If INT1_THS is set to high threshold and INT2_THS is set to low threshold. The duration is set to same. So the trigger will satisfy INT2_THS firstly then IT1_THS. In this case, will the lis3x device generate two interrupt with IA1 first and IA2 second?

Posted on April 08, 2018 at 13:13I encountered a problem that IG2 doesn't get detected on either INT1 or INT2 pin. I confirm the IG1 work on both INT1 and INT2. Followings are the combinations I tried (CTRL REG1,2,4,5 kept unchanged):The INTx_CFG,INTx_THS, INTx_Duration are set same for IG1 and IG2.1) CTRL_REG1 - CTRL6{     0x57,      0x39,     0x40, //IG1 route to INT1     0x00,     0x40, //Enable FIFO mode     0, //Disable INT2 }In this configuration, IG1 is correctly detected on INT1 pin.2) CTRL_REG1 - CTRL6{     0x57,      0x39,     0x20, //IG2 route to INT1     0x00,     0x40, //Enable FIFO mode     0, //Disable INT2 }In this configuration, IG2 is *NOT* correctly detected on INT1 pin3)

Posted on April 08, 2018 at 20:55Dear ST community,I am currently working on being able to control a micro SD card via SPI and FatFS. Now to my initial situation. I have already generated a project via STCubeMX. The project information can be found in the appendix ''SDCard.pdf''. I am working with a STM32L475VG (BL475-IOT01A). I have already tested the SPI connection with a second controller. This works fine. The SD card has been connected as shown below: (CS -> NSS ?)Now I have some difficulties with controlling this card (Samsung Micro SD card 16GB SDHC). CubeMX shows the option ''user-defined'' under FatFs. According to Chan's description, I have to implement the low level disk I / O functions on my own. ''The low level device control module is not part of FatFs module and it needs to be provided by implementer'' ( chapter http://elm-chan.org/fsw/ff/00index_e.html). The manual of ST (UM1721 also in the appendix) gives already first hints, how the functions have to be added:

Posted on April 08, 2018 at 12:45Hello everyone,I want to use 100pin STM32F446 or STM32F722 microcontroller to drive an SDRAM. Bu in STM32Cube it doesn't have an SDRAM choice in FMC peripheral. When i select a 144pin version of these microcontrollers the SDRAM choice appears in STM32Cube.  So do i have to use a 144pin package to drive an SDRAM in FMC module instead of 100 pinned one#sdram #fmc #stm32f4 #stm32cube #stm32f7

Posted on October 16, 2017 at 14:15Hello,I am trying to log accelerations above 2g. To do so I parametrized the LIS3DH as following:- CTRL_REG0: 0x10- CTRL_REG1: 0x57 (100Hz + Xen + Yen + Zen)- CTRL_REG2: 0x00- CTRL_REG3: 0x40 (IA1 on INT1)- CTRL_REG4: 0xB0 (BDU + FS +/- 16g)- CTRL_REG5: 0x08 (INT1 Latched)- CTRL_REG6: 0x00- FIFO_CTRL_REG: 0x00- INT1_THS: 0x0A (+/- 16g  => 186 mg/LSb, 2000/186 = 0x0A)- INT1_DURATION: 0x00 (trigger INT1 as soon as the acceleration goes above threshold)- INT1_CFG: 0x2A (OR combination + Z high event + Y high event + X high event)Everything works fine, I get interrupts signals, read the acceleration available inside the corresponding buffers, clear the interrup. Whereas, I do not understand some results that I get.First issue, I do not understand how the sensitivity for the +/-16g is obtained. For the other full scale modes there is a logic ( Normal mode: 8g /  (2^9) = 15,625 ~ 16 mg/LSb) but I can not find the logic for 16g.Assuming that th

Posted on March 19, 2018 at 07:28Hi All,I want to get detailed STS3921 datasheet(including pinmap, pacakge and other electronic specification) and reference design. on ST website, I can only find a brief introduction as below link. Would you please give a hand for how to get it? Thanks a lot.http://www.st.com/content/st_com/zh/products/secure-mcus/secure-wearable-solutions/sts3921.html BR,XiaoYa

Posted on April 06, 2018 at 21:47Now that encoder mode seems to be missing from CubeMX, at least for STM32F070 and STM32F407 devices, what is the most 'CubeMX-friendly' way to use it? The idea is to generate a CubeMX project, then run a script to make it a project for the IDE we're using. Both devices have encoder mode capable timers.And why is it, that I've seen F7xx devices configured to use encoder mode with CubeMX? Is the CubeMX itself different or what's the thing?#cube-mx #encoder-mode #quadrature-encoder

Posted on April 07, 2018 at 16:30Hello! I'm working with stm32f042 MCU. My task is to read GPIO 8-bit data (7-0 bits) periodically, the faster, the better. I use timer 3 to generate DMA request and DMA channel 4. The idea is the following one: timer periodically generates DMA request on update event, so GPIO->IDR is read. But it doesn't work. Timer doesn't generate DMA request, DMA counter doesn't change, no GPIO reading happens.Init code//DMA channel 4

Posted on April 06, 2018 at 16:49I have initialized SPI4 in STM32H7 controller, but the controller is not transmitting any signal. The other SPI ports i.e SPI2 and SPI3 ports are working fine in 8 bit mode. Please support us to solve this issue.#spi_transmit #stm32h7

Posted on February 27, 2017 at 17:11RM0410, rev.2 defines 0xF0FFAAFD as default value for FLASH_OPTCR. Table 3.7.8 has a value of 0xFFFFAAFD. This value does make more sense.Please correct, if not yet already done.

Posted on March 19, 2018 at 19:39Hello,I am reporting a hardware bug with the I2C peripheral in the newer STM32 families (STM32F7, STM32H7, STM32L0, STM32L4, and STM32L4+ familes) in I2C multi-master mode (including many SMBus host applications), and a few possible workarounds.  The STM32F1, STM32F2, STM32F4, and STM32L1 families are unaffected because they have an older I2C peripheral with its own flaws (like not being able to acknowledge its own address if it lost arbitration during that address).  I reported it to ST's technical support Dec 19, 2017 and they have still not confirmed a final workaround, so ST has confirmed today (Apr 5, 2018) this is a hardware bug and is in the process of updating the family errata sheets.  I'm sharing with the community in the hopes of saving someone else the trouble I went through.Most people using the I2C will NOT be affected by this bug.  It affects I2C multimaster mode, and in particular with DMA optimized transfe

Posted on January 17, 2018 at 13:11Hallo!Next to almost all other available nucelo boards I now own two STM32L4R5 Nucleo boards. The first one arrived last week, the second today. Long story short, i can not programm the Nucleo boards. Today i got a brand new borad, because i thought i might have bricked the other one. Connecting it first to PC the pre programmed  Push button & Blinking LED programm worked. Next step was checking the via ST-Link Upgrade the Firmware version which is V2.J29.M18 and seems to be up to date. I did not touch any jumper ( attached Photo) .So i opened the STM32L4R5ZI-Nucleo examples from CubeMX and opened one example with Keil MDK ARM uVision and build it. But Programming now showed plenty of Errors ( Attached JPG): Errors like:Content mismatch at: xxxxxx Flash xxxx...Error: Flash Download failedI also own a License of True Studio, so i generated a plain Project with cubeMX and also failed to programm the nucleo board, with a Error writing data to f

Posted on March 29, 2018 at 23:41Hello, I'm using an LSM303AGR thru I2C, and after a little struggling, everythings looks fine. I can read any of the 6 axes with what seems to be the right values, and the read values react correctly when I tild my board.So, why am I always getting a failure when executing the self-test procedure given in the datasheet ? I notice that the kind of failure depends on the tilt of the PCB: I sometimes gets a fail with the magnetometer, and other times I gets a fail with the accelerometer: the read values doesn't comply with the expected range...Any idea, anyone ?Thanks!#fail #self-test #lsm303agr

Posted on April 05, 2018 at 03:06 Hey everyone, I'm using a nucleo f722ze which has an onboard stm32f722ze. The problem: GPIO_D pin 9 remains above 1.5 V even when it's set as off(''reset state''). Every other pin I've used and tested doesn't resemble this behavior. They go straight down to 0V. Image of me toggling this pin: What I've done: I've literally generated a blank project and this pin still stays at 1.5V, I've tried initializing the pin and forcing it to the reset state, but still it stays at 1.5V. I'm not sure if I'm overlooking something, what could be causing this? Thanks in advance for any help! gpio-init reset-pin stmcube-gpio gpio-pin-configuration

Posted on April 05, 2018 at 10:21Using STM32CubeMX 4.25 to configure clock for STM32F767ZI I get PLL Mux Error, 'PLL Mux should have HSE as input' when I choose HSI as clock source. The external clock pins are disabled in the 'Pinout' configuration. The PLL N P Q R values are all good and throw no errors but HSI radio button selection in PLL Source Mux is highlighted with a red square and displays the error message when I mouse hover over. The clock wizard cannot fix it.Anyone know why please and how to fix this? The ioc file is attached.Thanks, John F.#pll
