Solved

I have created my own board based on the STM32L073RZ where I copied certain bits from the NUCLEO borad. I am having a problem where I can't connect to it using the STLINK. I have found out that even with only power plugged in the reset line is pulled low for no reason. I have double checked my schematic and the pinout of the chip. I have also tried adding a 10k to 3V3 but it is stilled low. It can't be that there is a short to ground because I have done a continuity check and they are not connected, the chip itself must be pulling it low. Can anyone help??

I am using the STM32L431 MCU and I want to stop the IWDG when it enters the standby mode, so I want to try changing the value of the IWDG_STDBY bit to freeze the IWDG. I tried with any of the the following instuctions but nothing works.CLEAR_BIT(FLASH->OPTR, FLASH_OPTR_IWDG_STDBY); FLASH->OPTR &= 0xFFFBFFFF; (FLASH->OPTR & FLASH_OPTR_IWDG_STDBY) = 0x0;I'd like to know if before I can change this register, another action must be done. Thanks!

New to STM8, I can create and upload new firmware, but I'd like to understand the reverse process in the event I need to use SWIM for root cause analysis of bad or damaged parts with multiple firmware versions. Imagine a drone with AI able to self-modify and update firmware of its components in real time eventually hitting a wall at high speed and you get the idea why this can be important. Suggestions to shorten the learning process? (I'm using a STM8VLDISCOVERY so I have ST-LINK with SWIM configured and hardwired to start).

I have a pulse input circuit with my counts going both into LPTIM1 input and TIM8 input 1. I am using capture compare to measure the frequency using TIM8. I would also like to use LPTIM1 in conjunction to keep the actual count of my pulses. When I send a pulse, I get an interrupt for my capture compare timer but do not get one on LPTIM1. My counts do seem to be increment using count =  HAL_LPTIM_ReadCounter(&hlptim1);However, the counts don't seem to be matching up. It increments maybe 3-4 counts every time I send 1.Here is my code: /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_USB_OTG_FS_PCD_Init(); MX_I2C1_Init(); MX_I2C2_Init(); MX_I2C3_Init(); MX_USART2_UART_Init(); MX_USART3_UART_Init(); MX_ADC1_Init(); MX_SPI1_Init(); MX_TIM8_Init(); MX_LPTIM1_Init(); MX_LPTIM2_Init(); MX_FMC_Init(); MX_RTC_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */  /*##-3- Start the Input Capture in interrup

Hi,I am trying to use all the 4 PGAs in the STM32F303 to amplify and measure some low voltage signals (100-200mV with a gain of 8 or 16) coming from a temperature sensor. Doing so on one channel works fine, and I am able to get accurate readings once the system has been calibrated. However, as soon as I start using a second channel with a second sensor, the value measured on the first channel drops by about 1% with no reason. And it gets even worse if I add a third channel.I reproduced this on the STM32F3 Discovery board with a very simple voltage divider, so I don't think my external hardware is a problem here.Has anybody ever experienced this problem? Is there an easy way to fix it?Thank you in advance for any help.JulienBelow is how the OPAMP and ADC are initiallised via the HAL library:/* OPAMP1 init function */ static void MX_OPAMP1_Init(void) {   hopamp1.Instance = OPAMP1; hopamp1.Init.Mode = OPAMP_PGA_MODE; hopamp1.Init.NonInvertingInput = OPAMP_NONINVERTINGINPUT_IO0; ho

Hello to all, I'm very new to AI and I tried different Keras model with Cube.AI to test my knowledge. Hello,I would like to know if it's possible to write from RAM to FLASH using a DMA.I tried to configure a DMA as memtomem, using the HAL_DMA_Start function but it doesn't work.Is it doable ?Thank you.François

Greetings to all.I'm new to this forum and new with STM32 too. So i decided to experiment (and mess) with them to learn something. Now the first problem. I am esperimenting with timers, and after i discovered we can't use HAL_Delay() inside a timer's interrupt calling, I used a workaround. I set a global variable as a switch, so the interrupt routine only changes the switch. The rest should be made in the while(). After some days changing the code, putting breakpoints, etc.. i surrender. Here is some code:#include "main.h"   int Bounce = 0; //Bounce Counter int swTim3 = 0; //Interrupt switch   /* some other code lines ...*/   while (1) { if (swTim3 > 0) { /* some code toggling the led*/ swTim3=0; //reset interrupt } }   void HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) { if (htim->Instance == TIM3) { swTim3=1; } }debugging the program, it does not enter inside the if (swTim3 > 0) {}. If I pause the debugging, it is saying me th

Hi there,is there any installation guide on how to use functions of the mbedTLS library (sha256, ecdh, ecdsa, ECC key generation) on a stm32f767zi with TrueSTUDIO as an ide?Thank you for your help. WorkingStudent

Hi,I need to generate a special waveform via DAC on a STM32F446. DAC samples must be generated at about 240kHz but with minimal jitter. A DMA channel with timer trigger will provide the data from internal RAM or flash. What best case - minimal - jitter can I expect on my output signal (between two DAC samples)? I expect jitter to be caused by STM32 internal arbitration etc.Matthias

Hello, I have an STM32F407G-DISC1 and it has not been fun. when I try to plug it into my PC it always goes to Unspecified in Device and printers. i have tried this on 2 pcs ant the same thing happens. Thank you if you read this!

I'm looking for the appropriate MCU to include as a main processing unit in a DAC product I'm designing. The product uses an XMOS for USB Audio and is in need for a central CPU with a more approachable programming model. I came around choosing between F4 and F7, because along with user interface tasks and housekeeping, the MCU will have to handle the SPDIF/RX signal input - I'm not keen on adding S/PDIF routing into XMOS I2S routines. I understand the F7 is substantially more powerful than the F4, so this begs the question: can I ditch the XMOS altogether and port the USB Audio Class to the F7? I mean does this part have the processing power to keep up with an audio signal that is 192k/32b?Another tricky one: the SAI port on the F7 does not support DSD, which in it's faster iterations can go up to 11MHz on the output. Do you think it is possible to output that sort of signal out of an F7? Some designs out there use CPLDs connected to the CPU to achieve DSD, would that be the case here?

I'm sure everyone else has noticed how the two pins to VCAP seem to be placed just over a complete side of the package away so there is bound to be some resistance/inductance in the tracking. I was wondering if anybody has ever hit problems with this, or how thick the tracking should be. Also the datasheets and app notes seem a bit inconsistent, some say 2.2uF, some two 2.2uF in parallel and others 4.7uF. Prefer to get the board right first time. Processor is a STMH7 series in 100 pin QFP

Currently I'm working with the Mini Usb cable, but debugging doesn't work properly... on YouTube I didn't find a video that helped me. Because although I did everything exactly like in the video, the program doesn't jump to the beginning of the program at the beginning of debugging. Maybe someone can help me?In the videos the yellow arrow was always in the Command Window and not in the Disassembly Window...Furthermore I don't know how to check my variables I've changed... I add the variables to the Watch but I don't get anything reported.Thank you in advance!Best regardsRebecca

Hi all,I am looking for Gnu C linker scripts. I found linker scripts inside the Cube bloatware after waiting 2 hours for the download to finish (yes, not everybody has Gigabit internet) but:they don't work with GCC. For example __data_start is not defined (STM32L151XC).They have an Atollic copyright inside !?! Use is only permitted with the Atollic TrulyCreepingStudio software which is an absolute no-go area for me.So where can I find just the register files and linker scripts for a specific CPU?Any help would be appreciated.Kind Regards,

Hi,I'm working with the Software "STSW-ST25DV001" for the ST25DV Discovery Kit as part of my seminar paper. Unfortunately I can't enable the FTM Mode. I'm a little bit confused because the FTM Demo of the Software enables the FTM, but I can't find the specific code in the project. Can anyone help me?I found the following function in the Code "ST25DV_i2c_WriteMBMode" but after checking the pMB_mode with the debugger of Keil uVision 5 the value of pMB_mode hasn't changed after execution the function. Thank you in advance!Best regardsRebecca

I am trying to read nfc cards with X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 plugged on top of NUCLEO-L476RG. However, in the X-CUBE-NFC3 ver. 1.4.0 there is no example for such combination, but according to UM2045 Rev 2 ("The software comes with examples of implementation of such drivers, running on X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 plugged on top of one NUCLEO-L476RG, NUCLEO-F401RE or NUCLEO-F103RB. ") somewhere should be such an example.Could you please point out exactly where this example project can be downloaded? Thanks in advance!Linards

Hello!I have some strange behavior with STM32L0 processor.I get Hard fault error in my function and I can't understand why this happens?!I have equivalent codes - one of them works and other doesn't work causing Hard fault error. Also this happens only when function is called with parameter mCopy=2.I use SystemWorkbench for STM32 IDE.I have attached these two codes - working and problematic code.Would you please help me!Thank you!

I can store variables in flash memory location successfully but what is happening is updating that variable in main.c file not happening.I'm posted code what i have done below. Linker script file :MEMORY{RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 320KFLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x8000000, LENGTH = 153MY_VARS (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x08005000, LENGTH = 1K // storing in flash memory}.my_vars :{*(.MY_VARS*);} >MY_VARSIn main.c file :__attribute__((section(".MY_VARS"),myvars)) uint32_t *value=8;int main(){int a =sum(); //i have a sum function of two numbers and storing in variable 'a'value =&a; // value should updated to sum but it is not updatingreadaddress=(const volatile uint32_t *)0x08005000;// reading flash memory printf("Read flash address %lu\n",*readaddress);// printing the data which is stored in value ,it is printing everytime 8 but it should print variable data which stored in 'a'.}int sum(int a){int a=1, b= 34 ;a=a+b;return a;}Can anybody help me to figure this out,i hope u

Hey everyone,I've got a weird issue.I'm running a multibuffer DMA and although everything works well at a point, I'm terminating the DMA transfer. It's a multibuffer DMA moving data from GPIO IDR to SRAM.When an interrupt is triggered, I should stop the transfer, look at what the current memory target of the DMA is and move the remaining data to an sdcard (as indicated by the NDTR register)Here's the code:void EXTI3_IRQHandler(void) {   //Deactivate ADC HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOG, GPIO_PIN_15, GPIO_PIN_RESET); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOC, GPIO_PIN_4 | GPIO_PIN_5, GPIO_PIN_SET); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, GPIO_PIN_0, GPIO_PIN_RESET);   //Stop DMA transfer __HAL_TIM_DISABLE_DMA(&htim8, TIM_DMA_CC2|TIM_DMA_CC3); __HAL_TIM_DISABLE_IT(&htim8, TIM_DMA_CC2|TIM_DMA_CC3);       volatile int datatowrite; //Determine current memory target if (((hdma_tim8_ch1_ch2_ch3.Instance->CR) && 262144) == 0) { //memory target 0 -> determine amount of data left

Hello,I am using an STM32L4R5VIT6 board in which I am programming it with Atollic TrueSTUDIO using the debugger and Jlink connectiong. When I am running the debugger, it suddenly stopped working for me and the console reads:Connecting to J-Link...  J-Link is connected....Connected to target  Waiting for GDB connection...Connected to 127.0.0.1  Reading all registers  GDB closed TCP/IP connection   Restoring target state and closing J-Link connection...   Shutting down...Comparing this to another board where the debugger is working fine, it seems to be that it stops working at the "read all registers" section. I have tried connecting another board and found it works fine, so it must be hardware related. Is there anything with the this ST32 board that might prevent the registers from being read? (Note: I have tried error 2.2.1 of the errata sheet)

I am evaluating the ST25DV series using the ST25DV-DISCOVERY and the ST25 Android NFC tap application.I accidentally set the LOCK_CFG register of the ST25DV to 1 (locked) via RF by the Register Management of the NFC tap app, and then the system configuration was locked.  Now I need to change the system configuration.  According to the ST25DVxxK datasheet, it is impossible to set the LOCK_CFG register from 1 to 0 (unlocked) via RF, and this register is required to be written via I2C.  However, it appears that the ST25DV-DISCOVERY does not have UIs to unlock (set the LOCK_CFG register from 1 to 0) via I2C or to factory-reset the register. Please let me know:- at the ST25DV-DISCOVERY alone how to unlock via I2C or to factory-reset the register.- PC applications if the PC applications connecting to the ST25DV-DISCOVERY with USB cable can unlock or factory-reset the register.- other methods if the above two are impossible.Thank you in advance.
