I have a VL53L1X connected to a multi-slave I2C bus hosted by a broadcom bcm2835 running linux (4.19). I have configured the `vl53l1_platform.c` from the api ("stsw-img007") to use the <linux/i2c-dev.h> interface with tracing and see bi-direction communication. However, after that `StartMeasurement` call, GetMeasurementDataReady consistently reports that data is not ready, despite waiting for minutes. Since there is no published i2c command/register list/help (?), I am working in the dark. Can someone familiar with this device's i2c interface take a look? Here's the i2c trace log:Fail; line: 173, expected: 2, got: -1, errno: 121Fail; line: 173, expected: 2, got: -1, errno: 121Fail; line: 173, expected: 2, got: -1, errno: 121Read register: 0x00e5 = 03wrote register: 0x0000 = 00wrote register: 0x0000 = 01Read register: 0x00e5 = 03Read register: 0x00e5 = 03Found (booted) device.Read register: 0x010f = ea cc 10Validated device.Read register: 0x002e = 00wrote register: 0x002e = 01Read

Hello to everyone. I am teaching an embedded system lab courses and this is our first year with a STM32F767ZI Nucleo board. We are at a point where we want to exploit the on-board temperature sensor to generate some input data. In our first experience with the sensor we are setting ADC1 in single channel, continuous conversion mode, and we are working with interrupts. The first thing I notice is that, if I apply the conversion formula on the MCU reference manual (RM0410 pag. 466, T = (V_sense - V_25)/Avg_Slope + 25), where V_sense is the value read by the temperature sensor and all the other data are on the datasheet, I obtain completely bogus values for T, of the order of 100 °C. Instead I found an application note (AN3964), that discusses the use of the temperature sensor for STM32L1x microcontrollers, and suggests a two-point approach based on the calibration data TS_CAL1 and TS_CAL2 to calculate the temperature. This yields temperature values much more realistic, closer to that of

Hi,I'm currently developing a board where I use STM32L433RC as my main unitof processment. This board will have an SD Card to store some data and later ontransfer it via UART. To achieve this, I must use an UART to Serial Portconverter. After some research on MCU reference manual, I saw that it has an USB Peripheral Interface where I could connect D+ and D- directly to the MCU. Thus, if this worked, I wouldn’t need to have the converter in my board. However, I’ve some questions:Is it possible to use USB peripheral as a Serial Port? The learning curve of this peripheral it’s hard? Since I already have code to UART, which in fact is to simple, will I spend a lot of time doing the same thing to USB protocol?I’m not thinking about using and external clock. To use USB peripheral do I need one?Is it easy to change the Serial Port name? So, when I connect the MCU to the PC this custom name its used. Thanks in advance.

This just looks like a comment but it seems a code outside these comment have different affect./* USER CODE BEGIN 1 *//* USER CODE END 1 */

If anyone could help me point to location in the API where I could implment "Autonomous low-power mode".And on "Autonomous low-power mode" what is the expected current draw?for a battery operated project what should I tweak in the API to get more power savings? Thanks in advance.

This actually makes sense because the ODR is 26,667 kHz which means that between two samples are 37.5 us this would make three 12.5 us ticks. 25 us wouldn't make much sense.

I must say that the recently updated TouchGFX documentation is excellent. Great job! I apologize if I am missing the obvious, but is there a way to pass more than one value by way of an "action" to a Custom Container?I am referencing the following tutorial:https://support.touchgfx.com/docs/tutorials/tutorial-05/I am working on a Custom Container with a Scrollwheel in it and I would like to add a custom action to be able to change the text of a specified element (a second parameter) programmatically. I tried the "custom" and when trying to add the action, I was not able to get it to accept a multiple parameter virtual function or when selecting "Execute C++ code".Any help would be appreciated.

I'm a beginner in embedded systems. I'm creating a software where some leds are blinking in the main while loop. I would like to put the MCU into stand-by mode when connecting a certain pin. I want to return to normal execution when this pin is disconnected. Right now I'm using a SYS_WKUP pin to exit the stand-by mode. Could I somehow use the same pin to enter stand-by mode. What is the best way to implement this?Right now i can enter stand-by mode in the middle of the main loop and exit stand-by mode when connecting the pin, but I don't know how to enter the stand-by mode as i connect the pin. I have the NUCLEO G031K8 and I'm programming with STM32CubeIDE.

hi dear.I am making a QWERTY Korean input method. It was confirmed that Unicode is used to express characters using the touchGFX designer. However, Font can only output codes in EUC_KR. In the case of the Korean input method, one code is produced by combining, but one complete code is produced through a combination of 2 to 4 codes. Even during the combination, it is necessary to express the letters, but this is a problem because the entire font of Unicode cannot be output. For example, the word "hoho". When this is input as an input device, the screen output order should be displayed as 'ㅎ'-> '호'-> '홓'-> '호호'. However, '홓' is in the Unicode Font but not in EUC_KR, so it is treated as Blank. How can I solve these problems ????If you input "홓" in TouchGFX Designer Resource, nothing is displayed.

I am doing a pcb layout with a STM32L432KCU6 and using 100% of its 32 pins in my project. BOOT0 signal is on pin 31 on that MCU and in my schematic I have a digital output on that pin (PH3). There is no pull-down/up on BOOT0 on my design. Programming will be via SWIO/SWCLK/SWO/RST/VCC/GND and I want it always boot from flash. Is there any way to program the chip (write some config bits) to disable the use of pin BOOT0? How is that done?I am new to SMT32 micros.REgards.

Float in printf doesn't seem to work in new projects created in stm32cubeideIf i create a project in sw4stm32 it works, there, it also works if i import the sw4stm32 project, it does not work if i create a new project in cubeideIn all cases the option -u _printf_float is used, but in case of new cubeide project, this setting is somehow ignored and the wrong prinf is included, visible in mapfilegood (imported project):../arm-none-eabi/lib/thumb/v7e-m/fpv4-sp/hard\libc_nano.a(lib_a-nano-vfprintf_float.o)bad(new project):../arm-none-eabi/lib/thumb/v7e-m/fpv4-sp/hard\libc_nano.a(lib_a-printf.o)

hey!I'm using timer 1 in OC mode with toggling the output. I also want to change the timer overflow value with the values predefined in the buffer.I define buffer as:uint16_t data[5] = { 50, 50, 100, 50, 50};Then in main I call:HAL_TIM_OC_Start_DMA(&htim1, TIM_CHANNEL_1, (uint32_t *) data, 5);Hardfault strikes inside HAL_TIM_OC_Start_DMA:htim->hdma[TIM_DMA_ID_CC1]->XferCpltCallback = TIM_DMADelayPulseCplt; htim->hdma[TIM_DMA_ID_CC1]->XferHalfCpltCallback = TIM_DMADelayPulseHalfCplt;My question is how avoid this. Attached Cube initialization of TIM and DMA. Alternatively, maybe there is different approach. My goal is to get signal without interrupts that looks like this with exact frequency: 0 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 1 0 1Thanks

So this might be a easily answered question, and I think I know the answer, but I just want to confirm for safety:If a bootloader program for an stm32l4 (or any family of chip) is set up to run at a different clock frequency than a firmware package on the same chip, can that be potentially harmful for synchronous operation between the two applications? For example, the bootloader starts first every time at 24 MHz, and then jumps to the firmware memory address, but I need the firmware application to run at a higher rate (48MHz). I cant change the bootloader at this point in time, so I wanted a second opinion if that can cause conflicts. I feel like no, because each application has its own start up items on initialization (including clock setup) so I feel like its ok. Am I missing something important?

Hi,I am using scroll List and also able to select the item by clicking that and tested that on simulator. Please check below image .Screen1View::Screen1View() : scrollList1ItemSelectedCallback(this, &Screen1View::scrollList1ItemSelectedHandler) {   } void Screen1View::scrollList1ItemSelectedHandler(int16_t itemSelected) { touchgfx_printf("Item Selected = %d \r\n" ,itemSelected) ; touchgfx_printf(Rx_Buffer1[itemSelected]) ; // Which API should I use .. touchgfx_printf(" \r\n" ) ; }   void Screen1View::setupScreen() { Screen1ViewBase::setupScreen(); scrollList1.setItemSelectedCallback(scrollList1ItemSelectedCallback); // Added   }How do I change color of Clicked Item (Text) or put rectangle over that .Means which API should I use .?--Karan

Hi everyone,I'm relatively new to STM, i'm making my diploma thesis with it. It's going to be a mini, portable oscilloscope, but at this point I'm totally stuck. I started using ADC with DMA, but soon I realised this might be not the perfect option, so I dumped the idea, and started using instead the UART with DMA. It all worked well, until I started working with ADC too. I tried interrupt and poll mode too, but I always end up with random spikes, when I monitor the transmitted data. It goes well, if there are small, slow changes in voltage, but every time, when there is a relatively fast(now I do it with a 10K potentiometer, so fast means a half turn with a fast move). It just goes up from 2-3000mVs instantly to over a million, and immediately falls back to the previous value. I checked in code, the measured and calculated values are ok, they never go up, so it seems like the problem is with UART. I don't have an oscilloscope, or any equipment(just a cheap crap multimeter), and I can'

Hi,I'm using a STM32F4 board which has a LIS3DSH. This board has PE0 connected to the INT1 of the LIS3DSH and PA0 connected to the user Button B1. Due to this, I won't be able to use interrupts to sample and interrupt for button press. I'm trying to find if there is any way to get the DRDY signal on INT2?Thanks

Hello, I work on a STSPIN32F0B but a cannot find a way to configure it via ST motor control workbench software (STSPIN32F0B not present in MCU and Clock Frequency Selection window). I have found the STSPIN-3204 firmware package but I will use the STSPIN32F0B on a custom board and therefore it must be easily modified to correspond to our need. Is there a way to custom it easily like with ST motor control workbench.

When I generate for TIM9 input capture to measure a pulse width, CubeMX inserts correctly these two lines into the function MX_TIM9_Init: if (HAL_TIM_IC_Init(&htim9) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }Then in the stm32fxx_hal_msp.c file it inserts a HAL_TIM_IC_MspInit with the TIM9 stuff in it.But for TIM10:If I also generate for TIM10 also for input capture to measure pulse width it now inserts these lines in the MX_TIM10_Init function: if (HAL_TIM_Base_Init(&htim10) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } if (HAL_TIM_IC_Init(&htim10) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }and in the stm32fxx_hal_msp.c file it inserts a HAL_TIM_Base_MspInit function instead of a HAL_TIM_IC_MspInit.Why the 2 different behaviors for TIM9 and TIM10? I did manual code (without using CubeMX) could I get away using TIM9 annd TIM10 the same way (without the TIM_Base stuff) just sticking with HAL_TIM_IC_Mspinit for both timers? Thanks

Hi everyone, i'm quite new with the stm. Currently im using the stm32f411 discoveryboard and trying to get the pulse width in order to measure range, i did try to search for solution and find out about input capture method but the code is on sw4stm32 so i try to change it to keil but it didn't work out? here's my code: #include "main.h" uint32_t IC_Val1 = 0; uint32_t IC_Val2 = 0; uint32_t Difference = 0; uint8_t Is_First_Captured = 0;   // Let's write the callback function now   void HAL_TIM_IC_CaptureCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) { if (htim->Channel == HAL_TIM_ACTIVE_CHANNEL_2) // if the interrupt source is channel2 { if (Is_First_Captured==0) // if the first value is not captured { IC_Val1 = HAL_TIM_ReadCapturedValue(htim, TIM_CHANNEL_2); // read the first value Is_First_Captured = 1; // set the first captured as true // Now change the polarity to falling edge __HAL_TIM_SET_CAPTUREPOLARITY(htim, TIM_CHANNEL_2, TIM_INPUTCHANNELPOLARITY_FALLING); }   el
