Hello, I like to consult the community if the latest ToF sensor can be an option for my application. As depicted in the image, a stream of box-like objects moves along a conveyor-like system where each "section" of the conveyor may deliver different speed. The goal is to be able to constantly detect and closely monitoring the (1) object presence, (2) linear speed and optionally the (3) orientation, of each object throughout the moving process.Since we're expecting hundreds of sensors to be installed per line, and that we are restricted by the already confined space, the price point and form factor of ToF sensor seems to be a good fit. Digging through the datasheet, it looks to me that VL53L3CX might be the better choice (the flyer states ""fast accurate distance ranging and short distance linearity) and 50-60Hz should be sufficient to calculate a rough orientation. It's more now of my concern on how well a pair of VL53L3CX can detect moving speed. Or is there a way to determine (or est

We are using the VL53L0X sensors in their default configuration supplied out of the factory. We run VL53L0X_DataInit() on the sensors and then every 100ms call VL53L0X_PerformSingleRangingMeasurement(Device, &measure). Upon return, we check measure.RangeStatus for non zero values. VL53L0X_PerformSingleRangingMeasurement(Device, &measure) never returns measure.RangeStatus == 0. However, the RangeMilliMeter values are correct, meaning that is the distance of our detected object. The value of RangeStatus is either Sigma fail or Min Range Fail.any thoughts???

The VL53L3CX API‘s example code use 12KB of RAM, which makes it impossible for me to try to use the program with a smaller RAM MPU.The example for L1X,L0 are not the same, they only use about 2KB of RAM.I would like to know if it is necessary to use such a large amount of RAM to use the VL53L3CX API or if this is a software bug.Thank you.

Hi,Are there any examples for Interrupt based people count detection? We required Interrupt method for power optimizations, longer battery life. Please help us.RegardsMariswamy

We tried to use VL53L0X_CHECKENABLE_RANGE_IGNORE_THRESHOLD.But not found any effect on measurement reading. If you share some input for way to use VL53L0X_CHECKENABLE_RANGE_IGNORE_THRESHOLD, then it will be very useful.

Please, do you know if there is a way to solve stability problems with the VL53L1X satel ?Thank you for your help.Best wishesAnne

Hello. I would like to measure the level of water in a closed container.I have chosen VL6180V1 for the same since it has an 850 nm light source which won't be absorbed by water.I have referred this article for it:https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000Bxwc5kSQA/i-would-like-to-use-the-vl53l0x-to-measure-the-height-of-liquids-in-the-holding-tank-and-water-tanks-of-a-boat-is-this-likely-to-work-distances-are-5-cm-50-cmNow my question is "Will it give me the height of water or distance of water from sensor?"I am curious to know this thing before I proceed. I would also like if there is any code example or user manual specific to my use case. Please help me with this thing. I am in a dilemma whether to use this sensor or not.

Hello, I have series of questions related to the data implementations using SPAD zone settings. After reading of manuals i made conclusions how to use this feature of the sensor, but i'm not sure if my conclusions are correct.1. I'm interested in accuracy of data returned by sensor in different zones. I tested all center zones started from 16x16 and reducing it to 4x4 size array. And each redusing gave me differense almost in 1.5cm, so the difference between value that retured in 16x16 case and 4x4 case equals 7-8cm! I had clear conditions of the experiment: sensor was fixed vertically in front of plane wall. I just wondered why the zones with the same center have such differents in output value.2. The second quastions is about if there any possobility to define geometric locations of the zones. User manuals said that 16x16 array has 27 FoV, 8x8 -20 FoV, 4x4-15 FoV. So i'm really wondered how those zones geometricly exists, because the reducing of the FoV is not uniform (if it was unif

Hi, what are the formula for RMS acceleration and RMS velocity respectively? As I found that there is a Lambda and Tau for RMS velocity and RMS acceleration respectively. Please advise. Thanks!

I have just bought the SensorTile.Box and, as the person posting this question 2 years ago ( https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000BMFuNjSQL/jtag20-to-stdc14-adapter-from-st-for-sensortilebox ), I expected an adapter included in the kit, as I have a J-Link Edu with the typical 20x2.54 connector. I am wondering if this board can work as the Nucleo boards do, being able to be programmed and debugged via USB. Thanks in advance

Hi,im using a STM32F429ZI with CubeIDE 1.7.0 and firmware version 1.25.0 for my project. The project doesn't use an operationg system.During coding, I worked with debug settings and without compiler optimizations and everything worked fine. When turning on compiler optimizations (-Os, -O3, -O2, doesn't matter), a hard fault occured during the initialization phase of the program, where I switch on various timers, IRQs, SPI busses and DMAs.I started to investigate the problem and found some really strange behaviour: the push instruction at the entry of a function (HAL_TIM_RegisterCallbacks), pushing r4 and lr to the stack, failed. Lr was pushed correctly, but only the least significant byte of r4 was written to memory. The other three bytes contained the same value as before. When I set a breakpoint right at the push instruction and then step debug the push, everything works fine. When I set a breakpoint at the instruction right after the push and inspect the memory at sp, only the least

I've checked various example on internet but I haven't get any one of them working for me,The board even not connecting to the router, I've tried static as well as dynamic IPI'm new to Ethernet & LwIPcould you please  provide me any staring example for STM32F767ZI NUCLEO UDP client and IOT any cloud connection(e.g firebase,Thing speak etc) .Thanking you!

The Additional Function of PB2 is LCD_VLCD2 in the data sheet, but the same pin is set to VLCD1 in dm00171429-evaluation-board-with-stm32l073vz and CubeMX.Which is correct?I will attach the corresponding image

The most recent update of STM32CubeIDE says:" RTOS support improvements: full call stack for all tasks in the Debug view"I have installed STM32CubeIDE 1.7.0 but cannot see any difference. In the debug view (on the left) I see only Thread #1, which refers to one of the rtos threads depending which thread was active. In the "FreeRTOS task list" however, the tasks are shown (which was also true before the update). Are there additional steps necessary?

Hi,In my port of SBSFU (v2.4.0, not yet 2.5.0) I'm having trouble transferring SFU files over YMODEM due to missing characters at the receiver. This makes it seem the com loader is too slow however it is the same as from the H753 on which it is based.I've split the logging and ymodem transfers to uart3 (logs) and uart1 (ymodem). Uart1 uses the Arduino header on the STM32H735G-DK board however I have the same issue when just using uart3 with MINICOM_YMODEM defined and using minicom sb.During transmission I'm not logging anything to avoid slowing down the com loader data reception. When I use a simple loop that receives 1 character at a time and outputs once a small buffer is full and constantly send data from another STM32H735G-DK to the one with this receive loop, I get all data. But the smallest delay causes data to be missed and I believe this is why the com loader doesn't work.Any idea how I can avoid missing characters during transmission?I guess maybe my uart configuration is not r

Hello,I am trying to get SBSFU working on my G071RB Nucleo board with my own test application. So far I have used the X-Cube-SBSFU examples and have the UserApp running as expected, it boots and I can run the tests. All good.I now want to replace the UserApp wit my own application and test with that.I have built SBSFU and have been able to use the postbuild.sh script to merge my application with SBSFU ok.SBFU runs, but I am getting a watchdog reset everytime it comes to execute the user firmware as below:= [SBOOT] SECURE ENGINE INITIALIZATION SUCCESSFUL = [SBOOT] STATE: CHECK STATUS ON RESET WARNING: A Reboot has been triggered by a Watchdog reset! Consecutive Boot on error counter = 5 INFO: Last execution detected error was:Watchdog error. = [EXCPT] WATCHDOG RESET FAULT! = [SBOOT] STATE: CHECK NEW FIRMWARE TO DOWNLOAD = [SBOOT] STATE: CHECK USER FW STATUS A valid FW is installed in the active slot - version: 5 = [SBOOT] STATE: VERIFY USER FW SIGNATURE = [SBOOT] STATE: EXECUTE USER

How can I correct the temperature? Is there a correction table?

Hello,i want to design a new antenna layout with the ST253911b chip.It is recommended to match the antenna across RFO1 and RFO2 to a load impedance of 10 Ohm.Do i have to change the register "RFO normal level definition register" adress 27h to 10Ohm?What happens if i set it to 1Ohm?Best regardsPeterSPX

Hello allI use ST25DV64K.If the I2C communication is normal, it returns ACK after receiving data, and after receiving the last data, it returns NACK response and issues Stop Condition. If the I2C communication is abnormal, and the master issues a stop condition without returning a NACK response to the NFC tag, will the NFC tag be able to receive the stop condition normally? Also, after the Stop Condition is issued, will the NFC tag be able to accept the next Start Condition normally?Or will it not accept the next input data until the maximum value of TCHCL or TCLCH (25ms) has elapsed?BRMorooka

I'm having trouble opening Cube supplied projects with STM32CubeIDE under MacOS.- Most ST supplied videos just say "navigate to STM32CubeIDE folder and double click '.project' file to open the project in STM32CubeIDE, but it obviously doesn't work under MacOS as it does not show '.project' file in finder.- Using 'open -a STM32CubeIDE .project' from shell opens the '.project' file in editor mode.- Using 'Open Project From Filesystem...' menu does not seem to read content of the '.project' file, as build command stays grayed out.Does anyone know, or have a pointer to a working tutorial of how to open existing, more specifically, Cube examples in STM32CubeIDE under MacOS?

I am trying to change the lower measurement threshold of this sensor so that it will only send proximity data above a certain distance. I am quite new to using ToF sensors and am not sure where to start, I have looked over the documentation and am still quite lost, any help would be greatly appreciated!
