Hello all, I am doing some tests with a NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q Board and FreeRTOS. I have created a simple program based on a STM32 examples, the unit will go into EnterSTOP2Mode and wakes up when the button is pressed. This is the code I have on the main.c file:int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USER CODE END Init */ /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* Configure the System Power */ SystemPower_Config(); /* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit */ /* USER CODE END SysInit */ /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ /* USER CODE END 2 */ /* Init scheduler */ osKernelInitialize(); /* Call init function for freertos objects (in freertos.c) */ MX_FREERTOS_Init(); /* Start scheduler */ osKernelStart(); /*

Hi ST team,I am using STM32U5G9 as secondary MCU. It has simple firmware upgrade feature. It would be reset by main MCU and enter system memory bootloader using Boot0 pin. The system memory bootloader would receive upgrade image (application) from main MCU by USART and write the image into internal flash. (AN3155 and AN2606)This method is simple but it does not have any sercrity feature. I would like to ask if I could add MCUBoot and secure boot into this method with minimum effort?1. System memory bootloader would receive signed image (application) from main MCU and write it into non-secure area.2. Exit system memory bootloader and enter secure boot3. Secure boot verifies the authenticity and integrity of the application.4. Execute the application. Is this possible?

Hello STM32 community,I am working with the Infineon TLE9879QxA40 BLDC Shield designed for Arduino Uno (5V logic) and trying to control it using STM32F407 (3.3V logic). Although the SPI communication setup matches the Arduino example, the motor does not respond.Key points to note:The TLE9879 shield’s digital I/O and SPI interface operate at 5V logic levels, powered by an internal 5V regulator, as specified in the datasheet and official shield hardware design.Arduino Uno outputs 5V signals natively, so it communicates directly with the TLE9879 without issues.STM32F407 GPIOs operate at 3.3V logic levels and cannot be configured to output 5V signals internally.Without external level shifting on MOSI, SCLK, and CS lines, the 3.3V signals are insufficient to reliably trigger the TLE9879 inputs, resulting in failed communication.Additionally, 5V outputs from the TLE9879 can damage STM32 inputs if those pins are not 5V tolerant.Proper operation requires implementing level shifting circuits to

The STM32H753 Reference Manual (RM0433) covers the integrated flash memory inside the microcontroller. It does not say why type of flash is integrated though (NOR or NAND). Is it possible to share what type of flash it is?

Hey! I'm trying to get USB up and running on a STM32U595VJT6. From the reference manual, it says it's supported.   However, when in STM32CubeMX, the USB_OTG_HS is grayed out. This is on a fresh project, so there's no pin conflicts or similar. This is how it looks:   Do you have any ideas what the problem might be?

Hello,I have :STM32U5G9J-DK2Windows 10STM32CubeIDE 1.7.0TouchGFX 4.23.0 installed in STM32CubeIDE  with helps/manage embedded software packageTouchGFX designer 4.23.0 Sometimes when I generate the code from the .ioc, after having made a modification in the configuration, compilation errors appears with the filesnema_hal.cTouchGFXConfiguration.cpplocated in Application/User/TouchGFX/target/generatedIt seems to be a problem with GPU2D.After the first generation of the files with Designer, it does work without any problem.I can make some modifications in the .ioc and generate the code but after a while I have compilations errors, always with those 2 files, even if I have only add a GPIO_Output.I have tried some things like regenerate code in Designer and STM32CubeIDE,delete some directories and regenerate code in Designer and STM32CubeIDE, butimpossible to repair those errors. Is this a known issue ?I have searched on the forum but nobody seems to have the same problem than me.&nb

Hello everyone, for a few days I have been struggling with skipping and running the bootloader on stm32g474ret6 via usart.I have an STM, 12MHz crystal, and an FTDI chip on my own PCB, with RTS/CTS disconnected for now. After sending a command via USART, the control LED lights up, but the bootloader doesn't start. Hello everyI want to increase STM32G473 FDCAN Tx buffer and Rx buffer size,In STM32G473 datasheet    >> "A 3-Kbyte message RAM memory implements filters, receive FIFOs, receive buffers, transmit event FIFOs, transmit buffers. This message RAM is shared between the threeFDCAN modules."In my project, I used three FDCAN（FDCAN1 FDCAN2 FDCAN3），However, after testing, if there is no delay, each FDCAN can only send a maximum of 3 data. This seems to match the SRAMCAN_TFQ_NBR parameter. But when I modified this parameter, the data sent became very strange, and the CAN analyzer could not receive normal data. Does anyone know how to increase the tx buffer size of FDcan? Besides this, I would also like to know how to increase the size of the rx bufferIf you have any questions, please feel free to discuss with us，Thanks！

In STM32G474 UART4 pin no PC11(Rx) is 5 Volt tolerant . If I pull up this pin to +5V with 4.7kOhms then it will affect life or operation of microcontroller? please Suggest.

Hello to all, I'm coding a simple project for STM32WL55IC7 MCU, for the NUCLEO-WL55JC2 board. I didn't use the BSP for the board, in other words i didn't select the NUCLEO board option, but I started the project using the MCU. The Project name is STM32WL55IC7_foo. The CubeIDE build the following 3 projects: 1. STM32WL55IC7_foo  2. STM32WL55IC7_foo_CM0PLUS (the code for Cortex M0+ code) 3. STM32WL55IC7_foo_CM4 (the code for Cortex M4 code) When I try to compile the project, while the CM4 core code is compiled without any error, the code for the M0PLUS core issued errors, on the following snippet during the EXTI interrupt initialization: /* EXTI interrupt init*/ HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(EXTI1_0_IRQn, 1, 0); HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(EXTI1_0_IRQn); HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(EXTI15_4_IRQn, 1, 0); H

I’m working on a custom STM32MP257DAK3 board. In STM32CubeMX, I need both SDMMC1 (SD card) and SDMMC2 (eMMC) to be supported as possible boot devices. When I check both:SDMMC1 → Memory Boot DeviceSDMMC2 → Memory Boot DeviceThe following error appears in IPs assignment rules: Faulty state detected for SDMMC1, SDMMC2 : Only one Memory Boot Device can be assigned to TF-A simultaneously. I understand that TF-A allows only one memory boot device at a time. However, our hardware design supports dual boot options (either from eMMC or SD card). How can I fix this error?

When trying to build an STM32CubeMX V6.13.0 generated cmake+gcc project with clang there are two files that generate errors:sysmem.cthe linker script (STM32L431RCTX_FLASH.ld and stm32l476rgtx_flash.ld)sysmem.c produces the following error:Core/Src/sysmem.c:30:35: error: use of undeclared identifier 'NULL'[build] 30 | static uint8_t *__sbrk_heap_end = NULL;This is caused by the fact that only errno.h and stdint.h are included. None of them officially define NULL. But they probably do in gcc. Also ptrdiff_t is undefined.sysmem.c can easily be modified by either:The easiest is not to use NULL but (void*)0. This is something ST could do. including stddef.h . This defines NULL and also ptrdiff_t.or modifying build to forcebly include such a file in all files (adding "-include stddef.h" to compile command). I did this so I wouldn't have to modify the file (which would get overwritten by regenerating code). But it's kind of a hack.Linker script:Linker scmemory region not defined: RAM[bui

Hello,I have modbus master and slave device, where I have design modbus master for testing in that way that it will continuously send modbus request  after each successfull response, and if any response fail then it stop. Now on  I'm getting continuous response from slave device and working fine. The issue is with slave device having undesired behavior if we restart the slave device.Slave device has custom bootloader and slave device. So once we start the device it will start bootloader and bootloader will take care to check integrity of slave application and if all well, then jump to slave application. So, if I dump the code in release mode (via bootloader) first time then slave device continuously give response on each request and it continue until I stop or reset and even after master reset and ON again, the slave device still continue to work well.Note: It works in all the way if we dump a debug code, only issue with release code. I have remove bootloader and allow to run s

 Hello, I write this post because I have a question while using the ST67W61 chip. First,I tested soft-AP function with a NUCLEO-H563ZI board and an X-NUCLEO-67W61M1 board.I used sdk example project ST67W6X_CLI of x-cube-st67w61-v1.0.0.It worked well. And then,I tested AT command with a NUCLEO-H723ZG board and an X-NUCLEO-67W61M1 board.I received some report. -- ①MOSI : 0x00  0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00  0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00MISO : 0xAA 0x55 0x09 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0D 0x0A 0x72 0x65 0x61 0x64 0x79 0x0D 0x0A 0x00 0x00I understood this report as ready st67 chip.and,I sent AT command.MOSI : 0x41 0x54 0x0D 0x0A 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00  0x00  0x00  0x00MISO : 0xAA 0x55 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0xDD 0xCC 0xBB 0xAAafter I send this AT command, there was no longer report from st67 chip. so, I checked SPI signal with NUCLEO-H563ZI and X-NUCLEO-67W61M1, sdk.First, it received same ① report. and

I am trying to flash and debug on CM4 on stm32 H755 ZI-Q board.1. Firstly i tried debugging CM7 , with debug configurations --> Connecting under reset and halt all cores.2. Then i tried debugging CM4, with debug configuration -->None(no reset)3. Also added .elf files in startup while debugging CM7.4. I separately debugged cm7 and then cm4, but got only cm7 prints output.5. So then i tried in other way,I launch the group debug, adding cm4 and cm7 both elf files,, still the cm7 i could able to see prints,, cm4 no prints.. basically, I think cm4 is not able to get up from stop mode. So, provide me solution 1.How to run cm4 independently? If this is not possible,  2. How to run the code written in m4, along with m7 in stm32 h755 zi-q series board.

Hi,I would like to know if the STSW-IMG041 code that is flashed into the device is available somewhere. My goal would be to use the same code but on a custom board to verify that the sensor is working properly.Thank you!

I wrote the i2c communication code for the vl53l1x ULD API in vl53l1_platform.c and i2c32.c, and called the API in tof.c to initialize vl53l1. The VL53L1X_GetSensorId function can correctly read 0xEACC, but the VL53L1X_CheckForDataReady function always shows that the distance measurement is not completed, and at the same time, the VL53L1X_GetDistance also cannot read the distance measurement result.

Hello, I have modbus master application (Free RTOS using CMSIS lib), in which modbus constructure init the timer_ with osTimer. osTimerId_t ModbusMaster::createTimer_(const char* name) { osTimerAttr_t attr{}; attr.name = name; auto t = osTimerNew(responseReady_, osTimerOnce, this, &attr); return t; } So Modbus master send request to slave and start timer to wait for response, at start stagingLength_ = 0 __HAL_UART_ENABLE_IT(uart_, UART_IT_RXNE); HAL_UART_Receive_IT(uart_, &mbMsg_.payload.rawResponse.rawData[stagingLength_], 1); osStatus_t stat = osTimerStart(timer_,1500); Now as soon as I got first character received, I will change the period of timer to 3.5 character silence time and once that silence time is expire, the time will invoke its callback as responseReady(). Here below the value 1000 is not match with silence time but keep as big as possible. void HAL_UART_RxCpltCallback(UART_HandleTypeDef *huart) { if(huart->Instance == USART2) { BaseType_t xHighe

Hello,I'm doing Modbus communication using RS485. And using MAX485 IC to convert to RS485. and running on Free RTOS CMSIS.I have tried and the behavior is random for all below, not consistent. Here I have tried with RS232 and it works like charm. The only issue with RS485. Where Modbus slave we have testing separately and it works fine too. - Transmit and receive blocking call but seen packet drop during receive- Transmit and receive interrupt with each byte and complete block of bytes, and saw complete frame is missing in reception.- Transmit blocking and Receive using DMA, saw complete frame missing during reception.- Transmit DMA and Receive DMA, saw receive frame is missing. So lets continue discussion on DMA transmit and receive. Here is the configuration for DMA and the USART2 is running at 16mhz- Enable DMA for rx and tx and also enable rs485 hardware flow control, so that it can internally handle the DE pin.static void MX_USART2_UART_Init(void) { huart2.Instance = USA

STM32 (I²C Master) → ESP32 (I²C Slave) “WASD” Command Link with UART InputSummaryThis project establishes a reliable data path from a PC to an STM32 microcontroller over UART, and from the STM32 to an ESP32 over I²C. The user types a line containing WASD characters in a serial terminal connected to the STM32. Upon pressing Enter, the STM32 transmits only the valid WASD bytes over I²C to the ESP32. The ESP32 runs in true I²C slave mode and logs each received command. The design emphasizes correct I²C electrical configuration (external pull-ups), address handling in STM32 HAL, and predictable serial console behavior.Hardware SetupMCU (Master): STM32F103 (I²C1: PB6=SCL, PB7=SDA; UART1: PA9=TX, PA10=RX).Target (Slave): ESP32 family device.Classic ESP32: SDA=GPIO21, SCL=GPIO22.ESP32-S3: SDA=GPIO8, SCL=GPIO9.Pull-ups (mandatory): 4.7 kΩ from SDA→3.3 V and SCL→3.3 V (one pair for the entire bus).Common reference: Tie grounds together (STM32, ESP32, and any USB-TTL adapters).I²C speed: S

Hi,I've started working with the SBSFU example recently on an STMU585. I have noticed that flashing the sbsfu_app_init.bin file is much slower (10x maybe?) if TrustZone is enabled. My workaround has been to create a script to do a regression to RDP level 0 with TrustZone disabled, which will mass erase the device, and then reflash both sbsfu_app_init.bin and the bootloader each time before renabling TrustZone at the end.I was wondering what the specific root cause of the slower flashing is, and if there is a better workflow that would allow me to update just the sbsfu_app_init.bin, or potentially just the NS part, with speeds comparable to those I get when the device is blank. Thanks,Mike

Hello, I'm trying to implement a USBX host... and the code generates a lot of runtime errors.  I assume everything is setup properly from CubeMX, but the code always fails.  1- I see that the mutex was created from the debug session: (ux_system_mutex)2- the system fails when trying to initialize the UX system.3- The error came from _ux_utility_mutex_on() and generates an error code 0x04VOID _ux_utility_mutex_on(UX_MUTEX *mutex) { UINT status; /* Call ThreadX to get system mutex. */ status = tx_mutex_get(mutex, TX_WAIT_FOREVER); /* Check for status. */ if (status != UX_SUCCESS) { /* Error trap. */ _ux_system_error_handler(UX_SYSTEM_LEVEL_THREAD, UX_SYSTEM_CONTEXT_UTILITY, status); } /* Return to caller. */ return; }so, it is trying to get the mutex (ux_system_mutex) and then wait forever....4- If I look at the AzRTOS manual: 0x045- The base code was auto generated by CubeMX.  So basically it is trying to initialize memory using a mutex before starting

Hello, I am trying to use the STMicroelectronics classic USB device middleware to implement a CDC class in the STM32U575 microcontroller. I am currently working on NUCLEO-u575ZI-Q. At first, I followed the tutorial on "How to use STMicroelectronics classic USB device middleware with new STM32 families" by @B.Montanari  (https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-use-stmicroelectronics-classic-usb-device-middleware-with/ta-p/599274) but I encountered the same errors pointed out in the tutorial comments by other users with STM32U5. Then, I created a new project and used the "STM32U5 classic core Middleware Firmware Package" repository (https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32u5-classic-coremw-apps) without any success. In the end, I created another project using the USB Device CDC Standalone Library for STM32U5 (https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32u5-classic-coremw-apps/tree/main/Projects/NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q/Applications/USB_Device/CDC_Standalo

Hi:         We are currently using the STM32G431 MCU with an HSO observer. We are working on a high-speed motor driver that requires an electrical frequency of 5000 Hz. We are unsure whether the STM32G431 can handle a 5000 Hz electrical frequency and if there are any related applications. Based on our current testing, we need to generate 8 carrier cycles within one electrical cycle. So for a 5000 Hz electrical frequency, we want it to operate at a 40 kHz carrier frequency. However, the STM32G431’s processing power cannot handle 40 kHz. We would like to know if the H7 series supports HSO and if it can meet the 40 kHz carrier frequency and operational amplifier speed requirements?
