Hi, Please suggest STM32L562 UFBGA-132 Fanout guidelines.I looked into STM32L562E-DK design files for fanout, in which signals are routed in top and S1 layer but there is not via details for layer transition from top to S1. Here attached the fanout for U7 of eval board.Drill for U7 Top Layer layout for U7 Sig 1 layer layout for U7.Regards,Aman
Hi everyone, I’m trying to use the STLINK-V3MODS Bridge GPIOs (GPIO0–GPIO3) as digital outputs, but none of them show any voltage change at the pins — not even in Open-Drain mode with an external pull-up. All API calls (InitGPIO / SetResetGPIO / ReadGPIO) report BRG_NO_ERR,but on the hardware side, the GPIO pins stay flat at 0 V regardless of the configuration or the logical state set. 🧩 Setup Probe: STLINK-V3MODS OS: Windows 10/11, Visual Studio x64 DLL: STLinkUSBDriver.dll in the same folder Using official STLINK-V3 Bridge API from ST::backhand_index_pointing_right: STLINK-V3 Bridge Software Package (stlink-v3-bridge-v1-2-0.zip)(contains bridge.h, bridge.cpp, and example project apiBridgeProject) :gear: What I did Used InitGPIO() + SetResetGPIO() Tried both Push-Pull and Open-Drain modes T_VCC is connected (3.3 V detected) Closed all COMs between runs (CloseBridge(COM_UNDEF_ALL)) Result: Software side → success (BRG_NO_ERR, errMask = 0x00)
Dear ST Community and Experts, I am facing a persistent SPI error (SPIE bit set) issue with the VN9D5D20FN high-side driver and would appreciate your help in troubleshooting. 1. Problem Description: I am attempting to write to specific control registers via SPI, but the device frequently sets the SPI Error bit (SPIE), indicating a communication fault. The issue is particularly reproducible with certain registers and bit operations: When writing a '1' followed by a '0' to bit 2 of registers 0x01 and 0x02, the SPIE error occurs almost every time. Interestingly, similar write operations to registers 0x00 and 0x03do nottrigger this error. Write operations to register 0x13also occasionally cause the SPIE error. 2. My SPI Configuration: SPI Mode:0 (CPOL=0, CPHA=0). Clock Frequency:1 MHz. Data Order:MSB first. Data Frame:The communication is set for 24 clock pulses per transaction, as required by the VN9D5D20FN. 3. What I've Checked/Note: According to the datasheet, the SPIE
Hello ST team,I’m working on a custom board based on STM32MP135F SoC, with GigaDevice GD5F4GM8UExxG (512 MiB SPI-NAND) connected on SPI1 interface.I’ve successfully integrated this NAND flash in U-Boot and Linux (Yocto build), but the board fails to boot directly from SPI-NAND. Please find the attached text file which is having the all changes. When booting from SD card, I can probe, erase, and write to the SPI-NAND successfully — data can be read back and verified. please check below logs:stm32mp13x:~# dmesg | grep spi[ 0.708654] spi-nand spi0.0: GigaDevice SPI NAND was found.[ 0.708678] spi-nand spi0.0: 512 MiB, block size: 128 KiB, page size: 2048, OOB size: 128[ 0.708944] 9 fixed-partitions partitions found on MTD device spi-nand0[ 0.708962] Creating 9 MTD partitions on "spi-nand0":I can able to flash the image to spi-nand flash successfully after configuring in the uboot and tfa. However, when I configure boot from QSPI-NAND, the boot ROM and TF-A logs indicate all blocks are bad. b
Hi everyone,I would like to ask a question regarding the LTDC rotation. In the Device Tree, I set rotation = <90>;Under the st-image-weston environment, the display rotates correctly. However, under the st-image-core environment, the rotation does not work, and the display appears abnormal.Reference article:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/LTDC_device_tree_configuration
I purchased a Nucleo-L476RG eval board and downloaded the PWR STOP2 RTC example code to test for a low power application. After following the instructions for the jumper settings outlined in UM1724 for external power, I built and tried the example. The user LED blinked for five seconds then stopped as the board went into power-down/STOP2 mode for several seconds. This all appeared correct but instead of the expected STOP2 current of about 1.5uA, the current was about 450uA.I searched the STMicroelectronics Community and tried several different fixes for similar problems on other boards. But nothing worked. The provided PWR_STOP_RTC code is good and correct. So, I examined the schematic more closely and found extra required jumper settings and power connections not mentioned in the UM1724 user manual.UM1724 (7.3.3) states to apply +3.3V to CN6-4, CN7-12, 16. And SB2 and SB12 are removed. The problem is applying external +3.3V to the +3V3 net at CN6-4 which draws excess current into R23
Hi,first foray into STM32 with a Nucleo-F7222ZE.Using CubeMX I have set up Timer1 to generate PWM. I can get outputs OC1, OC2, OC3 etc, but I cannot get the complementary outputs OC1N, OC2N, OC3N to operate. I feel like I'm missing something, like dead band between OC1 and OC1N for example..I've tried just about every combination I can think of in CubeMX, with no result so far. Craig
Hello, STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.19.0STM32CubeU3 Firmware Package V1.2.0 / 04-June-2025 When new project STM32 project with "enable Trust Zone" is created, template produced by STM32CubeIDE fail with HardFault. I have trace primary problem down to NonSecure_Init() function, where VTOR address is read fromvtor_ns = SCB_NS->VTOR;Value of the SCB_NS->VTOR is 0x800000, and it is in secure area, so access to NonSecure_ResetHandler() fail with HF. I have fixed it by adding SCB_NS->VTOR = 0x8080000; in the secure main.c. If i look into GTZC_TZSC_MPCBB_TrustZone/Secure/Src/main.c, there is an addition effort to set correct NS VTOR value, which is missing in the generated code.#if defined ( __ICCARM__ ) SCB_NS->VTOR= (uint32_t)&(__VTOR_TABLE_NS_start); #elif defined(__ARMCC_VERSION)||defined(__GNUC__) SCB_NS->VTOR= __VTOR_TABLE_NS_start; #endif This correction helps, and I am able switch from secure to nonsecure mode. Anyway, nonsecure code soon fa
Hello everyone, I would like to know if someone has ever tried to couple those two hardware components together?I am currently using the STM32C092RC board to build an FD-CAN network, and I would like to exchange some real data — or more explicitly, to simulate some real scenarios. Since the C092RC has an UNO shield connector, I thought I could easily use the VL53L8CX sensor on it.But the platform.h file, which normally communicates with the hardware, is made for the STM32F4xx family. So, is there any way to get the correct platform version for the STM32C0xx family? Has anyone ever tried this?
I'm a first time user of STM32 and trying to get my environment setup to build using Visual Studio Code. I installed this extension STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code (based on the suggestion from this thread), which ended up installing a number of dependencies. The user guide seems to suggest "Create empty project" is the way to go. I had some difficulty with the main install and had to tweak my settings.json, but I think I finally got the paths correct. But when I build a project, I'm getting this error: [rollbar] Unhandled exception: Unhandled Promise rejection: Post-folder-open Error: No index file found. [object Object] I get the same error when using creating a new project via STM32CubeMX with clang:[rollbar] Unhandled exception: Unhandled Promise rejection: Post-folder-open Error: No index file found. [object Object] However, using STM32CubeMX with gcc, I get this error: [cmake] -- The C compiler identification is unknow

Hi i am working with LTDC with STM32F429ZI Discovery -1 board with onboard LCD. I really want to drive a external LCD RGB display without An ic controller by utilising the Internal LTDC hardware inside the MCU . Can you please give some support on this
Hi everyone.I'm trying to send more than 256 bytes of data from the host to the STM32 using USB CDC VCP, and I don't know why VCP won't accept more than 64 bytes of data. My project is already halfway done. If I switch to the USB bulk method, do I have to replace the USB CDC library and rewrite all the code from scratch? And do I have to create my own library to replace USB CDC?I'm using an STM32F407VET6.I appreciate all your answers.Thank you:).

I am having issues flashing and debugging through the cubide software, and keep getting no target device found. My initial thoughts were I dont have the correct firmware upgrade and drivers however I am trying to download the cubeide programmer/ stws-link007 and 009 for a nucleo-f767zi off https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/nucleo-f767zi.html#tools-software and in all cases whether I chose "get latest" or chose an ealier version I'm met with the following page. I dont see any mention of the site being down but all softwares are doing this, does anyone have any tips?note: I have a Windows x64 system
Hi allI edited a PCB with TESEO-LIV3F with LNA and RF-AMP on the PCB board. Now I need external passive antenna with Male SMA connector.any recommendations? any one with good experience with this Module that can recommend P.N. for antenna?I attached my design.
I am trying to configure a single microphone with a pulse-density modulation (PDM) output on my microcontroller (STM32U575ZIT). It's a CMM-4030DT-261280-TR MEMS microphone. But I can't seem to figure out the basics. The SAI settings mention "Frame Length", "Data Size" and "Slot Size". What even are slots and frames in this context? I think I understand PDM and it makes sense to define a data size: how many bits should be counted together to form a single data point. The other notions however confuse me.Attached is my SAI config from CubeMX. I logged the clock and data using a logic analyzer some testing code on the MCU hoping to figure this out. The code: HAL_SAI_Init(&hsai_BlockA1); std::array<uint8_t, 8> data; data.fill(0); auto ok = HAL_SAI_Receive(&hsai_BlockA1, data.data(), data.size(), 100); HAL_SAI_DeInit(&hsai_BlockA1);The analyzer output and the content of data after this block: For one I am surprised to see 37 rising edges, instead of 8
I cannot get the VCP function of ST-LINK v3 mini working.Windows sees the com port and can open itConnected TX output of UART to pin 14 of ST-LINK 3 mini, but nothing is received on the PC side.Connected some other serial TTL-USB adapter (set to 3.3V), and it works properly. However, the serial TTL-USB adapter has a ground connection and ST-LINK's VCP has common ground with other functions. The debugger function works properly. Is the TX level of VCP 3.3 or 5 V? Does the VCP function work for anyone?Thanks,-- pa
Hi, I have a question about supplying power to DSI interface on STM32H747BGT6 (208 LGFP package).RM0399 says, "The DSI interface is supplied from a dedicated VDD12DSI supply that can be provided eitherby the integrated DSI regulator or by an external DSI supply."The figure also shows the two ways to supply 1.2V to DSI PHY. As far as I read from RM0399, if I want to supply 1.2V to DSI PHY with DSI regulator, I should first deliver 3.3V to VDDDSI, and connect VCAPDSI to VDD12DSI. But the pinout diagram of STM32H747BGT6 (208 LGFP package) has no VDDDSI but only two VDD12DSI.What I would like to ask is:1. Does this mean STM32H747BGT6 (208 LGFP package) is limited to external 1.2V supply to VDD12DSI only or is one of the VDD12DSI the intended "VDDDSI" for internal DSI regulator?2. Whats the recommended capacitor value for VDD12DSI pins on STM32H747BGT6 (208 LGFP package)? Thanks in advance.
Hello guys, I'm new for developing STM32N6's board. I got a NUCLEO-N657X0-Q board and tried it in VS code. When I was trying to "Run and debug", the UI always said that "SWO support is not available form tyhe probe when using the ST-Link GDB server. Disable SWO." and stop running and debugging. Is there anyone have the same problem?? How can I fix this problem?? Thanks for your reply.
Colleagues, I’ve got a nitpick question.Where’s the best place to define USE_FULL_ASSERT ? It can be defined as a preprocessor symbol. Or, it can be #defined in the stm32xxx_hal_conf.h file. Or, is there a setting in the .ioc file? The stm32g4xx_hal_conf.h which STM32cubeIDE had generated for me has this block:/** * @brief Uncomment the line below to expanse the "assert_param" macro in the * HAL drivers code */ /* #define USE_FULL_ASSERT 1U */But it’s not in the the USER CODE block. I’m concerned that the automatic code generator would restore the #define USE_FULL_ASSERT back to the commented out line next time it re-generates stm32g4xx_hal_conf.h .Best regards,- Nick
Hello everyone,I’m planning to buy a Surface Laptop 7 with a Qualcomm processor. I use STM32CubeIDE frequently for my work, and I’m wondering if STM32CubeIDE and the ST-Link driver are compatible with an ARM64-based laptop. Many thanks,
Has there been any confirmation if there are any compatibility issues with running the STM32CubeIDE on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Series based Windows 11 Hardware?
