Hello everyone,I'm a beginner in the STM32 world,A teacher has lent us a STM32MP157C-DK2 board (with a A7 and a M4) for a challenge, and I am currently trying to upload a program for the MCU (a button which switches the color of a RGB LED).As I'll first describe my complete setup and what I have already done, so you can directly go to the end of the post if you want to see the main problem I'm facing which is :To "import an OpenSTLinux Project" into cubeIDE,to ultimately update the device tree of the Cortex-A7 into cubeIDE.My setup:A x64 computer running on Windows 11 with WSL 2 Ubuntu 24.04.01 LTS.The STM32MP157C-DK2 board connected to my PC with ST-LINK and by network. On WSL :I downloaded here and installed the STM32 cube IDE 2.1.0 for Debian.I downloaded here and installed the STM32 cube MX 6.17.0 for Linux.I downloaded here and installed the STM32MP1 OpenSTLinux Developer Package for x86.I turned my terminal from Dash to Bash.I added these lines to my /.bas
Hello everyone, this is my first time using an ST microcontroller. Specifically, I am using the MB1389E (NUCLEO-WL55JC1) development board. It has been a bit confusing because most of the tutorials have an old version of STM32CubeIDE where everything was there, but now it seems that many tools must be downloaded separately, such as STM32CubeMX. After solving that, I've managed to get it to perform the most basic functions, such as turning LEDs on and off. However, due to project requirements, I now have to take a big leap and make a connection through the Sigfox network. To do this, I've tried using the Sigfox_AT_Slave example from the STM32CubeWL package, which indicates that by entering “AT” in the terminal will print the ID and PAC of the card to register it in Sigfox, but I have not been successful in that part since even when the code loads without errors, it does not show me anything in the terminal, which in this case I use PuTTY, and I have configured the frequencies of 9600 an
With Apple planning to deprecate Rosetta 2 after macOS Tahoe, I’d like to ask about the future of ST tools on macOS. As far as I understand, some of the current tools still rely on Rosetta, so this could become a problem for Apple Silicon users going forward. Are there any plans to provide native ARM versions of the ST tools? And for long-term use, would you recommend staying with the current `stlink-server`, or is it safer to start migrating to OpenOCD to avoid being blocked once Rosetta support is gone? Thanks!
I need schematic files for this reference design STDES-SSR003V1: STDES-SSR003V1 | Product - STMicroelectronics .Could someone support me please? Thank you so much.
Hello, I have some setup variables in my app which should retained while the power is switched off. Normally I would use the dedicated Backup RAM, but the board does not have backup battery, battery socket, not a battery connector. The Backup RAM is not usable with STM32n6570-DK board. The MCU does not have internal flash memory with backup area. (This worked with H747 and H723 MCUs) The board has an external 1Mbit flash memory controlled by OCTOSPI so I might store data in the external flash. I need max 512 bytes only. This 512-byte backup should be placed to the end of the external flash. Can anybody advice how to do this? Best regards, Louis
Hello STM Support Team, I am currently using the ADC1283 to acquire analog data with the PIC32MZ2048EFH100 microcontroller via SPI. I have verified that the MCU’s SPI module works correctly when tested independently. However, when interfacing with the ADC1283, the device is not returning valid conversion data and consistently responds with 0xFF. At this point, I am unsure whether the issue is hardware-related or software-related. I am sharing the following for your review: Firmware source files (.C and .H) (I referred one of your example firmware for ADC1283 from any online portal and created logic). SPI configuration details Schematic diagram logic analyzer waveform. Could you please review them and help identify the root cause of the issue? Our project is currently in the testing phase, so resolving this issue is quite urgent. Your prompt support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Best regards,Tushar
I am currently using the STM32F446ZET6 chip, which comes with 16MB of off-chip SDRAM. I have been trying to run the program in the SDRAM, but have not been successful. I would appreciate any help.
Hi, i want to use STM32U385RG (NUCLEO-U385RG-Q) to read and write files on SD using SDMMC (1 bit mode) interface, with FileX in standalone mode. I've successfully tested Fx_File_Edit_Standalone (SRAM) example and SD_ReadWrite_DMA (1 bit mode) example. Following my MX_FileX_Process function: VOID MX_FileX_Process(VOID) { UINT status; ULONG bytes_read; CHAR read_buffer[32]; CHAR data[] = "This is FileX working on STM32"; /* Start application */ printf("FileX Edit Standalone Application Start.\n"); /* Open the sram_disk driver. */ status = fx_media_open(&sram_disk, "STM32_SDIO_DISK", fx_stm32_sd_driver, (VOID *)FX_NULL, (VOID *) fx_sd_media_memory, sizeof(fx_sd_media_memory)); /* Check the media open status. */ if (status != FX_SUCCESS) { Error_Handler(); } printf("SD card opened.\n"); /* Create a file called STM32.TXT in the root directory. */ status = fx_file_create(&sram_disk, "STM32.TXT"); /* Check the create status. */ if (status != FX_SUCCESS)
Dear ST team,I am planning to use STM32H753ZIT6 in my design and also planning to use NUCLEO 144 H7 LEGACY for development activities. Could anyone help me whether I can use the NUCLEO 144 H7 LEGACY board to program the STM MCU which is going to assemble in my board? If possible please let me know how to isolate the on board MCU which is present in the NUCLEO 144 H7 LEGACY board.RegardsShyam
Hello.. i am encountering this issue very frequently, the build analyzer unable to update after modified code and build, run. i have click the 2-round arrow on the top right menu, and click "on request "on view build setting. Yet still unable to update build analyzer. Anyone can advise? https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeide-mcus/build-analyzer-does-not-work-after-stm32cubeide-update/m-p/652218
Hello Everyone, This is the code that I have tried many times and tried to debug as well. I have attached a snapshot of the error of the debugging section (disassembly ). I have not been able to understand what of my code leads to this error , and how to solve this? /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2026 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root directory of this software component. * If no LICENSE file comes with this software, it is provided AS-IS. * ****************************************************************************** */ /* USER CODE END Header */ /* Includes ------------------------------------------------------------------*/ #include
Hi, I'm trying to connect B-G431-ESC1 board, with no success. there is always : try to configure the boardI complile and flash a sample project successfully on the board. However still cannot connect motor profiler to make precision tuning of the motor. Any ideas why it cannot connect? Thank you, Kamil
Hi I am using the STM32N6570-DK board for AI application development and want to flash the code from the 'https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32N6-GettingStarted-ImageClassification' repository. However, when I flash the .elf file from the debug folder, I get an invalid output. Do I need to flash the FSBL and model hex separately? Is there a specific flashing sequence I should follow? Currently, both BOOT0 and BOOT1 are set to 0, and I suspect the AI model is missing from the flash memory.Best RegardsRam
Basically continuation of https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeprogrammer-mcus/stm32cubeprogrammer-upload-fail-after-update-to-2-20/td-p/825113 - after fixing the hex to correctly span both the banks, upload error (using ST-Link) still persists. Firmware can be uploaded using USB bootloader, just the ST-LINK upload fails. It seems that this is a bug of the STM32CubeProgrammer.STM32CubeProgrammer v2.20.0.I attach the firmware hex. I also attach log from the programmer.@PKola.1 @STOne-32 @Maryem
Spent a lot of time on this and found that ST's code omits a key SCSI command which windoze and linux either do not issue or if they do they are not bothered by a non-response. Details around here https://www.eevblog.com/forum/microcontrollers/any-way-to-do-a-fat16-usb-msc-drive-in-2mb-flash/msg6206067/#msg6206067
Hello,I've got a question about pairing and bonding for BLE with iOS devices for ST67W61.I've checked available functions and AT commands, I don't see any mean to encrypt the characteristic. As the iOS BLE stack requires it to pair and bond - am I missing something or it's not yet implemented?Best regards
Dear ST Community, I hope you are doing well. I am currently working with the STM32U5 development board and would like to integrate an SD card module using SPI communication. However, while configuring my project in STM32CubeMX / CubeIDE, I was unable to find the FATFS middleware option under the middleware section. My goal is to use FATFS with an SD card operating in SPI mode. Could you please guide me on how to enable or integrate FATFS for SPI-based SD card communication on the STM32U5 series? If manual integration is required, I would appreciate any official documentation, example projects, or recommended procedures.
Dear Team, I am currently working on an STM32F207-based custom board using Ethernet (RMII with LAN8742A PHY) and LwIP in NO_SYS (bare-metal, no RTOS) mode. I am facing an issue where Ethernet and UART are not functioning correctly in parallel. Project Details: MCU: STM32F207 PHY: LAN8742A (RMII mode, PHY address = 1) LwIP Operating Mode: NO_SYS = 1 (No RTOS) DHCP enabled (also tested with static IP) UART2 used for debug output (blocking HAL_UART_Transmit) Issue Description: When Ethernet (LwIP) is enabled and initialized using MX_LWIP_Init(), UART output stops working. Even simple debug prints placed before Ethernet processing in the main loop are not printed. However: If Ethernet/LwIP is disabled, UART works normally. If MX_LWIP_Init() is commented out, UART works. Ethernet link LEDs indicate that PHY is active. This suggests that enabling Ethernet + LwIP in NO_SYS mode is interfering with system execution or blocking during initialization or processing. Observatio
Hi,I would like to create a project with CubeMX where I handle files on a SD card with FAT Fs file system using a STM32U5 mcu. When I select the STM32U5 MCU in CubeMX the FATFS middleware is not available, while If I select other MCUs series like STM32F for example the FATFS Middleware is available.I tried to find the FATFS software package to manually install it into CubeMX but I haven't found nothing. Is FATFS middleware available for STM32US MCUs for CubeMX ? Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone,I’m currently working with the STM32N6 and the new ST Edge AI Core v3.0, trying to deploy some Speech Enhancement models. I’m specifically targeting architectures like LiSenNet, GTCRN, and UL-UNAS because they are theoretically designed for embedded hardware..However, the workflow with STM-model-zoo-services is giving me a hard time:Analyze Failure: After training -->best_model.onnx --> stedgeai.exe analyze -m best_model.onnx --> fails immediately.Quantization Issues: When I try to quantize, I consistently get an "Incomplete symbolic shape inference" error. It seems the compiler struggles with dynamic shapes or specific operators even though these models should be compatible. Is the ST Edge AI Core v3.0 limited to simpler architectures like TCN for Speech Enhancement, or is there a way to make GTCRN work?
Hi,I am a beginner working with the STM32 Nucleo-N657X0-Q and trying to deploy a pre-trained model from the ST Model Zoo.Environment:Board: Nucleo-N657X0-QTools: STM32CubeMX (latest), STM32CubeIDE (latest), X-CUBE-AI (latest)Model: resnet8_32_tfs_int8.tfliteWorkflow: Followed the STM32CubeIDE 2.0.0 workflow tutorial from the ST Community. Hello ST Support Team,I am using STM32N6 with Neural-ART NPU (ST Edge AI 3.0) and comparing inference outputs between:1. TFLite on PC, and2. the converted model running on STM32N6 NPU.Could you please clarify how `rsqrt` is implemented on STM32N6 NPU?I would like to know:1. Is `rsqrt` a native HW operator, or is it decomposed (for example into `sqrt + reciprocal`)?2. What approximation method is used internally (LUT / polynomial / Newton-Raphson / other)?3. What numeric format is used in the HW path (fixed-point details, precision)?4. What rounding and saturation rules are applied?5. Are there documented error bounds or expected max/mean error vs float reference?6. Is there any compiler/runtime option to select a more accurate vs faster mode for this operation? My model uses INT8 I/O and the same input tensor on both platforms. Thank you.
Hi,I am trying to analyze a custom Speech Enhancement ONNX model targeting STM32N6, but the tool fails immediately with an internal error.Command executed (cmd)stedgeai analyze -m onnx\best_trained_model.onnx --target stm32n6 --compression none --verbosityST Edge AI Core v3.0.0-20426Tool versionST Edge AI Core v3.0.0-20426ErrorTOOL ERROR: index 0 is out of bounds for axis 0 with size 0 The model is an ONNX export of a neural network used for speech enhancement.
