Posted on January 13, 2015 at 16:29Hi, we are designing a VoIP (SIP/RTP) device with a stm32 microcontroller. It must also have WiFi connectivity, so SPWF01 would be a natural choice. However we've run into limitations of built-in TCP/IP stack while checking required functionality with devkit: 1) It's not possible to specify local port that client UDP socket binds to. We could do instead with a) creating socket, b) finding out local port it's bound to, c) specifying remote host:port to ''connect'' to, but that can't be done either. 2) Server UDP socket cannot communicate with several clients. Packets from the same IP from different ports are merged in common data stream. Packets from other addresses are ignored. 3) It's not possible to reliably identify boundaries of individual packets. UDP packets are merged in single datastream. Actually in command mode it's possible to calculate boundaries of packets from receive notifications, bu
Posted on January 15, 2015 at 03:30Hi all,I have a project in which I have to use MICS band for data telemetry in an implantable device. Can I use the SPIRIT1 for MICS band which centers at 403MHz? (I think the TI CC1101 can be configured to do it, so should be the same for the SPIRIT1).If it is possible, then I guess I can still use the reference BOM for 433MHz for my design and the only thing I need to change is to configure the frequency base and center frequency to 403MHz through the Spirit1DK GUI?I'm looking forward to hearing from you all,ThanksQuyen
Posted on December 19, 2014 at 21:13From the landing page on the SPIRIT1 Radio, if i want to operate 915/922 MHz Band - what is required to get started? Can I use two of the Dongles evaluation modules - STEVAL0IKRV001V5 (on a computer perhaps with 2 USB ports) or one each of the STEVAL-IKR002V5 and the above USB Dongle part STEVAL01KRV001V5. Thank you for your help. #spirit1
Posted on September 29, 2014 at 11:06Hi, I just installed the STSW-CONNECT009 pack, and upon starting the Spirit1 DK I get an error. The error in the error-log.txt is the following: ''local variable 'key' referenced before assignment''Could anyone help me with a solution?(my system is a fresh Windows7)edit: solved - usb driver error, nothing to do with the software (the response message could be more straightforward though) #spirit1
Posted on November 21, 2014 at 03:44Hi, I am working with evaluation board (STEVAL-IDW001V1) equipped with the WiFi module (SPWF01SA.11), and having trouble with updating the firmware (FW) to the board. I followed the instructions to have BOOT0 high during power up and then pressing RESET (SW1), but the board doesn't respond with a ready message on my terminal software. In addition, I have tried a few troubleshooting options with the factory FW. I currently have a USB to UART bridge (UB232R) to try and send AT commands after the Eval Board gives the follow messages: +WIND:1:Poweron (140128-caf4b79-SPWF01S) +WIND:13:ST SPWF01SA1 IWM: Copyright (c) 2012-2014 STMicroelectronics, Inc. Posted on December 17, 2014 at 10:35Hi all, I'm using the WiFi module to connect to infra WiFi in socket server mode. The module return (through serial link) that connection to WiFi is OK. But sometimes, in the WiFi router interface (a Freebox), the module is seen but stay in a not reachable status. At the end, it's not possible to send data to socket server. Even a ping to module address doesn't work. Sometimes it works perfectly... for few hours and then back to unreachable. Posted on December 18, 2014 at 10:13We are currently developing a product that uses the SPWF01S module running firmware:140623-cd34ea1-SPWF01S.Our product relies on the firstset.cgi to connect to a network, the situation is as follows: A microcontroller controls the SPWF01SThe SPWF01S is started in MiniAPThe microcontroller creates a custom pages with available networks. This custom page contains a html form that pushes its data into firstset.cgiA user can select a network and the firstset.cgi will then tell the SPWF01S to connect to that networkThe problem:We had this working correctly, but made changes to the code of the microcontroller, that should not affect the described situation, but somehow it does.When using the same webpage, the SPWF01S can no longer connect to WPA2 networks, because is no longer crunches the key:When working correcty:+WIND:28:Station 00:22:43:96:6A:68 Associated +WIND:29:DHCP reply for 172.31.178.2/00:22:43:96:6A:68
Posted on December 04, 2014 at 11:02Apparently there should be ''X-CUBE-IDB04_L0 STM32Cube expansion software for X-NUCLEO-IDB04A1'' available here, but it is not present on that web page: http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF261371 and described here: http://www.st.com/st-web-ui/static/active/en/resource/technical/document/data_brief/DM00141415.pdf Where is this software? Posted on October 23, 2014 at 14:24Hi all, I'm new in this forum and apologize if my question already exists (but I haven't found)... In these days, I spent a lot of my time trying to use Bluetooth IDB04A1 with a Nucleo STM32F302 board without results... I know that the protocol used for communication is SPI and not UART (instead the previous board worked using uart) and, for this reason, I seem that BLE doesn't work with my board and I have to buy STM32F401. Is it correct what I think? Tanks a lot Marcello
Posted on December 10, 2014 at 07:41Hi, I'm trying to set the advertising data and make it advertise, but the client doesn't detect any of the data. Here are the command that I use: HCI_LE_Set_Advertizing_Parameters HCI_LE_Set_Random_Address HCI_LE_Set_Advertizing_Data HCI_LE_Set_Advertize_Enable What am I missing? Thanks
Posted on December 03, 2014 at 00:41I've tried with changing the local name in BLUEHCI_GAP_SET_DISCOVERABLE, but it still shows as bluenrg during advertisement. Is there another command for this?

Posted on November 26, 2014 at 00:24This might be a question for Salvatore Capobianco, since his name is on the Dynamic Web Pages ap note. (no good turn goes unpunished)The context of my questions is a smart device using an SPWF01S as a miniAP, bring up some web pages for configuration setting and status retrieval.Could you give me an idea of how you would recommend putting together a set of web pages to control a device from an SPWF01S? I am having some troubles getting my mind around the HTML page transitions that are built into input.cgi and output.cgi and I think I might need an example of how you would put together 3 or 4 pages using the existing code.Assume you had one landing page (index.html) that branched off into, say, two sub pages that would gather configuration information for the device hosted by the micro. For configuring a device, the pages would be preset with the parameters in the device, so all of the checkboxes and sliders are set according to device parameter
Posted on November 26, 2014 at 17:56 Hello, I try to set up a spirit1 device. I use your given Spiriti1 library and the example projects, but while radiInit, my device stuck everytime on the same point: SpiritCmdStrobeLockTx(); do{ SpiritRefreshStatus(); }while(g_xStatus.MC_STATE != MC_STATE_LOCK); This piece of code is located in the SpiritManagementWaVcoCalibration(void) function (SPIRIT_Management.c), which gets called during SpiritRadioInit(&radio); Instead of going into lock state, the device remains in PM_setup state (0x3B). Do you now why the device behaves like this? However, here is my SRadioInit config: #define XTAL_FREQUENCY 52000000 #define SPIRIT_VERSION SPIRIT_VERSION_3_0 #define USE_MIDDLE_BAND #define XTAL_OFFSET_PPM 0 #ifdef USE_VERY_LOW_BAND #define BASE_FREQUENCY 0e6 #endif #ifdef USE_LOW_BAND #define BASE_FREQUENCY 0e6 #endif #ifdef USE_MIDDLE_BAND #define BASE_FREQUENCY 40e6 #endif #ifdef USE_HIGH_BAND #define BASE_FREQUENCY 80e6 #
Posted on October 13, 2014 at 10:33HelloI have the following issue with BlueNRG: when I try to use ''INDICATION'' to sending data from server to client I have ble crash (the BlueNRG stops to respond to any command) after a few indicate packet (50 - 60). When I use ''NOTIFICATION'' this problem is not appear. I have checked this issue in ''Ble_chat'' project (I have modified characteristic properties for ''charUuidTX'' from ''CHAR_PROP_NOTIFY'' to CHAR_PROP_INDICATE and set delay (1s) between sending packet) and this issue also has appeared. Maybe do you have any idea what could be the problem? Thanks Regards Software engineer, Andrei Kukenov
Posted on November 25, 2014 at 17:00Dear ST The application command interface (ACI )document UM1755 is incomplete. Many of the calls don't list the parameters to pass, and the results returned. In some cases it is possible to find this information from the Bluetooth specification, but in other cases (especially for the Vendor Specific Events) there is no Bluetooth equivalent. This makes development work very hard. The general request is: can you please complete the ACI documentation. (You must have internal documentation - can you share it please?) In the immediate term I am trying to interrogate a service and characteristics on a remote computer (specifically, I am trying to obtain the time using the Time Service). I am trying to use relevant commands but I can't interpret the results they return. Can you please provide the missing information for these Vendor-Specific Events: Bluehci_Att_Find_By_Type_Value_Resp (0x0c05) Bluehci_Att_Read_By_Type_Resp (0x0c06) Bluehci_Att_Read_Resp (
Posted on November 25, 2014 at 17:23I need some information about this WiFi Module, I've already read theonline doc but I haven't found all the information I need.1) I see the module use Uart1 to communicate with host, with hardware control, but I can't use the flow control on my application, does the module start with flow control enabled or not?2) I see that is available the JTAG connector, do I need to map the connector on my board? Do I need to flash the device manually or it comes already flashed with the latest firmware?3) I see on documentation that STAToMiniAP require GPIO[7], but I can't find reference about this function in order to understand if I need or not to connect this Pin4) is the firmware upgrade over OTA available? do I need to predispose something particular in my hardware to use the OTA?Thanks for the support
Posted on October 21, 2014 at 09:20Hello,In the module spwf01sa there are already some interfaces .cgi, but how can I add new ones? With the the AT+FSC and AT+FSA commands? Or there is another method?
Posted on April 08, 2014 at 23:21Does anyone have any information about why these parts are restricted outside the US? We have been trying to order the dev kit and some samples to New Zealand for several months now, and both DigiKey and Mouser states it cannot be shipped due to US export regulations. #bluenrg
Posted on November 19, 2014 at 14:43Hello everybody!It is interesting to me to make an electronic device which can receive data from the mobile devices (e.g. Mobile Phone or Computer). The main idea is to send data to electronic device by using the html web page and internal browser of the mobile device. So I bought module SPWF01SA.Using the reference manual to the SPWF module I understood that it can working in two modes which is interesting to me. Either the Mini AP mode or a IBSS mode.In the IBSS mode i can use the HTML web pages was writed in internal memory (like an output_demo.html) and to send the string to my SPWF module and get it by the UART port. Yes I done it.But my question is next.Is there any ways to get raw HTTP request from the client to my server (either in IBSS mode or miniAP mode) by the UART (or SPI)?Hope, somebody can help me or say smth interesting about this. Grazie! #spwf01sa #wifi
Posted on November 21, 2014 at 01:26Has anybody managed to get the #input SSI to hand over a value for anything but display?I'm trying to figure out how to set some controls (sliders, check boxes...) based on values that will be provided by my micro by having them prompted for rather than generating html at run time.I've tried things like using #input in a script:window.onload = function() { var blah = <!--#input -->; var value_display = document.getElementById(''value_display''); value_display.value=blah;}or setting up a widget directly: <input id=''slider'' type=''range'' min=''12'' max=''50'' value=''12'' step=''2'' id=''slider'' ><br>Value: <input type=''text'' id=''value_display'' value=<!--#input --> >But none of it works.Ideas?
Posted on April 28, 2014 at 16:28Hi, I just received a STEVAL-IDW001V1 eval module. It is meant to connect to a Discovery F0 board, but intend on using it with a STM32F215 processor based device. I haven't found much documentation about this eval board. I have: STEVAL-IDW001V1 - Wi-Fi daughterboard for STM32F0DISCOVERY which includes a schematic and a general outline of what the board can do. No specifics as to what the jumpers are for, what the important connections are, etc. STEVAL-IDW001V1 Schematic diagram This seems to have no relation to the eval board??? SPWF01Sx - Serial-to-Wi-Fi b/g/n intelligent modules This does, at least, give pin-out for the WiFi module being evaluated alond with some min/max ratings. And, the most useful so far: SPWF01Sx AT Command set reference guide Is there any detailed info on the eval board, or is this it? Thanks for any additional info! Vance
