Posted on July 22, 2016 at 16:10Hello, While doing my PoC on the Wifi module, I see the following messageson the console : +WIND:30:WiFi BSS Lost +WIND:14:WiFi BSS Regained (0) So far, I understand that's a loss of communication with the WiFi AP. Sockets get 1/2 closed (can't be used, but not closed) and I get the mess in communication. I have not found any mean to improve the situation. Two questions : - What are the possible causes of the messages Wind 30 / 14 ? - What can I do to improve the situation ? Thanks a lot Zirco
Posted on July 05, 2016 at 16:57Hi All I'm using the BlueNRG Chip together with the LightBlue iOS app. I was able to set up 2 services (Device Information and Battery Service). However the LightBlue app states ''No Service'' but when I connect both services are working fine. What is needed to show the service information right in the LightBlue app? many thanks Ben #lightblue #bluenrg #service
Posted on July 25, 2016 at 07:57Hi,I want to interface X-Nucleo-IDB04A1 (BlueNRG) with STM32F217 (using STM3221G Eval board). I have used the SensorDemo in X-cube-ble1 (for X-Nucleo-IDB04A1 and Nucleo-L053R8 ) and I have re-adpated the files to be compatible with STM3221G Eval board, that is the port mapping and all drivers, I run the code and i find no errors. I load the application and I get nothing when testing with my Android phone 4.4 (BLE compliant). Could anybody give me some tips on how I can work this around? ThanksSteps I have taken into this approach:1- Connect the pins to Corresponding SPI pins2- Include all drivers for the STM32F217 to be recognized by the compiler3-add lines to USE the STM322xG_Eval in all relevant files (C and h)4-Check relevant include paths, and files5- Build all target (no errors) and load #stm32f217 #x-nucleo-idb04a1
Posted on July 15, 2016 at 15:09HelloI use a BlueNRG with a STM32F302x8. To test the SPI I use the AN4494 and it works fine. After a BlueNRG reset I read a Blue_Initialized_Event (04 FF 03 01 00 01) by using an interrupt on SPI_IRQ and the function HCI_isr(). So I think my SPI is good.If I want to get the BlueNRGVersion with getBlueNRGVersion() the SPI is never ready !!! I have the interrupt but the ridden header slave is FF FF FF 02 7F when I send 0b 00 00 00 00. After the reset it was 02 7F 00 00 00 before to read the event. What is the problem ?ThanksEric
Posted on July 21, 2016 at 13:33Hello, I managed to setup a full mutual auth TLS system with SPWF01Sx and Nginx server. I have reliability problems to open the socket. Sometimes, the socket opens without problem, sometimes opening fails and I get the error -112. Looking at Nginx logs, the connexion doesn't reach the server, so the problem seems to be on the device connection. Is there a detailed description of possible causes of error -112 ? Any advice on how to debug the issue is welcome. Best regards Zirco #error-ssl/tls-mutual-auth
Posted on July 05, 2016 at 11:06Hi,I can't receive the UDP packets sent from SockTest (SERVER) to the Wi Fi module (CLIENT).I connect the Wi Fi module via TeraTerm, configure it and then sent an ''AT+S.SOCKON=192.168.32.255,4999,u,ind'' to prepare the Wi Fi module to listen for udp packets. Now, from SockTest, I sent a message to 192.168.32.255 (or the specific IP of theWi Fi module) / port 4999 but I don't receive nothing (I should receive the WIND:55 indication).I try to test even with the CubeExpansion WIFI1 V2.1.0 - Client_Socket firmware for IAR, the sent function is OK but I can't receive the message from the Server (SockTest ) on the Wi Fi Module.I only change the protocol from ''t'' of TCP to ''u'' UDP.If I use the with TCP protocol it work well.I need to have the UDP packets receive. The FW is 160129-c5bf5ceRegard.Stefano.
Posted on July 20, 2016 at 21:24Hello, I am running Windows 10 and I am trying to figure out how to test the one-way authentication in the application note AN4683. I have apache and openssl downloaded but I need help creating the certificate/key and how to start a server and then connect the wifi module to that server? I have generated keys and certificates using page 28/29 but I don't know what arguments to put in them (so i just kept what was given) when generating the keys/certificates. Three main questions are: 1. Which keys and certificates do I generate to test one-way authentication with my computer as the server and module as the client, and how do I generate them (aka what args/values do I use when doing the openssl commands) 2. How do I start the server with the certificates I just generated? (I tried the command on page 20 of AN4683 but it didn't work) 3. How do I connect the SPWF01Sx to this server on my computer? Please let me know any information or help that you have. T

Posted on July 17, 2016 at 12:35Hello, Doing the Example 1 of the AN4683 (TLS Example 1, mutual auth), all commands work without problem (keys and certificate generation), same for imports in Wifi module (send back ''OK'') But the last command : AT+S.SOCKON=ipaddress,443,s returns ''ERROR: Unable to load CA certificate'' (of course ipaddress is the ip address of my TLS server) I have several questions : - Is the CA certificate checked during import in the module ? According to my test, the certificate is not checked during import (could you confirm ?) - Is the example given in the doc works for you ? - Any clue ? Thanks a lot Zirco
Posted on July 19, 2016 at 19:45When monitoring the SPI bus on the IDB002V1, I notice that polling stops for 3 to 6 mS every time a Command Complete Event is received. This slows down how fast we can send commands to the BlueNRG. Is there any way to reduce this time? I am trying to see what kind of throughput we can get. #vcom-spi-throughput

Posted on July 14, 2016 at 20:18While I await some expert help on the question about a packet sniffer for the STack protocol, can anyone describe what is the ACK in the STack protocol? What does it look like (i.e. does it have a preamble and/or sync and/or CRC)? What is it's payload, just some random byte or bytes? Any specific values? Thanks...
Posted on February 23, 2015 at 12:20Hello, I am currently testing the code examples provided with the SPIRIT evaluation kit. (the kit used is STEVAL-IKR002Vx). The exmple name is ''StackGeneric''. The behaviour is, quite weird. Indeed, when I send 3 messages for example, sometimes the receiver only get the first one, sometimes the last one, sometimes it only receive a part of the packet. With some investigation, i found that, for a fixed payload of 20bytes, the first message received was only of 19bytes length (I think that is why some messages are not complete). An other thing, the sequence number does not increase at each packet received. Does someone have an idea about this problem ? Sincerely, Loc Dauphin #steval-problems #stack #spirit1
Posted on July 14, 2016 at 20:16How can I configure the ST DK eval from the SPIRIT1 DK GUI Application v2.2.0 to properly sniff packets that are sent using the STack packet mode? I have implemented my system from a sample app and tuned it using the configuration exported from the GUI configuration and before changing from BASIC to STack packet mode, the GUI was able to sniff (so all of the baud, channel stuff must be working). But now with STack packet mode, the GUI rejects everything as ''Packet lost. CRC error''. I did change values in the ''Registers table'' and hit ''Refresh'' button to show that they took hold in the radio, but it still rejects the STack packets. #spirit1-stack-packet-sniffer
Posted on July 13, 2016 at 03:49I am trying to configure for STack packet mode using fixed length packets with 4 preamble 4 sync 1 dst addr 1 src addr 0 control 80 data 2 crc The total of above is 92, but data sheet says the length is only inclusive of addresses + data length. So what should I set the PCKTLEN1_BASE and PCKTLEN0_BASE registers? I tried setting to only 82, but auto ack is not working. As an experiment, I set to use variable length mode and on Rx side, read RX_PCKT_LEN registers and see that they are set to 92. Also to note, when configured for fixed length mode, on Rx side read RX_PCKT_LEN registers after getting a packet and they are ZERO. #spirit1-stack-packet-fixed-len
Posted on July 11, 2016 at 11:48Hi all, I am working with the following hardware to obtain a ''proof of concept'' before starting new hardware development: ------------------------ - STM32L476 discovery - IDW01M1 nucleo board Connected the two boards, using L476 USART2 for communication with IDW01M1. This is the Access Point. -------------------- - STM32F746 discovery - IDW01M1 nucleo board This is the ''client''. ------------------- Software: using STM32CubeExpansion for WiFi v2.1.0 libraries ; I am writing application code using FreeRTOS. L476: started ''mini AP mode'' with IDW01M1 and activated ''socket server'' mode ; this is OK. F746: it connects to the mini AP and successfully opens a socket. Back to L476: when the client opens the socket, this triggers a call to ''ind_socket_server_client_joined'', which puts a state variable to ''write mode''. Main loop then executes a ''wifi_socket_server_write'' to ''push'' an UNSOLICITED message to the client. These are the problems (messag
Posted on June 15, 2016 at 15:22Hello, I wrote my software with SPWF01SA.11 Version 140805-3f58d6b to use it as a mini-webserver linked to a wifi router (wifi_mode = 1, no dhcp). My code is working well with this item. Now, we received new modules SPWF01SA.11 Version 150410-c2e37a3 and the module do not work well. I upgraded one of them to Version 160129-c5bf5ce, and my mini-webserver does not have a good behavior : - wifi connection seems OK (i get +WIND:24:Wifi Up) but I can't ping my module from PC (or just a few seconds). My module with 140805-3f58d6b is still working well. First question : - where can I get version SPWF01S-140805-3f58d6b.OTA to downgrade the new modules (and is it a good idea ?) to check if my problem is well a version problem. Second question: Is it a problem of configuration ? I do not find, the differences between my modules status and configuration are below : STATUS version = 140805-3f58d6b / 160129-c5bf5ce wifi_aid = 3 &nb

Posted on June 15, 2016 at 13:15Hi to all, I've created simple dynamic webpages using CGI and SSI provided by the wi-fi module. The pages are stored in the external flash of the SPWF01SA module and it works well. Now I would like to add authentication to the pages by entering a username and password on the first page. There is HTTP with SSL protocol implemented for secure identification of the web server? If not, please give me some guide how can I implement this kind (or any other type) of authentication. Thanks a lot.
Posted on March 23, 2015 at 13:57Hi All, I'm evaluating the SPWF01, so I want to send an Android GCM HTTP post (json or plain text) - but I've no success. I tried it with: AT+S.HTTPPOST=android.googleapis.com,/gcm/send,Content-Type:application/x-www-form-urlencoded;charset=UTF-8&Authorization:key=APIKEY,80 and also with: AT+S.HTTPPOST=android.googleapis.com,/gcm/send,Content-Type:application/json&Authorization:key=APIKEY,80 I got following answer: HTTP/1.0 401 Unauthorized Has anybody an idea or can give me an example how to send the http header via the SPWF AT command? Best regards, Flo #http-post #spwf #gcm
Posted on June 27, 2016 at 13:52Hello!Is there a way to connect to an existing AP without hardcoding the SSID, login credentials etc? For example, using WPS. In the AT command spec there is a Table defining some errors where number 21 has the message ''Cannot use GPIO7. Reserved for WPS feature'' but the meaning is set to ''!!!!Ignore!!!!''. Is this an upcoming feature? Or is there any other way to be able to connect to an arbitrary local AP?Regards,Pontus
