Posted on February 23, 2017 at 14:35I have a BlueNRG IDB005V1D board which is connected to its motherboard. I am trying to install firmware onto the STM32L151RBT6 uC on the motherboard but when I am prompted to enter DFU mode there is no LED flashing orange, and and the attempted flash fails.I tried using the STM32 ST-LINK Utility also to load the DFU_Bootlader.hex but this says that there was no ST-Link device detected. The ST-Link connector that I use does work on another board. Are there any suggestions as to how I can flash the uC? Thank you ,cod
Posted on February 18, 2017 at 00:48Hi,My BlueNRG-MS, running 7.2c, acts both as a central and a peripheral (mode 4). How should I select the advertizing min and max intervals for the peripheral as well as the connection min and max intervals for the central? There seem to be a relationship between them, but I'm not sure I understand it.I'm trying to get the minimal connection interval for the central role, while ensuring proper connectivity for the peripheral.LE_Scan_Interval and LE_Scan_Window seems also to come into play...Right now, I'm testing different values through trial and error, but if there is a mathematical relationship between those, I'd like to know it.Thanks!#bluenrg-ms
Posted on February 23, 2017 at 16:21I try to write to a characteristic on a remote device, BlueNRG-MS works as peripheral client. I call aci_gatt_write_charac_value() and it returns SUCCESS. But then EVT_BLUE_GATT_PROCEDURE_COMPLETE comes and it is sometimes 0x00 (BLE_STATUS_SUCCESS) and sometimes it's 0x41 (BLE_STATUS_FAILED). What could be the reason and how to solve this? Stack is 7.2.c.#ancs #iphone #ble #bluenrg-ms #client
Posted on February 23, 2017 at 22:04Hello I'm using SPWF01SA wifi module. When I do AT+S.SCAN all the available networks around are listed except the open ones. I can see every password protected networks (WPA2) but the open networks are not even seen by the module. Is there any way to list and connect to a non password protected network? Thank you very much.
Posted on February 23, 2017 at 18:39Hello I am using BlueNRG-ms and have a characteristic that is 52 bytes. However when the client reads it they only get the first 20 something bytes, the rest dont get transfered. Both creating the characteristic and updating its value is successfull according to event complete parameters. When i did this using the BlueNRG GUI, with the same size and same data it worked...Char setup:uint8_t data[] = { HIDServiceHandle[0], HIDServiceHandle[1], //Handle of the service to which the characteristic has to be added UUID16BIT, //0x01: 16-bit UUID 0x4b, 0x2a, //UUID 0x34, 0x00, //Maximum length of the characteristic value PROPERTY_READ, //Bitwise OR values of Characteristic Properties 0x00, //0x00: ATTR_PERMISSION_NONE 0x01, //0x01: GATT_SERVER_ATTR_WRITE The application will be notified when a client writes to this attribute 0x10, //The minimum encryp
Posted on February 23, 2017 at 14:49Hi everyone, I want to implement a very simple file transfer via BLE from my SensorTile to a remote device.I need to edit the BlueMicrosystem2 V2.2.0 firmware in order to add a new characteristic: such a characteristic should read a file from the SD card and send them from the SensorTile to the remote device (a kind of reverse FOTA).Reading the file is not a problem, but I have no idea where to start from for developing the service which provides this file upload characteristic. Can you point out a code snippet or where, in the firmware code, there is a similar GATT service that may be adapted easily to me needs. Tnx!Andrea#ble #bluenrg #sensor-tile

Posted on February 22, 2017 at 17:17Hi, i began evaluating the SPWF01SA module, and i managed to make it work with most of the WPA2- personal authenticated networks. I was wondering though, is it possible for the module to join a WPA-enterprise authenticated network? (aka a network that requires user+pass to authenticate)Thank you,Matteo#wifi #spwf01sa
Posted on February 22, 2017 at 11:29Hi,We use SPWF01SC module in customer product. Device will be used in complex WiFi environment. We tried to test WLAN connectivity in 802.11b, g and n setups in order to determine which one will better serve our needs in real world conditions. We were trying to limit connectivity to 802.11g only by disabling 802.11b,n using wifi_opr_rate_mask parameter. It seems this limitation works properly in other combinations, but mask 0x3FC0, 11 1111 1100 0000b (802.11g only) does not work for us.Discovery simply does not find any networks, when we apply this operating rate mask.Base station (router) seems to work properly with other devices in 802.11g network.wifi_ht_mode set to 1.Is there any bug or a misunderstanding on our side?#ieee-802.11 #wi-fi
Posted on January 10, 2016 at 15:06I'm developing a custom firmware for SP1ML but I miss important info regarding connections between the STM32L151RB and the SPIRIT chips. Analysing the firmware loaded on the SP1ML, I understood that: PA5 ------> SPI1_SCK PA6 ------> SPI1_MISO PA4 ------> SPI1_NSS PA7 ------> SPI1_MOSI PA1 ------> SPIRIT_SDNBut I fail to understand how the 4 different IRQ pins of the SPIRIT are connected to the STM32L151RB. I guess that an IRQ is connected to PC4 but I don't know the corresponding IRQ line on the SPIRIT.Regards,Dario #sp1ml-spirit1-stm32l151rb
Posted on February 21, 2017 at 21:57Hello, I am using a BlueNRG-ms (IDB05A1) flashed to latest fw 7.2c trying to develop a HID compliant mouse for Windows. However when pairing with windows using only the basic GATT and GAP(no other services or changes) from the BlueNRG GUI there are some problems, Windows says:Device (0x280E1003C2A) is not Compliant with the Bluetooth Core Specification: previous attribute was a (Characteristic), current attribute is a (Descriptor). Is this a bug or is Windows wrong? BlueNRG-ms page states:'The BlueNRG-MS is a very low power Bluetooth low energy (BLE) single-mode network processor, compliant with Bluetooth specification v4.1.'Is this a cause for concern?#stm32 #bluenrg-ms #windows #idb05a1 #hid #bluetooth #ble
Posted on December 28, 2016 at 09:02Can anyone help me out on this issue? I have taken too much time on this...en.fp-sns_flight1_firmware is the best referencing project which provides good example of pairing procedure and security issue on peripheral side..But I can noy find good example for pairing procedure handling on central side which requires encypted physical link. I followed a programme guide to implement pairing handling and security configuration but I always get pairing failure event.#bluenrg-bluenrg-ms-central-encrypted-physical-link
Posted on December 23, 2016 at 10:31 Can anyone provide sample project ofBlueNRG-MS in central role where security linking is required? In sample project 'STM32CubeExpansion_BLE1_V2.7.0\Projects\Multi\Applications\SampleAppThT', it includes central role but it does not require bonding/pairing. I also checked 'OSXSmartConnPS\OSXSmartConnPS_V1.5.0\Projects\Multi\Applications\Profiles_Central\MDK-ARM\STM32L476RG-Nucleo',which does has central profile framework but no source code of this framework is provided. I use x-Nucleo-IDB05A1 kit to send pairing request toWesu kit. x-Nucleo-IDB05A1 kit is set to central role whileWesu reference kit is coming with peripheral role naturally. Both sides are set to use fixed PIN code 1234 After connection is made, x-Nucleo-IDB05A1 kit sends pairing request to Wesu kit by calling: ret = aci_gap_send_pairing_request(connection_handle,0); Immediately, x-Nucleo-IDB05A1 gets an event of pairing completion with 0x02 which says pairing has just faile
Posted on February 19, 2017 at 07:30AN4630 ('PCB design guidelines for the BlueNRG and BlueNRG-MS devices') shows a schematic and PCB layout example for a discrete balun - what I didn't find are actual values for the components (L2, L3, ..., C9, C10, ...)Are there recommendations for these components available somewhere?ThanksMichael
Posted on February 17, 2017 at 21:15Hello,I am doing some embedded programming on a stm32-nucleo board with a 0DB05A1 BLE shield. I am trying to make a HOGP perihperal (HID over BLE). When I try to pair my device with windows it fails with 'Driver error'. I'm guessing the problem is on my side. I want the bare minimum to be able to use the peripheral as a Boot Mouse.Currently I have the following services and characteristics. The default GATT from GATT_initThe defualt GAP with the following: PERIPHERAL, PRIVACY_DISABLEHID Service Report map characteristic - Read Protocol mode characteristic - Read, Write w/o response HID Information characteristic - Read HID control point characteristic - Write w/o response Boot mouse input report char - Notify, Read Client characteristic configurationBattery S
Posted on February 05, 2017 at 20:27Hi i want to use SPWF01SA wifi module, but i'm confused about connections. I want to control SPWF01S with another mcu and in my schematic i've connected only rx,tx, vcc and gnd also one connector like jtag. But i did not understand how to program module ? My jtag connections right ? In SPWF01SA with nucleo board schematics, there is a connector like a jtag. (Below en.x-nucleo-idw01m1_schematic.pdf) I need help about connections with my mcu and also RTS and CTS pins. I write details below pictures. My design is SPWF_wifi.PDF. I'm sure that, there are forgotten connections. With warmest regards.#module #spwf01sa #wifi

Posted on October 05, 2015 at 09:57Hi, Is it possible to update firmware from host processor over UART without any windows utilities like flash loader? We use FreeRTOS in our product, so, FW update protocol description or any clues are welcome.
Posted on February 14, 2017 at 11:35Hi,I'm using the BlueNRG-MS chipset. As far as I've understood, the connection interval is set through 'aci_gap_set_discoverable' and if the related arguments of the function (SlaveConnIntervMin and SlaveConnIntervMax) are 0, it is set to 7.5 ms (as for BLE standard), otherwise it is set using multiples of 1.25 ms. Which is the minimum value which can be set? Can the connection interval be set to 1.25 ms in order to maximize throughput?Thank you,Daniele#bluenrg-ms

Posted on February 09, 2017 at 19:42When I run aci_hal_write_config_data() as a first command after BlueNRG-MS reset, I get ERR_CMD_SUCCESS. But when I call getBlueNRGVersion() first, then I get ERR_COMMAND_DISALLOWED from aci_hal_write_config_data(). What is the reason? How checking BlueNRG-MS version can affect any other command?#command #version #aci #bluenrg-ms
Posted on February 08, 2017 at 04:39Do you have reference project for central role which has pairing prodedures?I know en.fp-sns_flight1_firmware is the best referencing project which provides good example of pairing procedure and security issues on peripheral side..But I could not find a good example project for central side like en.fp-sns_flight1_firmware. All the reference projects for central role that I have downloaded from ST website do not have code for handling pairing procedures. That is why I need a referencing project which enables me to implement pairing function in my project.
Posted on December 21, 2016 at 20:13Hello! I am trying to use SPBT2632C2A module. But it does not issue the stated parameters for data transfer rate and for reasons unknown to us periodically stops sending data for periods of the order of several hundred milliseconds. Where to look about this problem? or may be someone faced with this problem?
Posted on January 30, 2017 at 23:57We are trying to reach real-time 50mS per round trip of 20 byte TCP messages of receive and then send response. I'm actually seeing closer to 150mS round trip time. Much of this time is taken up in switching between data and command mode. Our measurements indicated 88mS or 44mS per side. Switching to command mode requires the following characters Tx:'at+s' and Rx:'+WIND:59:Back to Command Mode'. At 115,200 bps that's 0.00295sec at 10 bits per char which is 6.8% of 44mS delay. What is the other 93.2% of the delay time? How long should it take to switch from data mode to command mode? This appears to be putting excessive overhead on our message traffic?
