Posted on October 18, 2017 at 10:58Hello,I'm pretty new to BLE devices. I intend to develop a BLE central application device that needs to run in low power most of the time. This central device will be paired with some other slave devices arround. My slaves will send data when it is needed. My question is the following and regards the central application device : is it possible to combine a BLE central application device and ultra low power, that is to say, is it possible to wake up my device when there is data to listen ? Or do i need to manually set my device in RX mode and wait for data coming from my slaves ?If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to share your thoughts :)Regards,Aurélien
Posted on March 15, 2017 at 10:48Hi,What is the best way to generate custom BLE 128 bit UUIDs ?How has ST generated the custom UUIDs in the firmware examples of Sensortile kit related to BLE ? For example, following are some UUIDs(in bold) in one of the firmware example :/* Hardware Characteristics Service */&sharpdefine COPY_HW_SENS_W2ST_SERVICE_UUID(uuid_struct) COPY_UUID_128(uuid_struct,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x11,0xe1,0x9a,0xb4,0x00,0x02,0xa5,0xd5,0xc5,0x1b)&sharpdefine COPY_ENVIRONMENTAL_W2ST_CHAR_UUID(uuid_struct) COPY_UUID_128(uuid_struct,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x11,0xe1,0xac,0x36,0x00,0x02,0xa5,0xd5,0xc5,0x1b)Is there a tool available for the same ?Best Regards.#ble-128-bit-custom-uuid #uuid #bluenrg #st-bluenrg
Posted on October 11, 2017 at 20:52Hello! I have an issue with SPWF01SA11 one-way SSL/TLS connection. I am sure I check all similar cases here, but still can't solve my problem. Posted on October 17, 2017 at 10:05I have an STEVAL-IDS001V5M dongle I'm trying to test. I installed the SPIRIT1 DK v. 2.2.1 on my Windows 10 PC. During the install one of the driver installations fails (the usbser device installed by dpinst_amd64.exe), but my dongle still comes up as a COM port. Two other device drivers are installing correctly, and I've tried multiple re-installs of the first driver but it always fails.Despite the failure I can connect to my dongle via Putty and talk to it ok. When I run the SPIRIT1 DK GUI it finds the COM port for the dongle (COM27 in my case) and when I open it I get 'Old GUI Firmware detected. Now a firmware update procedure will be started...'. When I click OK I get a warning about making sure the orange LED is flashing and the COM port disappears from the device manager (I guess the board is being put into DFU mode). The orange LED is flashing so I click Apply but then, after about 10 seconds, I get a '

Posted on October 05, 2017 at 10:47I am evaluating the use of the SPBTLE-1S module, based on BlueNRG-1 and Bluetooth v4.2 compilant, to interact with iOS. BLE 4.2 specification includes data length extension feature which improves throughput and reduces transaction time. However, according to documentation, only BlueNRG-2 supports BLE extended packet length feature. Is it possible to upgrade BLE stack embedded software (library managing the RF part) with a version wich extends the possible MTU size up to 158 bytes?Thank in advance.

Posted on October 06, 2017 at 15:49Hello, I'm working on a project, where I need RF transceivers. I chose Your SP1ML transceiver modules, but I was dissapointed when I tried the devices, because the low distance range. The distance range abaout 20-23 m. Above this distance the devices didn't communicate with each other. I didn't find documentation anywhere, about distance range, or about register settings of this module which I can achieve the best performance. Can You help me? Anybody tried this transceivers? What is the best distance which You can achieve?Sincerelly,Szabolcs Vass#spirit1-sp1ml #distance #range

Posted on October 04, 2017 at 14:34Hi,I have recently just started working on Wi-Fi code on the SPWF01SA module using the STM32F1 Nucleo Development Board.I was able to get the various configuration values from the Wi-Fi module using the functions below. And I displayed these values in HyperTerminal as can be seen below:Is it possible to change the IP address of the module from the default value (192.168.0.58) to another IP address? If it is possible, can someone explain to me how it is done?Thank You,Ernest#wifi-module #wifi-usart #stm32f1-nucleo #idw001v1 #spwf01sa1 #wifi-spwf01sa

Posted on September 28, 2017 at 09:49Hello. I have got a few questions about BLUENRG-MSCSP. Could you help me? 1. What par of an inductor you recommend ( Power management strategy using step-down DC-DC converter )? What par of a capacitor you recommend for filter of tep-down DC-DC converter for better stability? I will benefit in energy consumption by step-down DC-DC converter in practice? 2 I base my design on the board STEVAL-STLCS02V1. On this PCB there are many different par of a capacitorts. I want to replace 100nF ->150nF, 1uF-> 2,2uF for part optimisation. Doesn't action influence for stability or other things? 3 On the board STEVAL-STLCS02V1 the circuit 'TEST1' goes to the microcontroller STM32F476. What is a signal TEST1? Can I pull-down to GND TEST1 ? 4 BLUENRG-MSCSP has got the Low speed ring oscillator (LSROSC) . If I don't use
Posted on September 27, 2017 at 15:57In my program i'm doing FOTA via BLE.I developed my code with Nucleo-l476RG EVB and Nucleo-IDB05A1, based on the FP-SNS-FLIGHT1 program. Now I'm working with my custom PCB using STM32L476JEY as MCU and BlueNRG-MS and have problem with system reset.I can see all the packets transferred successfully with correct CRC. I write the firmware to address 0x08040008 and add the magic number to 0x08040000. Then, when resetting with HAL_NVIC_SystemReset() function the old program is restarted. The __ICFEDIT_intvec_start__ address was: 0x08000000, so I supposed that my program takes the bootloader place and Ichanged it to 0x08004000, also the VECT_TAB_OFFSET to 0x4000.With these changes the reset doesn't work in any case, even before doing OTA via BLE. I can just flash my program from IAR.I'll be happy with any ideas ,thanks#fota #stm32l476 #bluenrg #system-reset

Posted on September 18, 2017 at 11:27Hi,I am very new to STM32 and SPI interface. For my project I need to connect with Android apps using bluetooth from STM32. I have a STM32L476RG and X-NUCLEO-IDB05A1. I search and found a SensorDemo project. Where they used SPI1 for the BNRG_SPI_Init() function./***************************/// SPI Instance&sharpdefine BNRG_SPI_INSTANCE SPI1&sharpdefine BNRG_SPI_CLK_ENABLE() __SPI1_CLK_ENABLE()/****************************/For my real project board, I have to connect it with SPI3 interface. I am using cubeMX for the starup generation. But I dont know how the sensorDemo project configured for SPI1.Can anyone please inform me how to convert quick and efficiently for bluetooth connection from SPI1 to SPI3.Or inshort can anyone suggest me what changes I need to SPI1 with SPI3 for the SensorDemo project? Thanks in advance.
Posted on September 19, 2017 at 05:44Hey!I am currently having fun with Sensortile.I'd like to know is there any current consumption profile?(STLCR01V1 already put it into the little box)I only know that while is connected through the app, battery profile tells that it's discharding with about 15mA.If I turned off the usb debug function, it draws about 10mA.I would like to know:1 Can I further reduce the current consumption with all sensors on?2 In advertising, how much current it take? Can I further reduce it? If so, how? Where is the code that I can change the cycle of advertising? Thanks for reading this post!Zt.#stm32l476 #mems #sensortile #bluenrg
Posted on September 17, 2017 at 16:17Hello, Is there a current and complete documentation on how to use and program the SensorTile, preferable without needing to purchase a Nucleo board? If there is one, where can I find it? Also, if it is absolutely necessary to have a Nucleo board, which one would be the right one to purchase? I noticed that all manuals and 'getting-started' guides point to buying a ST Nucleo board (which is not included in the SensorTile development kit STEVAL-STLKT01V1) in order to do any programming. This is a little upsetting since I purchased this 'complete' development kit to develop, not to purchase more material. Even so, I am having trouble finding up-to-date or relevant information on how to program and use this device. All manuals I've found so far have only talked about the cool features that this device has, and how to connect the SensorTile to a Nucleo board to program it. These manuals never showed API or documentatio
