The low power wakeup radio (LPAWUR) feature is not enabled by default on NUCLEO-WL33CCx boards. It has been designed for the reception of a specific frame to trigger the wake up of a system.
To enable and use the LPAWUR feature on the NUCLEO-WL33CCx boards and increase the LPAWUR range, hardware modifications are required: specifically, connect the C3 capacitance according to the desired frequency range, as detailed in the following table "LPAWUR path BOM given frequency bands" from UM3418:
As explained in UM3418:
"The LPAWUR can work on three different frequency bands. By default, this feature is not connected to the antenna path. C3 is OFF."
For more information, refer to UM3418, section "7.8.1 RX_LPAWUR," which explains how to connect the LPAWUR path to the STM32WL33CC boards.
Note:
STMicroelectronics provides software source code examples to handle the LPAWUR feature through STM32CubeWL3 MCU package, which supports the STM32WL3x product line microcontrollers.
The source code application examples are available in the following paths of the STM32CubeWL3 package:
