STM32F429-discovery TFT Display VSYNC signal conflict with DAC#1

It appears as though the TFT Displays VSYNC signal (pa4) is in use in RGB-mode, and as a result, I can't set it to function as AFIO DAC&sharp1 output (pa4), as it seems to cause the display to turn all white. DAC&sharp2 output (pa5) works ok, but I was hoping to get a stereo output using both DAC pins. Can the TFT be set to run in MCU-mode, or any other mode that does not require a VSYNC signal?
