Observe what status is returned by the routines, and that the memory is erased before you attempt to write, or rewrite. If it gives you errors review why that might be happening.
If you still have an issue you can't solve, please start a new thread, with a complete enough code example to review, with variables, defines, and description of the failure and fault codes.
