Hi John,

There is a driver provided by ST, formerly part of um0424, which was required to access this functionality. You may be able to find it in the STR7/9 download but no promises. BRs Peter

Moments ago we ran VCPDriver_V1.1_Setup.exe on two, new PCs with WinXP SP3. Just as John earlier reported - we did ''not'' see the virtual com port created - on either PC - after exactly following the procedure of UM0424, (1346

In that instance, my expectations were based on very good experiences with Freescale's technical support, and I would urge ST to implement something similar. As regards the forums, ST-One has proven himself to be extremely helpful and responsive, and I echo the call of others to give him more resources.
