STWIN.box Wi-Fi Module FW Upgrade - EMW3080

Hello 

I tried to upgrade the STWIN.box Wi-Fi Module with the instructions provided in the  STM32CubeFunctionPack_DATALOG2_V3.1.0. 

i tried dragging the HEX file to tera term with the following settings attached in the images below. i was not able to successfully upgrade the wifi module.
i am using the stlink-v3minie with the board
i really appreciate the help of community members

Simone, please see this thread https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-boards-and-hardware/procedure-to-update-mb1400-wi-fi-module-firmware-with-stm32h7s78/td-p/846939 where user trapped into small 64KB Flash and not able to load firmware to update its version. There are couple ways to do this via macronix flash, fota, etc. I recommended user to open support ticket because IMHO this MXCHIP stuff is legacy and does not have proper attention and support from STM and all firmware update tools are awkward and legacy

Excuse me, but I'm a bit confused. The goal of the script we're providing inside FP-SNS-DATALOG2 is to be used for STEVAL-STWINBX1 only. We tested and can guarantee compatibility with STWINBX1 only and with the firmware we’re publicly exposing.

I agree with you that the latest MXCHIP firmware we're providing isn’t so recent. I can push your request internally.

As responsible for the FP-SNS-DATALOG2 package, I can update the function pack as soon as an upgraded MXCHIP firmware is validated internally by ST.

I checked internally with the team responsible for the X-WIFI-EMW3080B package. Version v1.1.0 is still up to date, even if 2 years old. The maintainer would address firmware blocking point only.

Furthermore, I can't find a newer Wi-Fi module firmware from MXCHIP.

In conclusion, the Wi-Fi procedure for STEVAL-STWINBX1 with FP-SNS-DATALOG2 is still valid and up to date.

If instead you’re addressing some specific blocking point on the Wi-Fi upgrade procedure for other STEVAL or DISCOVERY boards, I suggest you open a new and separate thread.
