ST MC Workbench won't connect

Hello guys,

I am trying to control a PMSM motor with STM32F103RB board using Motor Control Workbench. But every time I try to connect to Motor Control I get this error: ''

Connection failed! No response, check the communication cable, the power on the board or the baudrate (set to 115200 bps)''

I followed instructions written in STM32 PMSM FOC Firmware Library v3.3 manual.

I have done these steps:

1) Installed ST MC Workbench, STM32 PMSM FOC Firmware Library v3.3 - WEB distribution and IAR Embedded Workbench

2) Configured my specifications in MC Workbench

3) Put them in System & Drive Params folder

4) Compiled User Project in IAR, selecting batch build STM3210B-EVAL

5) Finally I use Flash Loader to download created .hex file to board

But after that, as I try to make connection with Motor Control, I get the error. I tried different baudrates.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you

Ciao Andrej

It seems that you follow the rigth steps.

Do you are able to use the LCD and Joystick demo to intercat with the MC Firmware (run the motor, change speed)? (This to check if the firmware is still live)

Had you used a null modem cable to connect with the eval board? (I mean that usually a USB to RS232 serial converter requires an extra Null modem female-female cable to connect with the board. A direct cable is not good).

Ciao
