Posted on May 26, 2014 at 20:20The VL6180X allows any user to measure the distance of any object within a 0 to 100mm range from the sensor regardless of the reflectivity of the material. Along with the distance measured, the VL6180X gathers information on the amount signal and noise entering into the sensor which allows the VL6180X to measure the distances of these objects in any lighting environment.
The VL6180X also allows a user to measure the amount of ambient light with the built in ambient light sensor. With a simple math equation the equivalent lux value can be obtained from the measurement stored in the VL6180X.
