Hey.. there I hope all are doing well I have just upgraded my Ubuntu desktop version from 18.0 to 20.04Right now, I'm playing with STM32MP1 and that's how to flash the new image i have downloaded the STM32Cube programmer Linux version 2.8.0After successfully downloading when i try to run the programmer from the search bar then it's unable to run When i try to run from the command line then, at the same time I'm getting following JRE errors Can any one leads me the right solution? All suggestions and comments welcome :)Many Thanks ./STM32CubeProgrammerLauncher /home/mahendra/STMicroelectronics/STM32Cube/STM32CubeProgrammer/bin chdir /home/mahendra/STMicroelectronics/STM32Cube/STM32CubeProgrammer/bin/. current dir /home/mahendra/STMicroelectronics/STM32Cube/STM32CubeProgrammer/bin (java:10912): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 16:49:55.369: gdk_x11_display_set_window_scale: assertion 'GDK_IS_X11_DISPLAY (display)' failed # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # SIGS
Hi When generating for CubeIDE firmware executes fine in both production and engineering mode. But for IAR/EWARM only engineering mode works. And, yes, I am aware of production mode not supported out of the box. Manual copy to target and start required. Target STM32MP1-DK2 STMCubeMX 6.3.0 STMCubeIDE 1.7.0 EWARM 9.10.1 /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ while (1) { static int loopCounter; loopCounter++; HAL_GPIO_WritePin(LED_Y_GPIO_Port, LED_Y_Pin, GPIO_PIN_SET); if( loopCounter < 10 ) { for(volatile int i = 0; i < 5000000; i++); } else { HAL_Delay(500); } HAL_GPIO_WritePin(LED_Y_GPIO_Port, LED_Y_Pin, GPIO_PIN_RESET); if( loopCounter < 10 ) { for(volatile int i = 0; i < 5000000; i++); } else { HAL_Delay(500); } /* USER CODE END WHILE */ /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ } /* USER CODE END 3 */ Reproduction method Generate STMCubeIDE and EWARM projects by changing in MX Project Manager from attached HAL_Tick_TIM6.ioc. I'm creating a project using STM32CubeIDE for the STM32MP1. I've followed the steps outlined in AN5630. I notice in the root project, under CA7\DeviceTree, that the directories for kernel, tf-a and u-boot are created. I'm planning on creating either a bare metal project or an RTOS based project, not a Linux based project. What caused the generation of these directories and how do I get rid of them, assuming I need to? ThanksLee Thalblum
- Create the directory for the project (C:\Project)- Create a New STM32 project- Select the processor and package- Setup STM32 project > Enter project name, for location enter project directory, select language and project type STM32Cube- Code Generator options: Copy only necessary library filesWhen I start the project generation I get a popup message "C:\: Access is denied".Using the "Project > Generate Code" option gives me the same message. If I follow the same procedure and use the default workspace directory the project gets created successfully. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem would be appreciated.ThanksLee
Hi,We are using stm32mp157a-dk1 target.I have an issue i.e,when i use uboot source code dts file in u boot source code its works fine.when i replace original dts with stm32 cubemx generated dts it didn't works. Can i use cube mx generated dts in place of original dts in u boot. Thanks in advance
I am trying to Debug m4 in production mode. M4 is not halted.I am getting an error "Failed to insert breakpoint".I can successfully debug in Engineering mode. but, I need to Debug in Production mode. Can you explain how to solve this issue?
I've build all part (linux, tf-a, u-boot) in stm32cubeide, acording to my device tree configured in cube.I would like to ask if there is short way to create sd-card image from cube gui? If not, could any one share way how to do that from build to ready image.I found this tutorial https://wiki.stmicroelectronics.cn/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_populate_the_SD_card_with_dd_commandbut i can't find the script.i'm using vitrual machine with ubuntu 20.04Sory if question will be trival. I'm new in linux compilation. Usualy i used already prepared.
Hey , In the OTG block diagram (attached below ) pin PA11 and PA12 can be configured as OTG_FS but using CubeMx we can't set the functionality of these pins.
i'm tyring to compile a single C++ file using by right clicking on the file and selecting the 'Build Selected File(s)' option from the pop up menu. when i sue this option i get the following error:7:32:19 **** Building Selected Files of configuration Debug for project NearEGSoftware ****Info: Internal Builder is used for build$(CXX) ../DeviceAbstractionLayer/ASICLibraries/cqpi30lib/src/CQPI30DataUpload.cpp -std=gnu++14 -g3 -c -Og -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -fno-threadsafe-statics -fno-use-cxa-atexit -Wall -fstack-usage -o DeviceAbstractionLayer/ASICLibraries/cqpi30lib/src/CQPI30DataUpload.o Cannot run program "$(CXX)": Unknown reasonError: Program "$(CXX)" not found in PATHPATH=[/opt/st/stm32cubeide_1.6.0/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mpu.linux.toolchain_2.0.0.202105061257/tools/bin:/opt/st/stm32cubeide_1.6.0/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.make.linux64_2.0.0.202105311346/tools/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/snap/bin]where do i
hi,i'm trying to compile a program in STM32CubeIDE that i wrote that cotnains calls located in libgpiod. but i'm getting linker errors as shown below. do i need to create the library myself or do i need to set a path in the CubeIDE's environment?i selected the option to install STOpenLinux to be embedded inside of CubeIDE.Invoking: MPU G++ Linkerarm-ostl-linux-gnueabi-g++ -mthumb -mfpu=neon-vfpv4 -mfloat-abi=hard -mcpu=cortex-a7 --sysroot=/home/vbuonassisi@ostendo.local/.eclipse/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.rcp.product_1.6.0_1935172119_linux_gtk_x86_64/plugins/com.st.openstlinux.sdk.openstlinux_5.4_dunfell_mp1_20_11_12_5.4.0.202011171729/tools/sysroots/cortexa7t2hf-neon-vfpv4-ostl-linux-gnueabi -o "NearEGSoftware" ./gpio_test.o ./main.o -Wl,-Map="NearEGSoftware.map" -Wl,--gc-sections/home/vbuonassisi@ostendo.local/.eclipse/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.rcp.product_1.6.0_1935172119_linux_gtk_x86_64/plugins/com.st.openstlinux.sdk.openstlinux_5.4_dunfell_mp1_20_11_12_5.4
My problem is, that on the one hand, the SPI3 configuration is lost after I close CubeMX. The assignment is lost to the M4 core (changed from A7 to M4 and after reopening, its again at A7. The changes have been saved and tried on different machines). If the assignment of the DMA streams for the peripherals has been done, after reopening CubeMx and *ioc file, the DMA streams differ or are completely lost. So, what I am doing wrong here? Is there maybe another problem with the GPIO or whatever, which can lead to this unexpected behaviour? Or is this a known issue? Thank you for the help. Best regards, Jan-Otto

Hi there! I just purchased an STM32MP157D-DK1 discovery board, and noticed that in STM32CubeIDE there are no definition files for this model, only a subset of the other MP1 discovery boards (but curiously not all of them). Is this product unsupported by ST or can I obtain board definition files from elsewhere? Thanks.
i followed the setup procedure described in the youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEzfqKt3exE.i checked the path that is displayed in the error message and it does exist. the file the debug session is trying to write to is the name of the executable and it does exist.any help in understanding what this error means would be appreciated.thanks, vince
Hello, i´d like to change the clock of the M4 and some of the corresponding periphals. To do that i changed the clocks in CubeMx (Stm32CubeIde integrated version). I tried to create and deploy the .dtb as showed in https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_manage_OpenSTLinux_projects_in_STM32CubeIDE but this didn´t change my clock speed at all. So i think i this .dtb doesn´t change the clocks. Can i change the clock tree with the STM32CubeIDE and CubeMx? If yes is there a manual for it ? Thank you in advance.
1. Select STM32MP151A2. Select an GPIOx and set to GIPIO_EXTx3.Select again GPIO under Pinout View, right click -> Pin Reserved -> Cortex-M44. Goto NVIC: EXTI lineX interrupt Enable Check.5. Select any of the peripheral devices, enable Cortex-A7 or Cortex-M4, and disable it.6. Goto NVIC: The enabled EXTI lineX is automatically changed to disable. And Pin Reserved for the corresponding pin is automatically changed from Cortex-M4 to Free.It is very inconvenient that the set EXTI is all initialized due to the above phenomenon. Is the way I proceeded wrong? Or maybe it's a STM32CubeIDE(1.6.0) bug. Please check.
Hi ST Teams! We've made a custom board with sdcard and mmc, all these device can be viewed from uboot/linux userspace. We are mainly using starter kit (v1.2) with modified tfa/uboot.For mmc programming, using Cube Programmer CLI(v2.5) we have only uart option available.I've got few questions about emmc:**What is the maximum baudrate we can have on UART boot in order to program emmc (921600)? We manage to begin to program at 115200 but it takes far too long time.At higher speed we have an error message stating:File download completeTime elapsed during download operation: 00:00:04.221RUNNING Program ... PartID: :0x01 Start operation done successfully at partition 0x01GETPHASE command not acknowledged!Reemission of GetPhase commandGETPHASE command not acknowledged!Reemission of GetPhase commandGETPHASE command not acknowledged! We tried to add "-tm 1000" option in command line but doesn't help.Any hints?**Does we have to erase it (emmc) before any update?i

Hi, According to this article, https://community.st.com/s/article/FAQ-STM32MP1-Bring-up-procedure , the devicetree files generated by STM32CubeMX are incomplete. We have created a CubeMX project for our stm32mp151c and made some modifications and generated device tree files. However, these device tree files can not be used to compile the tf-a and u-boot components with the developer package. Therefore, we have tried to follow the Lab-BringUpFromPartNumber (from the article above). However, the lab compares the bring up device trees with the mx DK2 board using the stm32mp157c. In our case, there is no board with the stm32mp151c, which means that we can't generate default device trees to compare and merge the missing nodes to our device trees. Is it possible to compare and merge our device trees (that are created for stm32mp151c) with the default device trees for the DK2 board with stm32mp157c exactly as Lab-BringUpFromPartNumber describes? If not, how should we know exactly what to add
Pkg-Config is not supported by STM-IDE ,and cannot be installed. This tool really speeds up the library selection process. Perhaps somebody know any alternatives that STM-IDE does support?URL:https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/pkg-config-support-eclipse-cdtArnas
System windows STM32MP157F-DK2 board. The binary I can load and the device connects but it throws the above error. I can find nowhere to set any path in the software.
Hi,How can I connect to STM32MPU via SSH from inside STM32CUBEIDE.?? Is there a way we can do that? This really helps in live debug of things.Alternatively is there a way I can live debug an application running on A7?
Hi All,i am using stm32mp1 cpu,, recently i m facing floating rx issue on debug uart, with physical debug cable , i could default state of RX lines were pull up, and when i remove the cable, the RX lines is floating and its voltage fluctuates between 0.9-1.4 Volts, when i power up unit, with out cable, the u-boot code waiting for receive events, i see the u-boot cancel the normal boot because (USART_ISR) lot of error were seen like noise, eob, cmf, Fe, bits , so most of error bit were set along with RDR data to read flag,i am using FIFO enabled, with 16 byte rx buffer, tried with disabled fifo, still same problemThere is pull up is required, but can this be fixable in software u boot and kernel ? some thing like soft reset/ or any clear pending interrupts ?Any suggestion would be helpfull
