Hello, I'm doing an example of heterogeneous communication, refer to Wiki:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_exchange_large_data_buffers_with_the_coprocessor_-_example.but I have encountered difficulties. When I generate the KO file and load it.However, the /dev/rpmsg-sdb device node was not generated, and you are required to help.
The program can not be uploaded under the dunfell distribution via CUBEIDE 1.3.1 to the target system. Using the thud distribution, target uploads works. Are there any hidden upload scripts in the CUBEIDE - how to debug the debug upload?Which yocto packages are necessary to cooperate with the CUBEIDE?
Hi allI want to implement dual display using STM32MP157C chip and OpenSTLinux system. Is it possible to implement dual display using MIPI DSI / LTDC / HDMI-CEC?If you know the answer above, please reply.RegardsMachilus
STM32MP157A is this processor eligible in Automotive products does the product have any certification of SIL 3 and TÜV certifications . Can the STM32MP157A be used for SIL3 level certification product .
Hello,I'm new to the linux stuff, so i folowed the tutorial : create hello world application to the key.At the end of:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-DK2/Develop_on_Arm%C2%AE_Cortex%C2%AE-A7/Create_a_simple_hello-world_applicationI try to run the program on the board but i get the 'error: Cannot execute binary file: exec format error' . I don't know if i forget something or something is missing. When i tried to make the file it was missing gtk3 so i install that myself but i couldn't find that anywhere in the tutorial.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
I am testing Ethernet on the STM32MP1 (on both the EV1 and DK2 eval boards) and seeing slow link up times when the board is connected to a Gigabit Ethernet switch. Here's an excerpt from the dmesg traces showing link up times of 6-7 seconds:[ 8.931934] Generic PHY stmmac-0:00: attached PHY driver [Generic PHY] (mii_bus:phy_addr=stmmac-0:00, irq=POLL) [ 8.952777] dwmac4: Master AXI performs any burst length [ 8.956664] stm32-dwmac 5800a000.ethernet eth0: No Safety Features support found [ 8.964160] stm32-dwmac 5800a000.ethernet eth0: IEEE 1588-2008 Advanced Timestamp supported [ 8.972895] stm32-dwmac 5800a000.ethernet eth0: registered PTP clock [ 14.169871] stm32-dwmac 5800a000.ethernet eth0: Link is Up - 1Gbps/Full - flow control rx/txSince my application does not really need Gigabit Ethernet, I tried limiting the speed to 100 Mbps in the device tree, as described here: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Ethernet_device_tree_configurationHowever the results are still similar; typical li
Can I use ST-LINK/V2 for debug and program STM32MP1 chip series?
Hi, all.I use STM32MP151CAA3.I want to transmit USART data by DMA with HAL Driver.I’m trying to use HAL_USART_Transmit_DMA () function to transmit data.In the case of STM32F437ZI(using STM32F4xx HAL Driver), when calling HAL_USART_Transmit_DMA(), USART_DMATransmitCplt() were called after USART transmission completed, and husart->State changed to HAL_USART_STATE_READY (stm32f4xx_hal_usart.c Line 1331).However, in the case of STM32MP151(using STM32mp1xx HAL Driver), when to called HAL_USART_Transmit_DMA(), USART_DMATransmitCplt() were also called after transmission completed, but husart->State doesn't changed to HAL_USART_STATE_READY.So, next time I try to call HAL_USART_Transmit_DMA(), I cannot transmit data because if statement (if (husart->State == HAL_USART_STATE_READY)) excludes to transmit USART data. (stm32mp1xx_hal_usart.c Line 1375).Has the usage of the USART HAL driver changed compared to STM32F4xx HAL Driver?Do I need to change the variable husart->State myself any
Apparently it is not possible to set a custom baud rates for UARTs on the STM32MP1.ioctl TIOCSSERIAL fails. With a USB UART dongle that supports custom baud rates this works. Is there a something that can be changed in the device tree or config to enable custom baud rate support on the STM32MP1 U(S)ARTS ? The base rate seems 4MHz so that should be sufficient for several custom baud rates. Looked at stm32-usart.c but did not find supporting code. Custom baud rate is crucial as the serial device connected must be used with a non standard baud rate. Edit: after looking at stm32-uart.c it seems it is not supporting ioctl. Adding this support looks to be pretty straightforward by adding the ioctl call and the 2 or 3 needed functions to set and get the user info together with the magic baudrate hack. The driver seems to use uart structure instead of the tty structures so I did not get far changing the driver.. A developer familiar with the driver probably could do this in a day. If STM
Hello,I am currently initializing my STM32MP157CAC3 (TFBGA361) with CubeMX.The processor's datasheet lists USB_OTG_FS functionality as additional functions on PA11 / PA12 but there is no such selection inside CubeMX. In general, there is no USB_OTG_FS functionality listed (only USB_OTG_HS, which I can't use because the pins are already used by USB_HS2).Is it possible to configure this peripheral inside CubeMX?MPU: STM32MP157CAC3CubeMX Version: 5.6.0.202002181639MPU Firmware Package: V1.2.0
I follow the instruction of Building the OpenSTLinux distribution to build the distribution image, /etc/version in the image is 20180309123456. Furthermore, the years of most of the directories and files of root filesystem are 2008. If I am correct, it should be the date/time when I built the image. Why do I ask this? When I tried the built image with the SD card and saw the year of directories and files are 2008, I wondered whether I flashed correct image to the SD card.
Hi,we were facing trouble booting the Ecosystem 2.0 with the new U-Boot (v2020.01-stm32mp-r1). We are using buildroot as the tool to build our distribution. With the Ecosystem 1.2 we could build everything perfectly and the booting was fine too. We used your Github to get the sources for the trusted boot chain (TF-A, OP-TEE, U-Boot, Kernel).Recently we migrated to the new Ecosystem 2.0. When using the sources from your github directly we encountered two problems:The Kernel wasn't able to load. The problem was a wrong .config file. We used your release from the wiki (the archive file with the patches) to reconstruct the .config file from that. With this new .config file it worked, the kernel got loaded. Just want to point out, that using the 'default' .config file from your github didn't work for us in case it is meant to work straight away. The other problem we were facing is that the U-Boot did write the environment variables to the MMC (we have a DK2 board so in that case to the SD ca
Hardware: STM32MP157C-DK2, VL6180 breakout from SparkfunSoftware: CubeMX IDE (1.3.0), buildroot (following the guide from Bootlin here)I'm trying to use the M4 core to communicate with an I2C sensor. I successfully talked with the sensor on the Linux side so I'm confident the wiring and hardware is good.I edited the DTS to enable the m4_i2c5 per the example provided by ST. &m4_i2c5 { pinctrl-names = "rproc_default"; pinctrl-0 = <&i2c5_pins_a>; status = "okay"; };I've also tried many variations of the following, with and without pinctrl statements:&i2c5 { status = "disabled"; }; &m4_i2c5 { status = "okay"; };From CubeMX IDE:Main initialization and while(1):/* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_I2C5_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ gpio_init_structure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_7 ; gpio_init_structure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP; gpio_init_structure.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP; gpio_init_structure.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_VERY_HIGH; HAL_GPIO_Ini
I'm running the STM32MP157A-DK Discovery board through HyperLynx and I'm getting some pretty horrible ringing on the address lines, along with timing violations when I use the DDRx Batch Simulation, and I'd like to verify my setup is good.First, I exported the board from Altium using the HyperLynx exporter, and then opened it up in HyperLynx, added my IBIS models, set my pins to MSD_D3RP3L_48, set all the address / command termination resistors to 56 ohms as indicated in the schematic, and ran an eye diagram, as seen at the memory chip die:There's substantial ringing on the bus, which appears to be caused by the long stubs that run off to termination resistors. To check that theory out, let's focus on the yellow DDR_A7 signal (one of the shortest stubs on the PCB), and DDR_A12 in blue (one of the longest):Clearly, the stubs off to the VTT resistors appear to be causing the problem, as the longer-stub signal is much worse. I reran the simulation with very very large values of resistors,
Hi,we are currently evaluate the STM32MP for a project and we want to ensure that we can handle all errataissues that concern our usage scenario. In Errata are the points: 2.6.1 to 2.6.4 that discribe DMAMUX issues. At this point my question is:Does Linuxdrivers use the DMAMUX module in STM32MP1 ?We dont find any codesnipets where the kernel is manipulating registers with this module.Best regards,Niklas
Hello guys.I am proceeding in the manner provided on the WIKI page(https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Distribution_Package).However, the following problems still occur in Step 6.[error codes]-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WARNING: iso-codes-4.4-r0 do_fetch: Failed to fetch URL git://salsa.debian.org/iso-codes-team/iso-codes.git;protocol=http, attempting MIRRORS if availableERROR: iso-codes-4.4-r0 do_fetch: Fetcher failure: Unable to find revision 38edb926592954b87eb527124da0ec68d2a748f3 in branch master even from upstreamERROR: iso-codes-4.4-r0 do_fetch: Fetcher failure for URL: 'git://salsa.debian.org/iso-codes-team/iso-codes.git;protocol=http'. I am trying to use the GPU with an application where using X display is a prerequisite. I have successfully used GPU previously with Qt5 and simple kms applications like kmscube, but cannot get it working with X. Mesa is always used as the renderer with 0% load on GPU. My question is that is this at all supported with the binaries packed in the gcnano repo? https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/gcnano-binariesThe Yocto recipes point out the following (meta-st-stm32mp/conf/machine/include/gpu_vivante.inc) :GPU_USERLAND_LIBRARIES_X11 ?= "mesa"My doubt arises because of the following:1) In mesa there is no *_dri.so binary available for the particular GPU to support h/w acceleration.2) If I look for suitable hardware drivers *_drv.so files in xorg, there is no support for Vivante. I could not find these anywhere in the ST resources as well.I have tried using "etnaviv" too, but not much luck there. The last point is that ST wiki doesn't have much documentation on the GPU.htt
I made a simple widget example with label but the font size in STM32MP157C-DK2 is biggest than Ubuntu PC. How can I fix this?Thank you for any help.
We have a STM32MP1 system with no flash media. How do I push a TF-A/uboot image to DRAM and boot/run from DRAM withno MMC/flash media ?
Hi, I want to make a backup of the SD-card with the linux image. I tried it with Win32 Disk Imager (like on the raspberryPi: https://thepihut.com/blogs/raspberry-pi-tutorials/17789160-backing-up-and-restoring-your-raspberry-pis-sd-card). Windows detects the SD-card, but it is not accessible in the file manager. There is no drive letter assigned :(How can I save the image?thanks in advanceregards, Lukas
Echo demo application works fine, but when launching ADC example it fails after transferring the elf.Windows host. DK2 board./Peter
Now that I managed to create an 'SPP profile', I have another question. We plan to use a number of those kits. But, I noticed all of them have the same BDA address. Obviously we need to change them. The command 'hciconfig hci0 lerandaddr ..' does not seem to do the trick. Is there any other way of doing it, either permanently or temporarily during the life of the program?
Hello, I am developing CAN, but during the test process, I found that part of frames would be lost when setting the classic CAN of ST to be received. The specific test is as follows:1)Connect NXP's 6ULL to my own board(STM32mp157AAC) and set the baud rate of the two boards to 50K.2)Send 1 byte of data from 6ull every 10ms(program set) :./can_send -d can0-i 1 66,Then set my development board to receive:candump -L can0 -d, the board receives data normally, as follows:2)Send 1 byte of data from 6ull every 1ms(program set),./can_send -d can0-I 1 66,Then set my development board to receive:candump -L can0 -d,it will dropped CAN frames, can you give me some advice? Thanks
