Any plans to upstream support for STM32H757? Currently kernel tree seems to have stm32h743.
Dear All,We are designing a custom board based on STM32MP1. In some ST documents we can read "if no external battery is used, it is mandatory to connect this pin [VBAT] to VDD." If I check the developpement board schematic VBAT is simply connected to a connector. Also according to the STM32MP157 datasheet (figure 35) the VBAT input is connected to a switch who connect either VBAT or VDD to VSW domain. So the connection to VDD seems to be managed internally. We are using a removable primary battery as power source for VBAT. Do we have to provide a mechanisme to connect VBAT to VDD if the battery is removed ?Many thanks in advance for any clarification
Hi,I'm having an issue while trying to debug the OpenAMP_TTY_ECHO_CM4 example described in gettin' started guide for stm32mp157a-DK1 (here link) using Cude IDE 1.4.2 on windows 10 machine. I configure the debug session as describe in the guide section 7, but when I started it, I got the following messages:Open On-Chip Debugger 0.10.0+dev-g30d1303 (2020-06-18-09:13)Licensed under GNU GPL v2For bug reports, read http://openocd.org/doc/doxygen/bugs.htmlsrst_only srst_pulls_trst srst_gates_jtag srst_open_drain connect_deassert_srstInfo : Listening on port 6666 for tcl connectionsInfo : Listening on port 4444 for telnet connectionsInfo : STLINK V2J37M26 (API v2) VID:PID 0483:3752Info : Target voltage: 3.220093Info : Unable to match requested speed 8000 kHz, using 4000 kHzInfo : Unable to match requested speed 8000 kHz, using 4000 kHzInfo : clock speed 4000 kHzInfo : stlink_dap_op_connect(connect)Info : SWD DPIDR 0x6ba02477Info : stlink_dap_op_connect(connect)Info : SWD DPID

Hi guys,I'm designing a custom board with STM32MP157C using the MB1263 board as reference. The MB1263 reference design shows the VDD_OTP pin tied to VDD, which is 3V3 for that particular board. My custom board uses VDD = 1V8 instead of 3V3. Should I tie the VDD_OTP to 3V3 or 1V8? I could not find any reference on VDD_OTP recommended voltage.Thank you in advance.

Hi All, Please , I`m pretty new here but so far using standard layer it works correctly hover when trying to use the QT / Distro openstlinux-eglfs layers meta-st I`m getting error related to make-mod-scripts.ERROR: Task (/local/STM32MP15-Ecosystem-v2.0.0/Developer-Package/stm32mp1-openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24/layers/openembedded-core/meta/recipes-kernel/make-mod-scripts/make-mod-scripts_1.0.bb:do_configure) failed with exit code '1'Can any good soul help-me on that ? Anything I can do here ?Thank You so Much !
Good afternoon. I tried to check your example OpanAMP_TTY_echo together with the ssh-t ttyRPMSG0 command after trying to execute the ssh-t ttyRPMSG0 command, the terminal responds Error resolving ttyRPMSG0 port 22 Temporary failure in name resolution Why? What did I do wrong? Sincerely, Alexander
I've assigned the UART8 device in the devicetree of the linux kernel (OpenSTLinux):&pinctrl { // ... uart8_pins: uart8-0 { pins1 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('E', 0, AF8)>; /* UART8_RX */ bias-disable; }; pins2 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('E', 1, AF8)>; /* UART8_TX */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <0>; }; }; uart8_sleep_pins: uart8-sleep-0 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('E', 0, ANALOG)>, /* UART8_RX */ <STM32_PINMUX('E', 1, ANALOG)>; /* UART8_TX */ }; }; // ... } // ... &uart8 { pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; pinctrl-0 = <&uart8_pins>; pinctrl-1 = <&uart8_sleep_pins>; /delete-property/dmas; /delete-property/dma-names; status = "okay"; };The uart8 (0x40019000) is detected upon boot and the device /dev/STM1 is created:[ 1.196012] stm32-usart 40010000.serial: interrupt mode for rx (no dma) [ 1.196036] stm32-usart 40010000.serial: interrupt mod
We would like to build the TF-A image with a different muxer settingfor i2c4. The usual setting is:i2c4_pins_a: i2c4-0 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 4, AF6)>, /* I2C4_SCL */ <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 5, AF6)>; /* I2C4_SDA */ bias-disable; drive-open-drain; slew-rate = <0>; };};our setup:i2c4_pins_a: i2c4-0 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('H', 11, AF6)>, /* I2C4_SCL */ <STM32_PINMUX('H', 12, AF6)>; /* I2C4_SDA */ bias-disable; drive-open-drain; slew-rate = <0>; };};If we use the changed pin muxing we get no signal output on those pins.My que
Good day, I solved one problem how to connect to stm32mp157a-dk1 over tcp. In the console, you need to write ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.5 ; net data-P ttyRPMSG0 ; net data-p8888 but I do not see data in the buffer ttyRPMSG0. in my program OpenAMP_TTY_echo although the data should be. Hello Everyone I wanted to Install Buildroot on my STM32MP157-DK2 according to this website:https://bootlin.com/blog/building-a-linux-system-for-the-stm32mp1-basic-system/Unfortunately as a beginner with OpenST-Linux and Yocto I got stuck at that step where I couldn't find a way t install gcc like on ubuntu for exemple with the easy command "apt-get install ... " .I flashed and Installed OpenST-Linux on my device according to this st.wiki page:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_Discovery_kits_-_Starter_PackageEverything worked fine. I would also be interested in knowing if Installing Buildroot would cause some STM-Softwares inactive. We are working on an IoT Project and according to what I've read,Buildroot is suitable for it and besides the guy responsible for the Project wanted Buildroot installed and configured on the device.Thank you all and thanks for helping me to get better :)
I am trying to get this board up and running again after being away from it for a while, but I've been running into problems trying to boot from the SD card. I followed the instructions from the wiki here: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP15_Evaluation_boards_-_Starter_PackageI tried flashing in DFU mode:~/Downloads/stm32mp1-openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24/images/stm32mp1$ STM32_Programmer_CLI -tm 20000 -c port=usb1 -w flashlayout_st-image-weston/trusted/FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157a-ev1-trusted.tsv ------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.5.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Warning: Timeout is forced to 20000 ms USB speed : High Speed (480MBit/s) Manuf. I have xfce running very well in the V1.2 Yocto Distribution system on the stm32mp157c disco board. The xfce desktop is very responsive and uses about 100M of memory. The xfce desktop using the latest V2.0.0 Distribution image however is very sluggish and even a simple mouse movement will cause near 100% cpu utilization. Memory usage is around 200M or more with the Xorg server alone using up 16M of memory. It would appear that the new image is not accelerated. I see similar behavior with the x11 image (matchbox desktop) so the issue is not the desktop but with the underlying system. Is there something setup parameter I am missing? I also noted that the weston image seems to run fine!
Hello,PLEASE GIVE SOME HELP.We made some boards based on MP157AAA and it ran good at first.BUT it can not boot anymore after someone turn off and on the power. No information comes from UART4 after turn on power switch.I change the boot-switch to '000' and use "cube programmmer " to update boot.some information comes out form uart4 but "cube programmmer " show error.SO,please tell me how to update boot-part or our hardware has been damaged Permanently. Thanks a lot.SIMON.
Hello,I am new to Linux and just got a new DK2 board. I am attempting to go through the sample on the wiki site.Question 1:I have followed all the steps, but when I go to make the example, I get this error and am not sure how to address it (image makeError): make: arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi-gcc: Command not foundMakefile:13: recipe for target 'gtk_hello_world' failedmake: *** [gtk_hello_world] Error 127Question 2:I then asked a friend for their version of the gtk_hello_world example. It runs on my linux system and was able to download it to the board. But when I run it on the target, I get a very strange error as seen in the image runSample. It's like the file(s) is corrupted...
Hi allI am making a distribution based on "Eco System 2.0.0" and yocto.I have a problem with TF-A when making a distribution package. This is the "stm32mp1_clk_get_gated_id: clk id 85 not found" error message from "tf-a-v2.2-stm32mp-r1.0"I know it's resolved in "tf-a-v2.2-stm32mp-r1.3", but it doesn't apply to yocto yetI would like to know if there is a way to apply the "tf-a-v2.2-stm32mp-r1.3" version to yocto."devtool modify -x tf-a-stm32mp workspace/tf-a"I used the above command to replace existing source with "r1.3" source and created a distribution, but the version of the "tf-a-xxxxx-serialboot.stm32" file is still "r1.0".When I download using "STM32CubeProgrammer" I get the same error.Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks and regardsMachilus
I'm trying to build the standard st-image-weston image following this guide:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Distribution_PackageAfter starting the build with bitbake st-image-westonWhen it reaches around the 68% of the process I get the following error:ERROR: tf-a-stm32mp-2.2.r1-r0 do_compile: oe_runmake failed ERROR: tf-a-stm32mp-2.2.r1-r0 do_compile: Execution of '/home/osboxes/openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1/tmp-glibc/work/stm32mp1-ostl-linux-gnueabi/tf-a-stm32mp/2.2.r1-r0/temp/run.do_compile.21431' failed with exit code 1: make: Entering directory '/home/osboxes/openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24/build-openstlinuxweston-stm32mp1/tmp-glibc/work-shared/stm32mp1/tfa-source' make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Hi all, I am trying to switch to using FIT images and I am looking at the example .its file here:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/u-boot/blob/0e6522cbd1bfccd7281acdf8ab5ebbd37d29eab1/board/st/stm32mp1/fit_kernel_dtb.itsI am trying to understand why 0xC0008000 is used for the load address/entry point. If I understand correctly:By default, U-boot will load the FIT image to address 0xC2000000Then it will copy the kernel image to load address 0xC0008000, and jump to itThe kernel image needs to decompress itself to final address 0xC0008000; however since the entry point of the zImage is 0xC0008000, it will need to relocate itself first to some address which is higher than (0xC0008000 + uncompressed kernel length)And then finally decompress to final location 0xC0008000Wouldn't it be possible to skip the relocation in step 3 by choosing a different address for the load address/entry point in the FIT image? Thanks,Guillermo
I'm following the tutorials on the wiki about developing for the cortex-m4 on the DK2 kit. I'm facing trouble when I need to connect to the serial console, see image:The chars shown on the error message are random. Things already tried:Update ST-link firmwareSet COM port number to COM1 instead of com24Reconnect ST-linkRe-flash clean starter package on DK2 boardReinstall cubeIDE to a fresh 1.4.0Any idea how to resolve this error? I also got access to MDK-ARM, is there a tutorial or wiki page on how to use the M4 with MDK-ARM?
Hi all,The file include/configs/stm32mp1.h in U-boot defines CONFIG_LOADADDR to 0xc2000000. I understand this is the address in RAM where u-boot puts the uImage loaded from persistent storage (SD, NAND, etc).At the same time, according to [2], the kernel uImage is built with LOADADDR set to 0xc2000040. I understand this is the address where the kernel is relocated.Wouldn't this be a problem, as the address of the loaded uImage and the address used for relocation seem to overlap? Also, I think that common convention for ARM is to use <base RAM address> + 0x8000 for relocating the kernel; what is the reason to use 0xc2000040 here?
