I am able to build my STM32MP1 Linux project. Below you can see what is built:I have been trying to follow the guide on the STM32 wiki here: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_manage_OpenSTLinux_project_in_STM32CubeIDE#Linux_projectThe issue is that there is information that is completely missing from the getting started guide is that when I try to do this step: Run As->STM32 Cortex-A Linux Deployment I get the following screen. Right away this is different from the guide and has an error message that says: Connection "" not available at the top.Other guides on the wiki mention that the Target Status should be online. Mine is stuck offline and I don't see any indication on how to set that up either.I currently have 3 USB connections to the STM32MP1 Discovery board. One USB C to a power supply, One USB C, and a micro USB to my PC.
Hello Community Hope, all are doing well I'm dealing with the BSP development with STM32MP157a-dk1 board (as my intent is the design the bsp for my own custom board )For the instance, I'm intended to go from top to bottom of the Flash layout for the SDcard bootThat's why I'm following the bsp development tutorial from here https://community.st.com/s/article/FAQ-STM32MP1-Bring-up-procedureVery first, i need to customize the TF-A for my own board For the simplicity, I'm taking the reference of the DK1 board onlyTo get the very initial UART logs from the TF-A, i have just flashed the SD card with the default TF-A provided with the starter packages using Cube programmer I've just added the stm32mp157a-dk1-trusted.tsv file and gave the path of the binary file for the same On IDE GUI , I've just check mark for the ID (0x01) i.e fsbl1-bootboth boot pin of the board at boot-loader mode And then, successfully downloaded the tf-a with SDcard Now, my problem is i'm unable to get the very initial
1) Where can I get information on these GPIOs ?2) Can I safely reassign, say GPIOz ?https://github.com/MYiR-Dev/myir-st-linux/blob/develop/arch/arm/boot/dts/stm32mp15xxac-pinctrl.dtsi

Hi All,Please I`m working on a project that uses kvssink ( Aws Kinesis Gstreamer Plugin) that project uses log4cplus and openssl what uses Perl. During the cross compilation there are many perl modules missing from the SYSROOT what is the latest DevelopmentPackage . In fact checking the SYSROOT folder the files and modules are really missed. Those files are present on the DistributionPackage I had used to populate my STM32MP157C-DK2. So, finally the question...Why those files are missing if the Perl is installed on the DevelopmentPackage ?How can add / install those files to the DevelopmentPackage Sysroot ?Thank You All !Fabio Boaretti dos Santos
How to debug what's behind a system reset because of watchdog? I tried using dynamic debug and add stm32_iwdg.c file to print debug output, but that didn't give me more info, just some pings. So what can be reason for watchdog reset? We have program on A7 which is doing some tasks when it is waked up via virtual uart from Cortex M4 which is running all time. Waking up is going well until one time when system is gone in low power and then it is rebooted and reset reason is 0x214, which is wdg reset. Virtual uart wakeup is enabled all the time. I also tried to disable watchdog in kernel menuconfig, but obviously then same case happened after some time (20minutes, 30minutes...) but there was no reset, because there was no wdg, so wdg is just doing it's job. Thanks in advance,Nenad
I found no STM boards on OSADL platform (www.osadl.org). Why ?
Hey there, I am new to STM32MP1 and this forum has been a great help. During the last week I am trying to understand the OpenAMP between the M4 and A7. The ttyRPMSG makes things quite straight forward for the M4 part. When going to the linux part, using terminal is also very convenient, but I would like to send some simple messages from inside C. Until now, I have struggled quite a bit with getting the concept. I have not found yet any simple examples for that. If you have something in mind it would be of great help.
Hi,i´m using a stm32mp157-dk2 and want to increase the size of the rootfs partition to 2GB.To create the image follwed the instructions from https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/index.php/STM32MP1_Distribution_Package#Installing_the_OpenSTLinux_distribution .Before running the bitbake command changed as suggested in https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00000EaFPwSAN/rootfs-size-increasing-on-avenger961) /meta-st/meta-st-stm32mp/conf/machine/include/st-nachine-common-stm32mp.incIMAGE_ROOTFS_MAXSIZE ?= "2097152" ROOTFS_PARTITION_SIZE ?= "2097152"2) /meta-st/meta-st-stm32mp/recipes-devtools/sdcard-raw-tools/sdcard-raw-tools/create_sdcard_from_flashlayout.shDEFAULT_RAW_SIZE=4096 DEFAULT_ROOTFS_PARTITION_SIZE=2097152Then while running the bitbake command an error showed up "The initramfs size 181612 (K) exceeds INITRAMFS_MAXSIZE: 131072 (K) You can set INITRAMFS_MAXSIZE a larger value.... ". To avoid this error i increased INITRAMFS_MAXSIZE to 262144 in layers/openembedded-core/meta/conf/bitbak

I create a process A to communicate with M4, another process B every 2 min will be calculate some data cost 230ms. in this inteval, process A cant use OpenAmp to send cmd to M4, until process B complete the calculation.
I try to configure the pins of the MDIOS controler of the STM32MP157C in STM32CubeMX version 6.2.1 . The datasheet states, for pin PA10 -ALT11 the function MDIOS_MDIO. But I cannot select this function for PA10. I also cannot find MDIOS in the devices column. Is MDIOS not supported by CubeMX or did I make something wrong?
Hi,I tired to refer to "https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_integrate_AWS_IoT_Greengrass_on_top_of_openSTLinux_distribution" to do "bitbake st-image-demo-aws"My compiled OS is UBUNTU 20.04.I got below error:"ERROR: ParseError at /home/zouqz/stm32/DistPkg/openstlinux-5.10/layers/meta-virtualization/recipes-extended/libvirt/libvirt-python.inc:1: Could not inherit file classes/python3targetconfig.bbclass"please advise,Thanks,QiZhang
Hello,we want to bring up our own board with stm32mp157c. Processor is connected to a Microchip LAN8720 through RMII.I configured device tree as described here:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Ethernet_device_tree_configuration#RMII_with_Crystal_on_PHY_-28Reference_clock_-28standard_RMII_clock_name-29_is_provided_by_a_Phy_Crystal-29Actual device tree configuration:&ethernet0{ pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; pinctrl-0 = <&eth1_pins_mx>; pinctrl-1 = <&eth1_sleep_pins_mx>; status = "okay"; phy-mode = "rmii"; max-speed = <100>; phy-handle = <&phy0>; mdio0 { #address-cells = <1>; #size-cells = <0>; compatible = "snps,dwmac-mdio"; phy0: ethernet-phy@1 { reg = <1>; }; };So far so good. Controller is booting and during boot up it seems that PHY driver is loaded (Output is very equal to eval board we have). So I think it's ok.~# dmesg | grep ethernet [ 2.902084] stm32-dwmac 5800a000.ethernet: IRQ
Hello, In this wiki https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/IKS01A3_MEMS_expansion_boardBoard $> ls -1 /boot/stm32*dk2*/boot/stm32mp157c-dk2-a7-examples.dtb/boot/stm32mp157c-dk2-iks01ax.dtb/boot/stm32mp157c-dk2-m4-examples.dtb/boot/stm32mp157c-dk2.dtbfrm where does the bold dtb comes from? I cant find it on my STM32MPU.Also where is the dts file for this.I cant find it in arch/arm/boot/dts with name stm32mp157c-dk2-iks01ax.dts??Regards,Pv
For one project we would want to use only de M4 core of the SM32MP157 MPU. We want this because we have no time to learn how to develop the whole application using linux and the whole potential of the MPU, but we would want to have the hardware ready for a future update. We have been trying to use the M4 core in engineering mode, but we have been only able to debug the code. When we unplug the board and replug it the code is not executed. The board that we are using is the STM32MP157A-DK1. Thank you in advance for the help
Hello,I'm trying the NAND boot on our STM32MP157AAB3 custom board but until today I could't make the ROM code load the tf-a image from this memory.I'm yet able to boot from uSD (SDMMC1), eMMC (SDMMC2) and serial NOR (QUADSPI). For uSD I partitioned the device as described in wiki, for eMMC the only way I found to make the ROM code able to load the image is programming it via STM32CubeProgrammer (same procedure of uSD won't work), for NOR I wrote it from u-boot with sf commands. Our board is equipped with Winbond W29N08GVSIAA parallel NAND, connected to the FMC default pins as stated in wiki. The NAND datasheet report all the ONFI parameters requested by the ROM code, none of the OTP is blown. I'm building tf-a, u-boot and linux kernel from the ST repos aligned to STM32MP15-ecosystem-v2.1.0 release, the dts are created starting from STM32CubeMX output with USER CODE added according to wiki. When I boot from another device, in u-boot I'm able to detect, write and read the NAND device. Writ
If I order from st, how many days does it usually take to get to Korea?I placed an order last week... it's only for processing.
Hey.. Hi.. hello..Hope you all are doing wellI've my custom made board, which is quite similar with the STM32MP157 DK2 board Unfortunately, it's unable to bootDTS configuration for the PMIC, Clock and UART seems good I need to starts with the SPL/U-boot I need to know, is there any way to debug the SPL/U-boot via CubeIDE ?I'm intended to do GDB debug via JTAG All suggestions and recommendations welcome Thanks :)
Hi,iam trying to get a full understanding of remoteproc and its resource tabel. In the paper i read i understood it that the resource table is used to give the information about the vrings location to the master and the slave. The master parses the ressource table during starting. When i had a look at my code i saw that the adresse of the vrings are set to -1 (attached picture). So iam confused about it really works. Does the master knows the location from the device tree and give it through the slave? And how does the master knows where it has to load the elf-File from the M4, also from the device tree? In the linker script i saw that the regions of the memorys are define but i guess never really used in the code.
Hi,I have been trying to flash the SD card of the STM32MP157A-DK1 following the instructions of the ST Wiki, although in this wiki the board used is the DK2. However the flashing process stops after a while and shows the errors that i attach in the pictures. The CubeProgrammer version is the 2.6. After some research i saw that another option could be execute the flashing process from the command shell but i have not been able to do it because it never finds the file to be flashed, despite copying it in the STM32CubeProgrammer\bin folder. Thanks in advance.
Hi,I am trying to debug in engineering mode with the STM32MP157A-DK1 through a external ST-Link V3 but i am not being able to get it to work. I attacht the error gotten, as well as pictures of the connection and the debug configuration in Cube IDE. The image thas shows the debug configuration has the OpenOCD option configured, however i have also tried the GDB option but the board is not even found in this case. Thank you in advance.
Hy i wanted to ask how i can set the clockspeed on my Device tree so the USART3 will work with 10MB/s my device tree looks at them moment like this:&usart3 { pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep", "idle"; pinctrl-0 = <&usart3_pins_b>; pinctrl-1 = <&usart3_sleep_pins_b>; pinctrl-2 = <&usart3_idle_pins_b>; uart-has-rtscts; status = "okay";};at the moment is is on automatic. I wanted to try it out with the CubeMX but when i want to set the Paramter settings on the Linux context it always tells me that there is no configuration.
Hi,While following the example at https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_compile_the_device_tree_with_the_Developer_Package#Updating_the_kernel_device_tree, I'm running into problems downloading the SDK.The link provided from instructions below, always downloads the "SOURCES" tar not the "SDK".Developer package:the SDK toolchain, provided within the en.SDK-x86_64-stm32mp1-openstlinux-<YY>-<MM>-<DD>.tar.xz file (download it from st.com)I have tried searching for the SDK at other places on your web-site, all results bring back the en.SOURCES-stm32mp1-openstlinux-5-4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24.tar.xz not the SDKCould someone please verify this issue and point me to where I can get the SDK.Thanks in advance!
