I check STM32MP157F-DK2 schematic. Transmit Channels(ETH_TXD0..ETH_TXD3) isn't have termination resistor. Receive Channels (ETH_RXD0..ETH_RXD3 ) is have termination resistor. But you add termination resistor on Transmit Channels in your application note(AN5031 page 74 ). I confused about transmit channels termination resistor. Please explain this.Screenshots
Hi STM-Team,We are facing problem while using multiple USART in parallel on STM32MP153C running Linux kernel v5.4.Our application contains two separate threads communicating on two separate RS485 ports in parallel at every ~10ms. After further debugging, we were able to narrow down the use-case to writes happening in parallel. The write on one of the RS485 is stuck and it never finishes and the thread is blocked forever.Simplified way of reproducing the issue using Linux script is as follows (2 instances of this running on two separate RS485 (ttySTM3 and ttySTM7) in parallel): -------------------------------------------#!/bin/bashwhile truedo echo -n -e '\x00\x01\x02\x03\x04\x05\x06\x07' > /dev/ttySTM3 # echo -n -e '\x00\x01\x02\x03\x04\x05\x06\x07' > /dev/ttySTM7done---------------------------------------------------------With this script, we can see write on one of RS485 is blocked after few seconds. Only way of recovering from this is to reboot the device. For debugging, when
Hi STM-Team,We are trying to enable/configure HS200/HS400 mode in eMMC on STM32MP157F-EV1 evaluation board. We are using the stm32mp157f-ev1.dts device tree and we have configured the eMMC node as shown in below screenshot. As per the documentation, we came to know that to select HS200/HS200/HS400, VCCQ has to be set to 1.8 V or 1.2 V.So, we have set "vqmmc-supply" property in device tree to 1.8 range regulator i.e. "v1v8" as shown below.------------------------------------------------------------------------ v1v8: ldo6 { regulator-name = "v1v8"; regulator-min-microvolt = <1800000>; regulator-max-microvolt = <1800000>; &
Hi, Community,SDMMC3 is not working on STM32MP157F-EV1 board.I'm not sure what's wrong.I can confirm that SDMMC3_CK/CMD/D0 signals are input and output by osilloscope,but SDMMC_FIFO is empty.The following code is part of the SD_SendSDStatus function in stm32mp1xx_hal_sd.cstatic uint32_t SD_SendSDStatus(SD_HandleTypeDef *hsd, uint32_t *pSDstatus) { : : : /* Send ACMD13 (SD_APP_STAUS) with argument as card's RCA */ errorstate = SDMMC_CmdStatusRegister(hsd->Instance); if(errorstate != HAL_SD_ERROR_NONE) { hsd->ErrorCode |= HAL_SD_ERROR_NONE; return errorstate; } /* Get status data */ while(!__HAL_SD_GET_FLAG(hsd, SDMMC_FLAG_RXOVERR | SDMMC_FLAG_DCRCFAIL | SDMMC_FLAG_DTIMEOUT | SDMMC_FLAG_DATAEND)) { if(__HAL_SD_GET_FLAG(hsd, SDMMC_FLAG_RXFIFOHF)) { for(count = 0U; count < 8U; count++) { *pData = SDMMC_ReadFIFO(hsd->Instance); ★★★NOT REACHABLE!!!★★★ pData++; } } if((HAL_GetTick() - tickstart) >= SDMMC_DATATIMEOUT) { return HAL_SD_ERROR_TIMEOUT
I'm now trying to blink a LED on my STM32MP157-DK2 board.I have managed to run and even modify the GPIO_EXTI example, but I'd like to do this from scratch.1) I first created a project using CubeMX and wrote my code in the IDE.It seems that I can't use the BSP_LED_*** instructions as the build gives compilation errors : why can't I build my code when using these instructions ? Do I miss an include ?2) Then I tried to use the HAL_GPIO_*** instructions. This time, the build is successful, but the debug does not blink the LED.I have seen in the manual UM2367 that the blue LED is connected to PD11, so I try this:HAL_GPIO_TogglePin (GPIOD, GPIO_PIN_11); HAL_Delay (100); /* Insert delay 100 ms */but it doesn't blink. What did I miss? Thanks for your help.
We have custom board design based on stm32157C-DK2. We just ise other LCD panel. We have updated device tree and probe function of panel is called. But in method: ltdc_load it fails to find any panel.bridge when calling: drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge (return -517 EPROBE_DEFFER)Is there something else to check if we want to use other panel please? Thanks.
Hello All,We have the STM32MP1xxx-DK. and we had build the image for this board using the steps mentioned on ST wiki to generate the distribution image. We had build st-image-core as its size is less then Weston image. We want not to enable the SPI-5 so that we can done some testing on SPI.Can you please guide us where we need to do changes to enable the spi.We are new in Linux. Thanks
I'm working on project that required SPI with DMA .I'm working on STM32MP157C-DK2 board.I am trying to enable CONFIG_SPI_STM32_DMA macro in my config file getting error in zephyr driver due to DMA has not yet been ported on STM32MP1.Any suggestions. Thanks in advance!!
Hi! I'm really new to this world, so I'll appreciate the simplicity of your answers.I have an STM32MP157F-DK2 at the University and I need to measure a voltage signal and an UART signal. Can I use only the dual Cortex®-A7 32 bits for configuring the board pins? Or do I must use the Cortex®-M4?Either way, I'm having problems with understanding all this. I have finished reading the instalation wikis, what's the difference between working with the Cortex®-M4 with STM32CubeMP1 installed, and working with the Cortex®-A7 32 bits with the Linux Kernell?I need to create a GUI that shows the voltage signal an the UART that represents temperature, but I need the pins of the board for detecting those signals.
Hello everyone,I'm trying to get started with the STM32MP157 with the STM32MP157x-EV1 Evaluation board by following the exact steps shown here.Everything seems to be running smoothly but when I try to flash the microSD card on the board, something happens: Apparently the problem begins allright, but then, after the message saying "reconnecting the device..." nothing happens and the flashing stops. Here's the log:user@STest:~/STM32MPU_workspace/STM32MP15-Ecosystem-v1.0.0/Starter-Package/stm32mp1-openstlinux-4.19-thud-mp1-19-02-20/images/stm32mp1$ STM32_Programmer_CLI -c port=usb1 -w flashlayout_st-image-weston/FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157c-ev1-trusted.tsv ------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.0.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- USB speed : High Speed (480MBit/s) Manuf. Hi there,I would be interested to know if there is any guidance or any existing example projects for using the STM32MP1 with an RTOS on the A7 cores. I am interested in the possibility of running an RTOS like ThreadX/SMP on the A7 cores (plus the M4 core separately). If this is possible, can the headers from the MP1 HAL be used? Are the memory-mapped peripherals all still accessible at the same base addresses on both the M4 and A7 sides? And regarding the Vivante GPU, is that possible to drive directly without the Linux driver? Are there any public datasheets? I've seen some open-source projects which have reverse-engineered the opcodes. Are there any more official projects or documentation resources for this device? Many thanks,Roger
I'm trying the tutorial on UART (https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/STM32StepByStep:Step3_Introduction_to_the_UART) with an STM32MP157F-DK2 board.I tried defining the USART2 GPIOs with CubeMX as found in the reference document UM2637: DP5 - TX, PD6 - RX (I even tried alternate ports such as PA2, PA3). The generated code compiles well. I then open a Putty connexion on COM19 (the ST Link port) with the required settings, but nothing is printed when I launch the debug. What am I doing wrong?
Hi, I need help to compile, build and upload a C++ code on an STM32MP157F-DK2 board. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Hi,I am working on this new board, with its Cortex-A7 core, in Eclipse IDE on Windows 10. I understand that this board is mainly developed on Linux.I've looked into STMCubeMP1 package, and some GitHub repos, but I am not able to find the linker file (.ld) and startup file (.s) from projects. All are Cortex M4 coreAny suggestions? Is there an example code about development STM32MP157 with Cortex-A7 on Windows 10?Thanks in advance.
https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/meta-st-stm32mp/blob/kirkstone/classes/fip-utils-stm32mp.bbclassFIP_SIGN_KEY is used to specify the rot key.But if that key is not found (wrong path for example),the bbclass and cert_create silently creates a new rot key, which obviously doesn't match whatever you were using. This is a bit annoying. If a key is specified, there is no use in believing thatthe user wants a generated rot key... If rot keys are not stored and presented during build, and for whatever reason export of keys failed or path seems wrong, this will go undetected.Your build will succeed, but won't start. What's worse is that you'll be stuck without a functioning fip...
Hello My borad can bring up from SD card. But can not boot from eMMC. When boot from eMMC. I can't get any message from the console. How can I find the trouble? Thanks
Hi,We are using stm32mp157a processor. We have some confusion for peripheral allocation for 3 cores. We referred document new microprocessor series with enhance performance thanks to its multicore architecture and graphical processor. from wiki.Below are the points we are unable to understand.1.UART1, I2C4, I2C6, SPI6 allocation not clear. These peripherals are not specified for which core they are allocated.2.If Some peripherals are sharable, how can i allocate to each core and how can i disable sharable peripheral to particular core.3.How can i find out privileged mode of processor.4.How can i disable secure mode for each processor in SCR register.
Greetings !I am trying to build stand alone u-boot for my "stm32f769 discovery board". Hello Newbie question here, so i was working for with the stm32mp157 for quite a while now .the boot process for me was flashing an SD Card or a USB stick and boot the thing up. How ever i was wondering if there is a method to load openstlinux or just u-boot into RAM and Un-mount the disk or something and the Linux will keep working like with Ubuntu (Boot to Ram) ? if so how to do it ? Thank you
I want to pass the some parameters to kernel command line. drm.edid_firmware=edid/1280x800.binI tried to use "bootargs" environment of uboot. env set bootargs "drm.edid_firmware=edid/1280x800.bin"But, Not working as I expect. I couldn't find my parameter in kernel command line. below is dmesg log.Kernel command line: root=PARTUUID=491f6117-415d-4f53-88c9-6e0de54deac6 rootwait rw console=ttySTM0,115200below is /proc/cmdline log. root@stm32mp15:~# cat /proc/cmdline root=PARTUUID=491f6117-415d-4f53-88c9-6e0de54deac6 rootwait rw console=ttySTM0,115200How to pass the kernel command line parameters on uboot?thanks in advance.
I have STM32MP157C-DK2 evaluation board. When I connect HDMI to TV, Backlight of LCD off. I already know that this is because STM32MP1 has only one display controller. but my custom board is designed to support dual screen (duplicate mode). So even if connect HDMI to TV, backlight of local LCD still has to keep on. Can I get some advice about it?Where is the source code that trun off the backlight of LCD?Thanks in advance for your answer.
Hello everyone ~Below link is my last question about display quality of dual screen. Fortunately I solved it but I faced other problem. https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00001mHWaWSAW/stm32mp1-can-i-duplicate-ltdcrgb-signal-for-dual-displayAs I mentioned in the above question, I want to implement dual screen that display same contents same time.My TFT-LCD's resolution is 1280x800 (10.1inch).so HDMI also has to has 1280x800 same resolution with LCD. The monitor or TV that support 1280x800 resolution in EDID display well both all.Below is "modetest" log when work fine.root@stm32mp15-prox:~# modetest -M stm -c Connectors: id encoder status name size (mm) modes encoders 33 32 connected HDMI-A-1 480x270 1 32 modes: index name refresh (Hz) hdisp hss hse htot vdisp vss vse vtot) #0 1280x800 59.91 1280 1328 1360 1440 800 803 809 823 71000 flags: phsync, nvsync; type: driver props: 1 EDID: flags: immutable blob blobs: value: 00ffffffffffff001e6db85a01010101 0118010380301
I am working with Murata community but thought I would also see if anyone has experience on our specific type of board. Our design is based on STM32MP175C. They mention needing custom FW and their Yocto layer, etc. Seems emphasized on working with NXP based systems. https://community.murata.com/s/article/Drill-down-RF-Test-Procedure
