Hello We are implementing WWDG watchdog in our custom board to cortex-M4 core in cubeIDE tool. We initialise the following registers -> enable the clock to WWDG -> In control register enable the Watchdog enable bit and watchdog counter. -> In configuration register enabled Early wakeup interrupt and timer base , window value. while updating the watchdog counter before reaching window value, code is working fine. While not updating watchdog counter , After some time we are getting Early wakeup interrupt read in status register. In this case code has not restarted. May be what is the issue ? Is this followed sequence ok/Not ?. Help me in this regards.regardssrikanth
When I design the FPGA interface, I need the detail timing para. when M4 in memory map mod. Where can I get the docu? thank you

The board is set up as follows, and USB of ST-Link V2-1 is connected to Host PC. when using Linux host pc , /dev/ATM* devices not recognized. So I used a Windows PC, but it is not recognized either.Do I need to install a special driver to recognize the Uart serial?Or is there a problem with the Jumper setting?
Hi!STM32MP1 provides a real-time core, and we use it for the hard-real time. But additionally, we would need the application running on the two fast cores to also be real-time. (with softer constraints but still better than standard scheduling on Linux). For this, I added to the yocto project, at (not the best place, but just trying to make it to work for now):Layers/meta-st/meta-st-openstlinux/conf/distro/openstlinux-weston.confPREFERRED_PROVIDER_virtual/kernel = "linux-yocto-rt" COMPATIBLE_MACHINE = "(stm32mp1)"But then, I get the following errors:ERROR: Nothing PROVIDES 'quilt-native'quilt-native was skipped: incompatible with machine stm32mp1 (not in COMPATIBLE_MACHINE)ERROR: Required build target 'st-image-weston' has no buildable providers.Missing or unbuildable dependency chain was: ['st-image-weston', 'quilt-native']
Hi ~I'm using my custom board with STM32MP157C MPU. I'm currently trying to adjust the LCD brightness using PWM.And I was able to implement it by referring to the link below.https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000AvgWuGSQU/how-to-use-timers2-as-pwmbacklightHowever, Linux boots with the backlight turned off.I have to manually turn on the backlight by entering the following command.# echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/panel-backlight/bl_powerHow can I boot with the backlight turned on?I have attached my device tree file.I'm using Timer2 CH4 for pwm-backlight
Hi, I'm getting error "(gtk_hello_world:1474): Gtk-WARNING **: 18:09:46.325: cannot open display: " while executing "hello-world" sample application with STM32MP157F-DK2. Expected a GTK window is NOT displayed on display screenI have followed steps as mentioned in Create a simple hello-world application - stm32mpuI'm using Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS installed on Windows 11 laptop with Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager 7.0.6Error/Warning message screenshot attached
I'd like to play a FHD video 1920x1080 25 fps on a FHD monitor. There is some hardware codec inside MPU I can use?On other platform (like imx6 I used it own codec h264), but reading datasheet I don'r find anything about codecs video on thi MPU.I suppose MPU has not usable hardare video codec. Thanks all MZ

Hello,I am having trouble booting OPTEE on a custom platform with 256MB of DDR3. The boot log is attached. I added some debug printfs and I can see that OPTEE freezes on 454 in core/arch/arm/kernel/boot.c. I believe this is the first time OPTEE starts paging so I am wondering if there is a minimum size that the DDR3 must be to work correctly? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!
Hi,We are trying to replace UART8 instead of UART4 in uboot and UART8 doesn't work for us.We change to UART3 it work just fine. When we open STM32CubeMX, hopefully we can find something, but seem the application doesn't allow us to select UART8.Anyone know why there is red circle on UART, please?
I am trying to exchange data in an indirect way using the rpmsg_sdb driver. The memory in the cma area (0xe800000) was allocated through mmap in Linux. When accessing the 0xe8000000 area in m4, a HardFault occurs and the program stops. However, there is no problem in accessing areas below 0xe0000000, such as 0xd8000000.Is there a limit to the ddr memory access area of the m4 processor?Or is there a way to access areas above 0xe0000000?
I cannot load the image into the SD card of the STM32MP157F-DK2 board.I set the switches to OFFI start the board that starts in BOOT FOR FLASCHING (only the LD4 led is on steady red)Through the terminal or graphical STMProgrammer I start the download of the image (file: FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157f-dk2-trusted.tsv)It loads Partition ID 0x001 correctly, finishes loading Partition ID 0x003, then the board exits the BOOT FOR FLASHING mode (the blue LD8 LED lights up and the LD6 LED flashes red) and the software returns to me Reconnecting the device ...

Hello,I'm currently using the following setting for the ethernet0 in Linux 5.7.6:&ethernet0 { status = "okay"; interrupts-extended = <&intc GIC_SPI 61 IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_HIGH>, <&intc GIC_SPI 62 IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_HIGH>, <&exti 70 1>; interrupt-names = "macirq", "eth_wake_irq", "stm32_pwr_wakeup"; pinctrl-0 = <&ethernet0_rmii_pins_a>; pinctrl-1 = <&ethernet0_rmii_pins_sleep_a>; pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; phy-mode = "rmii"; max-speed = <100>; phy-handle = <&phy0>; mdio0 { #address-cells = <1>; #size-cells = <0>; compatible = "snps,dwmac-mdio"; reset-gpios = <&gpioh 6 GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW>; reset-delay-us = <1000>; phy0: ethernet-phy@1 { reg = <1>; }; }; };It works correctly, while
I build the OpenStLinux from the ST Yocto project and added the Preempt_RT patch to make the kernel "real-time". ( uname -a correctly report PREEMP_RT kernel).After this, I am checking real-time capabilities with the rt-tests utilities.When calling root@stm32mp1-rt:/boot# cyclictest --mlockall -t -a --priority=99 --interval=200 --distance=0 -l 0 WARN: stat /dev/cpu_dma_latency failed: No such file or directory policy: fifo: loadavg: 4.69 2.97 2.01 3/243 7436 T: 0 ( 7207) P:99 I:200 C: 511845 Min: 15 Act: 30 Avg: 27 Max: 909 T: 1 ( 7208) P:99 I:200 C: 511534 Min: 15 Act: 39 Avg: 31 Max: 462I get too high jitter.I am wondering if tuning a bit the kernel could help:skew_tick=1 idle=poll ...But OpenStLinux has no grub bootloader.
Hello,my system is based on an STM32MP151x, running embedded Linux (Buildroot generated + all the ST patches, v5.3.56). I am suing an SPI connection to an external hardware but so far, i am not able to set the SPI clock to 20MHz and higher.Looking at the code (spidev, spi) it looks like the controller is just picking the default value (12 MHz) whatever the value i am using in my IOCTL call (i am using user space spidev ioctl to setup the SPI).Is there a specific DTS section i might have omitted which would allow me to setup these higher SPI speeds ?Thanks,Jacques
Hi,I want to know how to configure Wi-Fi in STM32MP157F-DK2 from MP157 console port. 1) How to scan the Wi-Fi network and check scan results2) How to connect to a Wi-Fi network3) How to get information about the status of the Wi-Fi interfaces4) How to get a list of Wi-Fi link capabilities
Hi,I would like to read the timestamp value of the RTC. I see that only the Cortex A7 have access to it and the documentation on the wiki does not give any clue to how we can read the timestamp from the m4.On the linux side i can easily obtain it:I know i can make a small service that gets the timestamp and sends it to the M4 using the rpmsg channels, but i would like to know if there is a better way to do it?Thanks
Hello We are trying to implementing IPCC in STM32MP1-DK1 evolution kit and facing following issues. We generated cortex-M4 code in CUBE MX (Activate IPCC,NVIC IPCC RX1,IPCC TX1 and debug UART) then run in CUBE IDE and generating .bin file. We developed cortex-A7 BareMetal code and initialize the IPCC registers (refer doc RM0436 Rev 5 page No 1052). 1. As per this document , what is processor A , processor B ? Now we thought processor A is Cortex-A7 and processor B is Cortex-M4. 2. While set the IPCC_C1CR.TXFIE bit ,IPCC_C1MR.CHnFM unmasked and set the channels IPCC_C1SCR.CHnS in A7_0 processor , Not getting any interrupt (Rx/Tx) in cortex-M4. 3. While set the IPCC_C2CR.TXFIE bit in A7_0 processor , getting interrupt in both A7_0 and Cortex-M4 cores. 4. We selected channels in IPCC_C2SCR.CHnS and reading IPCC_C1TOC2SR.CHnF in cortex-A7 code
Hello,I have rather a simple question. In my project, I have 16 discrete inputs. I need to test all but only if works or not. From a hardware engineer's point of view, it is sufficient. For the test, I try to use a simple console syntaxgpiomon --silent --num-events=1 gpiochip7 2Unfortunately, I have 3 discrete inputs which not working and after the issue above I getgpiomon: error waiting for events: No such deviceI also checked using gpiomon and this particular gpio port is free. line 2: "PH2" unused input active-highThanks for the hints.BRMichal
Hello. There is a problem flashing the system image to the board.I use MYD-YA157C-V3 board of Myir company. The board contains a 'MYC-YA157C' CPU, which is based on the STM32MP157 processor (STM32MP157AAC3).I mounted an SD card on this board and attempted to flash the 'FlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157 x-ev1-optee.tsv' file in the Window environment, but the contents of the warning and error messages were not printed. So I tried again in the (VMware) Linux environment, and the result was the same as downloading partition 0x01 and outputting the error message window after failure, but the message content was printed as below.* warning : Connection to device 0x500 is lost* Error : TSV flashing service failed* Error : Start operation failed at partition 0x01The firmware file I tried is... FlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157a-ev1-optee.tsvFlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157c-ed1-optee.tsvFlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157c-ev1-optee.tsvFlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157d-ev1-optee.tsvFlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157f-ed1-opte
There seems to be an option to change assignment in STM32CubeIDE (in .ioc file), but DMA1 is assigned to A7 and DMA2 is assigned to M4 and the another core is always greyed out. Is it possible to unlock those settings?
Hi!Our custom board sometimes halts instead of rebooting. Has anyone already seen something like this?Connect to device by terminal or ssh:$ rebootThe terminal then logs all shutdown messages, but sometimes (every third?)it stops with this:[ 4253.287388] reboot: Restarting system INFO: PSCI Power Domain Map: INFO: Domain Node : Level 1, parent_node -1, State ON (0x0) INFO: Domain Node : Level 0, parent_node 0, State ON (0x0) INFO: CPU Node : MPID 0x0, parent_node 0, State ON (0x0) INFO: CPU Node : MPID 0x1, parent_node 0, State ON (0x0)System halts and does not rebootNo idea how to fix that ....Bye Gunther
