I developed a program that was based off of the STM32WL55JC1 Nucleo board and SubGhz PingPong example. Working to create my own PCB and wanted to place the STM32WL55CCU6 on my board instead of STM32WL55JCI chip as the package seems easier to work with. From looking at data sheet it appears like they are the same chip just with different packages and different number of GPIOs broken out. Assuming I copy files over to a STM32WL55CCU6 project generated on CubeMX will it run without modificatitons or at least little modification? Edited by ST Moderator to add the right Labels
Hello,I am using a STM32WB5MMG on a custom board for a BLE application. I started the project with the Client profile. The application is able to scan and receive advertisement frames. I use a MAC filter to select on peripheral and try to connect to it. As soon as I try to connect to the server with the function aci_gap_create_connection, the program enters an infinite loop inside hci_cmd_resp_wait. The response of this particular HCI command is never received.I don't think it is related to bad parameter value such connection interval because I already faced this issue and in this case the function aci_gap_create_connection was returning an accurate error code.RTC is on LSE, wakeup is activated, IPCC interrupts are enabled, RFWKP is on LSE.As suggested in another post, I monitore the SR flash register and SRAM2A first register to see if CPU2 entered Hardfault but it does not seem to.I changed a bit hci_cmd_resp_wait and hci_cmd_resp_release to provide a timeout in case no reply is ever
I am trying to make sniffer for STM32WB BLE application work, (ref: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/Connectivity:STM32_Sniffer_for_BLE_Setup_guide). I am stuck at step 4.1. I am unable to get "STM32WB sniffer interface" on Wireshark. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling all software, but no luck. Thanks in advance for help!
Dears.I am following the guide for the matter part of the stm32 wiki. I am requesting help because an error occurred in the 1.2.2.4 Matter code generation chapter.https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/Connectivity:Matter_develop_and_prototype#Matter_code_generationI was able to successfully convert the .zap file to create a .matter file, but I failed to create the two files that contain the callback definitions. The error message is as follows, and I ran it on Windows.I look forward to your kind help.
I have two projects one was created some time ago with STM32CubeMX V6.10.1 and it shows me having 'blue' Enable CSS button for the LS mux the other is created with STM32CubeMX V6.12.1 (using the same exact part) YET it is greyed out. How do I change this or what am I missing that keeps me from selecting the LSE on this project? (See clock config pictures below and notice how the one allows me to select many of the fields and the other does not)
I am using the above subject Nucleo. I create a project and let STM32CubeIDE V 1.16.1 create a default project. I make NO changes to this. I close the .ioc and open main and add the following code (seen by Red Bars). I build and load to target. I place a breakpoint on the HAL_FLASHEx_ERASE function and when I go to step over this function I get a hard fault interrupt. I step into code and the following line MODIFY_REG(FLASH->CR, FLASH_CR_PNB, ((Page << FLASH_CR_PNB_Pos) | FLASH_CR_PER | FLASH_CR_STRT));creates the hard fault. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here?....The target address has been verified to be readable via STM32CubeProgrammer so I know that it is not out of memory space.
Hi Sir,I run BLE_p2pServer example code with NUCLEO-WBA55CG board, it shows build error on STM32CubeIDE. How to fix it ?The software version I used is :STM32CubeIDE 1.17.0STM32Cube_FW_WBA_V1.5.0STM32CubeMX 6.13.0
I am working on a custom board with the STM32WB55 microcontroller. The BLE_Ota and Main APP software are functioning properly. However, when the microcontroller jump to from Ble_OTA to the Main APP, the advertising stops. When I remove the BLE_Ota software and work only with the Main APP, the advertising continues without interruption. In the Main APP software, I am actively using CFG_LPM_SUPPORTED and CFG_USE_SMPS.Looking Forward to Your Response,
Hello, I am developing a temperature measurement system which consists of a coordinator and multiple sleepy end devices. On the Coordinator Side ZbZclAttrReportConfigReq is used to set end devices reporting interval. To ensure the sleepy end-devices do not miss the command from the coordinator, i implemented the following: Coordinator (in APP_ZIGBEE_NwkForm in case of success):uint8_t res;uint16_t tr_pers_time = 0x2AF8; //Dec 11000res = ZbNwkSet(zigbee_app_info.zb, ZB_NWK_NIB_ID_TransactionPersistenceTime, &tr_pers_time, sizeof(nwk_pers_time));Intention: keep transactions on coordinator for 11 seconds. Sleepy End Device (every 10 seconds):struct ZbNlmeSyncReqT syncreq;syncreq.track = false;uint8_t res = ZbNlmeSyncReq(zigbee_app_info.zb, &syncreq, NULL, NULL);Intention: poll the coordinator for new data Expected result:Sleepy end device changes the reporting at latest 10 seconds after ZbZclAttrReportConfigReq was executed and the ZbZclAttrReportConfigReq call
Hi, I am facing issues with upgrading fp-atr-astra1 version 0.1.2 to the latest firmware update, which is 2.0.1. What I do is I directly upgrade the firmware using the Android app "The Ble Sensor." I upgraded by selecting a file called "STMicroelectronics.FP-ATR-ASTRA.pdsc." After I had done that, the firmware went to Fota mode v.1.0.0, and I realised that all the sensor functions were not working when I used on ST asset Tracking App, plus the hardware was not functioning as well. I need some help I am still new in this microelectronic field, can someone lead me to the correct way to fix this??
I currently have a product that uses the STM32WB55 microcontroller, and we have developed a phone app that has all of the user interface to the product, and it also performs OTA updates.I'm working on a new product and I'm considering the STM32WB0 series to save size and cost, but so far I'm not finding support for BLE-based OTA firmware updates. Is there a hardware reason why this would not work? Why are there no BLE OTA examples? I can only find OTA update examples using the proprietary 2.4 GHz radio protocol. This won't work for updating directly from a phone.
Greetings I have a STM32WB55 P-Nucleo board, with the STM322B55 dongle. I am trying to flash the beacon project onto the nucleo board. I have downloaded the STM32WB repo from the github linkI unzipped the file and selected the .project from the following route:STM32CubeWB-master\Projects\P-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo\Applications\BLE\BLE_Beacon\STM32CubeIDE.I tried building the project but errors are thrown that entails the file stm32wbxx.h is missing. How can I solve this? Thanks
Hi all,I'm new to ST and was a Nordic device users.Few questions before jumping into ST.My need is to build a radio based remote control (not BLE), that means a transceiver for TX on one side and RX on the other one. Also mandatory: Digital and Analog pins on the board.I intend to implement FHSS communications between the two.My questions:1) if I'm correct the STM32 would fit my needs. Correct?2) I need a dev board to test my software and comms before moving to production. After looking around it looks like the STM32WB5MM-DK would be the one I should buy. Is that correct?3) ST seems to provide all software tools (SDK, IDE, etc...) Do they allow board flashing?4) Are they free to use? Didn't find that info.5) once entering production, which chipset transceiver should I implement? Of course it won't be the bulky DK, so is it just a bare STM32? The same as the ones on the STM32WB5MM-DK? Any model?Out of curiosity, we faced many development problems with the Nordic products, especially with
I noticed that the STM product P-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 is marked as obsolete. This kit includes the Nucleo-L073RZ and the SX1272MB2xAS LoRa® extension board. However, when searching for these components individually, both are still listed as active. This situation raises a few questions:Does the obsolescence of the P-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 mean only the bundle is discontinued, while the individual components are still in production? Are there any official alternatives or updated bundles recommended for prototyping LoRa® solutions using STM32?If I purchase the Nucleo-L073RZ and SX1272MB2xAS separately, will the same software, documentation, and support as provided with the original kit still be available?I’d appreciate any guidance or clarification from the community or those familiar with this kit.Thank you!
Hello Everyone,I hope you are doing well.I am currently testing the Sigfox_AT_Slave example from the STM32WL repository. My end device is configured with an ID, PAC, and Key for the South Africa region (RC = 1), as provided by the Sigfox build team. The device is located in South Africa, and all tests are being conducted within the region. Here’s the current status of my setup:The device is successfully registered on the Sigfox backend server using the provided ID and PAC.I have one available token for the device. The end device is able to send uplink messages successfully multiple times using the AT commands from the Sigfox_AT_Slave example.Issue:Despite successful uplink transmissions, the token field on the Sigfox backend server remains as "?" and is not automatically assigned to the device.According to the Sigfox support documentation, the token should automatically be assigned upon the device's first uplink. However, in my case, this is not happening.I would appreciate any insights
Hello, I am working on a BLE project with the B-WB1M-WPAN1 development board. For connection and testing, I am using the ST BLE Toolbox. For connection between the central (my phone) and peripheral (STM32WB), the pass key option is enabled, with IO capability equal to display only, MITM activated and with bonding mode. The problem is that in the first pairing between central and peripheral everything happens normally, but when I click "disconnect" in the ST BLE Toolbox, the HCI_DISCONNECTION_COMPLETE_EVT_CODE event is not generated in the STM32WB, which consequently stop advertising and I cannot find it by scanning. The STM32WB only returns to advertising after I click "delete bond" in the ST BLE Toolbox or reset the board.Sorry my english. Please, can someone help me?
Hi, there our new product needs STM32WB5MMG module to establish BLE and Zigbee link, also want to support BLE mesh and Zigbee mesh, so my question is do we have a sample project which can help us to know how to build these wireless feature? we hope you have one project can support all these wireless feature, thanks
(Referencing forum post: STM32WL + ST-Link = Target no device found (Custom Board))My team recently ordered a set of STM32WLE5CCU6 from Digikey for a LoRa Radio project of ours. We got the PCBs manufactured from a local vendor and began assembling our first set of boards. Assembled four boards in total (please refer to the linked forum post for more details), none of the four boards responded to the ST-Link or the Bootloader UART.To eliminate the possibility of our boards being faulty, we replaced a working STM32WL on a working board with one of the newly purchased ones, the board did not respond (same issue) We remembered that we had ordered a few STMs a couple months back. So, we picked it up from our spare inventory and assembled board #5, all things worked as expected and we were able to test the functionality of our circuit. We believe that such an issue is highly unlikely unless we have received STMs from a dead batch / production cycle.Any insight into this would
Hello ST Community,My team and I have been working on a custom radio board using the STM32WLx5 MCU. We got the PCBs fabricated and have assembled three boards so far. But all the boards (one after another) kept reporting "Target no device found" while trying to program using an ST-Link V2.Our current assumptions have been:Our soldering process has been cooking the STMs (I don't think this is a problem as we have used the same oven and reflow profile to solder F4s and WLs before and things were working)Something wrong on the schematic level (possibly with the NRST and BOOT pins)Attached below is the STM section of the schematic:(NOTE: We have made the NRST pullup resistor R6 as DNP and things still aren't working)It would be of great help to gain some insight as to why this issue could be occurring. Thanks,MoralkaraLynn
Hi,i'm trying to run example of LoRaWAN FUOTA firmware, but build attempt ends with fail. It looks like running postbuld.sh script fails, but it only gives an information about 4 errors without any comment. After run ./build.bat I got following logs:########################################### # 0- Set all global variables ########################################### ########################################### # 1- Compile all BFU projects ########################################### Create. Hi, I am trying to check the oscillator tuning of our boards and did some reference testing with a WB55 Nucleo. using aci_hal_tone_start. Using 0,0 I do get an output near 2.402GHz, but not quite were I would expect it. The header says the following: /** * @brief ACI_HAL_TONE_START * This command starts a carrier frequency, i.e. a tone, on a specific channel. * The frequency sine wave at the specific channel may be used for debugging * purpose only. The channel ID is a parameter from 0x00 to 0x27 for the 40 BLE * channels, e.g. 0x00 for 2.402 GHz, 0x01 for 2.404 GHz etc. * This command should not be used when normal Bluetooth activities are * ongoing. * The tone should be stopped by ACI_HAL_TONE_STOP command. * * @PAram RF_Channel BLE Channel ID, from 0x00 to 0x27 meaning (2.402 + * 0.002*0xXX) GHz * Device will continuously emit 0s, that means that the tone will be at * the channel center frequency minus the maximum frequency deviation * (250 kHz). * Values:
Hi,I am working on a LoRa application with the STM32WL5MOC module which features the STM32WL55JC microcontroller. According to the datasheet, this module is compatible with a voltage level as low as 1.8V.I am using the STM32CubeWL MCU Package for the firmware, and I have configured the Low Power (LP) mode for a 14dBm transmission power. However, the board stops functioning whenever the voltage drops below 2.05V.Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have any suggestions on how to address this? Thanks in advance!
Hi all,Can someone help me find the programming manual (chapter-wise peripherals) for the STM32WB55VG controller? Thanks in advance!
Here is my development environment:Software: STM32Cube_FW_WL_V1.3.0Hardware: NUCLEO-WL55JC1When I run 1_Image_BFU based on the original project, it works fine and can be upgraded in different versions. But when I ported my own project to use, the upgrade was abnormal and didn't start. So I want to enable SFU_DEBUG_MODE to see what exception is happening in 1_Image_BFU. So, I enabled SFU_DEBUG_MODE in app_sfu.h Then I compiled the project there is a reminder of memory overflow.then i add SBSFU Code region and other regions in mapping_sbsfu.h,like this:and mapping_fwimg.h Then recompiled 1_Image_SECoreBin, 1_Image_BFU, and 1_Image_UserApp, it was successful without any errors. I use tool to 'full chip erase' and programming BFU_UserApp.bin at 0x08000000.Then connect to the UART tool to view logs. when i load the UserApp.sfb file and update it.The fw seems invalid.I use tools to read memory: The locat
I'm working with an STM32WB09KE microcontroller and have implemented a bootloader to handle firmware updates downloaded via Bluetooth. The bootloader copies the downloaded firmware into the active application slot, and it works well for simple applications, such as basic "Hello World" examples. However, I encounter issues when attempting to boot my main Bluetooth (BLE) application.Specifically:With the debugger connected, the application enters the NMI_Handler() at the first call to a BLE function, BLE_STACK_Init().Without the debugger, the application progresses slightly further, reporting some BLE configuration functions (e.g., set_tx_power) as successful before also entering NMI_Handler().I attempted to use the Application Install Manager from STM (Of course i adjusted my Slot Sizes and Boundaries like documented in the Heart_Rate_OTA example), which successfully boots the BLE application from the active slot, but copying the Firmware into the active Slot does not work.My main quest
