Posted on December 16, 2017 at 05:53Hello everyone, this is a problem regarding my DISCO-L072CZ-LRWAN kit which I am using for a project of mine.I am using the LRWAN expansion kit for LoRa functionality while I am also trying to add up a UART as UART1 on Pin 9/10. While using this UART, I am trying to use the HAL drivers especially HAL_UART_Receive function which receives N number of character and has a timeout given by the user which I am giving as 0x00FF. Internally this function takes sysTick using Get_HAL_Tick() but as the LoRa function has initialized all LL drivers, the getting systick function from HAL does not work. Which means that there will be no timeout and I have to specify the number of characters to be received, which is bizarre.I hope you understood my problem. Please try and help with solution or any other alternative. If you have any solution for UART which solves this problem please reply.#b-l072z-lrwan1 #b-l072z-lrwan1
Posted on May 03, 2017 at 11:42Does anyone have any experience with the current consumption when using B-L072Z-LRWAN1 (STM32L072 and LoRa board) with i-cube-lrwan 110?I can't get the current consumption below below 1.1mA no matter what i try. In lowpower (stop) mode all pins are set as analog, clocks are disabled, debug is off.- I checked the device going into STOP mode- Configured all non-connected pins to GPIO_MODE_ANALOG, GPIO_NOPULL- Configured connected pins (UART, etc.) to GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP, GPIO_NOPULL, and set to zeroI also stopped the debug clock in the ARM: __HAL_RCC_DBGMCU_CLK_ENABLE( ); HAL_DBGMCU_DisableDBGSleepMode( ); HAL_DBGMCU_DisableDBGStopMode( ); HAL_DBGMCU_DisableDBGStandbyMode( );Also TCXO is Off.Still the current consumption is above 1 mA.Anyone out there that managed to get the current down? Thanks!#lora #b-l072z-lrwan1
Posted on October 30, 2017 at 17:25 Is it possible to 'manually' configure the Tx Power level using theI-CUBE-LRWAN v1.1.2 software? I can see that the End_Node demo enables Adaptive Data Rate: /* ! *Initialises the Lora Parameters */ static LoRaParam_t LoRaParamInit= {TX_ON_TIMER, APP_TX_DUTYCYCLE, CLASS_A, LORAWAN_ADR_ON, DR_0, LORAWAN_PUBLIC_NETWORK, JOINREQ_NBTRIALS}; ??????????? But, if I disable it, I don't see how/where I'd set the Tx power level. Related: With ADR enabled, is there a way for the node to limit the maximum Tx power level? #semtech #stm32 #lora #lorawan #i-cube-lrwan #b-l072z-lrwan1 #p-nucleo-lrwan1 #i-nucleo-lrwan1
Posted on September 15, 2017 at 16:29Hi All,I am using STM32l073 nucleo board with module. I am unable to get power more than 14.6 dBm while transmitting data packet. On my other device i am able to get 19 dbm of power using same sx1272 module.I tried writing the PADAC and PACONFIG registers separately as well still my power is not going above 14.6 dBm.Any help would be greatly appreciatedThanks#nucleo-l073rz #lora #sx1272
Posted on December 01, 2017 at 05:42Hi All, I have a custom designed PCB with STM32L073RZ + SX1276 LoRa transceiver + LIS2DH12 MEMS accelerometer. LoRa chip uses SPI2 and sensor uses SPI1 interfaces. Interrupts for the sensor are not being used. The sensor is set to bypass mode at 50 Hz ODR and the data is read by polling. Following is the sequence happening in the main loop: while(1) 1)enter stop mode 2)wake-up by rtc after 20 ms 3)read sensor data (x,y,z) 4)accumulate the data 5) do processing 6)sendData(processed data); 7)delay for 3 seconds 8)go to step 1While functionality is working fine, this doesn't seem to be a power efficient method. LoRa follows class 1 device architecture where two rx slots will open after the end of TX which is purely interrupt based events. So I had to add a delay of 3 seconds after the sendData() so that the MCU doesn't go back to step 1 until end of RX2 is completed. Is there a way to make use of the sensor interrupt to wakeup the MCU from stop mode in
Posted on November 16, 2017 at 23:52I purchased three B-L072Z-LRWAN1 nodes yesterday and started my long awaited experimenting. The distance while maintaining stable communication between two B-L072Z-LRWAN1 nodes is a bit of a dissapointment. After having used nRF24 + PA + LNA and reaching up to 1km, I was now hoping for a miracle in a tiny pack While the LoRa community claims >15km, I can barely get 1km with these units. I presume 15km is an extrem. However I hope things can be done better (at least up to 5km).Some obvious concerns are the antenna supplied in the box. It is a 4cm one. Another concern is antenna imedance matching. As it says on the schematics, temporarily replaced by 0Ohm resistors. Does anyone have an idea what this means? Has anyone tried to populate those pads with macthing components? Did it help? Please share your thoughts on improving distance with B-L072Z-LRWAN1#b-l072z-lrwan1
Posted on November 03, 2017 at 15:02Hello,Using 2 WM-SG-SM-42 modules which are parts of I-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 I am trying to establish point to point communication without LoRaWAN. I have updated the AT commands firmware to 3.0 and I am following the examples in documentation. On the transceiver I am writing commands:ATZ // reset the moduleAT+RF=15,869000000,7,0,1 // setting up the radioAT+TXT=1,48454C4C4F // transmitting the dataOn the receiver I am writing commands:ATZ // reset the moduleAT+RF=15,869000000,7,0,1 // setting up the radioAnd I do not get any messages. I was of course trying to set receiver in listen mode (AT+DEFMODE=5) and in continous RX (AT+DEFMODE=3) and I can not get any +RCV messages.Anyone has already established such connection?#usi-lora #p2p

Posted on October 20, 2017 at 19:16I have: B-L072Z-LRWAN1 Discovery board (based on muRata module)P-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 Pack (Nucleo-64 board with Semtech SX1272 bare chip add-on).I-CUBE-LRWAN firmware pack, v1.1.2Keil MDK for STM32L0/F0, v5.24aMultiTech Conduit gateway (as part of a LoRaWAN Starter Kit)all of the above purchased/downloaded in the last couple of weeks - so up-to-date.I have watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=497&v=np6oYopJyFI But it is out-of-date with both the I-CUBE-LRWAN firmware and the Conduit.See: https://community.st.com/community/stm32-community/blog/2016/11/30/stm32-lora-kit&sharpcomment-3834 It seems that the demo called ''Class A'' in the video is now called ''End Node''.So I think I managed to find all the points to tweak as mentioned in the video. Not mentioned in the video is that STATIC_DEVICE_EUI has to be set for the LORAWAN_DEVICE_EUI edits to be effective! The code built fine
Posted on October 16, 2017 at 13:28 Hi,I have been trying to run https://os.mbed.com/teams/Semtech/code/LoRaWAN-demo-72/ example (https://os.mbed.com/teams/Semtech/code/LoRaWAN-demo-72/ ) but I get this error:Is there any issue with the page? Posted on July 16, 2017 at 13:08 Hi to all At first let me say that i'm a newbie ,an old newbie. I'm trying to add a SPI display to LoRa board based on STM32L072CZ I have used STM32CubeMx to select the pins, clock and so on,the programming enviroment is the AC6 Workbench, i was encouraged to use the Hal libraries, and so i did. Once the simple project was generated i added in the code a call to a simple blocking SPI function(despite i set SPI interrupt handler in Cube MX) while (1) { Delay(10); HAL_SPI_Transmit(& hspi2, my_pdata, 4, 10); /* USER CODE END WHILE */ /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ } /* USER CODE END 3 */ }?????????????????????? I can see the data and the clock, but the SPI_NSS pin PB12 stays low. On the schematic it looks that it has to do with T_SWD IO_IN. Does this mean that PB12 is not available? If i check in the I/O register window ,PB12 results assigned to MODE2,as the other SPI2 pins are. What can i do or check to un

Posted on August 26, 2017 at 01:17The LRWAN tree contains a very old L4 HAL tree, doesn't support L496, also lacks support for NUCLEO 32 and 144 boards.Ported in the V1.8.0 L4 Cube supplied HAL libraries.Got about 90% through a port of the SX1272MB2xAS shield on to a STM32L496 Nucleo-144 board, currently stuck on the LPUART1 VCP connection.#lora #lorawan

Posted on June 12, 2017 at 15:37Hello,I am trying to use LoRa connectivity with the brand new b-l072z-lrwan1 discovery board. The End Node project works perfectly but I have an issue with the AT Slave project. When I try to send LoRa packet to my Multitech gateway, this one never receive the packet and I cannot use AT command with the disco board anymore. I can only do a hardware reset of the board. As you can see on my screenshot, the Join process has been done correctly. After the AT+SEND command I never receive a status like OK or AT ERROR.Are you able to help me ?Thank you !Aaron#b-l072z-lrwan1 #at_slave #lora
Posted on August 02, 2017 at 09:02I'm currently working on a BLE device. This device has no screen nor keyboard. It is using a STM32L0 and is connected to an application on android.I want to make a DFU (device firmware update) via bluetooth (OTA) so I can change the version of my product in a simple way. I would like to have my application giving via BLE packets of the new version of the firmware. How can I process to do this ?What do I have to do from each side of the game ? (android and my product)I wanted to upgrade the firmware first (in order to try) into a Nucleo IDB05A1 with the L073RZ and an app (NRF connect) but still no results.I've looked in a lot of different website but with no effective results ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T80kzxu7M04 is what i want but it's not at all in connection with my products ...#dfu-bootloader #stm32l0 #ota #ble

Posted on May 05, 2017 at 09:34Hello.I try to use I-CUBE-LRWAN example End Node for stm32L152. Base station is iC880A with raspberry pi 3. Also i use https://community.st.com/discussion/thethingsnetwork.org. I ported this example to iM880B (stm32L151CB-A + sx1272). And my end node device easy joined to base station and to cloud. But after first sending frame with data, LoRaMacState == LORAMAC_TX_RUNNING. And when time is gone for next send frame, LoRaMacState not cleared. So next frame is not sending while not reboot device. I found that after first send frame, in function OnRxWindow2TimerEvent():if( RegionRxConfig( LoRaMacRegion, &rxConfig, ( int8_t* )&McpsIndication.RxDatarate ) == true ) { RxWindowSetup( rxConfig.RxContinuous, LoRaMacParams.MaxRxWindow ); RxSlot = rxConfig.Window; }Condition not met, because SX1272.Settings.State == RF_RX_RUNNING, but must be SX1272.Settings.State == RF_IDLE. All parameters in example is default. What is wrong? How
Posted on June 29, 2017 at 18:12Hello,We've got two B-L072Z-LRWAN1 LoRa Discovery kit boards and we're trying to use the end_node demo project, included in the https://my.st.com/content/my_st_com/en/products/embedded-software/mcus-embedded-software/stm32-embedded-software/stm32cube-expansion-software/i-cube-lrwan.html package, to communicate with the LoRaWAN server through a gateway. In the initialisation phase, it calls the BoardGetUniqueId function to read the DevEUI for the LoRa module. The DevEUI should be unique for each different board. Unfortunately, the BoardGetUniqueId function always returns the same value, but you can't connect two modules with the same DevEUI to LoRaWAN.I don't find any source code for the BoardGetUniqueId function.Does someone know how to integrate two or more modules in a LoRaWAN application?Thanks#b-l072z-lrwan1 #lorawan
