Hey there,I am looking into using the STM32WB55CG as RCP/NCP on an embedded Linux device. All my communication is mesh local. I want to make a python script for communication between my devices, but I can only use the global IP address on netcat (which I used to test connectivity) the Mesh local IP seems to be useable via the open thread command line interface only. Am I doing something wrong? Can this be changed?Jeroen
Hello....I am using STM32CubeIDE 1.10.0. I purchased a LoRa-E5 from Seeed. The E5 has proprietary code on it that one must use a UART to talk to the device. I would like to basically erase the device and load my own code onto the device. I have created a very basic project in CubeIDE for the STM32WLE5JC which is the processor on the E5. At the moment my code does nothing more than toggle PA3 high and low. When I try to load the code onto the DUT I get the following error on the console:Erasing memory corresponding to segment 0:Erasing internal memory sectors [0 3]Download in Progress:Error: failed to download Segment[0]Error: failed to download the FileFurther reading seems to imply that the RPD bits are somehow set and I need to set them to Level 0. Can someone please confirm that yes this is actually the problem? And how using CubeIDE I go about doing this? I am very unfamiliar with this environment and would prefer to use CubeIDE rather than command line, etc. I was under the impres
I'm working on a custom board based on STM32WLE5JB. First few prototypes worked without any issues, but in the last small batch (assembled by different assembly house) many boards have issues with data transmission: using HackRF I can see that the boards transmit something on the correct frequency (868.1, 868.3, 868.5MHz) but the gateway (RAK7258) doesn't detect it. Visually it looks like the transmitted signal on the bad boards is stronger so maybe it's somehow distorted (but it is slightly closer to the gateway so it's subjective). So, two boards from the same batch, running the same firmware, do the transmission but the gateway can decode only one. What would be the best way to debug this? Could this be the consequence of bad antenna matching (antenna was supposed be matched properly and boards are assembled in the same run so the components should be the same on them)?signal from ok board:signal from bad board:
Hi All, I'm currently working on a project where I will have a proxy/Friend Node that will talk with a Low power Node. The proxy node should be able to go on standby when requested and in the condition I would like to obtain the optimal current consumption. The Problem I'm facing right now all related on how to enter the STOP MODE properly and how to wake up everything correctly.Looking at the examples I implemented my own version of the proxy example using RTOS.Then I tried to implement a lot of different way to enter standby mode but each of this one had a problem. The Only way I can keep my network working is simply not doing anything to the RF activity but in that condition the consumption are pretty high You can find below all the procedure I tried to implement 1) Using the BLE shutdown/resume function I tried using the function available on the mesh library; before going on standby I call BLEMesh_Shutdownand when I wake up from standby (after re-Initial
Hello,I have a scenario as you can see in the picture below. For creating mesh I am using embedded provisioner (dev1). If I provision dev4, the friendship is automatically established between dev1 and dev4. I want to establish friendship between dev3 and dev4. What I have to do on the embedded provisioner side or which function should I use on the dev3 to send friend offer to a LPN? Thank you very much for any advice!Vit
Hello,I bought a nucleo-wl55 card from RS.At the beginning, it worked very well and i started to develop my application.Suddenly today, when i try to run my program, i get an error message : st-link cannot detect a target. And the card become very hot !Any suggestion !when i connect the card i can detect the virtual com port :
Hi,Our device is stm32wb35cc,we use hci command HCI_LE_TRANSMITTER_TEST_V2(0x2034) to trigger direct test mode, and use ACI_HAL_LE_TX_TEST_PACKET_NUMBER(0xfc14) to get transmitted packet number,Recently we noticed that if we do flash erase/write after HCI_LE_TRANSMITTER_TEST_V2,then device would stop transmitting packet and no response to HCI_LE_TEST_END(0x201f)temporary(shorter than 1min),we thought this is topic what AN5289 chapter 4.7 mentioned, the flash memory management between cpu1 and cpu2,So we follow AN5289 and example BLE_RfWithFlash to implement theflash management mechanism for flash erase/write,but the result still be same,Any suggestion?or we just shouldn't to do flash erase/write during ble direct test mode? Thanks~
Overview:I have been doing BLE prototyping with an STM32WB55 Nucleo kit (the white PCB, not the USB dongle). I loaded a few different demo projects (BLE Heartbeat, etc) via STM32CubeIDE, but never programmed the wireless stack specifically. I was noticing some strange behavior with the CW tone enabled via `aci_hal_tone_start()`, so decided it might be related to an older wireless firmware and tried updating it. However, when updating the wireless stack via STM32CubeProgrammer...I observed it was initially reporting FUS v0.0.0.0 and Stack v16.12.0.27 (see attached screenshot).Questions:The Stack version "16.12.0.27" doesn't seem to follow the versions in Github (where latest is currently 1.13.3). Do the wireless stack versions programmed at the factory follow a different numbering scheme? Is there a binary or set of binaries to reset the device to the factory state? It seems like the CW tone does not work with any of the 1.13.3 wireless stack binaries, whereas it was at least sort of wor
Hi, I created a new project follow SubGHz_Phy_PingPong project example. Without TCXO configuration, my project work correctly. If I configure TCXO my project can't send and receive "PING" or "PONG". With TCXO configuration the Radio.Random = 0.What wrong in my project? please recommend for me some solutions. Thank you.
Hi all,I am designing a system of microcontrollers for a research project that take RSSI measurements from each other and send the collected data to a connected android device. All of the microcontrollers in the system are flashed with the same or similar program since some of the microcontrollers are Nucleo-64 and others are USB Dongle. All of the microcontrollers in the system are connected to the android device through a BLE connection that is initiated by the android device. I developed the code for the microcontrollers by altering code generated by CubeMX. Currently, I am using the RSSI received from advertising packets as the RSSI data to be sent to the android device. When I tried to run a scan while advertising I got the error 0x82 (No valid slot). When I tried to advertise during a scan I got the error 0x0C (Command disallowed). I am able to simultaneously scan and advertise when the microcontrollers are not connected to the android device, so I am assuming this issue rel
Hello,I want to upgrade my code using BLE OTA in STM32WB55. I followed all the steps that are mention in the reference manual of BLE OTA. but it is not working in FW version 1.13.3. I have also tried the pre build binaries of example code of BLE_p2pServer_ota, so this binary is working fine with OTA but the when I build this code and again burn the binary of this code then it is not working fine and same thing is happen with my code. For the BLE OTA firmware upgrade I have used the ST BLE sensor Application. Please provide me the suitable helpRegardsSarthak Malik
Hello, We are facing issue of missing downlinks, say missing 5 out of 30 downlinks, there is only 1 device and 1 gateway on TTN, gateway shows data that it sends downlink, but device unable to get it.If there is fast External Interrupts (use to count external reed switch pulse), this ratio increases, and we miss 16 out of 30. Please help us to solve this issue.Thank You
I'm using FreeRTOS in an STM32WL55 based application that needs to be active only few time per day (3-6).The system need to be in stop mode for most of the time and I have an external line that is connected to the LPTIM and based on this line status the system needs to wake up do some activities. All the FreeRTOS & STM32 discussion I read refer to FreeRTOS Tickless mode where the system needs to wake up periodically on a relatively fast rate (this is based on the system clock mainly) to keep its internal tick. This is indeed needed if you are using OS timers or some task are waiting on a service that is time based (e.g. wait for a message or osDelay)But if the system does not use any OS timebase services while in stop mode one would wants the system to stay in stop mode as long as possible. How can this be achieve? Is there any examples for that? Thanks
Hi everyone, I have the STM32WB55 MCU. The Bluetooth stack is V1.13.0. I know it has its own BLE_Ota application for this version but I wonder if it's possible to use the BLE_Ota application which is written for V1.8 on stack V1.13. So, Is the BLE_OTA application which is written for stack V1.8 compatible with stack 1.13.0?
Hi,I'm using a STM32WB55REV, and there is a typo in the option byte "IWGDSTDBY" instead of "IWDGSTDBY".STM32CubeProgrammer v2.10.0Best regards,Nicolas
Hi all,I have to port a working LoRa project from STM32WL55JC (3.3V) to STM32WLE5CC. First besides the JC (BGA) has more pins thatn the E5CC (QFN), anything else should be the same (expect maiy EXTI which te project does not use). Now my the issue: The SUBGHZ / LoRa stack is being initialized, no errors no locks, interrupts occur and indicate that any Tx is complete. The internal SPI communcation between STM32 core and the SUBGHZ block is fine. I can read and write any register with no issues.2But there is no RF signal at all comming out, neider on low nor on high power output. (checked with a decent spectrum analyzer). I must admit that there is some more difference between the two boards:+ The WL55JC board gets 3.3V voltage on all VDDxx inputs+ The WL5ECC board gets 1.8V and some 3.3V from a clean LDOThe wiring on the WL5ECC:VDD: 1.8VVDDSMPS: 1.8VVDDRF1V55: is 1.55V from internal buck (verified OK)VDDRF: 1.8VVDDPA: 3.3V (to get max. power)VDDA: 3.3V (to be able to use VREFBUF)HSE/SUBG
I'm trying to find a proper documentation for the ACI commands of the bluetooth stack included in the STM32CubeWB MCU Firmware Package. We're running the stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_fw on one CPU of a WB55 and our application on the other. Our application uses the STM32_WPAN middleware (e.g. functions from ble_gap_aci) to control the stack. I miss a proper documentation of these functions. What values can `aci_gap_remove_bonded_device` possibly return? So far I had a look at The BlueNRG-MS Bluetooth® LE stack application command interface (ACI), the STM32WB Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) wireless interface and of course the Building wireless applications with STM32WB Series microcontrollers. None of these documents contained a description of the individual return values.
Hi,I need a way to control external power amplifier enable to turn it on only when transmitting.I read that PB0 has alternate function intended for this (RF_TX_MOD_EXT_PA).Can I use this function to control the external amplifier SKY66118-11? This is the tested external PA according to "STM32WB55 External PA integration and performances" document released by ST i 2019.However SKY66118-11 has 2 control pin (CSD and CTX), while only PB0 is intended to control external PA.Can I have the electrical connection for the testing? As it does not displayed in the document. And also the FW scheme for the GPIO to control the external PA?Thank You,Muhammad ABDILLAH
Hello,I have found a new bug in CubeMX generated code.My setup: STM32WubeIDE 1.9.0CubeMX 6.5.0Chip STM32WB55VGYxFirmware pack V1.13.2If you configure your project to enable RCC interrupts, CubeMX will generate twice the lines /* RCC_IRQn interrupt configuration */ HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(RCC_IRQn, 0, 0); /* RCC_IRQn interrupt configuration */ HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(RCC_IRQn);By searching through the template files in the CubeMX plugin sources for STM32CubeIDE, I was able to locate the source of the problem. The following code is from the file "STM32CubeIDE/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.common.mx_6.5.0.202202251913/db/templates/stm32xx_hal_c.ftl"The code is generated once in the section located in lines 161-183 and then generated a second time in section located in lines 184-207.The second section especially targets the initialization of the RCC module, however it does contain exactly the same code as the previous section (including some conditions that will never be true because they targets in
Hello,I am using STM32WLE5CC MCU with STM32Cube IDE, and used Lorawan as End Node.I am trying to read battery Voltage from STM32WLE5CC internal ADC Battery Channel, I got fluctuating voltage level from it.I see 254, 201,220 like values, which is not usable to justify battery actual level. Please help me to find solution of this issue?Thank You
Hi,I'm using a custom board with STM32WB55CG. When I uploaded my custom BLE program with STM32IDE, the program could not work. Then I found the chip had an error with FUS and wireless stack. When I read the FUS info, the fus version was v1.1.1.0 and the stack version was v0.0.0.0. When I push the Start Wireless Stack button, the error with FUS_STATE_IMG_NOT_FOUND was occurred. Then I tried to upgrade FUS with stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_extended_fw.bin(Release v1.13.3) and encountered with the problems. I tried the upgrade with cubeProgrammer v2.10.0, v2.9.0, and v2.8.0, and it returned the same results. 09:07:04 : Old Firmware delete ... 09:07:04 : Warning: Option Byte: nSWboot0, value: 0x0, was not modified. 09:07:04 : Warning: Option Byte: nboot0, value: 0x1, was not modified. 09:07:04 : Warning: Option Byte: nboot1, value: 0x1, was not modified. 09:07:04 : Warning: Option Bytes are unchanged, Data won't be downloaded 09:07:04 : Time elapsed during opti
Hi community.I try to learn about Bluetooth communication with STM32WB15 but it doesn't have AT server firmware so I try to design my own firmware base on STM32L412 UART communication and STM32WB15 with transparent mode firmware. The problem is to learn about HCI, GAP, GATT commands because I don't know what is the process to bonder a slave, how to send information by them (commands) among others. Is there any diagram about the sequence of communication?or any information related to that can help me because I base on AN5270.

I'm trying to upgrade the FUS and wireless stack version on my STM32WB55 Nucleo board via ST-LINK using STM32CUBE Programmer GUI tool and seeing this error message FUS_STATE_IMG_NOT_AUTHENTIC. I'm using "STM32WB5x\stm32wb5x_FUS_fw.bin" to upgrade the FUS version. Any suggestions to resolve this issue?
I am using the STM32WB55 microcontroller where I use BLE and integrate my main program with code that I am implementing. On the other hand, I need to use LoRaWAN and for this I use the HOPERF RFM95 module in which only the radio part is integrated but in which I could integrate the MAC layer in the STM32WB55 to be able to use LoRaWAN. Is it possible to integrate the MAC layer code inside my STM32WB55 or is it better to use a LoRaWAN module like the CMWX1ZZABZ and control it by AT commands?Regards,
