I have followed the video tutorial Getting-Started-X-CUBE-TOF1-sub-titles-burned from the st website on the st website and used the documentation also from the st website Getting started with X-NUCLEO-53L3A2 multi target ranging ToF sensor expansion board based on VL53L3CX for STM32 Nucleo - User manualbut I am unable to get the sensor working. I have used a oscilloscope and have found that no data is flowing on the I2C bus (on either WB board) I have also tried to initialise the other I2C ports but they are also negative. Following the previous instructions I have got the sensor working on the NUCLEO-F401RE board so I am thinking either something is wrong with the physical boards setup (the jumper connections) or the auto generated code needs modifying in some way. I use the STM32CubeIDE to auto generate the basic code that I believe should work as it does with the F401RE board but I have run out of ideas of why it is not working. I have followed the same process for the different chi
Hi Team,Need the RTC Code base with LSE or LSI as clock source and needs to get the interrupt at every 1sec rate. Is there any example code with these settings. Please share the code base or any example project, those are very much useful to us.Regards,Srinivas
I just started with the 2x P-NUCLEO-WB55 board.Upgdated the FUS using the Cubeprogrammer and flashed the BLE_LLD then BLE_FULL staks, at least on one board. The other board was not reachable via USB after FUS update. The wireless page is not available via ST-LINK anymore, I take it it is dead. The CPU revision can be read out occasionally (randomly it gives error or the debugger can connect). The working board has a REV Y processor. The "borken" board has a REV B processor. After that, I moved on and tried the working board with some applications:First flashed the BLE_LLD application, the UART/serial did not work, could not see any activity from the example. So I moved on.Then flashed the BLE-DataThroughput application, CPU is stuck when it reaches MX_APPE_Init() in HW_TS_RTC_Wakeup_Handler where the following comment is: /** * We should never end up in this case * However, if due to any bug in the timer server this is the case, the mistake may
Hello,Working with a custom template BLE server, I face a situation where a characteristic of 40 bytes need to be notified. However on 2 different BLE master the characteristic is always truncated at 20 bytes on notification. Reading another characteristic does not truncate!Everything seems correct on custom_stm.c and custom_app.c files. The custom server works properly. The function aci_gatt_update_char_value is properly called with good variable length.Watching live expression, the full buffer is updated and length variable is correct.Watching down to hci_send_req (in ble_gatt_hci.c file), rq.cparam as well as rq.clen, everything seems correct.Using 2 different BLE Master, there is no way to get more than 20 bytes of data notified.Result it is not possible to notify larger than 20 bytes.Do you have any clue?
Hello, i just bought a STM32WL55JC2. It's working perfectly on Arduino but i want to use the LORA module and Arduino doesn't support it.I've configured my stm on CubeMX and tried a basic HAL_GPIO_WritePin but it doesn't work and i can't figure why. Arduino working code :Thank you :)

Does ST plan to support Matter? Are there any code examples or application notes available (I couldn't find any). Also, specifically, will a single STM32WB55 be able to support Matter connectivity and provisioning (seems like it should). Thanks! Dan.
When STM32WB is used as slave device, how to actively disconnect Bluetooth connection of mobile phone?
Hello,I was creating a new project for STM32WL in STM32CubeMX today, and I wanted to use the "register callbacks" functionality for a timer peripheral. So I have enabled the callback feature and generated the project. When I opened it the symbols for callbacks were not defined. I started digging around and found out that the symbol **USE_HAL_TIM_REGISTER_CALLBACKS** was set to value **1** in the *stm32wlxx_hal_conf.h*. But this header is not included in the *stm32wlxx_hal_tim.h* so callbacks enumeration is not created. The *stm32wlxx_hal_tim.c* is including the *stm32wlxx_hal.h* so the register/unregister functions are created correctly.Am I missing something? How the HAL driver can work if the structure defined in the header file does not contain callbacks definitions?Sorry if someone already asked, but I couldn't find any topic that addresses this.Best regards,Tomas.
I'm developing a battery powered application using the STM32WBMMG and working to minimize power consumption. I'm using STM32Monitor-Power and X-NUCLEO-LPM01A to supply power to our custom board and measure current. The application periodically uses the SAI to generate audio (alert tones). If I comment out the call to MX_SAI1_Init() in main(), the average current measurement drops by 500uA so I'd like to keep the SAI disabled until it's needed. To that end, I added a call to HAL_SAI_DeInit() near the end of the initialization sequence in main() and bracketed audio generation with HAL_SAI_Init() & HAL_SAI_DeInit() calls. However, current measurement only decreases by ~100uA following the call to HAL_SAI_DeInit().Here are the measured values (avg current over 10 seconds):With SAI fully initialized by MX_SAI1_Init(): I=3.4mAWith call to MX_SAI1_Init() commented out: I=2.9mAWith MX_SAI1_Init() followed by call to HAL_SAI_DeInit(): I=3.3mAHow can I pro
I am updating a PCB design that uses STM32WB35XX series microcontroller and 3 V CR2032 coin cell battery. I want to monitor the voltage level of this battery using the VBAT pin of the microcontroller. I know that is possible as specified in the picture below which is a snapshot from RM0434 reference manual of the microcontroller. Can I connect the positive terminal of the battery to VBAT pin directly for this purpose or do I need additional circuitry for connecting battery to VBAT pin? Also, about this warning in RM0434 application note, what is the value of this current? Is it equal to value of the current (IDD (BOR_PVD)) that I colored in yellow in the table in second picture?
I know the microcontroller has built-in comparators and I'm trying to use it as a transimpedance amplifier. So, I want to test the comparators but the Necleo-WB55 developer kit doesn't have built-in comparators. So, I have to test it on my custom board with the STM32WB55VGY6TR microcontroller. However, there is two big concern. The one is that I didn't connect any output pin of the comparator to ADC in my custom board. The other is that ADC cannot read negative voltage but the transimpedance amplifier is inverted OP-AMP. So, the output could be negative. So, I have a question here.Is there any way to read the comparator's output voltage without connecting the output pin to the ADC? (or is the microcontroller designed already for this purpose? because I found that it is not mandatory to assign the output pin in STM32cubeMX.If not, can I connect the output pin to the ADC even though the comparator may generate a negative voltage?
I am using STM32WB55 controller for BLE. I am using it with peripheral lite example. As I can see in the advertising data, the manufacturer specific data comes first and followed by flags and UUID. How to send in order like flags -> UUID -> manufacturer specific?
Hi, stm.The build analyzer of the CubeIDE showed the full memory size and the usage. When I build my custom project of stm32wb55cg, the size of flash and ram did not match to the datasheet. The below image shows the result. In the datasheet, the flash and ram size are 1MB and 256KB.How to configure full size of the memory?Thank you
Flashing stm32wb5x_BLE_Mac_802_15_4_fw.bin (233Kb) in P-Nucleo-wb55 takes about 47.82s through JTAG and SWD, I modified the frequency but I didn't get any improvement.I wonder if there are any configurations or flash methods to decrease flashing duration.
Hi community,I have a device with STM32WB55 that has worked successfully with mbed-os for over two years (since the mbed-os 5 version). I decided to do an update of the FUS and STM BLE stack because I was using the old 1.2.0 version and started having problems with the firmware update by BLE_OTA with the new application from ST and from own BLE Web API tool and own Python CLI tool. I did an update of STM BLE stack to the current version 1.14.1.[INFO][BLWB]: WIRELESS COPROCESSOR FW VERSION ID = 1.14.1 [INFO][BLWB]: WIRELESS COPROCESSOR FW STACK TYPE = 1 (ROM size 0xc3000)After this action, BLE stopped working with mbed-os, when other functionalities of the firmware work fine. To determine what happened I preapred 2 devices. One of them is with BLE stack 1.2.0 (how it worked for 2 years) and second one with BLE stack 1.14.1. and I began to make a comparison of this two.During BLE initialization, the program exchanges information with the BLE Stack on the other core via HCIDriver. This is
I'm developing a custom board with STM32WB55.Because there is some error during debugging, I'm trying to solve it.To check what is problem in the microcontroller, I tried Fault Analyzer in the STM32CubeProgrammer and the program found such an error below."MemManage fault detected in instruction located at 0x6414AA00"Here is the question. How can I understand what's this error and how can I fix it?
HiRegarding Scan command.I never get ACI_GAP_PROC_COMPLETE_EVENT after 10 sec. (AN5270 says I should get one)I do get all the updates, but never the complete .Can you check if I need to terminate it myself?
Please support on following:I am using the STM32WB55 as a BLE client (central). As I understand there are several types of descriptors. How do I know the characteristic descriptor I discovered is a Client Characteristic Configuration Descriptor(CCDA), and can be written? I am using :aci_gatt_disc_all_char_descThat generates ACI_ATT_FIND_INFO_RESP_EVENT.But the event does not hold a 'type' for the descriptor or a field indicating if it can be written. As according to AN5270 it holds : connection handle, format, length and data which i don't believe can help me that much.I took a quick look into your example for BLE_p2pClient. I see that the descriptor is found using the ACI_ATT_READ_BY_TYPE_RESP_VSEVT_CODE to discover the CCDA. But this doesn't help me because I do not know the UUID of the CCDA in advance.case ACI_ATT_READ_BY_TYPE_RESP_VSEVT_CODE: ... if(uuid == P2P_NOTIFY_CHAR_UUID) { #if(CFG_DEBUG_APP_TRACE != 0) APP_DBG_MSG("-- GATT : NOTIFICATION
Using STM32WB55 as a central. My goal is to write a slave attribute of size 512 bytes.I am trying to use an 'aci_gatt_write_long_char_value' to do that.Do I need to break the message to chunks or does 'aci_gatt_write_long_char_value' takes care of that?how does 'aci_gatt_write_long_char_value' relate to these :aci_att_prepare_write_reqaci_att_execute_write_reqThanks!
Connection interval: 10ms, notify payload: 240 bytes. The usb dongle will output some data and then get stuck.Connection interval: 20ms, notify payload: 240 bytes. The usb dongle will output more data and then get stuck.Connection interval: 50ms, notify payload: 240 bytes. The usb dongle is ok.What is the reason for this?
Hello, I am currently working on a project in which I need to log continuous data from the P2P server to USB Dongle (Client) while I send a command to the server from time to time. Before this project, I successfully opened the BLE custom server to send notifications and write commands through LightBlue App using the STM32WB series. However, I need to log data from the server in real-time now. These days, I am struggling with this project. Currently, I am modifying the BLE_p2p_server code provided by the ST (actually, I did a similar thing with the custom project on P2P.server.c but failed), however, I don't know how to add a function for a continuous notification and how to change Client code for serial printing received data and write a hex byte from the dongle (Client). What I want is that just get logging data from the STM32WB with my sensor while I am available to control some of the GPIO_Write functions using BLE. Is there any good example? (I tried Heartrate, data throughput and mo
