Following section 4 in UM2587, I've connected an FTDI UART-RS232 adapter to the I-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 sensor board to read the APPEUI but I don't get any response. I've also tried reading from memory 0x08080000 of the NUCLEO-L073RZ board, but I only get zeros. I've tried flashing the L073RZ with the AT_Master demo project from the STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V2.1.0 firmware, following UM2073, but It's still not working. Should I be able to use AT commands via UART on LPUART1_Rx/Tx independent of the firmware on the NUCLEO-L073RZ ? What changes do I need to make to the AT_Master project to make it work ? I think the AppEUI for example, should be populated automatically into memory based on internal memory of the I-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 ? Or do I need to call the functions LoRa_SetDeviceID() and LoRa_SetAppID() to populate memory 0x08080000 on the L073 ? I think the documentation could be more "beginner friendly" as most people buy demo-kits to get a minimum working example that you can m
I understand that C2 manages the power state automatically. I have confirmed this using the Cube power monitor utility, seeing that when there's no RF activity power draw on an the st32wb55 nucleo eval kit falls below 3uA. This was done with a simple Cube generated application in peripheral mode with library v1.17 - had to disable all debugging and debugger support in app_conf.h - as well as correcting the "bug" in line 178 of the linker script -> "*(MB_MEM2) ;"My problem is that after integrating the stack into my proprietary application - not using the library schedular, I cant get CPU2 to enter STOP mode: EXTSCR->C2STOPF = 0x1My application completes stack initialization and start advertising. My schedular enters wait state so C1 enters stop mode but not C2. Even if I initialize the stack without advertising start or call aci_gap_set_non_discoverable(); C2 never enters stop mode. What are the pre-requisites for C2 to enter stop mode ? How can I "force" RF activity halt on C2 ?
Board: STM32WB55Software: RTC and BLEHello,I am trying to get a project set up on the above board. It needs BLE, USB and RTC seperately. I have the USB running with Bluetooth now thanks to a relatively recent post offering a means to fix the incompatability. Now, I need to get a date running on my RTC but as the init code of bluetooth uses the RTC timing, this does not seem possible (without of course adding a seperate clock chip into the project). So, is there a way to init BLE from another internal timing source? Thanks
Hello,I've got an issue with STM32WB55(ZigBee) reporting routines. I've successfully registered 3 servers(temp_meas_server_1, temp_meas_server_2, water_content_server_1). I can easilyread the temperatures and the humidity from my ED using another ED (address0x0000). The attributes data is refreshed every 1 second.Unfortunately, there is no way to enable the BDB Reporting. The attribute list is as follows:static const struct ZbZclAttrT ZclTemp_AttrList[] = { { ZCL_TEMP_MEAS_ATTR_MEAS_VAL, ZCL_DATATYPE_SIGNED_16BIT, ZCL_ATTR_FLAG_REPORTABLE, 0, // custom size NULL, &nbs
I have a problem with STM32WB55 USB dongle Nucleo. After adding some code (according to: AN5289 Building wireless applications with STM32WB series MCUs, , https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/Category:Bluetooth_Low_Energy, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_wBH7mTQ2g&list=PLnMKNibPkDnG9JRe2fbOOpVpWY7E4WbJ-) Nucleo board randomly stops appearing in available Bluetooth device list after reattach to PC USB port. I have to then plug/unplug this device as many times as I will see device on Bluetooth device list. I enabled log tracing BT Application stack and the logs are the same with discoverable BT device on available BT device list and when the device is not discoverable (even if the App stack log says otherwise). Log below. Hello! Is it possible to connect stm32wb55 dongle to multiple servers without using a smartphone app???so i can get data from servers and see it on terminal over usb , like Realterm???
Can i connect stm32wb55 dongle as a central to different ble servers simultaniously and how to do it ?
Hello,Since STM32CubeIDE V1.11.0, there is an issue in linker file template, see STM32WB55RGVX_FLASH.ld file. In this file, there is an extra dot for MB_MEM2 section initialization, see this part: .MB_MEM2 : { _sMB_MEM2 = . ; *(.MB_MEM2) ; // Erroneous line _eMB_MEM2 = . ; } >RAM_SHARED AT> FLASHThe erroneous line should be replace by this one (extra dot removed): *(MB_MEM2);Due to this extra dot, the buffers that need to be in SRAM2 are not placed there, so BLE application doesn't work as expected. The fix will be available in the next STM32CubeIDE release (v1.13.0).Best Regards
Hello,I want to configure the STM32WB1x using AT commands. I tried sending just "AT" to see if it works with the pre-flashed firmware, but I received no response. I checked the firmware flashed on the chip, which is STM32wb1x_BLE_Stack_full_fw.bin, and apparently, it's not designed to function using AT commands.Do you know how to flash the chip so that it can be controlled using AT commands? (For my project, I'm looking to enhance the BLE capabilities and use UART to send data over BLE. I want to achieve this using AT commands, but I'm open to other solutions if available).Kind regards
Hi,I just found an error in the data sheet and wanted to let you guys know. Don´t know who else to contact.Kind regardsRené
Hello,I'm working with the STM32WB in BLE mode.Cube generates the advertising time interval with these values:#define CFG_FAST_CONN_ADV_INTERVAL_MIN (0x80) /**< 80ms */#define CFG_FAST_CONN_ADV_INTERVAL_MAX (0xA0) /**< 100ms */Cube indicates that this is the maximum allowed. Nevertheless, the function aci_gap_set_discoverable() accepts value up to 0x4000. I tried with these values by overwritting the generated values and it seems that it works (verified with current and BLE sniffer)Is it a bug in Cube?
SO, Peripheral side here, using the marvelous stm32wb55 !I would love to be able to start advertisement for a specific amount of time (e.g, 5 sec)and then get and the response whether or not I got connected. ( ALL IN ONE COMMAND please!!)Did someone implement it safely? My concern is that I stop advertisement while having a connection event pending..Now, I do not like the idea of processing all the events in queue ( how do I know where to stop? ) , or waiting for queue to be empty.. ( will it ever be? could get stuck there)ST guys , is there a ready command for that? In the code examples I see you stopping it with task, but is there a way to start it for X seconds, and get an event saying "You got connected/ Or not" ? Looks like a handy command, that is probably not in BLE specification god...Help please ( :
Hi, I'm using STM32WLE5CCUx MCUs with STM32Cube FW_WL_V1.3.0 firmware package. In order to find a workaround to this issue I'm trying to set the uplink messages as CONFIRMED.In this regard, once a MAC Tx_timeout is reached, is the re-transmission logic already implemented and executed by the middleware itself or do I have to explicitly build that logic in the app layer?I tried to deduce the logic from the code but I couldn't have a good conclusion. Thanks in advance!
1. I have been using STM SDK v1.3.0 with lorawan version 1.0.4.2. I want to force rejoin whenever no NVM context data is restored and rejoin using previous information whenever NVM context is restored.3. But when I try to force rejoin, I get the following error "validate dev-nonce error" on Chirpstack. I have attached the image below.Any suggestions?
Hello I need help to update my fus in stm32wb10ccu5. If there is any expert available from Stm please reply.
After going through AN5270, I have a few questions.I realize that there can be up tp 2 connection to slave. Can I read the current list of connected devices ( not yet paired) from the stack via an HCI/ACI command? As for LIMITED_DISCOVERY command can TGAP be changed to a lower value than 180 sec?
Hello all,Working on communication between two STM32WB55 boards , one configured as client , and one as server. When trying to write a characteristic I get a bad parameter error, but when I use the write characteristic long command it works fine.Writing a small amount of bytes works on both commands.MTU discussed: 0xFB > size of write ( 0x5E). What can be the issue? Thanks!
I am writing an application that utilizes the BLE functionality of the STM32WB to scan for BLE beacons. In all support materials I've found that show how to exploit the BLE functionality of the STM32WB your code must be coupled to the sequencer and STM32_WPAN code base. Is there an interface that allows you to utilize BLE on this micro in a more modular fashion? Note: I wish to only use a small subset of total supported functionality as I only want to scan for beacons.
Hello,I'm pretty new in working with STM32WB-Chips and trying to implement a BLE-Application.I am using a STM32WB55 Chip and for initial steps I created a project using Cube IDE and a Custom Template according to ST's "Getting Started" - Series on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKYWy7LKL68&list=PLnMKNibPkDnG9JRe2fbOOpVpWY7E4WbJ-&index=16).This works in general and I can read and write characteristics using the BLE Toolbox App on my smartphone. Now I want to update a characteristic value from my main-function, e.g. to distribute new sensor data via BLE.I added the needed header files in my main and try to call the functions Custom_STM_App_Update_Char() or aci_gatt_update_char_value().The compiler gives me no warnings or errors, but calling this functions in the main loop leads to a HardFault during runtime.Stepping into showed that the HardFault occurs after calling the static void SendCmd()-function probably.Calling this functions from custom_stm.c
Hi,I have attached code for .ino .cpp .h has changed to txt file attached here, please verify my code i get error server for erase function failure. and some time not working properly please assist us. please say how to solve this issue. my error was attached with image.
Hello! I am trying to get Wireless Firmware Upgrade to work on an STM32WB5MMG.I have managed to get it working with the example project in the STM32WB repository. This is FUS information: When I flash this project onto the device with STM32CubeIDE, I am able to see and connect to the device with ST BLE Sensor app.Once connected I press the Firmware Update button and try and flash the BLE_HeartRate_ota binary (that I got from opening the project in STM32CubeIDE and compiling it with binary output setting). Now, when I upload that project to my STM32, indeed the STM32 is updated to the HeartRate project. So, I know that the OTA is working fine. Now I want to try and and do it with my own simple toggle pin project. So I make one in STM32CubeIDE and compile and generate bin file and try and upload it the same way as the heartrate one. It does upload and I can see in the app that it did so successfully, but no toggling is happening (the device is still accessable with name STM_OT
Hi,I am trying to transfer 2k bytes data every a while (20s for example) from BlueNRG-LP to my computer with one connection event. the 2KB data is divided into 5 chunks (data packets), which means 5 data packets contain a complete data set. After I received the complete data set four times on my computer, the data received following that became only the first data packet, then after an other few more transmission, On the BlueNRG-LP side it gave an error code 0x88 (insufficient resource) from aci_gatt_srv_notify function. I did notice that if BlueNRG-LP is disconnected from the computer, and reconnectted, then the transmission could continue, which seems indicating that the resources reserved are for one connection event. I am wondering if there is a way to release the resources (for example the memory allocated to BLE transmission buffer etc.) allocated during the connection and reclaim it in the same connection event so that the recourses can be reused or is the
Board: STM32WB55Software: STM32CubeIDEBackground: I am experimenting with a Custom Bootloader to enable USB and BLE updates to my firmware. I'm getting the IDE to export .bin and .hex files on build, so I can pass my main application into the bootloader by an application to replace the current main application stored in Flash memory. The STM32WB55 needs to write to on-board Flash with a 64-bit Double Word (8 Bytes).Issue: Is the .bin file that is created by the IDE aligned to this size? Is there a way to ensure that? I do not know if simply padding the end of the .bin file with 0's to make the last 8 bytes / padding each .hex line as needed with 0s is a safe (and memory efficient!) option? I am relatively fresh to this area.Any advice much appreciated,Thank you
