Posted on May 15, 2012 at 17:40Hi all, I'm trying to add an LCD screen to my discovery. I have bought one from ITEASTUDIO (http://iteadstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18&products_id=538) I'm modifing the stm324xg_eval_lcd.c but I have a doubt!! In the function LCD_CtrlLinesConfig in the SRAM Address lines configuration it uses the PF0 pin as address pin (and from EVAL user manual FSMC_A0) but in my discovery I don't have any FSMC_A0!!! Only, FSMC_A16, etc... Can I use this pin (FSMC_A16) as my FSMC_A0 address or is it a problem to drive the TFT_RS pin of my lcd?? thanks! C #lcd-stm32f4discovery
Posted on December 12, 2011 at 10:52Hi, I use a stm3210c-eval board. I connect to the lcd display through the spi interface with the help of the st gui library. I find the display very slow. To display a 16 bits rgb picture of 152x152px, it takes almost one second to transfer and refresh. The library first set a proper window and then write to the lcd gram the 152x152 bytes consecutively. 152x152x16/9MHz=40ms which would be to fast to notice. What is wrong? #lcd #stm32 #eval #spi-/-fsmc

Posted on January 16, 2012 at 11:25Hello, I plan to use a STM32F207 MCU in order to display pictures stored in a SD card on a controller-less 7 inches TFT display (WVGA, 800x480, 18bpp). The pictures are static. Is it possible to interface such a display with the STM32F207 without the use of an external LCD controller? If yes, what should I be aware of in order to implement this STM32F207 based TFT LCD controller (SRAM speed, SDIO speed, ...)? If no, what are the other solutions (obsolescence is a major factor)? Note: the STM32F207 will be used for other purposes too and the TFT LCD display is the Hitachi TX18D35VM0AAA. Thank you, Johann #stm32-tft-lcd-controller
Posted on November 18, 2011 at 13:55Hi,In order to try and make sense of the DCMI I began by playing with the G-Eval board, using Keil MicroVision as my debugger. So taking the working RGB 565 firmware as a starting point, I put the OV9655 camera into Colour bar test mode by setting the Color Test Bar bit in the camera registers Com3 and Com20, as per the camera chip data sheet. This displays bars on the Screen of the G-Eval, although they are greyscale, still never mind that for now. What is troubling me is that in the debugger, I am having trouble converting the hex 32bit data into meaningful RGB data that aligns with what I see on the screen. I figured I would just convert it to binary, break out two 8 bit words from the end, and parse into 5, 6 and 5 bits and convert to decimal to get my RGB back for one pixel. However I cannot seem to make sense of values I am getting, they often have a heavy green bias. A shot of part of the DMA stream destination memory is attached.Could so
Posted on September 24, 2011 at 03:12Hi,I have a STM32 discovery board, and I am working on a project which requires LCD interface with the user. I haven't yet ordered a LCD yet but it will be a 3.5'' TFT touch LCD(320X480), and I will be using SPI interface for this purpose. My question is can I get a kind of LCD simulator or something which runs parallel with my IDE (atollic trueStudio) and can simulate a LCD? So I can have the driver coded, and user interface(menus, buttons) library made before I get my hands on the actual LCD.Thanks. #graphic-lcd-simulator-discovery

Posted on April 28, 2011 at 20:57Just thought I provide a complete example for the STM32 Discovery board. Seems a lot of folks (me included) struggle to get started with the Discovery board. Just getting the most basic things working seems very difficult. That coupled with the lack of good demo code makes it difficult for newbies like me. I've written a fairly in-depth post over at instructibles. There are a lot more pictures plus a complete demo for Atollic TrueStudio. The demo code makes use of FreeRTOS to control the Discovery board LEDs. The code also drives a $12.50 dollar LCD. The source code also makes use of the UART, analog outputs, PWM outputs, and DMA channels. All good stuff. Oh, and I also made use of the external 32 kHz crystal to record time by generating an interrupt each second. See picture below. Here is the link to the instructibles post:http://www.instructables.com/id/Realtime-OS-LCD-on-12-Discovery
Posted on March 13, 2011 at 13:48Hello allI'm about to display a menu on a touch screen in a map STM3210C board eval based on ?C stm32f107VCT.Will you help me to send a library (menu.c. h) makes a little work.Thank you very much.Best regards #lcd
