I am using STM32 Project with CubeIDE.When I select "Automatically generate Makefile" in the project properties, it seems that I cannot change the build location. Is there a way to specify the output directory for the build artifacts?

Hey everyone, I couldn't find a clear answer so I'm gonna ask a quick question.I mainly use STM32CUBEIDE to write my codes, and I often use aid from examples provided in firmware packages that ST installs. Sometimes the said examples have CUBEIDE as an option, but most of the time they only have EWARM, MDK-ARM or SW4STM32 and I have to go through .c files to recreate the project. So my questions is: Is it possible to import non-CUBEIDE projects into it?Also is it possible to get the build output (.bin/.hex/.elf) file of the said examples without building them yourself?Best Regards,Broman

Hello! So after few frustrating hours (as usually with ST), i reached the state when i found that CRC peripheral on STM32G4 (at least) DOES NOT SUPPORT DMA. Like are you kidding me? Is it for real? First of all i could not find a DMA request for CRC. So i've been trying to find some mention in reference manual, examples, documentations aaaand nothing. Somehow the ST created MCU with CRC but ONLY with blocking access. How could anyone from management approve this? Theoretically the only way to use it is to have a timer which will divide AHB clock by 4 (time for CRC calculation) and use timer as trigger for DMA transfer. But if anything goes wrong in CRC, well... you are screwed. So, congrats ST. Really clever movement.

Hi all.Below is the piece of code from STM32F10xFWLib_V2.0.3  /* System Handlers -----------------------------------------------------------*/ #define SystemHandler_NMI ((u32)0x00001F) /* NMI Handler */ #define SystemHandler_HardFault ((u32)0x000000) /* Hard Fault Handler */ #define SystemHandler_MemoryManage ((u32)0x043430) /* Memory Manage Handler */ #define SystemHandler_BusFault ((u32)0x547931) /* Bus Fault Handler */ #define SystemHandler_UsageFault ((u32)0x24C232) /* Usage Fault Handler */ #define SystemHandler_SVCall ((u32)0x01FF40) /* SVCall Handler */ #define SystemHandler_DebugMonitor ((u32)0x0A0080) /* Debug Monitor Handler */ #define SystemHandler_PSV ((u32)0x02829C) /* PSV Handler */ #define SystemHandler_SysTick ((u32)0x02C39A) /* SysTick Handler */   They will be as the argument of the function   NVIC_SetSystemHandlerPendingBit(u32 SystemHandler)  i.e:    NVIC_SetSystemHandlerPendingBit(SystemHandler_PSV);/*****

HI team,          I am using STM32F7 series controller. I want to use USB OTG in dual mode where I want to run USB device and Host on same application. So till now I couldn't find a single application or sample related to this. Can anyone narrow down the path for me how to achieve this.   regards,Shikamaru

Hello, I am very new for ST mc. I want to use evspin32f0602s1 for BLDC motor,I have generated the code using Workbench,STCubemx and finally code seen in IDE,but I dident getting what to write in main() function ,how it can handle any fault situation and how i will send parameters like Voltage, current and frequency serially using RS232,please help.

Hello, I'm using STM8S208 to receive 16 bit data in SPI slave. The SPI_DR is 8 bits. The master FPGA is sending 16 bits data, otherwise don't have enough luts.Is there anyway to solve this?

Does i++ or ++i matters in loops in terms of processor cycles consumed in STM32H723 MCU?Using CubeIDE. Optimization: O0

QuotePost[EDIT] displaying the values of the registers works on STM32duino arduino consoleHi ,I am in the arduino world ; for some more particular tasks , the existing API is not enough , so I have to write my own code and debug itI am trying to spy the actual value (setting) of some registers of some peripheralsthis generally works , but I have a problem with USART2->CR1 : it always says value is "0" , but this is not possible , because USART2 is currently working !Quetion : is there an other way to designate USART2->CR1 , in ordre to read the right value ?this is the code : USART2 is outputed to a logical analyser , so can I see it really worksMCU is generic STM32G431CBUx ; thanks !CODE: SELECT ALLHardwareSerial Serial2(PA3, PA2); // configure USART2 uint64_t millis_duration = 100, millis_begin; // configure a 100ms tick void setup() { Serial.begin(115200); // USB to monitor delay(3000); Serial2.begin(250000); // PA2 USART2

Hi Sir,I'd like to choose STM32F103V/R/Z to achieve the USB to 4UART and I2C in my system.Because it's said this MCU's USB support up to 8 bidrectional end ports. I don't know whether it's right or not.Could you help to review it or propose another suitable MCU? Thanks a lot.

I have attached the Actual Circuit as image. We have gone for flybuck topoogy.Input VBus = 335VDC. We require 15VDC, 600mA for Load Requirements. (9W Least Requirement)As per datasheet VIPER319HDTR is capable of delivering 19W. We designed the PCB Board and While testing we found that IC is not giving required Vout for current more than 0.25A (4.25W).Our Readings below15Vout, 114mA - We get stable 15Vout. Works fine without problem.15Vout, 209mA - We get stable 15Vout. Works fine without problem.15Vout, 283mA - Vout fluxtuates approx. at 10V for 2min, Some sparkle buzz sound heard during that 2 min. (This unstable state exists for random time 1 to 2 mins). Then Vout comes to the stable 15V without any noise. We tried several trials. Consistently we are facing same problem. We don't want Vout to fluctuate. Can you help us debug the issue. Recommend favourable changes.Note: I also connected Pin 2, 4 to GND (Pin 1) - As recommended in datasheet. @Patrizia BELLITTO @jsong.2&nb

Hello,I'm using CLI version of Cube Programmer for accessing/erasing/writing FLASH of STM32F412 MCU. The problem which I have is that I'm not able to reset board after series of action performed over DFU (using ST micro bootloader) while connected over USB. I do not see any way how to perform DFU leave operation which is described in AN3156 and this way how to restart customer board back to the customer firmware and this all by using CLI version of the cube programmer.Am I missing anything? Is there any way how to perform reset over DFU/USB on F4? Any hint is highly appreciated here! Thanks,Karel

After setting configuration registers in HAL_DMA_Start_IT, DMA fails to fire back interrupt, HAL_DMA_IRQHandler(). The TransferComplete call back routine is not called but only once after reset since HAL_DMA_IRQHandler() is called only once after initialization. Flags CC1DE and CC1IE are set after initialization and never change there after. I am trying to read a parallel ADC through GPIO using DMA with interrupt and timer input capture. I am using STM32L496ZG ucontroller and used CUBEMX to generate code. Also, I am using Timer2 with input capture mode to request DMA transfer. And using MCO to generate 2 MHz to feed to PA0 for timer2 ch1.I searched the forum and checked almost everything. I used latest  CUBEMX 6.11.1 version.Your help is greatly appreciated.ThanksHere is my initzn part;    HAL_Init(); /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_DMA_Init(); MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_TIM2_Init(); MX_USART2_UART

I need to reduce the RAM requirement to use the VL53L8CX with a STM32WL55 application.  I am working with STM32duino implementation and need an example of how to implement disabling some of the data output by the VL53L8CX (e.g. motion indication, multi-targets) as discussed in section 5.2 of UM3109 (A guide to using the VL53L8CX, low-power, high-performance Time-of-Flight multizone ranging sensor). An example "platform_config_custom.h" file or modified "platform.h" file and code snippets to include in STM32duino VL53L8CX example "VL53L8CX_HelloWorld_I2C" would be much appreciated and can permit me to proceed with our evaluation of the VL53L8CX for our use case. Thanks!Jim

Hello,i'm developping a new project (my first on st product) using a stm32G0 on my custom board programmed by stm32cube IDe.In version 1.15.1 I generate my project and get a correct IOC file with every component working well.I update in rev 1.16.0 and now I have an error in my IOC file on ADC1: ADC_Regular_ConversionMode:Anyone had the same problem? I try to modify all parameter in this sub tab but didn't reach to fix the error. Is it a way to have more detail of the error? Thanks in advance

Hello,We recently designed an antenna patterns for  M24SR64-Y chip. As per the spec, the central frequency of this chip is centered around 14.2MHz, (Please correct me if my understanding is wrong). Thus we proceeded to design the antenna with STM edesign suite with 5uH inductanceThe target inductance was set to 5uH, with 35u copper thickness and 1.6mm PCB thickness, For reference, I have attached the image below. We recently got the antenna manufactured and found that the inductance of the antenna is around 5.6uH. We can communicate with the NFC chip. Here are our queries1. We are not sure why we have shift in inductance value from 5uH to 5.6uH ?2. What would be implication of this shift in the performance of the chip ? Following is the PCB Layout,  Your suggestions would help us fix the problem and improvise for the next spin. Anticipating your response RegardsSuraj

MCU: STM32H753VI Scenario:Requirements specify that I must use internal flash memory to store error counters for our fault management system. I was going to directly write to flash memory using the built in HAL commands, but found that most people seem to use the EEPROM Emulator (specifically the one STM provides in their example). As far as I can tell, the reason people use the EE is because it provides wear leveling, and an easier to use interface for utilizing flash memory to store variables. I would like to use the EE mainly because of the wear leveling, as that is important in our specific application. Problem:I have been able to successfully use the EE on our MCU to store our error counters. However, I sometimes encounter a hard fault, and when it happens seems to be completely random. When stepping through the code, I found that the hard fault sometimes occurs when calling EE_Init(), sometimes when calling EE_WriteVariable(), and sometimes when calling EE_ReadVari

Hi everyone i download the Distribution package for ##STM32MP1F-DK2 and i made some changes on kernel like in device tree, my colleague is doing work-from-home job, So my colleague wanted to see the changes own there laptop and something want to change according to there requirement on same source code( Distribution package). how we can do that .please help me out this

Hello everyone,I'm currently working with the ST25DV NFC tag and I've encountered an issue with configuring GPO (General Purpose Output) interrupts. My goal is to trigger interrupts using various GPO masks, but I've run into a problem where only 'ST25DV_GPO_FIELDCHANGE_MASK' mask seems to work.  I configured this register with this function CUSTOM_NFCTAG_ConfigIT(CUSTOM_NFCTAG_INSTANCE, ST25DV_GPO_ENABLE_MASK | ST25DV_GPO_FIELDCHANGE_MASK );   I also used other masks but they are not working. I know that I am changing the register because i can read the gpo register with HAL_StatusTypeDef statuss = HAL_I2C_Mem_Read(&hi2c1, 0b1010111 << 1, 0x0, 2, &nfcPasswordd, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); Maybe someone knows how I can configure the GPO to generate an interrupt when a message is sent to the mailbox, instead of when the field changes.

Hello,we bought a STM32H757 i-EVAL and I started to play with it. So I chose the board in STMCUBE MX (version 6.12.0) and selected the default configuration. After compiling code which went well, it got stuck in the MX_SDMMC1_SD_Init function, with the following error: HAL_SD_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_FEATURE,So after reviewing couple of posts here, i figured out that there is a mistake in auto-generated codes from Cube, so I changed "hsd1.Init.TranceiverPresent " to SDMMC_TRANSCEIVER_PRESENT instead of SDMMC_TRANSCEIVER_NOT_PRESENT. Here Sd init function now:   hsd1.Instance = SDMMC1; hsd1.Init.ClockEdge = SDMMC_CLOCK_EDGE_RISING; hsd1.Init.ClockPowerSave = SDMMC_CLOCK_POWER_SAVE_DISABLE; hsd1.Init.BusWide = SDMMC_BUS_WIDE_4B; hsd1.Init.HardwareFlowControl = SDMMC_HARDWARE_FLOW_CONTROL_DISABLE; hsd1.Init.ClockDiv = 0; hsd1.Init.TranceiverPresent = SDMMC_TRANSCEIVER_PRESENT; To be honest, it seemed solved the problem but after couple of tests, it a

Hi Friends,In STM32H7 MCU, both M7 and M4 can access shared memory, such as D3 SRAM4. I am going to use a D3 SRAM4 address as a place to share some status information between M7 and M4. If a 32bits word is defined shown as below,  can the access from both sides(M7 and M4) be guaranteed atomic?  Does it need HSEM?-----Code example:volatile uint32_t *status_ptr = (status4_7 *)0x38000000;In M4 side,  *status_ptr = 0x1234abcd;In M7 side, uint32_t status = *status4to7_ptr;I know a 32bits word access is atomic in single core STM32 MCU. Thank you in advance.

The reference manual RM0503 rev2 has inconsistent information about the flash wait states.Table 9 in §3.3.4 shows three options: 0WS, 1WS, 2WS (and, by the way, it says that all three of them correspond to "1 CPU cycle", which seems wrong).Instead, §3.7.1 (description of the FLASH_ACR register) indicates only two options for the LATENCY[2:0] field: 000 zero wait states, 001 one wait state. Which is correct?

Hi. I made a custom PCB with an STM32C031 microcontroller. However, I am unable to program it because it is recognized as 0x466. The problem occurs in both STMCubeProgrammer and the IDE. I checked 2 st-links with the latest firmware. Regards.

I am using STM32G474VET3 controller. As i am using DAC out voltage for my application. So i want to know the  DAC output stability, performance over temperature, & the temperature drift at Maximum junction temperature 150 °C.Also any other factors affecting my DAC out. Also how to mitigate this deviation in DAC out reading at normal room temperature to Max highest ambient temperature ambient temperature 150 deg C

This question is about HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive.If a slave starts sending 8 bytes of data after the 4th byte sent by the master, is it possible to use HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive without a dummy (ignore) buffer? We will be the master side. Our assumption is that a dummy (ignore) buffer will be created.HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive(&hspi1, sbuf, rbuf, 12, 1000)sbuf[12] = { A, B, C, D, Dummy, Dummy, Dummy, Dummy, Dummy, Dummy, Dummy }rbuf[12] = { Dummy, Dummy, Dummy, Dummy, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H }Is this perception wrong?
