Hi, I`m totally new to STM32 MCUs and started a project for an application using the STM32L4P5CG MCU, I´m in the step of selecting a correct external LDO voltage regulator, I look at the PCC of STM32IDE but it seems confusing for me how to use it (I wanted the current consuption estimation) , I would like to know what should be the maximum current needed for my LDO voltage regulator based on the current my MCU will consume, I look at the datasheet for the mentioned MCU and found this, So if the maximum current into sum of all VDD power lines is 200mA for the MCU, the minimum current needed for my LDO voltage regulator is 200mA? because the MCU can deliver more current than the current it accepts, is this correct?  Hope you can help me, its the first time I´m doing this desing with STM32 MCUs

Hi,I don't understand the behavior of EOC bit of ADC_ISR register at the end of conversion process. My micro code is STM32H563VGT6.I start from example "ADC_SingleConversion_TriggerSW_Init".As the example I have to convert a single channel, single conversion mode. This the problem:after I start the conversion, the bit EOC and EOS go high togheter. But EOC then goes low, with no reset by software and any read of the register ADC_DR.The DMA is not active. Then when I loop with this condition:while ( ! LL_ADC_IsActiveFlag_EOC() )I stuck in the loop. Why this behavior?Thank you.

I have enabled Serial Wire Viewer (SWV) in my m55 application as I have done with my m4 and m33 projects, but the printf is not appearing in the SWV view. Are there additional setup required on the NUCLEO-N657 board such as jumper settings or additional software setup?Thank you.

[PN]: Custom Board[VERSION]: 6.4.0 [TOOL]: MC WB[DETAILS]: I am using a custom board with a single shunt current sensing topology. However, in the Motor Control Workbench (MC WB), I cannot enable the "Current Reading" configuration option. I have seen that in ST evaluation boards, such as those with single shunt implementations, this option can be enabled without issue. I expect the same functionality to be available on custom boards as well.[EXPECTED BEHAVIOR]: "Current Reading" settings should be configurable when a single shunt topology is used, as is the case with ST’s own boards. I expect to be able to enable this section in the tool for my configuration.[HOW TO REPRODUCE]: Create a new project in MC Workbench v6.4.0. Select "Custom Board" and configure it with a single shunt current sensing topology. Try to access and enable the "Current Reading" configuration tab. Observe that this option is grayed out or inaccessible, even though it should be available for single shunt setups.&

Hello,I have a PCB with just an SWD connector and an STM32L053R8T6 populated.   I'm running example code to measure standby and stop currents.  For standby, I'm reading 0.5 uA, which is within the limits given in the datasheet.I am not getting the expected results in STOP mode:  the current is ~14 uA instead of the expected <1 uA.The code I am using is from PWR/PWR_STOP/Src/main.c (attached), where it just enters STOP mode after a 2s delay.  I have not configured any wake up sources. The current measurements are shown below.  One thing to notice is that some peripheral seems to be waking up every 2 minutes.  I ruled out the system tick and the watchdog.  The debugger is not attached to the connector when collecting these measurements.Below are the same measurements taken after changing the code as:- HAL_PWR_EnterSTOPMode(PWR_LOWPOWERREGULATOR_ON, PWR_STOPENTRY_WFE);+ HAL_PWR_EnterSTANDBYMode();In standby mode the average current drops to 0

I'm trying to get the u8g2 library for OLED-displays to work, but I can't get it included properly. When I'm adding source and lib files (e.g. test_io.c and test_io.h) to the appropriate core folders,I usually do include the paths for every *.c file separately in the makelists.txt like shown here, which works fine:# Add sources to executable target_sources(${CMAKE_PROJECT_NAME} PRIVATE # Add user sources here ../../Core/Src/test_io.c )But what is the right way to go with vscode, when adding a complete library, like u8g2 with a dozen files?I found an example, where the complete u8g2 library folder (../csrc) is copied into the driver path and, for MXcube, included via compiler setting.Like this, in vscode I also copied the complete library to the drivers folder and added the include path to makelists.txt like this:# Add include paths target_include_directories(${CMAKE_PROJECT_NAME} PRIVATE # Add user defined include paths ../../Drivers/csrc/ # No error while compiling, but doesn't se

Hello ST Community,   Looking for the below details. I am new to ST Micro family. I came across the STM32WL55 and STM32WLE5 Chip set. Currently I have ordered STM32WL55JC1 nucleo board and STM32WLE5 seed studio wi-e5 development board. I am planning to use the STM32WL integerated Lora modules for Lora multi hop technology for my project. that means all the device I am going to deploy have the STM32WL55or E5 based on the finalization. I would like to communciate all the lora modules to receive or forward the data to next available lora module to all the way to a NB-IOT based deviuce which would forward to our own cloud space. My questions are follow1. Can I use the both STM32WL or E5 as a individual node to do point to point communication also an forwarder to forward it to form a multi hop network?2. If I order the STM32WL55 or E5 chip will it come same as the one I found in the development board? because the one i found in a development board has a Rf shield with ibuilt compo

Hi everyone,I am dealing with the configuration of a PWM in center-aligned mode in the context of the stm32H755 MCU. Such PWM is managed using TIM1 as "driver". The application requires to change every 100 us (TIM1 period) the ARR register to make it last a little bit longer/shorter at every cycle.I am running into the issue of updating the ARR register and noticing that while the expected output duty should be 100%, it is not. A very small peak down can be seldomly noticed on the oscilloscope. As of today, the only solution I have implemented is the check for up-counting and downcounting of TIM1 (100 us + 100 us), updating the ARR register only in down-counting instances, avoiding the peak. But in this case the control running in the background is underperforming, actuating once every 2 hits.I have found on the datasheet the ARPE bit, for what concerns my application I think it might help in my case but i would love to have some confirmations. Do I avoid the "peak issue" just setting t

Split from What RTOS is used on STM32F429i eval board GUI Demo?Thank you !I have saved the github page. Will try the examples there.Does the STM32429I eval board come with FreeRTOS installed ?

The I2C on our board is unclean, at all clock speeds - 1 MHz, 400 kHz and 100 kHz - even without rf circuitry running.  Signal traces are about 5 cm long in total.  Pullups were set at 1 kOhm to enable Fast Mode Plus, but even the Standard 100 kHz low frequency signal is glitchy. All the modules work most of the time, but eventually they glitch out and quit.  This probably has something to do with the I2C signals.  All of these chips are supposed to be able to handle a 1 kOhm pullup to 3.3V.  They are also supposed to be able to handle up to a 1 MHz I2C clock. Here is my schematic.  SDA and SCL are connected to I2C2 on the STM32WL5MOCH.  To test the individual performance of each device, we individually enabled / disabled each module and then watched the I2C signal at 100 kHz.   Communicating with the OLED:The MCU generates weird little spikes every once in a while, almost like it can't decide whether or not to hold

Is there any mothod solve this issue  If the Friction parameter is not provided by the motor manufacturer ?

I'm trying the example for STEVAL-STWINBX1 but when i use cubemx/cubeide example selector for STEVAL-STWINBX1, i only see 3 BLE and 1 NFC example but the SDDataLogFilex is missing. Is this normal ? How can i get the SDDataLogFilex example ?

Hello,My network is blocked, so can't access the packages through CubeIDE.I am trying to add the MCU package "from Local" as mentioned in the thread https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeide-mcus/unbale-to-connect-to-the-network/m-p/118945/highlight/true#M4106.Help -> Configuration Tool -> Embedded Software Packages manager -> From Local For STM32 U5, I can see two softwares - one is the package and other is the patch.Patch for STM32CubeU51.1.1STM32Cube MCU Package for STM32U5 series1.7.0Following the process, I was able to install 1.7.0. But while installing the patch 1.1.1, I am getting errror -My question - for the 1.7.0 is the patch 1.1.1 correct? Or the patch would be named as a progression to the base (in this case 1.7.1 ?). In that case, currently I don't need the patch after installing the firmware package of 1.7.0?Or the patch of 1.1.1 on 1.7.0 is correct and some procedure I am missing here.

Hello ST Community,I'm currently working with the STEVAL-CTM012V1 evaluation board and have encountered an issue using it with the latest Motor Control SDK (MCSDK) v6.3.0.This board does not appear in the supported hardware list of MCSDK v6.3.0, so I downloaded the firmware package for it from the official ST product page. The package is based on MCSDK v5.4.4, and the PDF with that instructs me to load the configuration file named “STEVAL-M01xV11shunt_FOC.stmcx” using the Motor Control Workbench. The .stmcx file is not detected or listed when I try to import it in MC Workbench v6.3.0 and the provided inverter JSON file (STEVAL-CTM01xV1.json) shows as invalid when I try to import it via the Board Manager, Screenshot attached. As a result, I’m unable to open or upgrade the project for use in the latest SDK.Could you please advise:Is there an updated configuration package (JSON and STMCX) for MCSDK v6.3.0?If not, what is the correct procedure to migrate a v5.4.4 project to MCSDK v6.3.0?Wi

Given that my QSPI driver and external loader for the W25Q128JVSIQ are already working, is there a hidden CubeProgrammer/DFU-descriptor trick that lets the stock USB bootloader read/write my external QSPI flash at 0x90000000, or must I build a custom USB-DFU bootloader that:Initializes QSPI and advertises the 0x90000000 regionHandles read/write/erase transfersso I can flash firmware onto the external flash over USB? If I do go the custom route, can I still use CubeProgrammer for the update, or do I need to write my own host application?

Hello everyone,I would like to implement a project using TrustZone on the STM32 L562 Discovery board. To get started, I based my work on the STM32Cube_FW_U5_V1.4.0\Projects\NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q\Examples\FLASH\FLASH_EraseProgram_TrustZone\ example, which is often referenced in the forum for similar questions. When I try to write from the secure world to the secure world, everything works fine. However, when I try to write from the secure world to the non-secure world, I encounter an error with the SECWRPERR flag. This is puzzling because I haven't set any write protection on the memory areas I'm trying to access. While trying to understand the cause of this issue, I checked the STM32L562xx Reference Manual and found something interesting. On page 189, it mentions the following: Additionally, if I understand correctly, the table on page 212 states that the secure world cannot perform write-erase operations in the non-secure world. However, this seems to contradict the general principl

Dear ST Community, Dear ST Team.To implement a small USB Device i working with STM32F412 MCU and a Flash Chip mt25ql512.The Good Part is, that the QSPI Communication works absolutly fine and i can read, write the flash and erase the Chip.Next Step is to Implement a small Filesystem with FATFS.After the Standard settings and configure the user_diskio.c, i stuck in the HardFault_Handler after the call f_mkfs() function. So im sitting on a dead end and im glad to hear some ideas or information about that topic. Thanks for your help.Thx RSheetz/********************************************************************************************/void FatFS_USB_init(void){// FATFS_LinkDriver(&Flash_Driver, USERPath);FRESULT res = f_mount(&USERFatFS, USERPath, 1);// If FatFS fails mounting process, create new file systemif (res != FR_OK){f_mkfs(USERPath, FM_FAT32, 0, workBuffer, sizeof(workBuffer));res = f_mount(&USERFatFS, USERPath, 1);}}/***************************************************

Hello everyoneI recently bought an STM32H735G-DK Discovery Kit, which has a 480x272 parallel LCD. I got the TouchGFX Demo projects running on the board, so I know all the hardware is working as it should.Eventually I want to use TouchGFX on a custom board, so I am trying to configure a new project 'from scratch'. I am very new to the STM32 ecosystem, so I thought I would keep things simple and try to display something on the LCD with a framebuffer in the internal RAM.So I started a new project in the STM32CubeIDE, from an existing ioc file (the one from one of the TouchGFX examples). I then disabled OCTOSPI1, OCTOSPI2, FREERTOS, LIBJPEG, TOUCHGFX, CRC, in order to have a project which is as bare bones as possible.Following this guide (https://support.touchgfx.com/docs/development/board-bring-up/how-to/02-cpu-running), i was able to access the internal RAM (with some trial and error, I found I could address bytes 0x08000000to 0x08100000.I then continued to this guide (https://support.to

HiiI am using stm32g0b0cet6, while writing bootloader, i am confused with the page number and the total storage. Its total storage is 512 kb, According to the reference manual, The Main memory is shown like belowQuestion1: If each page is 2kb & total number of pages are 383, then total flash should would be 2x383 = 768 kb. (contradiction ot total flash size)Question2: According to the memory address given of first & last page, the total memory comes up after calculation is 512 kb. here is the calculation:0x0807F800(last page starting address) - 0x08000000 (0th page starting address) = 0x7F800 = 522240 bytesAdd the last page size (2 KB = 2048 bytes):522240 + 2048 = 524288 bytes = 512 KBSo if it is 512 kb, divided by page size 2kb, it should have total number of page as 256. right? but reference manual have mention 383.
