I want to connect the PF1-OSC_OUT pin to another circuit on my board, to use this 32.768kHz clock for another counter. ( instead of adding another crystal )Would this be a problem?  I can buffer it to minimize pulling the crystal. Any suggestions?(I've never attempted this on a STM32 part)Thanks

Hello,i just want to use the Internal EEPROM of my STM32L052.I followed the short description in the STM32CubeMX manual. But it is not working. Here my small code example HAL_FLASHEx_DATAEEPROM_Unlock(); HAL_FLASHEx_DATAEEPROM_Erase(0x08080000U); //HAL_FLASHEx_DATAEEPROM_EnableFixedTimeProgram();?? HAL_FLASHEx_DATAEEPROM_Program (FLASH_TYPEPROGRAMDATA_WORD, 0x08080000U, 0x123456); HAL_FLASHEx_DATAEEPROM_Lock(); HAL_Delay(100); xprintf("EEPROM 0:\n\r",(*(__IO uint32_t*) 0x08080000U));Sadly it is not working. There is also no good example which helps me with that.Any ideas?Best regards Max

Hi, I'm fairly new to arm platform. I'm trying to communicate between 2 MCU via Canbus. with the latest HAL Library I set up 4 filters (2 for each fifo) id mask type , 32Bit. I am receiving my messages from correct fifos. what I cant get is filter matching index. If I set all my filters to FIFO0 then I get 2x Filter Bank Number(ex: Filter bank number = 4 / Matching index = 8)But if I set the filters to FIFO1 then I get 0 no matter I do.I read the refference manual for filtering but I couldn't find any detailed explanation for itany help on this?

Hello, I am getting acquainted with FreeRTOS using HAL Libraries. For that I have created two tasks, Task 1 and Task 2 and am simply printing "Task 1" and "Task 2" over a UART. If I build the project from scratch, then I get the text, data, bss sizes appropriate to the application. However, if I change settings on CubeMX and regenerate more that 2 or 3 times, I start getting this: make --no-print-directory post-build Generating hex and Printing size information: arm-none-eabi-objcopy -O ihex "RTOS_Trial4.elf" "RTOS_Trial4.hex" arm-none-eabi-size "RTOS_Trial4.elf" text data bss dec hex filename 8 0 0 8 8 RTOS_Trial4.elf   17:12:39 Build Finished (took 20s.149ms)I checked linker settings and they are the same as before. No amount of optimization settings will bring the code size down to so low. If I remake the project from scratch, then I get my values back. But I am confused as to why the above happens. Since the above project got built, I still tried to write it to my

I am using #[STM32 MCUs] #Cortex-m0 . In linker file we have symbol: __ICFEDIT_region_ROM_start__ How we can use this symbol in application ?I have assigned &__ICFEDIT_region_ROM_start__ to Pointer.i.e int *p = &__ICFEDIT_region_ROM_start__now using p we can fetch the data define by symbol __ICFEDIT_region_ROM_start__.I want that data to be in macro definition. How i can use?#define ROM_address   __ICFEDIT_region_ROM_start__ ( ROM_address holds wrong data )

Hi, I am new to microcontroller programming and I am having some trouble making a PWM wave with a STM32F767ZI Nucleo board. I was able to make a led blink with interrupts and now I am trying to fade it in and out, but for some reason I can't. While debuging and can se that at the moment the code executes:TIM4->CCER |= 0x10; //Enables the result of CC on the corresponding pinThe blue led immediately ligghts up with full power, even though the counter has not been started yet. The full code is shown bellow. Has anyone any idea as to why this is happening, I have read it through The technical reference manual countless times and the General purpose timer cookbook#include "stm32f767xx.h"   void RCC_Config(void); void GPIOB_Init(void); void Config_TIM4(void);   int main(void){   RCC_Config();   GPIOB_Init();   Config_TIM4();   while(1){   } }   void GPIOB_Init(){ GPIOB->MODER |= 0x8000; //Sets PB7 as output (Blue led) GPIOB-&gt

Hi all!Let's say I'm developing a board around a particular STM32, but I want to be able to switch it for one with, lets say, with a larger RAM. How can I know if 2 MCUs are entirely identical, when it comes to footprint and pinout? Is there some trick / tool to know this? Thanks!

Hi, i'm using a STGIPL20K60 IPM (SDIP-38L) .I have a two questions :Regarding the control signals :on ST website produt page regarding which states "Logical Function" : "Negative Input" ; this information is not stated in product's datasheet and not clear enough ?And in the datasheet gate signals input (HIN and LIN = "NOT LIN") are mentioned, does this mean that wanted LIN signal have to be inverted ? The truth table states quite the opposite and is contradictory with the waveforms (page 14). (maybe a typo?)Rearding bootstrap sizing :the product's datasheet doesn't cite all the parameters for a correct (exact) bootstrap capacitor sizing (IGBT and driver parameters).VF: bootstrap diode forward voltage dropVRDS(on): DMOS voltage dropand :QGATE: total MOSFET gate chargeILKGS: MOSFET gate source leakage currentIQBO: bootstrap circuit quiescentILK: bootstrap circuit leakage currentILKDiode: bootstrap diode leakage currentQLS: charge required by the internal level shiftersI'll be glad if any

I'm using mbed coding on stm32L432kc nucleo board. I'm copying the code from the stm32 cube code examples to put my MCU in shutdown [https://github.com/Rayling35/STM32Cube_FW_L4_V1.12.0/blob/master/Projects/NUCLEO-L432KC/Examples/PWR/PWR_SHUTDOWN/Src/main.c] The code compiles fine. I just added an LED blink inside the while (1) loop after the shutdown command to see if the MCU has wakeup up but it never blinks.Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi, I'm starting to work with a Nucleo-64 with a STM32F072RBT6.I'm reading these documents and not really understandign them:https://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/user_manual/2f/77/25/0f/5c/38/48/80/DM00122015.pdf/files/DM00122015.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00122015.pdfhttps://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32f072c8.pdf I configured the Timer1 correctly. I start it with these lines of code : HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_IT(&htim1, TIM_CHANNEL_1); //Start the channel in interrupt mode HAL_TIM_PWM_Start(&htim1, TIM_CHANNEL_4); //Start this channel with no interruptI tested with a scope that these few lines work: while (1) {  /* USER CODE END WHILE */  HAL_Delay(1000);  TIM1->CCR4 = 1500;  TIM1->CCR1 = 1500;  HAL_Delay(1000);  TIM1->CCR4 = 500;  TIM1->CCR1 = 500;  /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ }My question is how (what syntax ) do I write the code I want to put in the interrupt r

Hi there,I've downloaded the SPC5-CRYP-LIB from the ST website. It says that it should be supported for the whole SPC5xx family, with hardware support only enabled for the SPC560B/C MCU. I am trying to import this plugin for the SPC560B54, but SPCStudio is saying it is incompatible with my project. When I try to import it anyway, it fails to compile. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here?

Posted on August 03, 2017 at 09:53Hi ! I'm currently looking for the best sleep mode for my device.I'm not able to find any information on Datasheets or Application Notes on the capability of wake-up a STM32L476RG via USB Bus on the Shutdown Mode.I know that we can do this wake up in Stop 0/1 Mode, but the shutdown mode would be perfect for me as I only need 5 GPIOs + USB to wake-up my device.Do you have any information about this ? Do you know if i can or cannot wake-up my STM32L476RG with USB during the Shutdown mode ?Thanks you for reading me.#shutdown-mode #usb-wake-up #stm32l476rg #stm32l4-usb

Says in the title, where can i find the flag to remove warnings treated as errors

Hello, I'm trying to evaluate the STM32MP1 using a STM32MP157C-DK2. I followed this getting started guide and successfully flashed the board, even though the archive downloaded has a slightly different name than mentioned in the guide. I set the boot switches to the on position and reset the board, which is showing the UBoot splash screen. But afterwards it goes dark, no Linux splash screen, Weston desktop or GTK demo launcher to be seen anywhere. The system itselfs seems to work correctly, as pressing the reset button with minicom connect shows (see log attached). The big LED next to the ST-LINK is constantly red. A small LED close by flashes two times blue, then pauses, followed by another two flashes...What am I missing here? Shouldn't the board boot to the GTK demo launcher automatically? Best Regards,Matt

Hi, I'm evaluating the STM8 UART emulation library (STSW-STM8051). I'm using the STM8SVLDISCOVERY board. Instead of the TIM3 I'm using the TIM2 timer since the TIM3 is not available on the STM8S003K3: I configured the project to communicate at a baudrate of 19200bps 8N1. The library uses both UPDATE and CAPTURE/COMPARE interrupts from the same timer. It seems that if the two interrupt flags are set in the same time only one ISR is serviced; it seems that only one interrupt from the same peripheral is serviced while the second one is not kept in queue. I have tried also with different priorities without success. The problem seems to arise if the second interrupt flag is set while the first ISR is evaluating the TIMx->SR1 register and clearing the flag (therefore if the compare register value is near the autoreload value). In the errata this issue is not described. Can you please tell me what can I do to solve the problem? This problem must be solved to allow for full-duplex communicat

Hello,In secured boot getting started it is said:"Download the SB SFU project software to the target without starting a debug session(Security protections managed by SBSFU forbid JTAG connection as it is interpreted as anexternal attack)"Does it mean it should be done using IAR: Project->Download->Downloading File ?Isn't it still using JTAG even if it is not yet debug ?Thanks, ranran

I am using an STM32F303CB with HAL/LL version 1.10.0It seems that TIM2 is not available in the drivers for this part as RCC_CFGR3_TIM2SW is not defined. Is this a fault with the driver library or a configuration from Cube? Thanks

Hi,I use a STM32L052 and I would like to use DAC as VREF for comparator 2 (PB6) but without connecting DAC1 to PA4. It is possible ?Because under STMCubeMX, when I set DAC as VREF for COMP2, it set automatically PA4 as DAC_OUT1 but in my application, PA4 is used for something else.So is it possible to set DAC1 as VREF for COMP2 only in intern ?

I'm having trouble understanding this from the datasheet and reference. What peripherals are allowable targets for DMA1 memory-to-peripheral transfers? Thanks, Best Regards, DavePS: I tried to use a stream in DMA1 to write to a DMA control register, and it fails...

Hi, is ST planning to release new version of the X-NUCLEO-IKS01A2 sensor expansion board with the newest recently released sensors? I would like to interface LSM6DSO with NUCLEO-L4. Tks

Has anyone implemented their own firm ware. I can so far successfully retrieve the EPC number from a tag, however I'm struggling to get a valid RN16 and CRC combination when using the REQ_RN command. I would like to do this to be able to access the TID memory.

I have successfully read an epc tag, my next step is to issue the the Req_RN command. I hav set the RX lenthg register ready to receive 4 bytes of data and issue the Req_RN command. OIn the occasion that I do receive the expected 4 bytes of data they never seem to be a matching RN and CRC16. Can any one help?

I can see in the example firmware that the TID memory is read in multiple stages, with the first 8 bytes read first. In my application I need only these first 8 bytes, so following a very similar process I can read these bytes. I am working with a CRC on reception. So I am expecting to receive 12 bytes comprising of the first 8 bytes of TID memory (which I do receive) + 2 bytes of indicating the tag Handle, which I also receive and finally two bytes of CRC, however when running a Genibus check the CRC fails. Am I incorrect in what I am expecting from the read TID memory command? Would the CRC only be returned after a complete read of the TID memory? The actual hex codes are shown below. On completion I receive: 0xE2 0x00 0x38 0x11 0x60 0x00 0x60 0x15 0x31 0x1f 0xF0 0x3Awhich when checking with https://crccalc.com/ would return 0xc3 0x50 using Genibus.

Hi, Want to be able to flash the target device( an STM32F446) using a propritary CAN interface. EI not use the bootloader default CAN flashing method. As i understand it I must first make a IAP binary and flash using the bootloader by SWD. To then add the application I MUST use the IAP interface over CAN. Is this correct? Or is there a method to flash both IAP and application over SWD at the same time? And have them both in the same project in Atollic? Also can I do a adress jump to the IAP from the application? Hope anyone can give me some pointers.

Everywhere else (both in this DS and RM0090 rev.17) it's PIXCLK.(In an older CubeMX it was wrong, too, but I don't use CubeMX so won't download current to check).JW
