The STM32L100/151/152/162 Reference Manual says that there is a BRR (bit reset register) for Category 3 devices, when, in fact, there isn't. This is a known problem, please see:https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X00009XkWybSAF/brr-register-does-not-work-for-stm32l100rc-and-stm32l152rc-boardsandhttps://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000APZncVSQT/stm32l151rc-gpio-brr-register-missingBut in addition to the documentation error, the driver code also doesn't work because it tries to access this non-existent register to clear GPIO bits. This from the stm32l1xx_ll_gpio.h code generated by STM32Cube MCU Package for STM32L1 Series, v1.8.1, starting on line 934:__STATIC_INLINE void LL_GPIO_ResetOutputPin(GPIO_TypeDef *GPIOx, uint32_t PinMask) { #if defined(GPIO_BRR_BR_0) WRITE_REG(GPIOx->BRR, PinMask); #else WRITE_REG(GPIOx->BSRR, (PinMask << 16)); #endif /* GPIO_BRR_BR_0 */ }A user can fix the issue by simply using the BSRR register instead of the BRR register. I am attempting to encode some images as a video file on the STM32F769NIHx chip. A fairly short, but lossless video file with a very low framerate. I have not found any good resources on how to do so. The framerate will be about 5fps so I don't think that I will need very much compression. It just needs to be accepted by popular/widely available videoplayers as a valid video format. I have already attempted using FFmpeg, but the documentation online does not provide a way to transfer FFmpeg source code to a bare-metal application. I should say that I am doing all of this in embedded C. The closest solution that I have found is in the following link: https://www.jonolick.com/home/mpeg-video-writer. However, this format is still too lossy and fast (24fps at the slowest).

In UM1691 rev2, paragraph 4.5.1 "Sanity check of the board with firmware for the GUI", it says "Connect the board to a 5 V - 45 V DC power supply". So I connected it to a 6V PSU, but the board does work properly. What is wrong?NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. Hi, I'm trying to test the openAMP_TTY_echo from STM32Cube_FW_MP1_V1.0.1. It compiles ok. I try the installation from : https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157C-DK2/Develop_on_Arm%C2%AE_Cortex%C2%AE-M4/Modify,_rebuild_and_reload_a_firmware#but I fail to get the info from the "debugger" in [Upload and start the firmware].It wants "OpenOCD Setup" but there is no info on the wiki about that. So it loads the firmware ok but then failed with gdb/OpenOCD... My openAMP_TTY.cfg is empty!ThanksAnthony Harivel

Hi,I am using the OCxRef-clear + comparator to do cycle-by-cycle current regulation and it is working as intended, limiting the delivered duty-cycle despite the value set in software, but I also need to know in software if this is happening and know the real duty cycle delivered to the load, how can I do this?My first thought was to set another channel of the same timer as input compare and link it to the same comparator output, but none of the other channels of this timer are linked to the comparator, so I thought in 3 other possible ways, each one of them not ideal for a reason:Enable comparator interrupt and get the timer value by software, but this would not work properly as it depends on the interrupt latency and priorityConnect the comparator GPIO output to the IC GPIO input, but this solution is ugly and is prone to hardware failureRun a second timer in parallel synced with the first timer (seems to be possible thru timer sync mechanisms) and use its IC channel linked to the com

From STM32H7 libraries v1.3.2 to v1.4.0 UART_FLAG_RTOF was removed from stm32h7xx_hal_uart.h.Any good reason why?I am just gonna use USART_ISR_RTOF instead but the question is why would you do that? Was it intended?

Hello, all!I'm looking into the STM32MP15 family. It seems to offer me everything I need, but I'm not sure about consumption, and can't understand the data sheet fully in this regard. For minimal consumption that will still allow the MPU to continue working normally (without boot) after wake, it seems I need the standby with RAM retention.1. Is this really the most efficient mode for this?2. What is the consumption in this mode, in a way that will allow it to be woken by RTC and pin interrupt? It seems it's 90uA, but I'm not sure.3. How long does waking from standby mode take?4. Does waking from standby mode allow the MPU yo continue working as if after sleep, with all volatile memory data it had previously? Thanks!

Dear Sir,I am working with customer using TouchGFX.Because I am BSP porting engineer, I don't know TouchGFX application in detail. My customer is tring to implement custom Slider widget with number indicator of slider image. But, there is flicker problem whenever slider is moved. Please could you check that where is this problem ?Best Regards,JunBeom Kim / EmbedCoreTech.

Hello,I'm trying to generate some sample data in the model. My problem is, it is a little bit tricky for a beginner - so I want to ask if there is any guide in text written, would be awesome, because videos are very quick.=======At the moment I have added a "Circle Process" in TouchGFX and a button which calls a virtual function. Now what are the exact steps to iterate the value of the circle process (by tick - not by pressing the button :) )?Some sample code would also be great, like:1) Edit ScreenView.hpppublic: ... virtual void setvalue(); ...2) Edit ScreenView.cpp... void MainView::setvalue() { presenter->updatevalue(circleProgress1.getValue()); } ...3) Edit ScreenPresenter.hpp... public: void updatevalue(int value); ...4) Edit ScreenPresenter.cpp5) Edit Model.hpp6) Edit Model.cpp7) Edit ModelListener.hpp I have seen the PoolDemo, and I'm trying to use this code, but it would be much easier seeing the code for each file in one text, for me.thank you for your help! :)best regards,

I recently switched an older project to CubeMX 5.1.0 and the F3 firmware package V1.10.0. We used freeRTOS and tim3 as the timebase source as tim1 and tim2 are already in use. The program does not pass the initial timebase configuration any more and the call of HAL_TIM_IRQHandler(&htim3) in the TIM3_IRQHandler(void) has disappeared. When using any other timer the call is generated and it works if I manually add it in the user code section, could it be that this is a bug in the code generation?

Hi, i have donwload the STM32CubeExpansion_NFC5_V1.3.0 but in the RFAL implementation there aren't the function rfalNfvPollerSelect and rfalNfvPollerReadSingleBlock (rfal_nfcv.c), i tried to use the old version ( rfalNfvSelect and rfalNfvReadSingleBlock) but dosn't work.I read this old post: https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X00009XkWNXSA3/st25r3911b-calls-to-readwrite-block-after-successful-inventoryget-idbut there isn't any link to the new version of the library. Can anyone give me the updated library link or can share thediff/patch ?Where can I find STEVAL-SMARTAG1 reading examples with the X-NUCLEO-NFC05A1?ThanksFrancesco

Hi, I'm Hill-Rom employee and working on UI software. On the device LCD screen if leaving a screen idle for a while, sometime will observe some random lines showing on screen. Not every time idling on the same screen can reproduce the issue but when the problem comes it's always the same lines appearing on the screen. Can you help me find out the problem?

I have insert a images in .png format in one screen. When the simulator run, i'm able to see all the screen but it freeze when it try to load the one with the image. The project is configured in 1bpp and I have edited the image to convert it in black/white without grayscale.

My goal is to have a timer that triggers an interrupt at 1kHz and for that to call a few lines of code that starts a HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA call (or possibly more than one on different SPI buses). Once the SPI calls are made, it enters a while loop waiting for the SPI communication to finish, then it interprets the data received.I've set up my timer (TIM3) and SPI (SPI1) peripheral using STM32CubeMX. The SPI bus and its DMA channel interrupts have NVIC priorities of 0 while the timer interrupt priority is set to 10. I added this code to the TIM3_IRQHandler function created in the STM32f4xx_it.c file by CubeMX.void TIM3_IRQHandler(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM3_IRQn 0 */   imu_Tx[0] = FirstData_Reg | SPIReadMask; while (completedSPI1 != 1);   //imu0 start HAL_GPIO_WritePin(ICM0.CS_Port, ICM0.CS_Pin, GPIO_PIN_RESET); completedSPI1 = 0; HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA(&hspi1, imu_Tx, imu0_reading, 15);   //imu0 end while (completedSPI1 != 1); imu_reading_to_

Hey,I configured the stm32h743 to transfer data with sai2 and read the same data with sai1. Sai2 is in IT mode and works fine (checked it with a logic analyzer).The SAI2 is totally working in IT mode, but when I put it in DMA mode i only receive 0's. Yes, i set the input buffer in D2, its address is 0x30000000 in the SRAM1.the interrupts all work good, no tranfer errors ect.This in my SAI init code:__HAL_SAI_RESET_HANDLE_STATE(&SaiInputHandle);   SaiInputHandle.Instance = SAI1_Block_A; SaiInputHandle.Init.AudioMode = SAI_MODESLAVE_RX; SaiInputHandle.Init.Synchro = SAI_ASYNCHRONOUS; SaiInputHandle.Init.OutputDrive = SAI_OUTPUTDRIVE_DISABLE; SaiInputHandle.Init.NoDivider = SAI_MASTERDIVIDER_DISABLE; SaiInputHandle.Init.FIFOThreshold = SAI_FIFOTHRESHOLD_HF; //SaiInputHandle.Init.AudioFrequency = AUDIO_FREQUENCY; SaiInputHandle.Init.Protocol = SAI_FREE_PROTOCOL; SaiInputHandle.Init.DataSize = SAI_DATASIZE_32; SaiInputHandle.Init.FirstBit = SAI_FIRSTBIT_MSB; SaiInputHand

Posted on August 17, 2017 at 13:48Hello,    I tried the example 'FDCAN_Com_polling' on STM32H743I-EVAL, it worked like it should be.Then I separated the example code into TX part and RX part, made one of my STM32H743I-EVAL board as TX and another as RX, but the RX did not work, it never received anything and the HAL_FDCAN_GetRxFifoFillLevel always get 0.All jumpers and SBs on the EVAL board were removed or connected following the instructions on the EVAL's reference manual, and I checked the waveform on the RX side and it seems correct. The filter setting should be good as well because the TX side can receive its own loop back frame by using the same filter settings.Any hint what went wrong or which part should check next? Thanks in advance.#fdcan #stm32h7

Hello, I'm testing the st-example-image-qt, but when I launch the Qt examples works extremely slow, looks like Qt doesn't use the hardware acceleration.Any clue about it?Best RegardsEduard

I am developing a project with LTDC and StemWin Multi-layer. When I add second layer in LTDC, an option of layer number in GRAPHICS section becomes alerting some strange stuff (if layer_num == 1 - no alert at all). Nevertheless if i generate project - everything seems to work fine. What's the matter?Pic. related:

HelloI'm using TouchGFX 4.10 with a custom board (STM32F767) and I have a problem, where old value/content will be displayed when updating another value on screen.Procedure in which the problem occurs:I have two textareas on screen (e.g. TextA and TextB)The initial values are: TextA: "ABC" / TextB: "DEF"In General: The values will be updated through Model->Presenter->View / Touch is not used(Step1) Updating TextA to "123" and invalidating TextAText on Screen -> TextA: "123" / TextB: "DEF"(Step 2) Updating TextB to "456" and invalidating TextBText on Screen -> TextA: "ABC" / TextB: "456"TextA is wrong!(Step3) Updating TextB to "789" and invalidating TextBText on Screen -> TextA "123" / TextB: "789"TextA and TextB are correct When I repeat Step 2 then I have the wrong values againI don't know where the problem is, but I assume it has something to do with the doublebuffering. When I invalidate both values in every steps, it works correctly. But this can/shoul

Is it possible to animate standard objects (e.g. box, circle, shapes, containers, etc.) with EasingEquations? For example take a circle with a small radius and a thin line and zoom it to a bigger radius and thick line smoothly in 1 second?

For X-NUCLEO-53L0A1, P-NUCLEO-IKA02A1 and X-NUCLEO-IHM03A1, we find libraries, but they don't work. Could you kindly help us? Thank you.

Hey.I just got the STLink V3SET today. I've connected it via usb to my MBP "15 running 10.14.4 (18E226) and the device is not recognized as an USB device. The PWR led is bright green, but COM is not lid I think (I only see a tiny green & red dot).lsbusb reports no new device. Subsequently, I can not use nor upgrade the device via st provided firmware upgrade tool, or use it in stcube programmer. Am I missing something to get this running on macOS ? I used a V2 before which worked just fine.Best,Raphael

Posted on July 05, 2018 at 00:09I am using an X-NUCLEO-IHM03A1 board (powerstep01) to control a stepper motor (17HS24-0644S) speed. When I use the command 'Run (DIR, SPD)' over SPI interface, I observed that the speed in step/s is not exactly the same as requested. (e.g requested 200 step/s, result is 198.4 step/s)I have noticed that by changing slightly the voltage value of the powerstep01 pin VDDIO the speed of the motor changes as well for the same requested value. For example:VDD = 3.3V speed = 198.4 step/s,VDD = 3.4V gives 196 step/sVDD = 3.2V = 201.6 step/sMy application requires to control the speed of several stepper motors precisely and currently this is an issue since the speed varies according to VDD and it is very sensitive.Does anyone knows about this issue, is there a workaround Note: I used the library from https://os.mbed.com/teams/ST/code/IHM03A1_ExampleFor3Motors/with the same initialization parameters.Datasheet: https://www.st.c
