Solved

I am attempting to integrate a bootloader and an application into my stm32f7 mcu. I understand this has been done numerous times previously, so apologies for probably small questions leading to larger ones.I am running into issues on the jump function between my bootloader (located at 0x08000000) to the application firmware (located at 0x0800FA00). The bootloader occupies two sectors of memory, and the firmware the remaining 8, in single bank memory mode. When i attempt to jump between the bootloader and the application, I would assume I would jump to memory address 0x0800FA00 + 4, which is the offset from the top of the application, but that does not seem to be successful. Prior to this jump, I map the interrupt vector to 0x0800FA00. (code snippet below)//Jump function void Bootloader_JumpToApplication(void) { pFunction appEntry; uint32_t appStack;   appStack = (uint32_t) *((__IO uint32_t *) APPLICATION_ADDRESS); appEntry = (pFunction) *(__IO uint32_t *) (APPLICATION_ADDRESS

Hi,I have small bitmap in a window, which normally I would like it appear to be transparent (invisible) but when a flag is set to become fully opaque, when the flag is cleared go back to being fully transparent.Kind RegardsMikeZ

Hi,I don't get why I can't set the border thickness/color directly when creating the BoxWithBorder object._boxWithBorder3(50, 50, touchgfx::Color::getColorFrom24BitRGB(150, 150, 250), touchgfx::Color::getColorFrom24BitRGB(0, 0, 0), 5,50)Indeed, it doesn't work and draw a box without a border! All the other params work, hence I can change its size, background color, transparency, but impossible to get it to be drawn with a border! Calling the setBorderSize function after the object has been created works just fine. An idea? Thanks.

We are trying to use STM32CubeProgrammer on Windows computers running JDK 11 and higher. Is this not supported by CubeProgrammer? It does not appear that the program contains the typical BIN file that we would edit to use a different version of Java installed on the machine. Is there any other option than having to use JDK8 as the main Java install?

@Eleon BORLINI Greetings of the Day Currently I am using LSM6DSM as my IMU. Now in this sensor I need to write my own function to obtain the quaternions and then based on that obtain the roll, pitch and yaw of the system. The question that I have is , does ST provide an IMU that already has on board motion processing that can calculate and return the quaternions ? Thank you

I'm trying to register a P-L496G-CELL01 Discovery Kit in the Concierge portal at www.stm32-c2c.com. The problem is that the portal doesn't seem to recognise that I click the confirmation email. Each time I try to register the new board, it just asks me to resend/confirm my email address. This is the first time I use the portal and have created a new account. I have tried several times, cleared cookies and restarted my PC.  Is there a solution to this?

I have bootloader initial position 0x08000000 and IAP 0x08004000 now.First, I form bootloader jump to IAP code and it works fine. But my jump back to bootloader will stop.Maybe I have a lot of IAP function enable. So I want to ask, besides __disable_irq() close NVIC, and any other way to deinit other functions?Because I use __disable_irq(),but it seem isn't effect.when i back to bootloader code of GPIO inti funaction , it already haven't stop.

I just received version 2 of a board I designed. It has two STM32F427 on it. One a 144 pin used for main processing and the second a 100 pin used to control IO.The 100 pin MCU uses Ports B, D, E (all as outputs) to control outputs.Version 2 of the board is all hand assembled and soldered by an assembly house in China. I've had firmware running on Version 1 for weeks so I know the software is not causing the hard fault. The board is drawing about 200 ma more than it should which would indicate an issue somewhere.I debug the operation of the 100 pin MCU (output ports) to jump to the hard fault vector when any of the pins associated with ports B, D, E are set to being an output.I've looked hard at the board and parts under a microscope and do not see any solder bridges.I do see a lot (about .25v) of noise/hi freq oscillation on both VCAP pins. The voltage is clean on the VCAP pins of the 144 pin CPU.What would noise or oscillation on either of the VCAP pins suggest as being an issue? Both c

We have an existing embedded application with older GUI which is being ported to TGFX. For keeping the old logic, we want to display a blocking message box and wait for user response (button click) in a widget callback(GUI button callback). The problem is that the tick is ignored during executing the callback and screen stop rendering. Is there anyway to keep the screen alive during executing widget callback? Thanks in advance.

Dear all,how can the Cortex-M4 MCU (bare metal or RTOS) exchange data fast with the A7-Linux system? Can the M4 access the DDR RAM of the Linux system, like the PRU on the Beaglebone can do? In the datasheet, there is a connection between the AHB bus and the AXI bus, maked as asynchronous, so it looks like there is a DMA channel for this.I could not find an example code or project, showing a fast data exchange between the memories of M4 and A7. Does ST provide an example for this? Thanks,Michael

void Screen1View::setupScreen() { FILE* f = fopen("C:\\Temp\\image.jpg", "rb"); uint16_t width, height; JPEGFileLoader::getJPEGDimensions(f, width, height); BitmapId bmpId; //create dynamic bitmap matching file dimensions and in format matching LCD if (HAL::lcd().bitDepth() == 16) { bmpId = Bitmap::dynamicBitmapCreate(width, height, Bitmap::RGB565); } else { bmpId = Bitmap::dynamicBitmapCreate(width, height, Bitmap::RGB888); } if (bmpId != BITMAP_INVALID) { //Succesfully created, load JPEG file to bitmap JPEGFileLoader::readJPEGFile(Bitmap(bmpId), f, lineBuffer); } //Image shall show the loaded bitmap image.setBitmap(Bitmap(bmpId)); //Position image and add to View image.setXY(20, 20); add(image); Screen1ViewBase::setupScreen(); }

So why this issue in the STM32L1 discovery board.I also uploaded images regarding the problem in the board.

Hi,I want to measure a static object and approximate tilt angle with accelerometer only data. With 303AGR e-compass I can easily configure the filters so a low pass filter can be set up in no time. With LSM6DSL I am a bit lost on where or what filter I have to setup in order to achieve the same (a extremely low-pass filter, below 1Hz).Thanks!

Hello. I am evaluating STEF01 for a PSU application. I am trying to calculate the values for RH using the formula provided in the datasheet. But my calculation result for RH is not in line with chart given in figure 6 (page 8 of the datasheet). Referencing the chart, for a value of RL of 10K, and a required UVLO of 12V (=Von), I would expect RH around 60kOhm. But my calculation is far apart from expected value:FromRH = 1 / { [ (1/RL) + (1/333) / (Von-1) ] - [ 1/4500 ] } I get 16,703 Ohms with Von=12 and RL=10k:1 / { [(1/10000) + (1/333) / (12-1)] - [1/4500] } = 16,703Very obviously my calculation is wrong, but why? Please advise, thank you.NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. Hi,When using the 'setAction' function of the class Button, why can't I pass a callback object taking one more parameter than just the "const touchgfx::AbstractButtonContainer&"?Here's my CallBack object with its corresponding handler function:Callback<NumpadBis, const touchgfx::AbstractButtonContainer&, const int> _keyPressed; void keyPressedHandler(const touchgfx::AbstractButtonContainer& src, const int); And this doesn't work:aKey->setAction(_keyPressed);While it works just fine if I remove the "int" param.

Hi, I am learning how to use Uart and created a simple example project where I sent 'hello world'. i then use RealTerm to view this message. i have generated this project using CubeMX and it works however i flashed the board once and after that i cannot debug it again, although the board is still working and i can connect to realterm to view the messages. i get the error 'Error in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: No device found on target.'i connected another nucleo board to the computer and flashed that. the same thing happened where after its flashed it become unresponsive in the IDE. I am using Atollic TrueStudio as my IDE. STM32F103RBKind Regards,Mike

Hi Community, I installed CubeIDE on two Windows 10 computers. In both cases there is no Intellisense. Does it have to enabled explicitly?

On the Nucleo-H743ZI board, I'm trying to configure TIM3 with a 10 us period. With the internal clock source at 200MHz, I would expect these parameters to create a 10 us TIM3 interrupt:htim3.Instance = TIM3; htim3.Init.Prescaler = 200; htim3.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim3.Init.Period = 10; htim3.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; htim3.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORELOAD_PRELOAD_ENABLE; sClockSourceConfig.ClockSource = TIM_CLOCKSOURCE_INTERNALBut my TIM3 interrupt is occurring every 11us instead. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Dear,For the first time, i use an external SDRAM with the FMC peripheral of the STM32F446.I succeeded to describe a in the linker script to place specific data in this section.BUT this section is present in the output file (.hex) when I build my code. Because it's a section with just uninitialized data, this section must not be in the output file.Maybe I did something wrong ???In linker script :XRAM1 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0xC0000000, LENGTH = 1920K   /* External RAM section */ .xram1 : { *(.xram1*); } >XRAM1In header Cpp file :class SDRAM { public: .... __attribute__((section(".xram2"))) static u8 sData[10][10][10][10]; .... };  I use Atollic as IDE with gcc.

Can someone point me in the direction where I can find a document giving the I2C register locations to control the VL53L0X. I am trying to read out ranges using an FPGA and the standard I2C bus but all I have found is the device address is 0x52.Thanks

Hi,I'm not sure how I should go about designing a widget class that can be reused in various projects? Say I want to create a keyboard class (container?) that can be easily imported in all my projects that need one, how should design it?Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to add a custom GATT service to a HID peripheral. I'm using a BlueNRG-2 and following the BLE_HID_Peripheral example. In the hidService_Type ther are two fileds that look like they might be used for this. They are includedServiceEnabled and includedService. I think I need to set includedServiceEnabled to true. However, I'm not sure what includedService should be. The type for this field is includSer_Type. This type ahs three fields:uuid - which only holds 16-bits. How can I provide the 128 bits needed for a custom service?start_handle - where do I get this?stop_handle - where do I get this? Are service handles assigned in order such that there is a first and last?If I have one service, would start_handle and stop_handle be the same? Also, should I add the custom service and characteristics using aci_gatt_add_service and aci_gatt_add_char just prior to the call to hidAddServices?

both ports set to CDC using internal PHYHeap set to 0x2000VBus sensing not utilized, but that should only affect 1 port, not both.using Cube_MX on this new project. Is there example code for H7 using USB ?

Hi, I'm using the STM32F334K8T6 andI'm using EAGLE 9 to create PCBs.https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/STM32F334K8T6/497-14953-5-ND/4989175?WT.z_slp_buy=stm_stm32f3Does ST provide PCB libraries which I can use on EAGLE?Where can I get them?Since TI provides their drawing using Ultra Liberian,https://webench.ti.com/cad/cad.cgiI was curious whether ST provides the drawing as well.I wish to get the STM32 MCU libraries and use the footprints, please.

I have a problem with this sensor configured for 2g scale and interrupt on INT1 for click detection. If I set threshold register in a range 5 to 7 I receive a lot of interrupts as soon as the sensor is slightly inclined on X or Y axis. Please see below I2C dump of registers configured.NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us.
