HelloI was wondering about nubering in q15 fixed pointI am guessing that in 1.15, 1 (msb) is responsible for sign and 15 bits are for magnitude(I could be wrong)However what does 9.7 mean ? does it mean 9 bits are for whole numbers and 7 bits represent fraction ?

Hi Martin,I just updated my huge project from release 4.12.0 to 4.13.0 (skipped 4.13.) and generated the sources after a few minor changes. Now Keil can not find the source files for the images anymore, because TouchGFX now placed an "image_" ahead in the file names.I have 360 images !!! I would have to eliminate all images from the project and add the new ones in place. This is actually a time consuming job! Is there a way to get the files created as the prevois version ???Note: I can't use the project file which is created by TouchGFX, because I have created my job long ago with one of the first versions and without CubeMX support and had to set up my project manually - you might remember this. Thanks for any suggestions. Gaby.

I am designing a board using STM32MP1, STPMIC1A and LPDDR2. I want to use 3.3V VDD not 1.8V as most of peripherals are 3.3V. I am following example in AN5031 Figure 32 LPDDR2 VDD1 is powered from LDO3 in bypass mode which is powered by VDD 1.8V. I plan to change BUCK3 settings to output VDD 3.3V, use BUCK 4 to output 1.8V to power LDO3 in bypass mode which power LPDDR2 VDD1. I can't use BUCK directly to power LPDDR2 VDD1 as BUCK4 is rank 2 and turn on automatically with default 3.3V. Is that the correct/recommended way to do it ?Thanks in advance

Hello,I am developing a simple GUI for a custom board based STM32H750 MCU.My requirements are the following:Both application code/data and touchGFX images/fonts are stored in and external QSPI (0x90000000) The entire application must be executed in the internal SRAM (0x24000000)For these reasons I modified the ExtMem_Boot example to devolop a bootloader that copy only the application and data in SRAM and jump in APP_ADDRESS 0x24000000:MEMORY{ DTCMRAM  (xrw)  : ORIGIN = 0x20000000,  LENGTH = 128K ITCMRAM  (xrw)  : ORIGIN = 0x00000000,  LENGTH = 64K RAM   (xrw)  : ORIGIN = 0x24000000,  LENGTH = 256K  RAMFB   (xrw)  : ORIGIN = 0xD0000000,  LENGTH = 768K OSPI_DATA    (xrw)  : ORIGIN = 0x90040000,  LENGTH = 64M - 256K}/* Sections */SECTIONS{  /* The startup code into "FLASH" Rom type memory */ .is

Hi,Please tell me whether the virtual Uart take any hardware resoure (eg: actual UART port, PIN).Does the virtual Uart support the baudrate change? If it support, what maximum speed it can support? The virtual UART demo example in "STM32Cube_FW_MP1_V1.2.0/Projects/STM32MP157C-DK2/Applications/OpenAMP/OpenAMP_TTY_echo"Rgds,QiZhang

Hi,I used CubeMX 5.6.1 and then I tried to generate code for project with '&' sign in it, and generation stucked in Copying library files. I restarted CubeMX several times, but nothing changed so I deleted '&' sign and everything goes fine. I tried again by adding '&' and generation of code stuck. Is this some kind of bug in the CubeMX? I'm using Windows 10.Thanks in advance,Nenad

These is a 1Gb NOR FLASH with 2 die structure(MT25TL01GBBB8ESF-0AAT).It request 8 IOs so that I connect both BK1 and BK2 of H7 MCU.This above connection correct?

Hey Everyone.Im new to the embedded systems and TouchGFX concepts. I've made a few applications with STM32F429-DISCO and STM32H750B-Dk. I've followed the instructions on the documantary website and youtube tutorials. Now my problem is i want to make my own custom board with STM32H750XB but i dont want to use any external ram or flash while doing it.(Also my custom board has the same specs with onboard screen) My main approach was to disable all the FMC and QuadSPI configurations on CUBEMX, choose pins for LTDC from Schematics of STM32H750B-DK, enable DMA2D, choose CMSIS_V2, and set all the necessary parameters of TouchGFX (I was also using singlebuffer). Then i imported the CUBEMX project to CUBEIDE. When imported, i used .part file to make the GUI but the screen size doesnt seem to fit my configs(configs was 480x272, the GUI designer recognised it as 800x480.) . Can these all be related with FMC QSPI adjustments? If not was my approach correct for custom board?

Hi all, I am trying to upgrade the kernel on a board running STM32MP15 BSP v1.2.0. From what I have seen, the kernel from BSP 2.0.0 is not compatible with the tf-a and u-boot used in previous BSP versions; I assume that this is due to a change in the way clocks/resets are managed (commit), which introduces a dependency on SCMI services provided by tf-a.On the other hand I see that a stm32mp15-no-scmi.dtsi file was introduced (commit) to "revert" this SCMI dependency. If I am correct, using this dtsi file in my device tree should make it possible to upgrade the kernel only, and still use the "old" tf-a and uboot from BSP 1.2.0. However I tried this and it does not seem to work (kernel hangs immediately after the "Starting kernel ..." message).Do I need something else? What am I missing?Thank you,Guillermo

I wonder whether it is feasible to use 3D GPU on stm32MP1 instead of DMA2D?

Hello,How do I use the S25R95 on an IRQ/Callback basis? What I have found so far is that there are three callbacks (UpperLayer, PreTxRx, PostTxRx) you can use for the ST25R95, but these are only available during the regular polling/running process.I am looking for a way to have the ST25R95 initiate so that it runs in a silent mode always checking if there is an NFC device near. And when there is, it sends a signal via a pin like IRQ_OUT.I currently have the situation where I'm required to continuously poll the device to see if there is an active device, but I want my main program not to have to do that. I want it to be checking for a, probably GPIO IRQ input and then respond to that using the functions to read information from the NFC Device. Is this possible, and if so, what would be the solution to do so?Kind regards,Joey

Hi,I used the STM32CubeIde version 1.4.Below is the procedure create "stm32mp157c-dk2.dts ":1) onpen STM32CubeIde2) Click "File->New->STM32 Project" to create a project "stm32mp157c-dk2"3)Click "Board Selector" to select board "STM32MP157C-DK2"4)Configure project name "stm32mp157c-dk2"5) press "Yes" to "initialize all peripherals with their default Mode"6)Click "Project->Generate Code" to generate code. The generated device tree file is different from device tree file in "en.SOURCES-stm32mp1-openstlinux-5-4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24.tar.xz".Please advise how i can get the same device tree file. Can you share me with the "*.ioc" file which generated device tree file in the "en.SOURCES-stm32mp1-openstlinux-5-4-dunfell-mp1-20-06-24.tar.xz".Thanks,QiZhang I

High Level Problem Description:STM32F4xx: Produced on STM32F427IIHxWhat happens:When SPI as master, full duplex, 8 bit & ~1MHz clock speed and doing longer transmissions (e.g. 10 - 60 bytes) using interrupts the current implementation in Keil::STM32F4xx_DFP V2.14.0 produces RX overrun error. Why (after investigation):The TX empty interrupt can fire in succession without RX not empty being flagged. This means there is not time to empty the receive register in time to avoid overrun condition. In other words, the silicon implementation does not guarantee interrupt flags/interrupts will respond in time to avoid overrun condition. Proposed conceptual fix (verified):Disable TX empty interrupt after transmit until receiving corresponding data then enable again, unless all data has been received (end of transmission).STM32H7xx: Produced on STM32H743BITxWhat happens:When SPI as master, full duplex, 8 bit & ~1MHz clock speed and doing longer transmissions (e.g. 10 - 60 bytes) using interr

Hello! I'm working with an STM32WB55 development board and I'm trying to take data fairly quickly (every 25 us) so I'm trying to work with the DMA to collect data. Right now, I'm not even collecting actual ADC data, just toggling a GPIO point to get timing figured out. Anyway, found some good examples at DeepBlueEmbedded and have been poking at a few of them trying to get it to do what I want. The problem I'm coming across is I can't seem to get the DMA to autotrigger so i keep having to manually call the void HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback(ADC_HandleTypeDef* hadc)   {   // Conversion Complete & DMA Transfer Complete As Well   HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOC, GPIO_PIN_12);     // Starting DMA takes about 30 us   HAL_ADC_Start_DMA(&hadc1, &AD_RES, 1);   }The problem is the HAL_ADC_START_DMA command takes somewhere between 15-30 us to run and, by the time this is finished, the code calls it again and I have no cpu time to run the main part of my prog

Hi all, how are you?. I'm doing a project with a STM32F103C6 (it has 32KB flash) and I had to activate optimization options to not run out of memory, right now the optimization options is -Og. After activate optimization a function that I have to know the position of a substring and after that I'm trying to use a switch statement that the compiler is killing and obviously I can't but I don't know why.Here are de function definitions:void Selec_Opera(char *ent, uint8_t dim) { volatile uint8_t pos = 0; volatile uint8_t lugar = 0; // uint8_t com[T_COMANDO] = {0}; pos = strindex(comandos, (char *) eComando); for(lugar = 0; T_COMANDO*lugar <= pos; lugar++) { asm("nop"); } switch(lugar) { case 0x01: { lugar++; } break; case 0x02: { lugar++; } break; case 0x03: { lugar++; } break; case 0x04: { lugar++; } break; case 0x05: { lugar++; } break; case 0x06: { lugar++; } break; case 7: { lugar++; } break; default: { lugar = 25; }

MCU Support,I update to 1.4.2 and get a ST remind. See appendix. If I select cancel the update is terminated. Which options should I select? It confuses me because why STM reminds this if it is its software. Does other software come in? Best regards,Adam

Hi, I am facing an problems that I have never seen before with local variables being allocated at the same addresses of global ones. In the attached image I show an example of a local variable with the address of another variable in the STEmwin library (WM_aCHWinLast). The same has already occurred with other global variables, not only with STEmwin. I managed to find some and I was able to solve it by replacing vectors with pointers and allocating their size through customized malloc functions. All STemWin routines work perfectly, only generating the fault in specific executions sequences. The problem seems to be very localized in specific routines, but I don't understand the relationship since the variables are local and should only concern to HEAP memory, which is quite large 0xA000. Other global variables, besides STEwin also appeared with an overlapping address, but these did not generate hardfault. After going through these routines, with overlapping variables, when execu

Hi everyone, I am new to using ARM architecture based microcontrollers and I am having a problem with peripherals and APBs (Advance Peripheral bus). Currently I am using the STM32F429 (NUCLEO-144) board, programming it with the help of the HAL library and the STM32CUBEIDE IDE.The problem is that when I configure timer interrupts to have different time bases I can only use timers that share the same APB, otherwise I can't attend to all interrupts, they seem to block each other.I am using 5 timers, from 2 to 5 which are General Purpose Timers and according to the reference manual they share the same APB (number 1 in this case). It happens that, if I add a timer from another APB2 such as time 9 for example, I can no longer attend to interruptions correctly, I would like to know if you can guide me in solving this problem, which I estimate must be basic, but given my lack of experience it becomes difficult to fix.I am attaching a file in .txt format that saves the content of the main.

I am previously using STM32CubeIde version 1.3.0 and i am able to programme the STWINKT1 development board successfully. while i am debugging suddenly my laptop crashed and when i power on it again now i am getting error. So i uninstall version and download new version 1.4.0 but still i am getting same error.here I attach screen shot of error.I go through some thread and check my debug profile and it is ok the picture of it also uploaded. Can any one help to resolve this issue.I am using windows and board and debugger is ok i tried to programme board from another laptop and its working even if in my laptop i am able to connect to board and erase memory using stlinkV2 utility but issue is with stm32cubeide only

https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeL4/tree/master/Projects/B-L475E-IOT01A/Applications/ProximityHi,I was going through the example of promixity sensor of B-L475E-IOT01A board in the github stm32l4cube repository. i compiled the code and debugged it. After dumping the program into my board and while trying to get the values in hyperterminal I get the following error, HardFault_Handler() at stm32l4xx_it.c:61 0x8000882 . to be noted that I got this error only after I entered the command in my hyperterminal to view the sensor values. Can anyone help me with rectifying this Thanks!!!

Attempting to open the example selector from the main window of STM32CubeMX 6.0.1 results in a spinning wheel and the software remains forever stuck, like it's waiting for something. Its next life, maybe, who knows. That's STM32CubeMX 6.0.1 on Linux. Let me know if you need more information.
