Posted on July 14, 2018 at 01:29Hi,what is the procedure to start the system bootloader in the STM32H743 via software. Even newest AN2606 is not clear on this, since none of the mentioned methods fit the STM32H7 registers etc.What I mean:For the F4 the system memory needs to be remapped to 0x00000000, load MSP from value in address 0x00000000 and then a jump to the address stored in address 0x0000004 is done. This works for an F4.On the F7 (also a Cortex-M7) some option bytes have to be configured correctly and then it is basically MSP from 0x1ff0000 and jump to value of 0x1ff00004.But what is the procedure on the H7? The system memory is located like on the F7 on 0x1ff00000 but it is not readable, and because of that no loading of MSP and reading the correct jump address. There is no system memory remapping bit in the SYSCFG register which is what AN2606 suggests to use, the only exception mentioned is for the F7. I think there is either no way to achieve this on the STM32H7 or anoth

Hello,I am using the TIM2 with the STM32G041J6M6 and I am finding problems while enabling TIM2 using registersWith some code I have initiated the timer as reported below (TIM2 clock is enabled) While debugging I can edit some timer registers (ARR,PSC,CCR,SMCR...) directly in the SFRs tab of STM32IDE but not the CR1 and CR2 registers. If I put this line in my codeTIM2-> CR1|= (1<<0);At the end the TIM2 is not enabled and a mess appears on the corresponding output pin,the GPIOA MODER and RCC IOPAEN are affected and cannot be modified on-the-fly in the SFRs tab anymore.All this behaviour sounds weird to me....Any idea why this can happen?Regards

Dear Sir, We will develop system with VL53L1X. Now we are going to port the driver for our Thread RTOS. There are several sample version at candidates such as STSW-IMG007, STSW-IMG009 , STSW-IMG013 and STSW-IMG032. Could you give me some advice for selecting the sample code? which one is better for our case?best regardsDai Sai

When trying to run MLC.ibynb in the MLC repo (STMems_Machine_Learning_Core/MLC.ipynb at master · STMicroelectronics/STMems_Machine_Learning_Core (github.com)), there is error thrown from the with call stack:generateDecisionTree > printTree > formatTree > genNextLineIndexif (getNodeNum(line) == int(num))ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: ''Clearly the line being passed in is empty. Does this result from there being empty lines in the ARFF files generated by the Unico API? Any help is appreciated.

I am working on a test on the stm32f469i_Discovery board.On the stm32f469i, the MIPI interface operates with the OT8009A LCD. Instead of OT8009A LCDs, it is planning to connect the stm32f469 with other LCDs.The LCD control IC uses the ILI9806E while the KD050FWFIA019.I got the initialization data from LCD provider, and I found out that it's for I2C communication.I think it's data. I2C communication data needs to be changed to the MIPI protocol.I don't know how. If anyone can help me, please give me some advice.

In the following HAL function, RTC ISR register is cleared by "Read/Modify/Write" instruction.Couldn't this cause eventual clearing of the ISR flags which may be raised by RTC periphery between "load" AND "store" ?If somebody can confirm that such situation may happen, wouldn't be safer solution to rather write all other bits to "1", since ISR register has only of read-only or clear-only bits or reserved bits?AL_StatusTypeDef HAL_RTC_WaitForSynchro(RTC_HandleTypeDef *hrtc) { uint32_t tickstart;   /* Clear RSF flag */ hrtc->Instance->ISR &= (uint32_t)RTC_RSF_MASK;AL_StatusTypeDef HAL_RTC_WaitForSynchro(RTC_HandleTypeDef *hrtc){ uint32_t tickstart; /* Clear RSF flag */ hrtc->Instance->ISR &= (uint32_t)RTC_RSF_MASK;

I have been testing the ADC on my STM32L0 with 12-bit resolution and for some reason, every measurement I take has a 0.048 V offset. I've tried a different supply voltage (from 1.8 V to 3.3 V), but the offset stays there.This offset starts at the first count, when I apply 0 V to the ADC input and read 130 counts (with 1.8 V Vdda) it stays for the whole range.My voltage source is very stable and I've verified my ADC input voltage and the STM32 supply voltage with 3 different accurate pieces of measuring equipment. The board I'm using is a custom PCB, but I only placed the STM32 and some passive components to get it to function (coupling capacitors and reset pull-up).I also tested multiple boards with different configurations and I always get this offset voltage. I outputed Vrefint and measured it, and I got 1.225 V (specified is 1.224 V) so the ADC reference seems fine too. I was wondering if someone has a suggestion on the possible cause of this offset error? I've been lookin

I was trying to install OpenSTLinux distribution. I am using ubuntu 20.04 for my host machine. Firstly I init repo with this command:repo init -u <LINK FOR GIT ST OE MANIFEST > -b refs/tags/openstlinux-5.15-yocto-kirkstone-mp1-v22.06.15 then when I try to repo sync. Dear ST Community,as part of a project to capture analog microphone data, I would like to use my own callback funtions instead of hal callbacks. For this I register my ADC callbacks with the HAL function HAL_ADC_RegisterCallback as follows:/*************** ADC Section Begin ********************/ hadc1.Instance = ADC1; ... hadc1.Init.EOCSelection = ADC_EOC_SINGLE_CONV;   /* Register TIM Callbacks */ HAL_ADC_RegisterCallback( &hadc1, HAL_ADC_MSPINIT_CB_ID, Microphone_ADC_MspInit ); HAL_ADC_RegisterCallback( &hadc1, HAL_ADC_MSPDEINIT_CB_ID, Microphone_ADC_MspDeInit ); HAL_ADC_RegisterCallback( &hadc1, HAL_ADC_CONVERSION_COMPLETE_CB_ID, Microphone_ADC_ConvCpltCallback ); HAL_ADC_RegisterCallback( &hadc1, HAL_ADC_CONVERSION_HALF_CB_ID, Microphone_ADC_ConvHalfCpltCallback ); HAL_ADC_RegisterCallback( &hadc1, HAL_ADC_ERROR_CB_ID, Microphone_ADC_ErrorCallback );   status = HAL_ADC_Init( &hadc1 ); if( status != HAL_OK) { _SYSTEM_LOG( "HAL_ADC_Init

I am trying to port some Arduino library to stm32. In Arduino, millis() returns the number of milliseconds since boot. Is there an equivalent function in stm32? I am using stm32f103 MCU.

I have been working F411RE Nucleo board with LL library for quite some time. I found the sample code for SystemClock_Config uses external oscillator as showed below. I wonder if there is any sample for internal oscillator. /* Enable HSE oscillator */ LL_RCC_HSE_EnableBypass(); LL_RCC_HSE_Enable(); while(LL_RCC_HSE_IsReady() != 1) { };   /* Set FLASH latency */ LL_FLASH_SetLatency(LL_FLASH_LATENCY_3);   /* Main PLL configuration and activation */ LL_RCC_PLL_ConfigDomain_SYS(LL_RCC_PLLSOURCE_HSE, LL_RCC_PLLM_DIV_8, 400, LL_RCC_PLLP_DIV_4); LL_RCC_PLL_Enable(); while(LL_RCC_PLL_IsReady() != 1) { };   /* Sysclk activation on the main PLL */ LL_RCC_SetAHBPrescaler(LL_RCC_SYSCLK_DIV_1); LL_RCC_SetSysClkSource(LL_RCC_SYS_CLKSOURCE_PLL); while(LL_RCC_GetSysClkSource() != LL_RCC_SYS_CLKSOURCE_STATUS_PLL) { };   /* Set APB1 & APB2 prescaler */ LL_RCC_SetAPB1Prescaler(LL_RCC_APB1_DIV_2); LL_RCC_SetAPB2Prescaler(LL_RCC_APB2_DIV_1);   /* Set systi

But it is normal to write single blocks continuously (cmd24), but the speed is a little slow. I use FatFs to write multiple blocks (cmd25) to SD card. I can only create a new TXT file, but there is no data in it. And when writing multiple blocks, the SD card always returns BSP_ SD_ Other_ Error, this bothered me for a long time.The procedure is as follows:

Hi,I am using STM32MP153a SOC.Linux kernel version is 5.4.56 (openstlinux-5.4-dunfell-mp1-20-11-12).I would like to generate square signal of 50-200 uS on a certain GPIO every 40 ms using Linux kernel.Also ,at this point I need to read certain registers.What are my options? If there is already an example/application note on the subject,please let me know.I was looking into these options:1)I have already a working timer on my system,which is arm arch timer.It's already generating interrupts ( I can see that number of interrupts is increasing in /proc/interrupts).The question is how do I configure it to generate interrupt every 40 ms and I how do I generate callback to have my registers reading.2)TIM6/TIM12 -STM32 timer.As far as I could see,current examples - pwm,counter,trigger ,does not fit my needs , since they don't have any form of periodic interrupt.PWM example is the closest to what I need - it possibly could generate a signal that I need,but it doesn't have an option to have an

I had powered VPS_TX of ST25R95 on 5V. So, ideally there should be improvement on the magnetic field as per the calculated data using that calculation tool. But I got adverse effect of it. It can't detect the tag, which works fine on 3.3V VPS_TX supply.

I noticed that some ST Cpus support large amounts of RAM. Does this mean that they would run Linux, too. Are there any demo boards and such. Our volumes are 100-400 per year, if we ever start building our own Linux boards.

An example is while( (I2Cx->SR1 & I2C_SR1_ADDR) != I2C_SR1_ADDR)breakpoint on this line means I loop indefinately, breakpoint before and after and it reads ok?I'm using EWARM.

I need to store a password for encryption in otp registers. I configured device tree in tfa:&bsec{ status = "okay"; secure-status = "okay"; enc_pass: enc_pass@0x170 { reg = <0x170 0x10>; st,non-secure-otp; };};&nvmem_layout {    nvmem-cells = <&enc_pass>;    nvmem-cell-names = "enc_pass";};And in uboot and kernel:&bsec{ status = "okay"; enc_pass: enc_pass@0x170 { reg = <0x170 0x10>; st,non-secure-otp; };};NVMEM is configured in kernel defconfig. I can read and write to set otp register in uboot, but i cant read data in linux.I tried this: hexdump -C -v /sys/bus/nvmem/devices/stm32-romem0/nvmemanddd if=/sys/bus/nvmem/devices/stm32-romem0/nvmem of=/tmp/fileAnd i have that error:stm32-romem 5c005000.efuse: Can't read data32 (-5)hexdump: /sys/bus/nvmem/devices/stm32-romem0/nvmem: Input/output error

I want to know what kind of value we fill in this and what affects the AHB Bus please make me understand.const uint8_t AHBPrescTable[16] = {0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9};I tried to find out but only figured out the value of 1 to 9 it is the Prescaler value. and the rest of Zeros why we use it and what it the work of them.

"I'll delete this question once someone answers it, as it is not relevant".Why in second line did some one write ch & 0xFF? ch limits are already 0 to 255 right?

Hi,I am using STM32F413 Nucleo board. I am using MDK5 IDE and HAL libraries. I made an example for reading/writing internal flash based upon a cube project. The idea is to erase interal flash and then to write some data to it. I alreay did some similar porjects but with F0 and F3 series so I am not newbie in that field. However what I am seeing here is that the first time I load application to MCU and run it it won't erase flash. Then I break it, reset and re-run it and it will erase and program everything perfectly. And from this point on it will always work fine. To sumarize. Flash erase is not working only the first time right after I load application into flash. Flash unlock returns HAL_OK while flash erase function returns HAL_ERROR. After I break it, press reset and run it again it will work without a problem (no HAL_ERROR for flash function). I am visualizing data in Memory 1 window where I can see how data is changing.So my code excerpt is as follows:HAL_FLASH_Unlock();
