I've encountered the problem with not enough space on the internal SRAM many times when I've tried to add more view or container in the TouchGFX application.Eventually, I've found that high memory usage has occurred from the 'static FrontendHeap' singleton object when I've analyzed the memory map file.How can I move the 'FrontendHeap' to external memory such as SDRAM?My hardware board specification:STM32F429BI (192KB Internal SRAM, 64KB CCM SRAM )External SDRAM (8MB)Please find the pie chart (attachment image) for more detail about memory usages.Thank you in advance for any answers or any solutions.:smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hi,I designed and tried to use my custom board based on STM32F030R8T6 MCU. But the problem started from beginning.For MCU Flashing I used STM32CubeProgrammer and ST-LINK V2 (STM8 & STM32) dongle. First of all I was trying to connect the board and I've got "No STM32 target found!" Error.Second, after NRST Reset button was pressed (this option I considered on my board) and STM32CubeProgrammer Connect pressing, releasing NRST Reset button I succeeded to connect the MCU.After that, I've erased the chip completely and tried to flash my bin file. But I've got errors reg., Connection to device is lost.There are two errors in the log list: "Unable to read device id from ROM table" and "Unable to get core ID".I thought it was problem with board soldering and used another board. But the same issue was with second board as well.Is there any solution how to rectify the above problem? Did anybody has such issue on custom boards?Thanks in advance.

Hi, i cannot update the STM32IDE firmware. I only get this error after a long time of being stuck in the update process at 36%

I am implementing a low cost custom TouchGFX project using a stm342G071 and an ILI9488 based display. For the ILI9488 driver I need the touchGFX framebuffer in RGB888 format.This works ok if I keep the image data in internal flash but I need to put this data in an external spi flash and cannot work out how to do this. All the tutorials I have found suggest that the external flash needs to be memory mapped but the G071 does not support this.However TouchGFX has example projects for the G071 using the GFX01M2 display module which does use external, non memory mapped, SPI flash. Looking at the ioc configuration for that project I have found that it gives the option of a External Data Reader if the framebuffer is RBG565 but not for any other format.Is there a way of using an external data reader with other formats, eg RGB888? Or is it really the case that low cost solutions are limited to just RGB565 frame buffers?

Hello ST Community,In my application I want to pull up a Battery Latch Pin for a short time in VBAT mode using the integrated RTC Alarm Events.Based on the datasheet of the STM32F722xx STM32F723xx it is described that:When the microcontroller is supplied from VBAT, external interrupts and RTC alarm/events do not exit it from VBAT operation.By pulling up a pin in VBAT state in case of an RTC alarm I want to "manually" exit the VBAT mode by activating the power supply via VDD.According to my research on the RTC, there is no way to trigger an external interrupt to control or trigger a pin via RTC on VBAT only. Is my statement correct so far or is there a way to implement my intention?Best regards

Hi every body, current we have a problem when make compatible between USB2.0 and type C on our devices.We don't want full type C's feature yet. We just wanted our firmware to be compatible with type C cable on some laptop which have only type C connection.So we pulled down 2 CC (CC1 and CC2) pin with 5.1Kohm. It likely work fine if we connected our devices to the laptop directly. But when we use Hub, the laptop doesn't recognize our devices. We looked at some documents, especially on https://www.st.com/resource/en/technical_article/dm00496853-overview-of-usb-type-c-and-power-delivery-technologies-stmicroelectronics.pdf"There are two CC pins in each receptacle, but only one is connected through the cable to establish communication. The other pin can be re-assigned as the VCONN pin for powering electronics in the USB Type-C™ plug of electronically-marked cables."Does that mean, no matter CC1 or CC2, only one CC pin needs to pull down, leave other one not connected? Because we are current

Hi,I have integrated the CLASSB package to my application software. The HAL drivers are bypassed and custom drivers are used.In the safety checks, all the tests are passed except the Clock cross-reference check.Note: I am using default HSI clock for testing invariable and variable memory. In which case does my timer 16 initialization has to be changed ?Kindly help me out resolving this issue.Hoping to hear from the team soon.RegardsArrhenius

Hello,Working on a custom BLE server (peripheral role), I face a trouble exporting the working sources from a Nucleo project (STM32WB55) to a custom board (STM32WB55) project.Everything is working fine on the Nucleo: advertissing, connection, bidirectional communication etc...On the custom board, the BLE master sees the advertissing slave, but there is no way to connect to it. It fails connecting!2 softwares were used on the Master side: ST BLE Toolbox and nRF Connect. Both give same results.The nRF connect show an additional log error 133(0x85): GATT Error.The custom board does not implement LSE crystal. HSE is used instead. I follow this URL but cannot find CFG_BLE_LSE_SOURCE in BLE configuration.(community.st.com/s/article/configuring-stm32wb-for-bluetooth-le-without-an-lse-crystal). I was expecting a trouble from this point, and found several ticket on the knowledge base, but no one have solution:- community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000C3BaK3SQK/migration-from-nucleo-to-my-own-board

Using:CubeMX 6.6.1FW package STM32Cube FW_WL V1.2.0Goal:From an IOC file, pressing generate in CubeMX generates 2 projects, each with their own main file. Each project can be compiled separately, and then joined during debugging (or linking externally), similar to how the hardware semaphore example is.Current behavior:Code is generated as a single project as seen in single-core MCUsThank you

Hello dear ST community,I am working on ST boards for a while. However, this is my first time on community questions, sorry for any mistakes.Facts:CubeIDE 1.16.1STM32F746 Discovery board. TIM1 interrupt enabled and interrupt period is 1MS. (ARR = 21600-1, PSC = 10-1)I change my OUTPUT pins connected to inputs on same board with some delays (delays are between 100 and 1000 ms)Try to see the variables on debug mode after pin changes.There is a state machine working on interrupt routine. Problem:While trying to see variable values, I put breakpoints in while() loop. However, if the interrupt frequency is as high as 1000 Hz, my debug mode stops in breakpoints and when I click resume debug stays in same breakpoint and nothing changes. But when I remove breakpoints and resume, code flows correctly (I can see values changing if I stop run or remove and put debug points). When IT frequency is low as 1, 2, 5... Hz I can see debug stops on breakpoints and resumes.Thoughts:I am thinking that, hig

The background is I am trying to build a pass through or charge through dongle like application. Using a G0 with 2 UCPD ports, port 0 as sink, and port 1 as DRP, using the respective TCPP chipsMy goal is to have the input port 0, get the available PDO's, subtract the power consumed by the device, then pass these adjusted PDO's to the output, port 1, letting the up stream device chose. Once a PDO is selected on port 1, port 0 would also select the corresponding PDOI have a couple questions about implementing this with UCPD on STM. I'm just fumbling around with a test project (no HW yet) but I can't seem to see how one would dynamical set PDO's. Specifically:Can PDO's be set and removed dynamically during run time?What part of the PD code would be the best area to edit / add this functionality ?Cheers

Hi,I'm trying save some data into EEPROM after successful storage of first byte for second byte it goes to hard fault irq. Can anyone help me out from this issuevoid Save_data(float Data) { char Buff[15];unsigned long Address=0x08080000; sprintf(Buff,"%f\n",Data); for(int i=0;i<15;i++) { HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); if(Buff[i] == '\n') { HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAMDATA_BYTE,Address++,'\0'); break; } HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAMDATA_BYTE,Address++,Buff[i]); HAL_FLASH_Lock(); } return; }

Hello Community,I'm currently working with STM32F429ZGT6 and going to fabricate pcbs for that. I also suspect that I may switch to STM32F746ZGT6 in future.So, I want to know will the same design be compatible for F746.Regards,Keshav Aggarwal

I am currently developing a touchgfx GUI for a custom board which is based on the STM32F429-DISCO, therefore I use said board for the fundamental development. While initializing hardware button controll via GPIO_EXTI lines I have run into a strange issue I can workaround for now but not solve. Initially I planned on using GPIOB EXTI lines 12 to 15 (PB12 - PB15) for external buttons. The procedure is based on the tutorials STM32 Graphics: Using “Hardware button is clicked? at Interactions, Part 1 and Part 2. But for some reason EXTI line 14 and 15 do not work on GPIO Port B. I have tried the same EXTI lines on different ports and they are working fine, so I figured it has something to do with Port B but I can't wrap my head around the cause for it.It's not that big of an issue for now as I have a few more pins I can use for said EXTI lines but I would like to know why PB14/15 do not work. So if you have a clue on this I would highly appreciate your help!Callback function for EXTI where

Hi, I'm trying to leverage the capability of lower words to be programmed once to one bit by bit to implement a sort of "forever growing counter", not sure if there is a proper naming for this.In the lower OTP zone, if I understood correctly, word 10 and word 11 are for OEM, does that mean that they are totally free to be used?Best regards,Charles

If I create a STM32 static-lib project there are no linker settings available.Why?Please refer the attached image.
