Hi,I’m working with a custom PCB based on an STM32H743BI and an external MT25TL01G memory device. To manage the data I’m using FileX + LevelX. I’m able to create the media, create directories, create files, write to them, and read them without issues. However, I’m running into a problem when trying to read files after a reset. After formatting the media with:fx_media_format(&pFileManagerDesc->fxFileMedia, fx_stm32_levelx_nor_driver, (VOID *)LX_NOR_QSPI_DRIVER_ID, (UCHAR *) mediaBuffer, sizeof(mediaBuffer), QSPI_VOLUME_NAME, QSPI_NUMBER_OF_FATS, 32, QSPI_HIDDEN_SECTORS, ((LX_STM32_QSPI_FLASH_SIZE - LX_STM32_QSPI_SECTOR_SIZE) / QSPI_SECTOR_SIZE), QSPI_SECTOR_SIZE, 8, 1, 1); I open the media and try to read from it, but I always the error FX_NO_FOUND trying to open the file. This doesn’t happen if I create a file first. I’m not sure if I’m missing a step before reading the media after formatting.I’m not performing any erase operation because I have: LX_S

Hello, unlike the STM32MP157F-DK2 the STM32MP257F-DK is not equipped with an Touch/LCD.Is it possible to use an identical/similar LCD with the STM32MP257F-DK (that means: are the appropriate connections on the board)?Marc

Hi,I am using the steval-esc001v1 and the A2212 1000 KV BLDC Motor with the motor parameters are, The ESC input range is 1060–1860 µs. I arm the ESC at 1000 µs and then increase the input to 1062 µs, at which point the motor starts running. After startup, the RPM and current gradually increase without any change in the input signal. Within few seconds it reaches 4000 rpm (approx), then motor suddenly jerks and then settles at a minimum speed of around 1000 RPM. Sometimes, after this jerk, the motor stops completely.I would appreciate help with maintaining the motor speed at 1000 RPM after startup.Additionally, the motor turns 1 rotation during the power-up of the STEVAL-ESC001V1. Is there a way to prevent this initial turn at power-up?Best regards,Santhosh.

I'm using "STM32CubeIDE for Visual Studio Code" on Ubuntu 22.04.  I have a situation where I'm making a driver for a chip where it very much benefits me to make the driver into a class and instantiate several instances of it.Generally speaking, what are the best practices here, if I still want to use the CubeMX code generation? At the moment, here's what I'm doing:Add `CXX` to the languages in the `./CMakeLists.txt` file.  Also add the driver.cpp file to the target_sources() directive in `./CmakeLists.txt`. Change the file extension of main.c to main.cppChange the ./cmake/stm32cubemx/CMakeLists.txt to reference the main.cpp fileI was planning on automating this with a pre and post script which would do a `mv main.cpp main.c` and `mv main.c main.cpp`. And then also changing the generated CMakeLists.txt to reference the main.cpp.However, it seems that a simple bash script isn't being run.  Is there a less hacky way to do this?Does the Before Code Generation and Af

Hi everyone,I am working on a TouchGFX project using the STM32H750B-DK Discovery Board. The project works perfectly fine (UI is shown, everything runs smooth). The Issue:As soon as I enable a Timer in CubeMX (e.g., TIM15 or TIM3 in Input Capture mode) and regenerate the code, the display stays white after flashing. The application seems to crash or hang completely during initialization.Observation:Even if I disable the Timer in CubeMX again and regenerate the code, the display remains white. It seems that the first modification permanently breaks the project configuration (likely LTDC, QSPI, or MPU settings), and I have to restore a backup to get it working again.Has anyone experienced this behavior where simply touching the configuration breaks the board initialization permanently? Thanks for any help!

Hello everyone, I'm seeking advice on video playback implementation using TouchGFX 4.25 with a Riverdi RVT121HVSFWN00 display (12.1" LCD with STM32H7 MCU). **Current working setup:**- TouchGFX version: 4.25- Display: Riverdi RVT121HVSFWN00- Current video configuration: 480x272 resolution- FFmpeg command that works:ffmpeg -i video2.mp4 -s 480x272 -vcodec mjpeg -q:v 1 -pix_fmt yuv420p -color_range 1 -strict -1 -an output.aviThis works perfectly with the Video widget alongside other UI elements (backgrounds, buttons, etc.) When I try to increase the video resolution to 800x800 pixels, I only get a black screen. No video is displayed. **What I've tried:**1. Modified FFmpeg command for 800x800:ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf "scale=800:800:force_original_aspect_ratio=decrease,pad=800:800:(ow-iw)/2:(oh-ih)/2" \-c:v libxvid -qscale:v 5 -c:a libmp3lame -b:a 128k output.avi```2. Also tried various combinations with `mjpeg` codec and different pixel formats **My questions:**1. Are th

I installed stsw-link009 on my pc so I could use the STLinkv3. The PC did not see the STLink-v3. I then installed STM32Cubeprogrammer thinking that would fix the stlink driver issue but when I look under devices USB in the device manager I can not see the stlinkv3 anywhere and the STM32CubeProgrammer doesn't see it either. The same stlinkv3 works on other pcs. Since I can't see it on my pc I can't right click it to uninstall the driver so I am not sure what to do next.

Hi all.I tried to upgrade my onboard ST-Link V3 (STM32U5G9j-DK2).I use STM32CubeProgrammer for MAC V2.21.The upgrade process breaks with this message:"ST-Link device lost when exiting upgrade mode"In this situationthe COM-LED red is ON,the COM-LED yellow is BLINKING,the PWR-LED is OFF.How can I reactivate the onboard ST-LINK V3 in this situation?Kind regardsT3-Uwe

Searching through the forum it seems like there are tens of posts regarding this topic. I read many of them, but I struggle to find a solution that applies to me.First of, I use an STM32H743VIT.My goal: Use ADC1 and ADC2, one channel each. The two ADCs should be tied together. The whole conversion should be triggered by TIM4 update event and the data should be moved via DMA.What works: If I just use TIM4 and two DMA streams that move the data for each ADC individually, it works. As soon as I try to use the dual mode, it does nothing. When I'm in dual mode I have confirmed that the timer is still running. TIM4->CNT is changing. I've spent almost two hours with the debugger in the SFR and checked the registers. I'm not sure if I'm close to the issue, but there is something that seems suspicious based on the research I did: DMA1->S0NDTR->NDT does not change, indicating that the DMA stream does nothing. However ADC1->CR->ADSTART is at 0x1, indicating that it tries to do somet

Hello AllI'm working in STMCubeIDE 2.0.0 Windows.I have downloaded STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.28.0 package and saved it here: C:\Users\marin\STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.28.0I want to use an example and build a project from the example. This LCD example: C:\Users\marin\STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.28.0\Projects\STM32F429I-Discovery\Applications\Display\LTDC_Paint.I don't want to change the original example code, I want to put the example into a new folder and do my changes there.I saw using "Copy to workspace" when importing is a mess and don't compile:  No rule to make target 'C:/Middlewares/ST/STM32_USB_Host_Library/Core/Src/usbh_core.c' Do I have to copy the whole directory to a new location?  C:\Users\marin\STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.28.0\Projects\STM32F429I-Discovery\Applications\Display\LTDC_Paint. Please show me a way to copy the example code (Only LTDC_Paint project) to a new location and successfully compile. Ma

As my project has morphed I have started from a STM32F103, moved up to a G431, then a F446.With a few #defines and tweaks I have a shared main app code base with identical project structures for each of the processor types (that makes it easy to switch between MCU boards as when whilst doing code tests). All theseSTM32CubeIDE projects have Runtime library = Reduced C, and "do not use default libraries" is ticked. All build fine. All used CubeMX to generate the appropriate sources etc.., all have 99.9% identical CubeIDE project structures. As a stepping stone to a STM32F723 I am bodging up a port to an STM32H723, but so far have been unsuccessful in getting it to link. It seems to be having a problem related to the c library area.(.text._getpid_r+0x0): undefined reference to `_getpid'/home/main/.eclipse/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.rcp.product_2.0.0_1934254364_linux_gtk_x86_64/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.14.3.rel1.linux64_1.0.0.202510151430/tools/bin/../l

Hi We have a old PCBA design with a TDK IMU sensor. When I look at the footprint and pinout it seems like it actually drop-in-replaceable and we should need no new PCBA design, only change the BOM list and replace the TDK sensor with LSM6DSV320XBut the LSM6DSV320X datasheet says that pin 10 and pin 11:Leave pin electrically unconnected and soldered to PCB.But in our design thay are connected to GND signal ground. What would happen if we replace it, will the LSM6DSV320X not work if the pins 10 and 11 are grounded? krrØystein

CubeProgrammer doesn't work with OpenJFX 11, but OpenJFX 8 cannot handle HiDPI screen, which makes Cube Programmer almost illegible.Since you were able to release several new versions in the past months, could you please also update to Java 11, or fix the HiDPI issues yourself?

Isn't TrustZone something which started to be only since Cortex-M33?JW

Where to start...I have mave made a bootloader (done this before), which is placed in the low end of the flash memory. The application is in the subsequent flash. My board has a USB port and a DIP switch for forcing the BOOT input pin high. When I flip the DIP switch on, and power the board, I can connect STM32CubeProgrammer to the internal DFU bootloader via the USB port. I can also upload my application through the USB port. But when I try to upload my own bootloader, it fails. This is the output from STM32CubeProgrammer:However, if I connect an ST-LINK programmer to the board, I can upload the very same file with no issues. Output from STM32CubeProgrammer:Clearly, something starts to go wrong at "Not flash Memory: No erase done"Just now, I upgraded STM32CubeProgrammer to the latest version (2.21.0), but this made no difference. But why does it work with the ST-LINK programmer, and not through the USB port? And why can I upload the application through the USB port, but not the bootload

I am new to ThreadX. I have had experience with FreeRTOS generated with CubeMX.However, I have been starting over repeatedly with CubeMX. Just trying to create a base project with Nucleo-F767Zi.I need to find some documentation for starting this process. I am missing something. Thanks,Greg

I've been trying for days to find a MIPI CSI-2 thermal camera for use with the STM32N6570-dk.I even looked in the STM store.I even found a company that seems to have one, but their communication system doesn't accept any of my emails.Does anyone have any suggestions to help me?Thank you.

Hi,I haven’t used SWO functionality before, but I now need it to stream real-time data.I’m using VS Code with the STM32CubeIDE extension, but I haven’t found any options to configure and display real-time data (via SWO) in a VS Code window. How can this be done?If this isn’t possible in VS Code, what alternatives would you recommend? Ideally, I’d like to output both text messages and real-time numeric data, with the data automatically plotted on a chart. What is the best way to achieve this?Thank you

Using STM32TRUSTEE-SM framework, the non-secure application is built by the project.py script which in turn callsSTM32TrustedPackageCreator_CLI.exe -pb SM_Code_Image_bin.xmlto generate the application .bin file in MCUboot format. The xml file has <Param> <Name>Security Counter</Name> <Value>auto</Value> <Type>Data</Type> <Command>-s</Command> <Hidden>1</Hidden> <Default>auto</Default> </Param>It is my understanding that with this setting, an incrementing counter should be placed in the image header's ih_ver.iv_build_num field. But this field stays 0 no matter what I put under <Value>, auto or direct number. There is a command "-s" which according to the documentation would be passed on to the imgtool executable, which, however, is described as thisand therefore would have nothing to do with any counter.Could anybody shed some light on it, please? I am using the latest version 2.20.

Hi, I am struggling with TIM2 to restart its CNT from zero without using hal. I am using nucleo-f446 TIM2 clock frequency is 21MHz (no prescaler, 1/4clock division) CNT set for upcounting. I want to use TIM2 to write a simple us_delay function, so I need to restart its CNT  whenever us_delay is called. No matter what I do, I can't make it work, here is the code I am using: TMR2_Start = 1; //start counter TMR2_URS = 1; //Only counter overflow/underflow sets UIF bit TMR2_UDIS = 1; //disable update event generation TIM2->ARR = 2100; //set 100us delay (tim2 clock frequency = 21MHz) TMR2_UDIS = 0; //enable update event generation TMR2_UG = 0x1; //restart counter while (TMR2_UIF == 0){ //wait until TMR2_UIF is set } I put a breakpoint right before while loop is executed, I can see that CNT is enabled, URS set, delay value loaded to ARR. However CNT is not reset to zero, it has a random value, sometimes as high as 0x1A9C, plus the UIF and the Capture/Compare flags are all set for unkn

Heyho, just found that the N6 has gigabit ethernet - which might help me staying away from the monstrous MPUs... :D Is there kinda compatibility list between the STM32 families for the peripherals? ethernet interface, surely different HW concerning GbE vs 100M, but maybe the registers / descriptors work basically the same? CANFD and the SAIs? OCTOSPI / XSPI with memory-mapped HyperRam?  the (partly) more simple peripherals like ADC, timers, UART? Merci!

Hi, I'm using STM32F407 TIM1 channel 1 to measure the frequency of a square wave. The result is not accurate. For example, when input frequency is 1000.0Hz, the result is around 1006Hz. Input frequency has been verified by an oscilloscope, with probe attaching directly to STM32 pin. My ioc configuration:1. APB2 peripheral clock frequency is 42MHz, APB2 timer clock frequency is 84MHz. (in the datasheet, TIM1 connects to APB2)2. Pin PE9 is configured as TIM1_CH13. TIM1_CH1 uses Input Capture Direct mode4. Prescaler=1 (so TIM1 frequency=84/(1+1)=42MHz)5. Counter mode is Up, Counter Period is 65535. auto-reload preload is Enable6. A DMA connects to TIM1. DMA Request is TIM1_CH1 to capture TIM1->CCR1's value My code:#include "main.h" #include <assert.h> #include <stdint.h> #include <stdlib.h> TIM_HandleTypeDef htim1; DMA_HandleTypeDef hdma_tim1_ch1; #define ARRAY_LEN(a) (sizeof(a) / sizeof(a[0])) #define TIM_FREQ 42000000 // TIM1 frequency is 42MHz // g_timD

We have a board with an STM32H7S3, using STiROT and OEMuROT to run our own application. The application runs in place from external flash, and uses external RAM for data. The process has proven extremely challenging, but we have been able to get the application to run...up to the point where it needs to initialise a peripheral which uses a PLL-dependent clock.OEMuROT does some clock initialisation, but we need to change some of those settings, including turning on additional PLLs.I've tried adding clock setup code to the app (originally generated by CubeMX), but it fails because you can’t change PLL settings while they’re running. So I added a call to the HAL function to reset the clocks first – but that also doesn’t work because we’re running from the external flash at this point, which relies on a PLL!I then tried moving the clock setup code into the bootloader – in the code which runs at the end of proceedings, or at the start – but they also failed. This code has to run from internal
