Hello, While using the Nucleo-F446ZE, I observed that pin PA1 remains at approximately 2.6 V during reset, even when an external pull-down resistor is applied. On this development board, PA1 can be configured as the RMII Reference Clock. However, I have removed SB13, so this function should be disconnected and no longer influence the pin. Given that no internal or external circuitry should be driving this pin and considering that an external pull-down resistor is present I would expect PA1 to be held at 0 V during reset. Why the pin is not pulled low in this condition?
In the "Debug Configurations" window (or at least that is the only place I have verified it so far), when scrolling down to access the options at the bottom, the mouse pointer might accidentally hover over a combo box. If you continue scrolling, the combo box cycles through its options down to the last value before the main window continues to scroll. This can cause (and has caused me) quite a few headaches while debugging one of my projects.I believe the correct approach would be to disable this scrolling behavior for combo boxes to prevent accidental changes.Best regards!
Hello,I have a few questions regarding image and audio formats on STM32U5.For graphics with TouchGFX, I see that PNG is usually used. However, in some MCU documentation it is recommended to use JPEG. Also, when I try to add a JPEG image directly in TouchGFX Designer, it does not work.Which format is preferable between PNG and JPEG for TouchGFX?Why is JPEG recommended in some MCU documentation? Is JPEG intended only for dynamic loading with software or hardware decoding? What is the recommended way to use JPEG images with TouchGFX, if possible?Regarding audio on STM32U5, which audio format is recommended such as WAV, MP3, AAC or other? Is there a specific library recommended for audio playback on STM32U5?Is there an optimized solution provided by ST?Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi,I would like to program the STM32F091 with the internal bootloader via UART (AN2606).My special case is that I have to do the programming not from a PC, it's a another embedded system that will control the programming of the STM32F091.So I'm looking for source code (C or C++) that I could migrate in my embedded system?Does this exist? Thanks
It's been asked before, but the answer has been, "it's not possible as it is not supported on ARM based devices"; eg,https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeprogrammer-mcus/installing-stm32cubeprogrammer-on-raspberry-pi/m-p/303881/highlight/true#M4329https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeprogrammer-mpus/how-to-install-stm32cubeprogrammer-on-raspbian/m-p/89242/highlight/true#M281https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeprogrammer-mcus/installing-stm32cubeprogrammer-on-raspberry-pi/td-p/303876So, is there any plan to make an STM32CubeProgrammer which will run on an ARM-based Linux Host?It could be quite useful for making a small, portable, standalone programmer ...
Hi, Our product uses 2 x STM32WB55 MCUs, where one as Server/Coordinator and the other one as Client/Router for Zigbee. However, our customer prefer to use customized PAN ID or Extended PAN ID so that more controllable and traceable by their application software later. Below is the setup of the Server/Coordinator and Client/Router in my firmware (modify based on sample code "Zigbee_OnOff_Server_Coord & Zigbee_OnOff_Client_Router"). ** Server/Coordinator :startupControl = ZbStartTypeForm;config.panId = 0x0001; // range from 0x0001 to 0xfffeconfig.extendedPanId = 0x00001; // incremental from 0x01 onwards ** Client/Router:startupControl = ZbStartTypeRejoin;config.panId = 0x0001; // range from 0x0001 to 0xfffeconfig.extendedPanId = 0x00001; // incremental from 0x01 onwards Questions:1. May I know the configuration above is enough and valid to do so?2. What are the steps needed or I missed out in order to use customized PAN ID or extended PAN I
hello ST Community!I'm trying to connect via UART without USB ST-LINK to the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q for debugging from the STM32CubeIDE environment, but I can't connect. What settings do I need to make in the STM32CubeIDE environment to debug via UART?I tried connecting via UART from the STM32CubeProgrammer environment to simply read flash memory, but it won't connect. What settings do I need to make in the STM32CubeIDE environment to debug via UART without USB ST_LINK? Hello - I have a product I am commercially developing for a company - an industrial sensor system - STYM32G474 x 8 - using them for their very fast ADC - all good so far. I am using a SPI bus to get all the data back to as Linux SBC (pi CM5 for now - might change next year - needs 2 cameras and NVME).I would like to update all the STM32G474 over UART (for now) then over to SPI for production - using the raspberry pi cm5.Is there an open source C++ / python program that can do this from ST? - something like the old "https://github.com/stm32duino/stm32flash" but supports the newer chips? perhaps OpenOCD would work but that is even more connectors etc.
We've been succesfully using stm32flash in the past to flash our STM32 MCU that are attached to Raspberry Pi servers (no desktop or X). As we moved on to STM32G0 it seems that stm32flash is no longer working and we are forced to use STM32CubeProg to flash our firmware. Is it possible to install STM32CubeProg on a) ARM such as RPI, b) server with no desktop? To begin with, the installation instructions require the installation of OpenJFX which is not relevant (nor possible, in lieu of X) in this case, we intend to use only the CLI interface through scripts that perform the flashing. Then, trying to run the installation script on the RPI fails since the provided installation binary is for x86.
Hi, I would like to know when samples and kits for the new STM32H5E4/5E5 will be available.I already asked my local distributor this question, but they didn't know the answer. Ari
I'd like to use a STM32 Nucleo from my raspberry pi (raspian 64 bit ARM).From my x86 PC I use this https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stm32cubeprog.html#st-get-software and download the linux version of the tools: this works. The same version doesn't work on raspberry pi as it's arm64 based: I get an " cannot execute binary file: Exec format error" error. I found no version of stm32cubeprog for raspberry pi arm on the STM web site (I tried macos arm version but get the same error than when setting up the linux version of the tool). Is there a way to get stm32cubeprog to work on raspberry pi (raspian 64 bit ARM) ? How and where to get binaries?

Hi,I am at the beginner/beginning stages trying to pick up STM32 ecosystem involving touchGFX and a display board STM32H7S78-DK. For now I would like to interact a touch button on screen to turn on an LED.Could I get guidance on the overall workflow if it is correct:1) touchGFX - generate UI and generate code2) open up STM32CubeIDE and import touchGFX generated .cprojects and other supporting files3) edit .ioc file to set LED pin (PO1) as output (active-low). save and generate code4) stm32CubeIDE -> build and run -> LED PO1 turns on but my display goes blankover at touchGFX when I try to regenerate code it states [generate code failure] Could I get some guidance thanks.
Hi,1. can we interface directly ST4SIM-200S with LTE modem? 2. how we will integrate service provider like airtel/jio please share me any readable document that how it works with cellular network.
Just posting this incase it helps someone with this problem that I encountered recently.I just update to new windows 11 laptop so I started going through the laborious process of installing all my tools including the latest STM32Cube programmer v2.22. Figured this would be a good time to update everything since I'm installing everything fresh anyway. The issue I encountered is that v2.22 will connect and program the STM32 MCUs just fine but if I try to run the Serial Wire Viewer SWV I get no print outs. I tried a lot of things like reinstalling windows drivers and reinstalling the software but none of that worked, slowing clocks down and other stuff. In the end I removed v2.22 and installed v2.20 and that fixed the issue immediately. #bug-report
Hello,TouchGFX seems to have some sort of a “bug”, where in PORTRAIT orientation the text will glitch with some weird white lines, unless there is an image in the item-tree situated ABOVE text items. It doesn’t have to be any image in particular, but MUST be an image. If there isn't any image added, then every text element is glitched the moment I rotate to PORTRAIT:touchgfx::HAL::getInstance()->setDisplayOrientation(isPortrait ? touchgfx::ORIENTATION_PORTRAIT : touchgfx::ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE);The glitched text looks as such (see the white weird lines corrupting the text):This is my item tree in TouchGFX Designer (I also tried removing the background but the white lines remained):Then, if I add any kind of image, any text area under that image in the designer stack-up, it will be displayed without glitches and any text area placed above will glitch as such (Note, the XY location in the screen does not affect this, only the stack-up arrangement!):This is the stack-up to produce such
I am using a custom PCB design with a 480x800 pixel RGB input LCD display. I am driving the display via the LTDC peripheral. When I change the default colors, the color on the screen changes accordingly, which indicates that there is no apparent hardware issue with driving the LCD.However, when I try to display a simple text on the screen using TouchGFX, the system enters the DMA2D_XferErrorCallback function due to a DMA2D error. Because of this, the text cannot be rendered on the display.Could you please explain the possible reasons for this DMA2D transfer error and what might be causing it? best regardsCelil Bayrakdar
Hi, Currently I face problem that TouchGFX 4.26.0 use a lot of PC RAM up to 9GB RAM Project info: Resolution 480x800 Number of screen 26 Number of custom container 82 Support language: 5 Typographies: 25 With the same design for resolution 272x480 use up to 3GB RAM How can I reduce number of RAM usage? Thanks, Phat
Hello ST Community,I'm trying to connect via UART instead of ST_LINK to the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q, but it just won't connect.First, I connect the 3.3V pin to BOOT0, and it activates in bootloader mode. Then, I click "Connect" in the STM32CubeProgrammer environment, and I get this error:The UART's RX and TX (it's a USB SERIAL CH340) are connected to the Arduino pin PD5 and PD6 (USART2) of the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q. Pin GND are also connected correctly. The settings on the STM32CubeProgrammer are as shown in the photo:Why isn't it connecting, or is there something wrong?thanks for supports
There have been great improvements to TouchGFX Designer and the build process. It now cleanly allows integration into the STM32CubeIDE project structure. The problem is that even though you can provide a project name and the output will be placed in a folder with that name, the .IOC file always has the same name as every other project made with the same device. My workflow from the Designer, to CubeMX to CubeIDE is painless. Generate code, then allow CubeMX to open the project and it's imported into CubeIDE. The first project is great. If you go back to Designer and create a different project with the same device, the process breaks down. You'll have the same project as the last project as far as CubeIDE is concerned. Now if you create a new workspace for each project, you can get all of your projects imported albeit you have to switch workspaces. You can at least name them, so you know what project you're working on. No
Hello everyone, I’m working on a custom version of the FP-SNS-DATALOG2 firmware and attempting to integrate a new sensor, LSM6DSV320X, which is available on the STEVAL-SensorTile.Box Pro but not on the STEVAL-STWINBX1. To add support for this sensor, I performed the following changes: Added Drivers/BSP/Components/lsm6dsv320x/lsm6dsv320x_reg.c/.h Integrated corresponding PnPL + App Model .c/.h files Added that sensor task Modified: DatalogAppTask.c/.h App.c/.h sysdebug_conf.h SensorManager_conf.h HardwareDetect.c/.h Updated existing DTM(Device Template Model) from stdatalog-pysdk pnpl module(FP-SNS-DATALOG2-9.json) to include the new sensor Removed ism6hg256x from the build With these changes, I’m able to start logging using a custom device template, and the sensor appears to work initially. However, the system becomes unreliable after a reset. Main Issue The board operates correctly until it is reset. After reset, I encounter multiple faults, including: HardFaults Bus faults
I am using the STM32L433 MCU and both the HID and VCP interfaces are not working even though the DFU is.I am simply using the STM32CubeMX software to generate a standard default USB Setup but I keep getting the same Windows USB Error "USB Device Not Recognised" which is the "Device Descriptor request failed".My hardware is a custom design and believe that I have the correct differential impedance or the DFU would not have worked. VBUS is at 3.3V (<4V)D+/D- traces > 2 inches but differential impedance has been matched to 90 Ohms using Altium.I have a 12MHZ Crystal, the MCU can run Crystal-less.USB is 48MHz but runs from RC, also used PLLSA1 from HSE.STM32CubeIDE v2.1.1MX_USB_DEVICE_Init() called. If the DFU is working then why not the other USB Interfaces?
Hello,I'm stalling with an issue with Optee on a custom board with 256 MB of ram and an STM32MP135D.The environment was working with the DK (MP135F and 512M ram).I followed the guide for the configuration with 256 MB of ram (https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_configure_a_256MB_DDR_mapping_from_STM32_MPU_Distribution_Package), however it panics as soon as optee starts.Am I missing something or do you have some hints?Thank you NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP135D Rev.Y NOTICE: Model: STMicroelectronics custom STM32CubeMX board - openstlinux-6.6-yocto-scarthgap-mpu-v24.11.06 ERROR: nvmem node board_id not found INFO: PMIC version = 0x21 WARNING: VDD unknown WARNING: stm32_rng_init: No RNG found in device tree. Hi everyone,I’m currently working on a camera preview pipeline on the STM32MP257F-DK using the Sony IMX335 (MIPI CSI-2) sensor. One important point is that STM32MP2 uses a media-controller-based camera architecture (DCMIPP + CSI subdevices). Because of this, Qt Multimedia cannot directly detect the MIPI camera as a standard /dev/videoX capture device. For that reason, I am using libcamera as the capture backend. It correctly handles the media graph configuration internally and exposes a usable video stream to GStreamer, which makes camera streaming stable and reliable. The functional pipeline is working. However, the goal is to display the live feed inside a Qt6 QML application with proper GPU acceleration, and this is where I am facing a major performance bottleneck: CPU usage is very high during preview, while the Vivante GPU remains mostly idle.I’d really appreciate guidance from anyone who has implemented a zero-copy GPU camera pipeline on STM32MP2.Platform OverviewBoard:
