Posted on July 11, 2014 at 11:28HI, I'm developing a device based on the BlueNRG. In my project I need to work with multiple slaves, ie the BlueNRF is in the CENTRAL mode. I use bluenrg_6_3 image (MODE 3)Now I have the following problem:1. if I use the command ''HCI_LE_SET_SCAN_ENABLE'' (for scanning addresses and names), after connecting at least one slave, stop coming SCAN RESPONSES. And I can not find and connect to the remaining devices.2. When I use the command ''aci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc'' to search for new devices, 10 seconds after the command, connected slaves are disconnected. This is log of BlueNRG v1.5.011:50:39.471 BLUEHCI_GAP_CREATE_CONNECTION11:50:39.486 HCI_COMMAND_STATUS11:50:39.667 EVT_BLUE_GAP_PROCEDURE_COMPLETE11:50:39.671 HCI_LE_META11:51:43.497 BLUEHCI_GAP_START_GEN_DISC_PROC11:51:43.513 HCI_COMMAND_STATUS11:51:43.569 EVT_BLUE_GAP_DEVICE_FOUND11:51:53.713 EVT_BLUE_GAP_PROCEDURE_COMPLETE11:51:53.862 HCI_DISCONNECTION_COMPLETE
Posted on September 17, 2014 at 13:24Hello, I'm wondering if there is some possibility that BlueNRG (which has established connection - slave role) will produce non-connectable advertising (same as device C at Bluetooth 4.0 core spec. Vol1, Part A, 4.1.2)? After sending ''LE Read Supported States'' command, I get result (0x00000000130000FF) which tells us (according to Bluetooth 4.0 core spec. Vol2, Part E, 7.8.27 ) that Non-connectable Advertising State and Slave Role combination is not supported Thanks for any advice. BR Matej #advertising #bluenrg
Posted on October 28, 2014 at 11:21Hi,I have custom designed board with CR95 + STM32F103. It almost copied from MB1054A demo board. I use libraries and API form ST: lib_CR95HF.c, lib_iso14443A.c and drv_CR95HF.cI wrote small programm that initializes CR95, then wait for tag event, like it was in demo programm. When ISO14443A_IsPresent() returns success, I do ISO14443A_SelectSequence and it returns success to. I see the UID and SACK byte. Then I try to send RATS frame, and it allways returns 87 00. I did all same requests to demo kit, and it was success result. PPS request was OK too on demo kit, unlike my board. So, I guess I didn't do some necessary actions... can anyone help me? #cr95hf-rf-stm32
Posted on November 13, 2014 at 21:46Back in version 140128, the documentation for dynamic web pages for the output demo (sending messages to the micro over the serial port) used test.cgi to shoot values out the serial port.Recently I updated to 140805 and test.cgi is gone, but output.cgi exists. But when I use output.cgi in the way that test.cgi was used in the past, it paints a demo page that then has to be filled out (again) before the new submit button sends the data to the serial port. So, what cgi scripts are under the hood and how do you use them?thanks.
Posted on October 16, 2014 at 09:07I started up on SPIRIT1 dk, development kit. I read on net that 6lowpan/contiki is ported on to stm32l+SPIRIT1, and ST promotes that. But however I'm not able to find downloadable contiki spirit port anywhere. Could anybody please tell me if contiki port for spirit1 dk is available? Or ST guys here can send it. Thanks and regards, Vamsi #contiki-spirit1
Posted on October 15, 2014 at 23:36Is it possible / practical to reprogram a Spirit1 USB Dongle (STEVAL-IDS001V5) to operate within the band 921-929MHz (which is available for general use at 1W in New Zealand)? If so what would be the approach, hardware/software needed? Views on this would be appreciated. Best wishes, Ron.
Posted on October 08, 2014 at 15:52Hello DevelopersIn document “Spirit1_presentation_ST_Days.pdf“ and “Spirit1_datasheet.pdf? transition time between different states /operating modes are calculated using 26 MHz and 52 MHz Xtal. So, please inform me how I can calculate these values for 48 Xtal. Moreover, kindly tell me time for which controller stay on Ready and Lock State, when these states are used as transient states with 48 Mhz Xtal. Regards Saurabh Jain
Posted on September 24, 2014 at 13:18Hello How many packets can the BlueNRG send in a single connection event? I need this information to estimate the possible throughput. Thanks!
Posted on August 02, 2014 at 18:07Hello,after connection establishment BLE spec suggests/allows to change connection parameters based on the actual requirement. E.g. connect with slow interval for normal operation, but after some time when needed for sending lot of data, use a much smaller interval. The BLUENRG api gives the function aci_l2cap_connection_parameter_update_request(...) . Calling this function is working fine (most of the times) for updating the connection parameters. However, in case there is some other traffic (e.g. from security manager) when using this function it causes an interruption and the connection is dead and will time out (I'm using BLUENRG as peripheral). So is there some hint / synchronization which allows me to call this function securely?Maik
Posted on August 02, 2014 at 17:45Hello,there is one parameter in aci_gatt_add_serv() which needs clarification: max_attr_recordsLooking at the documentation and the sample code (the comment there suggest that even the st programer of the sample code was confused) does not give an answer to fully understand this parameter.Right now I have to use trial and error to find a working value. When looking at the parameter name it suggest that it is the maximum number of attribute records. However it looks like you have to double the actual amount of attribute records of the service and add 2 or 3 to get the correct number. Using lower numbers will result in a wrong service announcement and a non working device.tBleStatusaci_gatt_add_serv(tHalUint8service_uuid_type,consttHalUint8*service_uuid,tHalUint8service_type,tHalUint8max_attr_records,tHalUint16*serviceHandle);Please give a calculation example for this parameter. Thanks,Maik

Posted on August 21, 2014 at 21:42Where can I get information on how to configure the AFC for optimal results? There is likely a trade-off for longer/shorter preambles. What about the difference between AFC_SLICER_CORRECTION and AFC_2ND_IF_CORRECTION for example? #spirit1
Posted on July 31, 2014 at 02:02Hello,I have a couple of questions about the SPBT2632C2A Bluetooth module. First when I set the Class of Device (COD) variable to 040680 the module is no longer discover-able on iOS devices such as an iPad. When the COD variable is at its default setting it is discover-able on iOS devices. So why would changing it to 040680 cause it be no longer discover-able? Is there a setting to fix that or would that require a modification in the firmware? Also I am testing the module with a new Android application and for some reason the application does not find it when the module is paired with the Android tablet. Is there a firmware modification that needs to be made before the module can be used with new applications on Android? And another issue I have with Android is that when the COD is set to 040680 the module's icon is not always a printer. Most of the time the icon is just the default icon for Bluetooth devices in Android. So would this issue require a firm
Posted on July 22, 2014 at 12:19Hello, am using Demo-CR95HF-A MB983 board. I need to increase the Rf power. I read the datasheet of CR95. There it was written to bring the VPS_tx pin in 5V operation. I measure the voltage on this pin and i found it 3.3 V . Dont know how to provide 5V on this pin on this board . Please help. Posted on July 17, 2014 at 18:52Hello! I'm trying to connect to SPBT2632C2A.AT2 of mobile applications for Android. I need SPP profile.I took as the basis for this example http://www.pclviewer.com/android/ Mobile device creates a couple with SPBT2632C2A.AT2 successfully. But connection fails, an exception occurs. Here's the code:function ConnectDvc(Address:String) : Boolean; var BA : JBluetoothAdapter; Dvc : JBluetoothDevice; Sock : JBluetoothSocket; UID : JUUID; begin Result := false; BA := TJBluetoothAdapter.JavaClass.getDefaultAdapter; Dvc := BA.getRemoteDevice(StringToJString(Address)); // This is the well known SPP UUID for connection to a Bluetooth serial device UID := TJUUID.JavaClass.fromString(stringtojstring('00001101-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB')); Sock := Dvc.createRfcommSocketToServiceRecord(UID
Posted on July 07, 2014 at 21:45Hi,1. I am using SOCKETS to make big file upload from my device from server. I have 2 questions:a) What is maximum buffer size in module for SOCKET? It seems about 1K. After it makes unstable in operationb) What is maximum speed of upload using sockets? I am acheaving 5-10 Kb/sec. It is too slow for me.I send 800 bytes in socket. Wait for OK. Then send next part. Sometimes I see delays/timeouts about 1.5s while awaiting ''OK'' from module. Or there is no OK at all. What's reason?FW version = 140128-caf4b79-SPWF01S2. I am single developer (not a company). My distributor ignored me. Can you push them to send me fresh FW? Compel, Saint-Petersburg, Russia. My mail dimitrybulkin@yandex.ru #wi-fi
Posted on July 04, 2014 at 11:43Hi,I would like to know what is the delay when switching channels.I am currently doing tests using the 868MHz configuration.Regards,Wassim
Posted on April 27, 2014 at 00:04Hi.I want to implement in my defice configuration page trough WIFI. Therefore I want to make device like access point wifi for configuration period. But when I write ''AT+S.SCFG=wifi_mode,2'' to my wi-fi module it answers''ERROR: IBSS mode not supported''Is it an old firmware? How can I update it?Thanks #wi-fi.-ibss

Posted on June 15, 2014 at 06:16Hello,I'm in the process of replicating the bluetooth radio design in on pg. 37 here: http://www.st.com/st-web-ui/static/active/en/resource/technical/document/user_manual/DM00099259.pdf, and I'm having difficulty locating the AN2051-254 2.4GHz bluetooth chip antenna used in the design.Other than contacting the antenna manufacturer (http://www.rainsun.com) in Taiwan I think, does anyone have any tips relating to how I can source the chip antenna used in the design or know of a similar antenna that has worked with the dev. kit schematic.Since I have limited access to the kind of equipment I'll need to tune an optimized matching network, I'm trying to minimize the number of variables required to design a functional circuit.Thanks. #bluenrg
Posted on May 26, 2014 at 16:18I have a SPWF01SA wifi module initially it is all good I communicate with him through a terminal. I do a reset control module (AT + CFUN = 1) then it always enters a reset mode and does not accept any command. How can we get out of this infinite loop reset. #spwf01sa
Posted on May 20, 2014 at 22:46Back in the December 2013 version of UM1695, there was a command to set the transmitter power of the module:at+s.scfg=wifi_tx_power,42In the firmware that I have, I get the response ''ERROR: Unrecognized key'', and getting the value of wifi_tx_power gives the same result. Is it still possible to set the transmitter power? If not, what is the default setting equivalent? 0dBm? +18.3dBm?Thanks,Andrei #spwf01x
Posted on May 21, 2014 at 16:20Hi,I'm trying to use MikroElektronika RFID Click (with a CR95HF embeded) as RFID Reader with a STM32F407VG.The CR95HF is connected to the STM32F4 by SPI. The driver and Lib provide by ST are working with STM32F1. It doesn't work on STM32F4. I've tried to modify the driver and lib, by mainly reconfigure the GPIO. It still not working.The STM32F4 can't communicate with CR95HF. (No response to Echo request).The SPI GPIO are configured as follow : /* configure pins used by SPI1 * PA5 = SCK * PA6 = MISO * PA7 = MOSI */ GPIO_InitStruct.GPIO_Pin = GPIO_Pin_7 | GPIO_Pin_6 | GPIO_Pin_5;GPIO_InitStruct.GPIO_Mode = GPIO_Mode_AF;GPIO_InitStruct.GPIO_OType = GPIO_OType_PP;GPIO_InitStruct.GPIO_Speed = GPIO_Speed_50MHz;GPIO_InitStruct.GPIO_PuPd = GPIO_PuPd_NOPULL;GPIO_Init(GPIOA, &GPIO_InitStruct);// connect SPI1 pins to SPI alternate functionGPIO_PinAFConfig(GPIOA, GPIO_PinSource5, GPIO_AF_SPI1);GPIO_PinAFConfig(GPIOA, GPIO_PinSource6, GPIO_AF_SPI1
Posted on April 30, 2014 at 01:29Can the SPBT2632C2A module be setup to use SPI communications in an embedded application instead of UART? Is a new firmware needed to accomplish this? Is there an example on how to set this up?
Posted on April 09, 2014 at 17:28Hi there, the BlueNRG current consumption estimation software tool (STSW-BNRG001) is now available on st.com The STSW-BNRG001 allows you getting a current consumption estimate of the BlueNRG IC under different application conditions. Interested knowing more ? Check this out: http://www.st.com/web/catalog/tools/FM147/CL2116/SC1893/PF260405
