Posted on January 20, 2016 at 07:51Good Morning, I tried the FirstSet function and it worked fine without special characters. I tried it also with percentage encoding, but it doesn't work, like expected. The FirstSet function is a good way to configure a device with limited user input possibilites. But it is mandatory to use special characters for the password. So, is it planed to add some encoding (e.g. percentage encoding'') to the FirstSet function, so that I can use this function for networks with passwords with special characters? Cheers, Flow
Posted on January 29, 2016 at 14:05When I configure one module to listen on a port I can then connect to it via PC client and enter data mode. At this point a link is established and communications are asynchronous bidirectional. When configuring one module to listen (same as above) and another to connect to a port (AT+S.SOCKON=<ip>,<port>,u), the connection can be made but data mode (AT+S) cannot be enabled on either device and communications are not bidirectional like it was talking to pc. Am I missing something obvious here? Whats the difference between talking UDP to a PC client or the module client?
Posted on January 27, 2016 at 09:02Hi all, I have software circullar buffer, parser, state machine for wifi module SPWF01. Everything is ok, but i must loaded data in IRQ every one byte. I will used DMA circle buffer and loaded long data burst but i think this is not possible, because module had not define rules for comunication frame length. Please tell me im wrong and communication frame lenght has define frame lenght (long as 2^n byte or some others rule). Thanks for reply. Ondra
Posted on January 29, 2016 at 12:17Hello, Please help to clarify the following: Can I use BlueNRG-MS module in slave and broadcast mode simultaneously? So, I would like to have connection with master and send some broadcast message. Thanks in advance Regards, Andrei Kukenov
Posted on January 26, 2016 at 19:54Hello.Why when I use sending of ACL packet it is take to 4-8 second for acknowledge event?How can I setup this duration?Which type of ACL packet does BlueNRG use?( DM1, DH1, DM3,DH3, DM5, DH5 and AUX1. 2-DH1, 3-DH1, 2-DH3, 3-DH3, 2-DH5 and 3-DH5.) #bluenrq #event #acl
Posted on January 25, 2016 at 16:37 Hello, I have bought 2 SPSGRF-868-Nucleo module. I want for beginning sent a packet for see how spirit1 works. But afters some search, I don't know if my packet is really sent or not because I receive anything. I have configured 1 module for do a TX and other for RX. TX seems work, because when I sent a packet the interrupt for TX data sent is SET. For RX, I have no interrupt request for RX data available. Only discard. This discard says that the RX timeout is done. I have configured my module with this parameter : // To define : #define XTAL_FREQUENCY 50e6 #define FREQUENCY_OFFSET 0 #define POWER_DBM 6 /* SRadioInit struct */ #define XTAL_OFFSET_PPM 0 #ifndef IF_DEF_RX #define BASE_FREQUENCY 868000000 #else #define BASE_FREQUENCY 868480000 #endif #define CHANNEL_SPACE 20e3 #define CHANNEL_NUMBER 0 #define MODULATION_SELECT FSK #define DATARATE 38400 #define FREQ_DEVIATION 20 #define BANDWIDTH 5e3 /* PktbasicInit struct

Posted on January 21, 2016 at 13:33Hi everyone, I'm making a comparison of different SoM for IoT. I found the SPWF01SA which matchs with my needs. But I want to know the heat generated by this module. Does someone have this data ?
Posted on January 22, 2016 at 10:02Hi!I have connected my Wi-Fi module with a client and now I am getting the commands+WIND:61: Incoming Socket Client :172.31.142.2+WIND:60: Now in Data Modenow I want to get back to command mode.I have tried hitting escape button , Also I tried sending AT+S. without <CR><LF> it is not working. How can i get back to command mode ?Also they suggest to send escape sequence(how can i send escape sequence ?)
Posted on January 09, 2015 at 18:46Hi, I'm trying to customize the advertising packet, but it's unsuccessful so far. I use STEVAL-IDB002V1 BlueNRG HW v3.0BlueNRG FW v6.4Motherboard FW v1.4Since the command ACI_GAP_SET_DISCOVARABLE doesn't give much options I've tried to use HCI_LE_SET_ADVERTISING_PARAMETERS , HCI_LE_Set_Advertizing_Data, HCI_LE_SET_ADVERTISE_ENABLE. The response to HCI_LE_SET_ADVERTISING_PARAMETERS and HCI_LE_SET_ADVERTISE_ENABLE is Unknown HCI Command. Are these supported commands? Is there any other way to customize the advertising and scan packet? Thanks
Posted on January 20, 2016 at 16:08Hello all,I'm using a SPWF01SA.11 as a web server. It is coupled with an host MCU that process the http protocol: the internal web server on the module is disabled (ip_use_httpd = 0), and I have opened the socket server on port 80 (AT+S.SOCKD = 80,t). In this way when the mcu receive an http request, it reply with the http header and the content of the html page. To load a page, the mcu sends over the uart a block of 800 bytes of data and waits for ip_sockd_timeout + 45ms before sending another block. This delay is intended to allow the sending of the data over the wireless and avoid the buffer overflow. Ip_sockd_timeout is set to 5ms. With this configuration sometimes I have some tcp packets corrupted (filled with zero) and the html page is not loaded. Unfortunatelly I can't use hardware flow control because I have some hardware constrains. Is there a solution to safely send some kB of data without having data loss? Thanks in advance for the support.

Posted on October 27, 2015 at 15:40Hi,I would like to communicate with the LCD display. How can i connect the display?. Are there any separate pins dedicated for LCD data bits or i can connect to any GPIO pin. Here i would like to send the serial data (SPI) of a 3-axis sensor to LCD display.
Posted on January 17, 2016 at 19:07Hi (Gerry), if I download a file via HTTPGET command, the content of the file is changed by the wifi module. The file contains 0x00 data. The wifi module translates this into 0x20. Can anybody tell me how to fix this? Thx & cheers, Flow

Posted on February 03, 2015 at 08:49Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is an updated version for the UM1755 which (partially) describes the commands available for the BlueNRG chipset. I can't find decoding scheme for the VS HCI events for example.Thank you.
Posted on January 10, 2016 at 18:37Hi,I'm interface the BlueNRG directly (not using the ACI stack), and having problems programming a Central device when trying to configure scan parameters. Here it is my sequence of events and commands:1) 04 FF 03 01 00 01, BlueNRG ready after reset 2) 01 0C FC 08 00 06 BB 00 00 E1 80 02, Write config. data (BT address) 04 0E 04 01 0C FC 00, Command complete 3) 01 01 FD 00, GATT init 04 0E 04 01 01 FD 00, Command complete 4) 01 8A FC 01 03, GAP init (Role = Central) 04 0E 0A 01 8A FC 00 05 00 06 00 08 00, Command complete & handlers 5) 01 0B 20 07 00 40 00 40 00 00 00, LE Set Scan Parameters (passive scan, interv, wnd) 04 0F 04 01 01 01 0B 20, HCI command unknown (ERROR)I've tried also other LE related commands like LE_Set_Scan_Enable (200C) without success.I don't want to use instead any discovery procedure that will trigger active scanning. I just want the easiest way t
Posted on January 08, 2015 at 00:10Hello - I have run 4 different boards, X-NUCLEO-IDB04A1, from the debugger, stopping on a break point right after a call to hci_read_bd_addr() (which returns success), and all 4 boards had this same board address: 04:02:EC:25:00:FD In order to go into commercial production with a BTLE product, is it required to ensure unique board addresses? In other words, is it required to buy a block of addresses and ensure that each board produced uses exactly one of the block bought? Thanks, #ble-ieee-board-address
Posted on December 09, 2015 at 16:55How do I set a true random address? Using hci_le_set_random_address() I get 0xFF FF FF FF FF FF. Hardware is Nucleo-L053R8 & IDB05A1 Also setting a Beacon with BlueNRG GUI v1.8.0 with a random address also results in a address of 0xFF * 6 Following is the code I tried:- uint8_t RANDOM_BDADDR[] = {0x55, 0xaa, 0x55, 0xaa, 0x55, 0xaa};uint8_t bdaddr[BDADDR_SIZE];uint8_t stack_mode = 4;BlueNRG_RST();ret = aci_hal_write_config_data(CONFIG_DATA_ROLE,CONFIG_DATA_ROLE_LEN,stack_mode);ret = hci_le_set_random_address(RANDOM_BDADDR));ret = hci_read_bd_addr(bdaddr);// bdaddr = 0xFF FF FF FF FF FF !?!

Posted on December 21, 2015 at 11:26Hello,I'm trying to decode/encode my packets using manchester code. Is it possible to use on-chip encoding and decoding for this IC? I couldn't find any register in datasheet, so I assume it's not possible but maybe there's some hidden registers which are able to do it. Any help would be appreciated.Regards,Robert
Posted on December 30, 2014 at 09:05Hi,we're using the SPWF01SA's internal web form (''SPWF01 First Config'') to setup Wi-Fi access.Otherwise it works fine, but when trying to make it connect to a Wi-Fi network that has spaces or special characters in SSID, connection fails. Is this normal, and is there a workaround for this existing?Best regards,TA #wi-fi #ssid
Posted on December 17, 2014 at 01:51I'm quite sure that I don't understand the expected use of the SPWF01 modules. Perhaps I've been doing this stuff too long and have become a crufty old guy, but the command/response protocol seems like it's written expecting a human on the end of the serial port instead of a micro. Help me out here. Here's the problem; the wifi modules have a response structure that is great for humans but a tad odd for parsing by computers. If I was to use the facilities of C for a parser, I would use something like gets() to get input up to the end of line. The module prepends cr/lf to its responses, so it looks great on hyperterm, but it terminates a gets() call before getting to any actual data. So, I have to bring in a ''whole bunch'' of data and parse it. The alternatives are to know the number of characters to expect, keep reading until you hit a terminator, or wait for a timeout.Okay, bring in a bunch of data and look for the terminator. The terminator comes
Posted on December 22, 2015 at 16:33I’m trying to get up and running with the “Wifi 4 click? module. This board has a SPWF01SA wifi module. My power supply is set to 3.30V with a current limit of 2A. I’m using a 3.3V, USB to serial breakout board (FT232R breakout board) between the windows desktop and the module. I’m using bray’s terminal on the windows side of things. When I power up the module, this is what I get: +WIND:1:Poweron (141106-0950875-SPWF01S) +WIND:13:ST SPWF01SA1 IWM: Copyright (c) 2012-2014 STMicroelectronics, Inc.
