Posted on November 21, 2016 at 20:59Hello everyone!I'm working with ST SPBLE-RF using the C code driver provided for BlueNRG-MS. I ported it for an ST8L151G6 microcontroller; the SPI communication works, the device answers correctly (0x02 and the R/W buffer sizes), it pulls up the IRQ pin etc. It sends the vendor specific event (0x04FF03010001) indicating it is initialized. My problem is with all the other commands; i tried (following the examples in the stack) to set the MAC address with the API, but it always return an error, not a timeout but instead of a 'command complete' event i receive a 'command status' with the data 0x040F0101FC0C. The code (inside the hci_send_req API) checks the returned data (in the SPI_IRQ ISR) but it stops because it checks for r->event (always set to 0) and then the third byte (01) of the received data, that it is not null and so it fails. The same problem is found with every command (set TX power, read configuration etc)What is the problem? someone

Posted on November 15, 2016 at 08:58Hi..I can easily connect the module to any APs and it works fine. But, I can not connect it to the iPhone hotpots.. does hotshots needs additional configuration.?
Posted on November 18, 2016 at 12:18I have been using the your WiFi module, The module desciption is below; # nv_manuf = ST # nv_model = SPWF01SA1 # nv_serial = 4313D02202 # nv_wifi_macaddr = 00:80:E1:FF:BA:10 +WIND:1:Poweron (141106-0950875-SPWF01S) (f/w version) After socket write operation with''AT+S.SOCKR'' command, ''+WIND:55:Pending Data...'' is generated. UM1695 does not include any information about that issue. I upgrate the firmware from 3.3(141106) to 3.5(160129) I retest the module but got same result. I attached the test outputs screen shot. I already test two modules but the result is same.
Posted on November 15, 2016 at 17:10Hi,I'm trying to send messages to the host processor (the one communicating with the SPWF01SA module). As far as I know there are two methods:* /output.cgi?text=message* SOCKDBoth output.cgi and the socket server suffer from the fact that messages are indistinguishable from asynchronous indications from the SPWF01SA module. If I were to send two requests to output.cgi:/output.cgi?text=/output.cgi?text=+WIND:2:ResetThe host processor would now think that it received a valid WIND. The first request to output.cgi sends ''\r\n'' and the second ''+WIND:2:Reset\r\n'' resulting in ''\r\n+WIND:2:Reset\r\n'' which is identical to a WIND.We have this same issue when a socket client connects to the socket server. Even when we are in Data Mode, we must continuously monitor WINDs for returning to Command Mode.In this case the socket client can simply send: ''\r\n+WIND:59:Back to Command Mode\r\n\r\n+WIND:2:Reset\r\n'' which will have the same effect as the output.

Posted on November 10, 2016 at 12:03Does anyone know if ST have source code for the SP1ML modules available? or even a starting point for people wanting to develop custom firmware for the device.thanks #sp1ml-spirit1-stm32l151rb
Posted on November 02, 2016 at 21:32I'm trying to add a ''Client configuration descriptor'' to a characteristic using the following function call. However, it returns a status of 0x61 (invalid parameter) with no indication of which parameter is invalid. This call DOES WORK for all valid descriptors except for ''CHAR_CLIENT_CONFIG_DESC_UUID'' and ''CHAR_SERVER_CONFIG_DESC_UUID''. Anybody have any idea which parameter my be wrong?--------------------------------------------------------------------uuid16 = CHAR_CLIENT_CONFIG_DESC_UUID;uint16_t descHandle;charactFormat charFormat;charFormat.format = FORMAT_UTF8S;charFormat.exp = 0;charFormat.unit = UNIT_UNITLESS;charFormat.name_space = 0;charFormat.desc = 0; status = aci_gatt_add_char_desc(service_handle, characteristic_handle, UUID_TYPE_16, uuid16, 7, 7, (void *)&charFormat, ATTR_PERMISSION_NONE, ATTR_ACCESS_READ_ONLY | ATTR_ACCESS_READ_WRITE, 01, 16, FALSE, &
Posted on November 02, 2016 at 18:23Hi,I've been testing the socket server (AT+S.SOCKD=32000) on the SPWF01SA and noticed that whenever a client connects the Wi-Fi module immediately enters data mode. This seemed like a potential problem so I decided to test it while waiting for the result from an AT command (HTTPGET).Interestingly, the message from the socket client is printed immediately on the UART (no WIND!) and the AT command does not complete until the socket client disconnects. After the socket client disconnects the response from the AT command is printed followed by four WINDs (61, 60, 59, 62).This behaviour makes it dangerous to have a socket server active while issuing any AT command. If a socket client has connected previously, I am able to enter and exit data mode (at+s.) with success. If there is incoming socket data during this time I properly get WIND 64 (pending data) and am able to receive it later (with at+s.).Example to reproduce (UI = UART Input, UO = UART Output,
Posted on October 28, 2016 at 01:38HelloI'm evaluating the SPWF01SA for an industrial application especially with regard to its TLS capabilities.Unfortunately my knowledge of TLS especially in an embedded setting is limited, and AN4683 neglects to mention how the SPWF01xx module handles a few key aspects of TLS which I think are important to understand. Specifically,Is there any check for revoked certificates?AN4683 mentions the server certificate is verified, but how are certificate chains processed? My understanding is that every certificate in the chain should be verified. Does the SPWF01xx do this when provided the top-most root CA certificate, but is connecting to a server several certificates down the chain? Are there any other drawbacks or considerations worth noting? Regards, m
Posted on October 19, 2016 at 15:46Hi,I am doing some measurements using the RSSI from the SPIRIT1. I am making the the following test:In the transmiter I am using the continuos wave In the receiver I am verifing the RSSI as the following:Enter RX state,Waiting some us (~180)SABORT CommandReading de Register 0xC8With a distance of 10m between transmiter and receiver I can see the RSSI in the receiver going lower when the transmiter power goes low, GREAT!The problem is when I am using the transmiter to send packets. Does not matter if I change the power transmited from 16dBm to -30 dBm. In the receiver my RSSI measured is always -54 dBm, using the same distance from the test with a transmiter in continuos wave.I know that the power in the transmiter is changing, because I am using a spectrum analyzer to check it.I would like to know if anyone has some insights about what could be happening. I am looking at the registers related to the RSSI, like RSSI_FLT. I do not understand how t
Posted on July 28, 2016 at 12:59Hi, I am a beginner with RF and SPIRIT1. I’ve been working with SPIRTI1 for more than a month by now and I am having some problems regarding de cofiguration of the output power of this device. I am not able to get +16dBm as output power from the CI I am using. I used a spectrum analyser to measure the frequency and output power of the SPIRIT1 and as result I got -1.95 dBm as output power, the parameters refering to frequency are correct, but the output power is much lower of what I was expecting. I would like to ask for some ideas of what could be wrong with my design (hardware and/or firmware). The SPIRIT1 is working at 172MHz, GFSK with BT = 1, basic packet, 100kbps data rate, output power = +16dBm (at least, it should be).I am able to transmit and receive basic packets up to a distance of 50m without any erros, using CSMA or not, with CRC filtering enable.Regarding the output power, do I only need to set those two registers? POWER[8] (0x10) and POWER[
Posted on October 13, 2016 at 21:18Hi guys,SPWF01S is a new module for me. I have been using it for about a month. My question is this: if I set the WiFi connection options at every boot and issue an AT&W (save), will it wear out the eprom memory? How do you guys handle configuring the module at boot?Due to legacy design I am not using an ST processor :(-Mr_E #wifi
Posted on October 18, 2016 at 14:17Hi, UM1695 mentions that there is a special test mode that is enabled via configuration variable ''eft_mode''. Description says ''Enable/disable the Engineering Test Functions. It is used for controlling the radio for the certification tests (disabled by default=0, enabled=1)''. However I cannot find any more documentation on this. Typically in these tests we would like to select the channel and transmission and jut send some data patterns in order to measure the antenna implementation etc. How are these controlled when test mode is enabled?
Posted on September 19, 2016 at 22:07Hello everyone, the documentation about the AT+S.HTTPREQ is very limited. I would like to download quite large files from an HTTP server. I've been told that it is possible to request small parts of the file with a curl -r command. Is it possible to do such a thing with the AT+S.HTTPREQ command or any other way. Thank you. #at+s.httpreq
Posted on October 03, 2016 at 13:49Dear all,I have already posted /public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/STM32Java/Flat.aspx?RootFolder=https://my.st.com/public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/STM32Java/Where%20to%20find%20a%20programming%20manual&FolderCTID=0x01200200770978C69A1141439FE559EB459D758000F9A0E3A95BA69146A17C2E80209ADC21&currentviews=53, they suggest me to post in this other subforum. So, I am trying to find a programming manual or a reference manual for SPBTLE-RF on the st website without success. I have found only a datasheet but nothing else.I am looking for this programming manual since it seems this chip is used on the newest bluetooth x-Nucleo and I am working on a project which aims to support every or the most part of STM32 expansion boards, but this is becoming more and more difficult. Hints?Ciao,RM null
Posted on October 14, 2016 at 23:55I have a server socket that automatically goes into data mode when a client connects.I would like to be able to go back to command mode by using the escape sequence ''at+s.'', but it doesn't work, even if I set a custom escape sequence.♯ nv_manuf = ST♯ nv_model = SPWF01SA1♯ version = 160129-c5bf5ce-SPWF01SSpecifically: the client sends me new WIFI config info. SSID, etc. I'd like to read each item, have the main processor set that option on the WiFi module, then echo back the reply to the client. I know I can read data on a socket while in command mode. The question is will a server socket allow command mode? #command-mode
Posted on October 06, 2016 at 11:35We are testing p2p connectivity software on NUCLEO L152RE + X-NUCLEO-IDS01A4. We need to use auto acknowledgement and auto retransmission feature on spirit1. Whatever the application in the SUBG1 package, is not using these features. When we try to enable these features, it is not functioning properly. It would be of great help if anybody could share some test code one might have used to test these features. Symptoms: Sender is getting ack for the first packet, but not for subsequent packets. Receiver is giving tx fifo failure interrupt. Contacted ST online help, but no reply. Any help is greatly appreciated. #spirit1 #spsgrf
Posted on October 04, 2016 at 16:58Hi,I use the SPSGRF module in 868MHz Narrowband. I search to send packet with this configurations : - Fc = 869.2375MHz- Fdev = 2.7 kHz- Datarate = 4.8 kBit/s- Number of channels : 0- Spacing channel : don't care ? - Modulation : GFSK_BT05So for my receiver a set : - Channel filters : 11,0 kHz > (2*Fdev + datarate) ~ 10,4KHz- SQI / PQI : Disable - RSSI Threshold : -20 dBm.In this configuration I receive nothing. In my Spectrum analyzer, I see a signal when I transmit something, but receiver doesn't see : Preamble, Sync Word ... So which parameter I miss to configure for make a reception ? Something hide ? Or it's my transmit who is no good ? I think is not channel filter the problem... Regards,Loc #spirit1-rx-tx-receive-transmit
Posted on September 29, 2016 at 13:06Dear Support Team,I want to collect data from 64 heat meters, heat meters are from Danfoss, in mode T1.The purpose of the project is only data collecting from heat meters without decryption, collected data forwarding to web server. I have few questions about the ST's wireless M-bus stack?1. What is the maximum supported meter number at the same time, how many meters can I add to the collector device? Best regards Levente.
Posted on September 01, 2016 at 12:45Hi,I observed followings while communicating between two spwf01modules: At the Client side when its try to connect to server I’m using AT+S.SOCKON command to connect. In this command I can pass “ind? parameter which can indicate data arrival at the client side with “+WIND:55:Pending Data? on UART interrupt . Client side it is taking 500ms to receive WIND:55:Pending Data: interrupt. Server to client data transmission it takes only 5 to 6ms. Please suggest how to solve this time delay at the client side.Thank youBasavanagouda
Posted on September 22, 2016 at 13:19Hello. How can i change GATT charProperties of added GATT characteristics? Is that possible? I need to remove Read/WriteProperties (CHAR_PROP_READ/WRITE) of all characteristics when GATT service will be locked. It`s a requirement of Eddystone protocol. Thanks.
Posted on August 29, 2016 at 15:09Hi. I`m implementing BlueNRG based Eddystone beacon. And i have to check GATT Return/Error codes of GATT read/write commands in Android/iOS application. I have no idea about this codes and i found no BueNRG API function to return them. This codes described there (bottom of the page):https://github.com/google/eddystone/tree/master/configuration-service And here (Summary->Constants):https://developer.android.com/reference/android/bluetooth/BluetoothGatt.html As we can see, this is the same codes. How can i manage them manually? Or is it an internal BLE stack implementation? Or is it not implemented? Thanks Alex #bluenrg #bluenrg #bluenrg-ble-gatt
Posted on September 13, 2016 at 14:00Hi I have an issue similar to one raised earlier in the forum but there didnt appear to be a resolution. When I create my own web pages and use the output.cgi as per examples I have found, when I submit the data from my page the output_demo.html page appears.I have tested in a browser and my page submits the same data as the output_demo.htmlwhen testing on a PC (not in the module).Any ideas ?Also sometimes I get after an update:- Error (-12 @ 180216/248), cleaning up..After performing an OTA Update httpdfsupdateWhat does Error -12 mean ? I cannot find any documentation.
