I set up the Wi-Fi connection correctly, it responds well to ping, but I can not send an email.I have tried several things, and I only get a certificate 5 error (the common name does not match)at + s.smtp = (hostmane), 587,5, (user), (password), SPWF04SA, (email), (to) ,,, proba ,, 5{text1}or certificate error 23 (CA could not be found)at + s.smtp = smtp.gmail.com, 587,5, (email), (password), SPWF04SA, (email), (to) ,,, proba ,, 5 {text2}What am I doing wrong? Can anyone show a complete plot?
Posted on September 15, 2017 at 16:50Hi,I am using the SPWF04 and want to update the filesystem via UART.Is it possible? For the SPWF01 there is the command AT+S.HTTPDFSWRITE but thats not working with the SPWF04.I've read in another post that it might be possible with FLASHER/ST-LINK (wired UART/SWD) but I can't find any further informations. Thanks for your help!
Posted on September 01, 2017 at 11:39Hey Folks, i'm currently starting with developing applications for the SensorTile. I try to achieve so advertise a custom BLE Packet (like an AltBeacon Protocol). I found the hci_le.c header in de Middleware. It seams that i can use the 'hci_set_set_advertising_parameters' and 'hci_le_set_advertising_data' functions for modifieng the ADV Packet. But there is no documentation what the function parameters mean! Is there any documentation ore experience available?? Thanks Jan B.#sensortile #bluenrg
Posted on July 21, 2015 at 11:00Hello, i'm using aBlueNRG-MS module.I have a problem with this module. I can use it as Master and Slave, but i can't use it as Master&Slave simultaneously. Because after i create a connection with a slave module i can't make the Master discoverable.what can i do? is there an example of using the BlueNRG as Master&Slave simultaneously ?Thanks!Stefano #bluenrg-master&slave
Posted on September 11, 2017 at 09:03I'm using STM32 WiFi Cube Extension 3.02 and I see that calling wifi_init restore my module to factory default.I want the latest AP setup to be saved between module power cycles, if one was set, and by calling wifi init I remove this setup every time the module is started.I can of course comment it out but I was wondering why it is there from the first place, maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks,Eyal #spwf01
Posted on September 12, 2017 at 14:48Hello,I am trying to do a test with the bluenrg-1, I have connected 2 led's to different inputs, I am blinking those leds every second and they are working fine but when I try to use the aci_hal_tone_start( 0 ), the led's stop working and it does not seem to be advertising anything on that channel.Anyone have any idea what the problem could be. Could be any config problem, any example? Thanks

Posted on September 07, 2017 at 16:37My device works as peripheral in stack mode 2. This means it can handle connection from one central device only. I need to handle at least two central/master devices simultaneously. How can I do that? I suppose I need stack mode 3 or 4. What is the difference between them? There is nothing about this in PM0237. UM2058 says there can be 8 connections in Mode 3 and 4 connections in Mode 4, but there are no details whether it applies to central or peripheral role. I don't need central, I don't need scan. Just peripheral and advertising. I have found some slides which say there can be only 1 master connected in Mode 3 and two masters in Mode 4. Is that true? Does it mean that it's not possible to access BlueNRG-MS in peripheral role from e.g. phone, tablet, and computer at the same time? Where can I find official information about this?#bluenrg-ms #stack-mode

Posted on September 07, 2017 at 17:37Hi, I'm trying to design a PCB with the M95640-DRMF3TG (AKA M95128-A125) Serial EEPROM, and cannot find a land pattern for the part. The best thing I can find is TN1171 (Technical Note), but it does not give any dimension information on the part. I'm getting frustrated with the lack of information. The Technical note is dated 2014, so the part has been out for a while, and I was hoping that there would be better documentation at this point. This may be an ST exclusive package, which worries me about second sourcing ability.http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/technical_note/6f/d0/b9/86/d1/62/45/18/DM00111135.pdf/files/DM00111135.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00111135.pdf
Posted on September 06, 2017 at 21:49Hi All,I am wondering why the newly launched ST BlueNRG-2 only has an RX sensitivity of -88 dBm and not something closer to the competitor products like the Nordic nRF52 (-95 dBm)? Even the old nRF51 has an RXsens of -93 dBm!#bluenrg #bluenrg-2

Posted on June 29, 2017 at 10:05Hi I am using a SPWF04, and I am connecting it to PC using STM32 Nucleo as USB2UART bridge ( This is running WiFi VCOM , STM32L476RG-Nucleo project.bin )I am working on a project where I want to have a webpage on the SPWF04 (similar to the example applications). The SPWF04 will be in Wi-Fi AP mode, and allow connection from mobile devices. The mobile device will hit the webpage - which in turn will cause SSI calls to the SPWF04 module. I will then have micropython code on the SPWF04 that will receive the SSI call (through +WIND notifications) and will return the relevant data for the SSI field. The micropython will also have an open connection to UART/USB to a PC - and will send/receive messages on that port.I am currently experiencing some issues that I hope you can help with:1) Please could you confirm that for development purposes, I am using the STM32 Nucleo as USB2UART bridge in the correct way i.e. using WiFi

Posted on September 01, 2017 at 12:24I have some trouble with getting disassociated because I reload one of my pages very often to get the newest SSI information on the webpage from the microcontroller. I get the message: '+WIND:72:Station Disassociated: ... :1'.I am using the SPWF04 in MiniAP mode and with firmware 1.0.0For testing I am using a html page with:<body onload='window.location.reload(false)'>In the user manual I found the variable wifi_txfail_thresh which is for the maximum number of lost packets before disassociation. When I set it to a higher number I don't get disassociated so fast. When I set it to 0 or 1 I get disassociated very fast. With the standard value 5 it takes between 1 and 15 minutes after a reset until disassociation. My question is: Is it possible to disable the disassociation function? I don't want to be disassociated no matter how many packets are lost...Thanks and regardsMareike
Posted on August 31, 2017 at 15:54I'm writing software which sends ASCII messages that are interpenetrated by a machine via UART from my web application. The application is on the chip fine, it sends the ASCII I write via output.cgi, and I snoop on the RX and TX with realterm so I can see the strings being sent and the CGI file is the only thing interacting with my ASCII before it goes on the wire. So when I send 'RESPOND?' I can see the string RESPOND but the question mark is converted to html encoding and what is printed is 'RESPOND%3F' so my machine can not interpret this. Has anyone had this issue or does anyone have any solutions? I have NO idea why its happening and I believe I am unable to write my own custom CGI files for the chip.Thanks#%3f #html-encoding #ascii #spwf01sa #error #output.cgi
Posted on August 31, 2017 at 12:55I have a couple of weeks trying to make a TLS connection and it has been practically impossible. I am using the SDK for SPWF04A (STM32CubeExpansion_WIFI1_V3.0.2) on a NUCLEO-F401RE, and compiling the code into IAR. I followed all the steps explained in document AN4963 and UM2114. I have tried to obtain the root certificates (CA) of the sites that I have decided to test, and the respective Subject Key Identifier of each certificate. I have placed CA certificates in the code as text string in PEM format and exported from Google Chrome, and I proceeded to do the tests in two modalities, either using sockets, or using the http client. The issue is that if I establish a socket or http connection to port 80 and without using encryption in the selected test sites (Googleapis, Restipsum, etc) the connection is satisfactory and I get the expected data. On the other hand, if I try to establish the connection in TLS using port 443 for each of these sites, and usi
Posted on May 19, 2017 at 13:04The Generic Attribute service (0x1801) has Service Changed characteristic (0x2A05). They are added automatically by Aci_Gatt_Init. Does BlueNRG-MS stack send indications with this characteristc when services and characteristics are being added or removed? Or I need to send indications manually? Central devices, e.g. mobiles phones, cache services and they need to be notified by Service Changed characteristic so they can rescan peripheral device and update their cache.#cache #bluenrg-ms

Posted on August 17, 2017 at 08:24Hi,I am using Nucleo l053r8 development board with x-nucleo-idb05a1 extension board which has SPBTLE-RF bluetooth low energy module. I am want to make application that can scan for ble devices and reads its advertising data. I can find examples for device as peripheral mode but can't find any example about scanning. Can anyone give me some pointers where to look for example code for scanning modes or where should i start to learn more about it?Thanks
Posted on August 21, 2017 at 15:49Hi, I have a question about the firmware version of the spwf01S modules.AT+S.STS=version♯ version = 150410-c2e37a3-SPWF01SWhen I read the version, this appears. This is the version is 3.4. Is there a way to get 3.4 from the version string. The first 6 letters are something like the compile or release date, but for what are the others. It's a bit strange, that the firmware version is always declared with 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, but this versioning is not used on the device itself. So is there any connection with Version 3.4 and 150410-c2e37a3-SPWF01S or not?Best regardsSimon#version #spwf01s
Posted on June 29, 2017 at 15:50Section 5.2 of the AN4964 gives an example of using micropython to handle the +WIND messages. Please could you provide a link to the source code for the WIND module - as I am need to access more than just the +WIND code ( i.e. w.code() ). What other attributes are available on the 'w' object as I need to access the data that is sent within the +56 'Input to remote' %s Input ID+57 'Output from remote' %u:%s Received messageNote: micropython does not support 'vars' command so i cannot lookup the object attributes in the code, so need assistance on how to get the data from within the micropython script
Posted on August 02, 2017 at 03:43Where can I find the specification for how the BlueNRG-MS parts (WLCSP34) packages are marked? I need to confirm that the parts we have soldered onto our boards are indeed BlueNRG-MS and not BlueNRG. I can't find anything about package marking in the datasheets for these parts, nor can I find anything on their product pages nor by google searches. Please help - I have urgent need to confirm the markings of the parts on our boards.Thank you!#bluenrg-ms #package-marking

If any of you tried this please suggest on it.
Posted on August 14, 2017 at 10:45I have exactly the same problem as https://community.st.com/0D50X00009XkYUuSAN but with different network processor - BlueNRG.We have two custom boards with BlueNRG: one acting as peripheral and one as central.I have managed to configure peripheral device to pair with passkey method and I can pair with it using Android phone. But I can't pair with peripheral using central device with BlueNRG processor.Using document 'PM0237 Programming manual' I do following: - For central and peripheral configure keys(aci_hal_write_config_data(...)) - Setup io capability for peripheral as display only and for central keyboard only - Setup authentication requirements for both devices without fixed passkey After connection setup peripheral device calls aci_gap_slave_security_request(...), receives event 'pass key request'and sends pass key response with some passkey.Central device receives event 'pass key request' and sends pass key response with the
