I'm interested to know about the input protection doides on five volt tolerent IO. In various places the documentation shows the clasic diode from the IO to ''VDD_FT'' and states ''VDD_FT is a potential specific to five-volt tolerant I/Os and different from VDD''. So my question is what is VDD_FT? What is it connceted to? What does a diode connected to VDD_FT limit the input to i.e. what voltage is VDD_FT? If VDD_FT is 5V then how is it achieved when the supply voltage is always much less than 5V?
Regards Trevor
