If I set up the STM32F107 as a USB Virtual COM Port Device (using for instance ''stm32_f105-07_f2_f4_usb-host-device_lib.zip''), do I need to install the Virtual COM Port driver for it to function with Windows 7?
UM1021 which describes the above firmware package indicates that the VCP driver is required, but I'm wondering if that was based on perhaps WinXP, and maybe the driver is built-in to Win7?Any comments would be most appreciated.

No, I'm pretty sure you're going to have to install the appropriate 32-bit or 64-bit driver for Win7
