BlueNRG-MS (X-NUCLEO-IDB05A1) too much power consumption

Hello everyone.

Software:

X-CUBE-BLE1 (v. 2.5.2)

Example: Sensor Demo Application with DMA and low power mode (Project Name: DMA_LP_SDemo)

1) Equipment: NUCLEO-L053R8 + X-NUCLEO-IDB04A1

- Current consumption in operation mode advertising: about 15 �A

- Current consumption in operation mode connections: about 130 �A

2) Equipment: NUCLEO-L053R8 + X-NUCLEO-IDB05A1

- Current consumption in operation mode advertising: about 300 �A !!!

- Current consumption in operation mode connections: about 130 �A

Power supply voltage 3.3 V.

The problem lies in the very high consumption of X-NUCLEO-IDB05A1 mode advertising.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Dear Customer,

The difference in current consumption observed in Advertising mode is due to different default values for Minimum and Maximum Advertising Intervals used by X-NUCLEO-IDB04A1 and X-NUCLEO-IDB05A1 firmware, respectively. You can tune such values when calling the API: “aci_gap_set_discoverable()�.

I set the min and max advertising time.

It was just what I needed.

Now Current consumption is about 2 µA

.
